Opensignal is a free to use, advert free mobile connectivity and network signal speed test app.
Opensignal speed tests measure your mobile connectivity and signal strength. Opensignal runs a 5 second download test, 5 second upload test and a ping test to provide a consistently accurate measurement of the internet speed you will likely experience. The speed test runs on common internet CDN servers. The internet speed result is calculated with the middle range of samples.
Slow video load time? Video buffering? More time waiting than watching? Opensignal’s video test plays a 15 sec video snippet to test and log load time, buffering, and playback speed issues in real-time to show you exactly what to expect with HD and SD videos on your network.
Always know where to find the best coverage and fastest speeds with Opensignal’s network coverage map. The map shows signal strength down to street level using speed test and signal data from local users. With network stats on local network operators, you can check coverage ahead of a trip, check the internet and download strength in remote areas, compare your network to other providers in the area, arrange the best local SIM.
The cell tower compass allows you to see which direction the closest or strongest signal is coming from, enabling you to more accurately use broadband and signal boosting technology.
Note: The cell tower compass uses aggregate data and accuracy issues can occur in certain areas. We’re striving to improve this feature and thank you for your patience.
Opensignal records the time you’ve spent on 3G, 4G, 5G, WiFi or had no signal at all. This allows you to see where you are getting the service you’re paying for from your network provider. If not, use this data and the individual speed tests to highlight connectivity and signal issues to your mobile network operator.
We provide an independent source of truth in mobile network experience: A data source that shows how users experience mobile network speeds, gaming, video and voice services worldwide.
To do this, we collect anonymised data on the signal strength, network, location and other device sensors. You can stop this at any time in the settings. We share this data with network operators globally and others in the industry to drive better connectivity for all.

A waist of time. I have Verizon and they claim to have service in my area and we have 0. When I say 0 I mean none from any carrier. We have to use satellite internet to even make wifi calls and even then you can't talk because the speeds are so slow. This app shows we have 4g speeds but we can hardly download even apps forget about watching videos.

Here in Townsville, we have 3g4g5g. With this app, l can fine tune it for only 4g5g. Plus, it give you speedtests, phone speed and video speed on your phone. This app aloud you to choose which phone company your with so you can compare speed. The app gives you find a tower function. Oh yes, there is a function that allows you to change the color if your color blind. Many other apps don't give you that option. Foot note - each test it's data hungry 50 mbs for each test. 1 mt is 1.6gb

Not useful if you are searching for cell towers. App shows micro-cells around my neighborhood (and shows I am connected to a micro-cell but this is not true..). Doesn't show the actual cell towers that I know are there, and verified those towers with other apps..

After tapping the speed test button, the application then hanged and got stuck into a message which says, testing latency, And there has even no option to either stop the test, or, exit / close the app. Hell!, Even the traditional back button, won't work!

This is a great tool for anyone who travels, for aiming cell boosters, or just plain finding cell coverage. Keep up the good work and thank you for making a useful and intuitive application.

It's fake app. Don't download it. Currently Airtel has no network(No Signal Bars) in my area. It's not just my issue, people those who using Airtel has no network here. But this app shows Airtel has fastest network in my area. This app shows high speed for downloading and uploading for the Airtel. But it's absolutely wrong in my area.

Points in the wrong direction?? I know, where the towers are, it knows where the towers are, but the signal direction is complete wrong. Confirmed compass calibration on phone correct but app signal pointer is completely wrong. Usless

just downloaded. I am relieved to be in a solid 3G area. The app works well, it's basic but ad free and tests by Generational bands. Excellent free product!

It's good to have an apps to monitor our telco's Internet service and use it to claim for non service. ISP must ensure customers get what they paid for. If free 1 G data is snail slow it is useless for online classes.

In the apps, that showing the telco has 4g coverage. But in the reality there is no 4g coverage and there is only 3g coverage! The telco speedtest wrote 20mbps, but again it was actually only 0.7mbps!! 🥲 #poorapps☹️ #notrecommend👎🏻 Please ✨fix✨ this bugs on your apps 😌👌🏻
