Generally ok. Main annoying aspect for me is when an article from NZZ is opened not via the app it opens a webpage rather than the app. With the BBC app it recognizes that it is a BBC article and asks whether it shall open in the app. Please add this feature.

I have a paid subscription and entered my login details into the app. Since a few days, I received for articles the message "you need to have a subscription" in order to read it, even though I was logged in. I had then the option to re-enter my login details, it asked me for my address details, and then I got the message that there was an existing subscription already linked to my account. Despite that, it still didn't allow me to read subscription-only articles. I called NZZ, they recommended me to uninstall the app. Having done so, I cannot reinstall as the Google app store claims that my device is not eligible (I have Android 8, minimum requirement is Android 5). So I am stuck with a subscription that I cannot use. I will have to cancel the subscription now due to this very buggy app. By the way, I am able to install the NZZ E-Paper and the NZZ Stage (testing) app, only the main app is not available. It seems as if the developer has played with restrictions for the app store and messed something up.

unusable and not working at all on my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact (E5823) with Android 7.1.1. The app always shows "page cannot be loaded". No content at all is shown and I cannot read any news. I did contact support with detailed information. They did inform me, they are aware of it and working on a solution, but the bug is still there a few weeks later. Very disappointed, I'm expecting a good, working app for the subscription I paid for.

EDIT: It semms like the bug was fixed. The app is pretty good but there is one really annoying bug: when you scroll over an ad, the whol app just goes dark. When the ad isn't visible anymore then the app goes back to normal. I could only notice this behaviour only sometimes when I'm reading an article. Sometimes means in about 70%. Also a dark theme would be really nice.

Great articles but the app is buggy. There are constant white-outs where all the text disappears. Some articles have to be accessed via a browser where you have to log in again (why??). Being exposed to ads when you already pay for the newspaper is annoying, but ads that you cannot close and blackout the entire screen are unacceptable.
Thomas Krüger
Update: scrolling down searching for content between ads is now the main user activity. Following links of announced articles prohibits returning to the main page. Price hike. I'm now so fed up that I will not prolong my subscription. ... I used to be a happy user of this app most of the time but lately valued features were removed and instability was introduced. To be clear, NZZ articles are among the best in the world. The app is not!
Rene Tschaggelar
Sends data to facebook such as which pages were visited. Datacompression and load on demand was not a design goal, just opening the app creates a lot of traffic. Ads are high res pictures. Thus only for users with a mobile flat rate.

Crashes constantly, often can't go back to the main page and it always loads the same article I was just viewing before I pressed the return button. Really disappointed that you pay subscription fees, get ads and the app is still less well developed than highways on the moon.
Daniel Nordberg
Good articles but not worth it. Not only is the app not upfront about not really being able to be used unless you pay a monthly fee of 20$, but after that you willl still see ads.
Benjamin Court
Good articles if I could actually read them. It keeps claiming I have a bad internet connection even though I know I don't. Seems like a scheme to get you to sign up to their subscription, where you can read their articles while "offline".
