This weather app is not affiliated with NOAA or the National Weather Service. Products provided by NOAA are in the public domain, and this app's use of those products is compliant with NOAANWS terms of use.

This app provides forecasts, animated radar, hourly forecast, and current conditions, all in an intuitive and easy to use interface. Just the information you need, provided accurately, quickly, and for your exact location.

"A no-nonsense approach to show weather data on your phone, but done well and great looking" - Android Central

This app uses NOAA point forecasts from your GPS location to get the most localized weather available. Point forecasts are great for climbing, hiking, skiing, or any outdoor activity where weather from a nearby city isn't accurate enough.

GPS on the phone will provide the most accurate location, but usually isn't needed. Nearby cell towers and Wi-Fi networks can also provide this information, and will be checked first to save time and battery. You can also enter a location manually.

To provided highly localized forecasting, this app uses point forecasts from the National Weather Service (NOAANWS), and is therefore only available in the US.

If there is severe weather this will display at the top of the forecast. This app currently does NOT support severe weather alerts or notifications. NOAA is providing this service directly through cell carriers. You can read more about the service at

There are also several differently sized widgets available which can be placed on your homescreen to provide some basic weather information, without the need to open the app.

Forecast discussion is available through the menu button.

Permission: Location
This app requires your location to provide you with the most accurate weather. This is fundamental to how the app works. You can still add manual locations as well if you prefer.

Permission: PhotosMediaFiles
This permission is required by Google Maps so that it can cache map tiles for faster loading. It sounds like the app is doing something with your photos or media, but it is not. The permission means that the app has permission to access your files (which includes photos and media), but does not mean they are actually being accessed. It is a subtle but important distinction. Contact me if you have further questions about this.

These are the non-simplified permissions as listed in the Android manifest:
android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION" (location access listed above)
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" (check for network connection)
android.permission.INTERNET" (download weather)
android.permission.VIBRATE" (for zoom feedback on old radar)
android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" (this is PhotosMediaFiles listed above)" (required by google maps)

Reviews From google play store

I've been using this app since probably 2013, and it remains my go-to app. It does a phenomenal job of pulling data from the National Weather Service, including some data (like hourly precipitation and temperature forecasts) that aren't easy to track down on the NWS website. The pro version is worth getting.

Not only is this app accurate the customer service is phenomenal! I had an issue with blocks of color on the radar screen. Sent an email and received not only a response, but the answer to the issue in just a few hours. My radar map is perfect again! Thank you Paul Nadler for that knowledge.

My weather app of choice for several years. Has a clean design; easy to quickly see what you need to know for the day or week ahead. Very reliable in terms of the accuracy of information. This app includes DEWPOINT, an important feature which is not included in many weather apps. Excellent choice of four widgets to fit screens of all sizes.

I really like this app. It's simple and has all the basic things you need in a weather app without all the "bells and whistles" that are unnecessary (for me anyway): Current observations, daily and hourly forecasts, radar, and severe weather alerts.

No b.s. Straight from the source, the National Weather Service, which ALL weather news outlets, TV, radio and web sites rely on totally, yet seldom acknowledge. This app gives you the straight data, simply displayed. Nice configurable views.

Paid version seems to run better than the "free" versions. No ads. I like the dewpoint graph, nice to see what it will be in the next few days.

This weather app works well 90% of the time. Sometimes, it doesn't load but it's rare. Also, I had to purchase this app to load more than three weather locations. I more than satisfied with app overall.

Good..I upgraded to pro, supposed to be able to add more than 3 locations, but every time I try, it says I have to upgrade to pro... not too happy about that!!?

Very good app. Easy to add and remove favorite locations, and check hourly weather conditions. The sliding bar at the bottom of the scene makes it simple to check weather for future dates.

As good and as accurate as a weather app gets, and I have tried them all. Any faults are due to NOAA going offline periodically, but that's out of the control of the app developer.

I like the app. Simple and fairly well laid out. Getting it setup is a bit of a hassle. The screen widget is nice.

This has been my go-to weather app for ages. Simple, clean, stable, it's awesome for its purpose. Finally got around to buying pro version as a token of my appreciation. Well done.

Excellent forecasts. I use this app when fishing in & out of my area. It give me an idea of what to be expected & if the trip will be a go or not. I highly recommend it. >>)):> <:((<< >>)):>

Love the new maps overlays. If I could make one suggestion is to eliminate the wasted space for the animation slider and put a button down at the bottom for the tab options.

Not the prettiest app, but getting weather reports from the source that collects data is useful and accurate.

Much improved reliability and data provided in a customized format. It's been my go-to weather app for a while.

Been using this weather app for years and is one of the best. No Dog & Pony show. Just a simple app to quickly check your weather. One of the few apps I actually purchased. Pix3/10.0

First off I would like to say I was wrong about THIS app charging my account. I mixed up apps. I was wrong and admit I was wrong. It was not this app. Yes I would HIGHLY recommend this app. I use this app daily

It's fairly accurate. Sometimes I have to reload it several times before it will pick up my current location though.

This app is a great way to check weather before leaving for work or driving on holiday ... Just choose a town or destination route see the weather on map.

Love the clarity and simplicity of design , easy to use and variety of maps and forecast presentations.

Overall a great easy to use app. Been using several years. I would like to be able to see some history, but is my only negative.

New map options are confusing and don't work well. Old map no longer works. It's like their making it worse.

Most accurate and detailed one-stop weather app. No other app comes close.

A basic weather app with no ads and no hype, just weather related info. Easy to navigate.

Really getting tired of having the "Update Error" messages. My other weather apps do fine while yours goes phhhhhht! Paid app, fix this!

Best weather app out there. Directly from the National Weather Service. Reliable. Accurate.

Just downloaded today and so far am happy with the app. One star deduction for widget design which is lacking compared to other weather widgets.

Handy tool with forecasts and raw data. Leave your GPS active, and you'll always get local data in the widget and app.

I found the forecasts to be accurate. I like the layout of the various sections (tabs) and they easily load.

Simple in its design and operation, yet includes all the necessary data features.

Clean basic interface with easy access to detailed information, including Forecast Discussion for you weather nerds.

Great app. Very easy to use with super graphics. One of the best weather apps out there.

A good experience. Good on locations. A accurate forecast. Would recommend for others to use.

I love this app, always follow the National Weather Service, also love the forecast discussion that this comes with

The most concise and accurate weather forecast that I have found! The interface is easy to use.

pretty good app. I like being able to track weather in different cities.

The biggest value is the radar screen where you can see where a storm is and how it is moving.

Best app I've used so far. Well......since intellicast went under and was replaced. Also like flowx as a back up.

I keep getting an update error every time I manually press the refresh button on the widget app, why is this so and is there a solution?

Current update (Sept/2019) is sporadically malfunctioning quite a bit, previous version (pre Sept/2019) was stable / functioning well

Simple, clear, and easy to read. The hourly graph is wonderful.

Next best thing to an official NWS app. I switched to it after Raindar stopped working.

Been using this for many years, best weather app I've used. The paid version is worth it.

Best weather app out there, I trust NOAA for accurate forecasts and I trust these guys for the UI

"Climate Report" gives an access error. Otherwise great.

At times when I refresh the app, it gives me an error that it can't be loaded.

Comprehensive easy to see weather info, and is more dependable than TWC.

Been using this app for Year's and I think it's the best one out there, if it had global coverage that would be great

This app has worked great for me. I check it 1st thing every morning!

Easy to set up and view multiple cities. Clean interface.

Great presentations of data but connections are not reliable.

Always very accurate but seems to be unavailable too often.....

Accurate, informative, clear and simple to use.

Great app. Lots of solid information with no fluff

Forecasts are generally quite accurate and that's what a weather app is for..

I like the hourly display. Would be nice if it specified when precipitation would start/end.

This site is closest to predicting correct weather as I've found.

Excellent way to keep track of weather throughout the United States!

Lots of errors updating from noaa. Can't be relied on.

This is by far the best, most accurate and reliable weather app available.

Great radar feature with fantastic zoom in/out range.

Works great. No ads tracking me around the web

Love this app! Great and Accurate information.

Does the job. Seems more accurate and up to date than other weather apps

It's okay and accurate but not that informative or fun to use.

Provides accurate and up to date information in a timely manner.

As a farmer that depends on a accurate weather forecast this is my go-to weather app love it!

Best weather app. Just like NOAA. Perfect!

Awesome app, very accurate no matter where I go.

Reliable, accurate, consistent.

Very accurate forecast. Hourly chart is great.

Current weather does not always load up.

Great app for checking the weather forecast.

Great info-- easy to access, accurate.

Current, reliable source for weather conditions.

Excellent weather app. Most reliable.

It seems accurate but has no content sometimes.

Only complaint is no future radar maps.

Excellent fast way to check weather.

It's right up there with the best accurate weather apps",

Works great with local weather and warnings

Flawless operation. Everything works as expected.

Excellent weather app. Clean interface.

The only improvement that I can think of is if it would let me pick the weather I want.

It's simple, and does exactly what it's supposed to.

GREAT APP!! Quick, concise, flexible

Use it daily! Easy "at a glance" presentation to see temperature, wind, precipitation projections for the day and for the coming week. WAY more reliable than AccuWeather. Love the radar option! A humidity reading would be nice.

Simple, easy, more accurate

App is very complete and easy to understand

Comprehensive without clutter. Awesome 👍

Clean interface, fast loading

Great brief summary (in words) for each day and night for 7 days. The hourly tab has a graph that some may not like, but the icon in the bottom right changes the format to a more common hourly breakout. Seems to be more accurate than many apps other people use. I traveled two states away last weekend. This app said they were getting 3 inches of snow. My friend who lives there said the tv news claimed they might get a dusting. They got 3 inches that night, and more accurate all weekend.

This is the REAL DEAL....the place where the rest of the forecasters go for THEIR information...

I bought the payed version because I don't like the ads, with that being said the only complaint I have is and it's minor, would be the radar map, using Google maps, it doesn't remember the zoom level I last chose. It's close to to my location but if want to see the surrounding states I have to zoom out again. It is a little annoying but not enough to not recommend it. And it is family library friendly.

I've tried several weather apps be over the last couple of years and really like this one. The UI really suits my personal preferences. My only complaints are the lack of lightning data and occasionally slow loading map data. I've seen this on all the other apps I've tried (not as bad on this one) so I suspect the cause is on the sources side.

I love the format & how it is displayed. Update of the current conditions is lacking. I must open the app to have the temperature displayed on the bar at the top bar of the phone.

One of the most accurate weather apps I've compared. Friends, family & coworkers ask what my phone says after looking at their own! Many of them have switched to NOAA as well!

The more I use this app the better I like it. Clearly the best of the bunch and NOAA Pro is worth the small price for the upgrade. Kudos to the developer.
