Excellent App - best non root player / equaliser by far in my experience. However there seems, for the moment, to be an issue running it on Pixel handsets (3a in my case) with the latest Android 11. Mine was running fine until the update to 11. It is now impossible to set the sources for the media library either manually or automatically. This seems to be down to Scoped Storage, being introduced in Android 11 with no support for conventional app access. This constraint was not due to be implemented until Android 12 apparently but it seems to have been introduced early in Android 11. Credit to Neutron support who have quickly identified and acknowledged something outside of their control with this and are prioritising a change to resolve this unexpected incompatibility with the new OS.

einstellungen One of the best music player to get, already using it very long. I only miss a more intuitive selection of my albums for playback, its been always little messy navigating through android directorys. I suggest a folder-based linking (album playlist) in the player or in the widget.

  3. Chandra Wibowo-avatar

manual Unfortunately ruined by the poor UI and UX. If you want to show off your music in social media this is not the app you want. App design may be relevant 15 years ago but not today. With this price you could hire a designer to maybe fix the UI. The developers don't seem to care. Navigating the app felt slippery. There should be an option for a library that display tracks only (with artwork) like most media player and not with the albums on top because I usually don't download the whole album.

  4. Audio Buff-avatar

    Audio Buff

apk UI is lacking. Seems the digital processing has slipped, bringing levels up in any frequency range cause clipping, as well as the gain control. Please redesign the media navigation, top of the device to the bottom to change your media selection, the back button closes the app on one touch. Please, I mean no embellishments. These are significant issues.

vs poweramp something is wrong with this app sound engine, the music starts playing lower after few seconds, and even on the highest volume it's not as loud as when the application is launched, pretty much no settings been changed to cause that, every other player has no issue, don't get why it happen, I use USA region to play music loud

  6. Nicholas Hébert-avatar

test True to its word, if you are an audiophile on Android this is the only app meeting even basic needs, but it also has more customization and features than a short review permits to summarize. Got FLAC? Choose Neutron.

spotify Hello, I have a problem and couldn't find the answer even in the neutron forum, how do I change the song list appearance? In the songs category, the order are by the album title and it looks so messy, I want them in alphabetical order by the songs title, could you guys help me asap? Sorry for the broken English, hope u guys get what I mean..

settings Not a bad media player but needs a UI update badly especially for the price. It's not 2001 anymore! Looks like $#!+ and there is no way to know what you're selecting in some areas unless you test and find out what happens next.

anleitung *Note for you guy's : it's not for newbie. Convert your music's Mp3 to OPUS~1024Kbps~48000Khz~VBR (music quality like Flac/Alac, reduce music file size and good audio clarity), i'm suggested you tried OPUS especially to reduce delay on bluetooth headset with high bitrate. Thanks Neutron i've been purcashed 👍. Seriously your User Interface need improvement but thanks we can custom UI colour. to don't forget activate your speaker/headset/bluetooth for enabling the equalizer.

head fi Most feature-rich music player on Android, no contest. Plus it didn't join the braindead cult of anti-design "flat design", and kept some good-looking UI elements, skru whoever is saying we are not in 19-whatever or 2000-whatever.

I've been using neutron for about 3 years. Yes, it takes some commitment and practice to get used to but that's what you get with an app that opens up more possibilities compared to the majority on the play store market. Once configured, smooth sailing. Never crashed or had any problems that weren't my own settings choices. Thanks for the super clean and open app!

  21. Glen Foster-avatar

I really do like this app and it is a worthy replacement for Goggle Music. However today has been frustrating. The app keeps being non responsive. I've tried to force close it, the cleaning the cache but no luck. Whenever it crashes, I've sent in the report. Hopefully that helps resolve the problem.

  22. Mikhail Krassavin-avatar

    Mikhail Krassavin

Best audio app ever. Period! I wish the interface wasn't as laggy though :) I'm actually surprised that it's laggy (I'm talking primarily about the scrolling experience) since it's based on OpenGL. Poweramp and others are running away in panic, when they see the crazy gazillion band customizable equalizer, full blown passthough, DSD, HD drivers, and a ton of other useful audio/network features

  23. Kevin Trejo-avatar

Will leave it rn for 2 until it gets Android 11 support. Rn it can't read my internal storage without root hope that changes in a future update.

  24. Krzysztof Czarnecki-avatar

    Krzysztof Czarnecki

It is a really good music player sound-wise, and bypassing Android media library completely is a great idea because stock Android library is really bad. Unfortunately album covers with aspect ratio like that on compact cassettes or DVDs are scaled badly and look ugly on lockscreen. It really shouldn't scale that much. And it would also be nice if it calculated the length of a whole playlist/queue, like PC Winamp does.

  25. Norman Gray-avatar

    Norman Gray

Was having issues regarding lock screen support upon upgrading to Android 9.0 on a LG V30. Took the advice given by a developer and and completely re-installed the app from scratch and the cache problem has now been fixed and have since updated my review from 3 to 5 stars! Great music player overall with tons of functionality! Highly recommend!

  26. Jermaine Kevin Newby-avatar

What's wrong with your App? Lately it's operating all by itself - I've given absolutely top class reviews in recent times, and I'd like to keep tradition. Is there an update pending? My playlists keep adding my whole music data, and the equalisers keep dropping to a setting that I haven't configured. I am not happy with this App at present...

  27. Jay Grandmont-avatar

    Jay Grandmont

A really nice music player. Especially like the cross-fading feature. Would love to see some intelligence built in to specify a minimum amount of time before the same artist is replayed in random mode.

  28. Ricardo Huaman-avatar

    Ricardo Huaman

Awesome player. But I just got couple of questions. 1)What settings makes the music volume come down when a song gets louder? It sort of goes up and down through a song. 2) an issue I've been having is that when I'm listening to music and the phone is in my pocket then I unlock it and if newtron is on the screen, I slide from the bottom to bring up my home button but at the same time slides a song to half way, I'd you know what I mean. Home button and song progres are in the same places. .

  29. AradTheAlifox-avatar

THE BEST music player I've ever used. The level of customization and amount of features packed into a pretty user-friendly player is stunning. With that, there are features that I wish were a bit better, such as the pitch-bending and time-stretching engine - Pitch-bending while keeping the same tempo sounds bad, and there's no semitone control. Spectrum visualizer is also a bit inaccurate, showing the bass frequencies as if they were boosted. Other than that, I really recommend this app!! 9/10.

  30. Saurabh Vaidya-avatar

    Saurabh Vaidya

The best Audio player in the market. With ugliest user interface. :P please make it theme friendly guys. I used other players like hiby and uApp also. But found this more interesting than others. But UI is tad basic and one who is comfortable with it is a rare find.

I figured somthing out for my self. I'f the app crashes due to setting arrangements, simply restart phone, then reinstall NEUTRON. After doing so it will still crash, but keep on pressing on the (retry opening). Be patient. Until it opens it up for you. When it opens the app exactly where you made the last changes undo them. Or set the NEUTRON app back to default manually in the settings and you should be ready to go brand new. I guess some of the tuning are alot more advance than the phones.

  34. Amit Banga-avatar

    Amit Banga

Great app. Works like a charm, except recently. There are no player options once you play a song on lockscreen or in the notification area and to change the song I have to re-open the app. Also, it keeps crashing after a song or two. Please fix the issue. I'm using android 9 on my LG V30+. Reinstalling the app did the trick. Thanks.

20 band Equalizer! Gives the clearest sound reproduction from high quality .wav files. Connect phone or tablet to powered FM stereo headphones via lead with stereo jack at both ends or to stereo amplifier via lead with stereo jack at one end and two phono jacks at other end; adjust bass and treble on amplifier/receiver and again, listen via headphones. Turn off cross-fade in app for glorious wide stereo. Installed on Acer Tablet with Android 7.6 OK. Also installed on older Alcatel Pixi 3.5 'phone with Android 4. This app is an amazing virtual machine, providing the highest quality music reproduction. Only in modern times! (Listening to .wav files ripped from my music cds using Windows Media Player - other cd ripping software is available - then copied to micro SD card).

Update: After authorising once then denying any net access I've not had the same no autorisation / 20min limit issue. Whether it is fixed or just prevented is uncertain, however I feel a more reasonable rating is now applicable. 4 stars as there are some bugs, notably with the wakeup alarm. Old review: Great app. Used purchased version for many years. Recently it seems to need to validate the purchase pretty much every time it is used. Which means no internet & you only get 20 min of use.

  37. Spencer Grady-avatar

Edit: i reset my phone completely and updated to android 10 and my balance issues were gone, but now i am having my device CRASH whenever im using the app. I can use whatever else for hours and hours, but after a less than 30 minute session with this app being the only one active it will completely freeze my device and crash my phone to where it restarts. Still the best sounding app around, i now feel justified in saying i can't recomend for the time being

  38. Bigguy 427-avatar

    Bigguy 427

Great app if you can stand the UI. Despite that, there have been some really nice updates as of late. My favorite feature of the app is the ability to bind equalizers to albums. That equalizer will stay with any song that appears in a playlist too. Great app for the audiophile, 👍.

  39. Utkrisht Sridhar-avatar

    Utkrisht Sridhar

5 stars because this app can connect to network shares and read basic song metadata and present them based on Genres/ Album Artists. Although it has a dated interface, this app has a unique feature not found in other apps. Only wish it could create smart playlists based on other song metadata like BPM, Comments, Grouping, Track number, Disc number, etc.

  40. Christopher Guerra-avatar

Only reason I'm using this one besides Poweramp is the compressor. Awesome feature that is a must have for turning any soundtrack into soft ambience. The scrolling is absolutely HORRENDOUS. It's terrible. Some more visualization options and fixing that scroll would really make this my number one. But if Poweramp gets an audio compressor, I'm jumping back to it.

  41. Florin Lupașcu-avatar

    Florin Lupașcu

Very good sound, if not the best, a mobile app can deliver... but an ugly interface, too congested and feels like not HD looking. If developers decide to revamp the design, this would be a mandatory music piece of software for every audiophile! Issue: using PCM to DSD is resulting in a powerful hiss over the music in pair with Sony SRS-X88 over Network/UPNP... which is very annoying. LE: Audirvana+ streams perfectly fine DSD64 to the same audio equipment through DLNA/UPnP, so it's capable.

  42. Tsar Nom-avatar

A masterpiece, this is the best music player on android. Btw can this player add profile setting or anything to change between channel 2 for earphone/headset and 5 or other for speaker?, i mean make it simple is better than setting manualy from audio hardware. It would be best if can change the entire setting for more than 1 or 2, like profil1 change all setting for channel 2 and profil2 can change all setting for channel 5 or other... i am thinking about compressor too. Sorry bad english

  43. ARB-avatar

This is a great music player! I was using Pulsar until it had issues with continually clearing out my music library, then tried this player and I really like how customizable it is. I would give it 5 stars of there was a way bookmark or automatically save your position for long podcasts.

The UI is daunting to say the least but the sound quality and the arrays of options makes up for it in spades. When played via Chromecast audio it sounds a bit more better even though Chromecast Audio has a build in DAC. Highly recommended!! Edit: the latest update makes d app sluggish when connecting to my Chromecast Audio .. pausing, playing or fwd/rwd d track cause a 3 second delay. Pls sort it out developers. Android 10 here with SD845

This app makes my downloaded music sound better than any other app. You will want try a few different settings. If you have a diverse collection, the normalizer feature is great to have. This is the only app I have found with a normalizer that works. I am very glad that android auto is now compatible with neutron. I play thru a lg g8 wi fi output to my marantz with klipsch 5.1 speaker system and it is a very immersive experience.

Plays a hell of a lot of audio formats, streams well over wifi, ridiculous number of audio options I don't know how to use. I typically either play from onboard files or SMB share via wifi, and I can just load up a stupid-huge number of songs and quite literally let it play for *days*.

  47. A Google user-avatar

As a suggestion - can we please have the following options: (1) EQ - save different settings option; (2) Oversampling for SACD/DSD over PCM - only. I'm ready to pay extra for these in a form of a plugin or something :) Otherwise, as I've said before, this is the best audiophile app probably on any OS. 5*

  48. Sameer Madhok-avatar

    Sameer Madhok

Very nice player and very good work by Dmitry.I don't find any problems with the GUI and design.Made for Audiophile users.Better understand first what are you doing and then play with the settings.Once you configure the settings properly for your hardware then you get bit to bit perfect sound.Settings are entirely diffrent for ARMv7 and ARMv8 architect.Network support is too good.Giving four stars instead of five because you don't get display of embedded album artwork present in id3v2.3 tag over UPnP/DLNA...when you select option of "Output To" to UPnP/DLNA media server; e.g(Kodi).After all fantastic work by Dmitry.

  49. RKM-avatar

Interesting MP3 player with lots of options, but trying to create a Playlist and actually ADD to it is very confusing. For 6.99 I expect something with more clear navigation. Other than that, the sound is fantastic. Just fix the Playlists and it would be perfect.

Outstandig DSP, perfect USB HW handling - so far the best audiophile player on Android. Not very friendly UI, once u get used is fine. Cons: SMB/CIFS cannot be used: in autodetection mode no servers are found, other android apps can browse them without an issue. In manual mode the share is shown with no content then invalidated (red) after refresh.

Not liking on Samsung S20. I loved this app on my BlackBerry Passport. LOVED IT!!!! BUT on this S20 it does not function the same. Main issue (right now) is the Playlists. On the BB, I could make a Playlist in the native music player and Neuteon would see and play it no problem. On the S20 ( Android), Neutron does not see Playlist made in the native music player, it sees import Playlist names but not the songs in the Playlist. For now, I feel I wasted $ on a once beloved app. Fixed this please!

Uninstalled after two weeks. App autoplays unexpectedly (such as whenever a phone call ends) and UI is a total disaster--no consistent navigation, inscrutable icons everywhere, media library difficult to access. Audiophiles/engineers may appreciate the deep feature set, but absolutely not for everyday use.

I keep getting notices that my free trial has expired so the app can no longer be used until I pay for it. I did purchase it and have been using it for months. The developers blamed Google for this disruption and said a reboot of my device would fix the issue. I get these notices quite often, so the constant rebooting is getting old. They also said accessing the app online would fix the issue, but I shouldn't have to do this. I need a fix ASAP. Update: I followed the advice from the developers.

An audiophile's haven. The equalizer, paired with robust audio controls, extract the full measure of my planars. No better music player exists for users of DACs and HiFi audio sources. While it's far from the prettiest app, Neutron focuses immensely on utility. My only hope is that the developer won't succumb to pressure, by turning their gaze on eye candy. Design choices are part of a larger conversation, but I hold NO gripes with Neutron as-is. It's super fluid on my LG G8.

Audio quality is undoubtfully excellent and as reported elswhere impressive controls. Yet... UI so complex ! Even to find the music files in folders is a challenge. What I mostly regret with this app for audiophiles is that there is no easy navigation inside a single music track. Same unprecise slider as in any other track. Made for short songs. If youe listen long recordings, made of a single file, navigationein the track is as difficult as any other standard player.

This media player is loaded with advanced sound processing options. Very nice. That's why I bought it. The weak point is the non-standard user interface. You do not use the standard Android ui idioms to design your user experience. It's very confusing and embarrassing and frustrating. Why not look at some prominent media players like Spotify, for example, and just copy their design principles? Your technology is excellent, but not documented and explained. The management of the various lists is clanky, and this is an understatement. I gave you five stars anyway, I'm sure you understand for yourselves that your user experience needs an overhaul, and you will pay proper attention to it.

I've been using another (not cheap) gapless player for over a year, but was never quite satisfied with the sound (and, there was still a small gap). BUT, and for me it's a big but, with it downloaded, and playing music my preferred way, using a portable dac and USB connection, if I then switch to YouTube and try to watch a video, there's absolutely no audio. Works fine via BT, but not USB! WHY? If the dev, or anyone, wants to contact me and explain how to fix this, I'd be eternally grateful. And I'd re-install in a heart beat. Neutron MP is the best music player that I've used, I've tried the other paid apps but nothing comes close to Neutron. Neutron is complex and sophisticated but in a good way, sure it may take some time to get use to the UI but once you learn it, the sound is just amazing. I've had this app for awhile, but for some reason, it stopped displaying the album art when playing, except for 5 or 6 albums out of 60+. I see many people in the review complaining about the UI. Honestly in my opinion, as long as I can see the songs and select what I want, I am more than happy. Also, there are so many music players with a great UI but none of them are as good as Neutron in terms of sound quality and output. What would you do with a great UI if it can't play quality music?? I mean, what's the point of having a "pro" music player if you can't really do "pro" stuff in it. I feel the UI should be a second priority which is quite the case with Neutron and I really speak on behalf of all developers when I reiterate the fact that an application must have a solid functionality first and a good UI next. So, Neutron Dev team, if you guys don't wanna pay much attention to the UI and wanna focus more on the functionality and features you have my full support and thumbs up. Keep up the great work guys!

This is a great music player with a boatload of settings. That being said, I have music on my phone to listen to playlists and the playlist features are trash. I've wasted enought time trying to transfer playlists and get the player to read them. Unless you feel like editing every file location of the songs on the playlist by opening the m3u file on your PC in notepad, I strongly recommend staying away. It should also be noted that this problem has been around for over 3 years (check their website forum) so don't hope for a solution anytime soon.

This is probably the best music player. Abilities of this program should be able to fulfill the most demanding audiophile. Be warned, you need to spend decent time to adjust all parameters. But then... Sound quality crushes almost every player. If it would cost 50 EUR I would still buy it. And one more thing for design lovers - there is amazing "show system wallpaper", and it works for live wallpapers. Result is beautiful!

I initially had the license validation problem others have experienced. I had the exact same problem with Poweramp, though, so I'm thinking this is some sort of Google Play/Services problem, not an app problem. Actually, on their website forum, Neutron has a discussion on this, " [WORKAROUND] Google Play purchased version - {Trial Expired}." If the suggestions do not help, click on "Contact us" at the bottom and someone will try to help you (although it may take a while for a response...). Dmitry is very patient and generously helped resolve this problem for me. -- I also had an awful time with the playlists at first and just about gave up. What I ended up doing was, rather than have a dedicated playlist in every app, I created a separate folder on my SD card labeled 'Playlists' and copied my current playlists (from a different app) there. I use that as a centralized playlist for ALL of my music player apps. I maintained the settings in the player apps to point to that folder. I also made a 'Playlist Backups' folder and copy the m3u files there after updating my playlists. That way if a playlist gets trashed I have a fairly recent backup to copy right back over.

Great music player except for one HUGE problem. There's no quit. Exit. However you want to phrase it. The FAQ says it will shut down within 5-30 min if you don't have background services turned on. This is not true, and it continues to consume the battery. More importantly, even hours after I've used and 'quit', it will still hijack BT connections, interfering with playing books on tape and podcasts (both other programs behave fine). This has been a problem since at least 2012 when I Googled for an answer. Note 9 Pie. EDIT: So after backing out of the app, and closing it out of background processes, it still hijacked the BT after 4 hours of listening to a book on tape, causing ear bleeds from everyone in the car, as BOT needs a high volume and music does not. Great sounding player, but it needs a frigging quit. Going to search for something else now. I'm just fed up with this program after a month of actively trying to solve this issue.

Neutron is a fantastic music player. For reasons I can't figure out, some music players don't see all of the files in my phone's Music folder, but Neutron saw them all without any trouble. The sound quality out of the app is excellent, there are a ton of settings you can customize, and when I emailed the developer to ask a question he responded quickly with an answer that solved the issue I was having. I've been using Neutron for nearly a year, and it's been worth every penny I paid for it.

Used to work. Now reports that trial expired randomly. If $5 I paid for it is not enough just say so! Infuriating! Now since I'm here. There is a new glitch. Starts playing on its own. Disabled all conditional controls, futile. Equalizer is powerful but interface is horrible. Stupid spectrum analyzer takes up space that needed for EQ interface to be usable. Settings not intuitive. Have been using this player for many years but so tired of it and looking for replacement. Jet audio is my second favorite sound quality wise but will have to switch cannot take it anymore.

Great music player for the meticulous audiophile's ears. If you don't know how to use the app please don't rate it bad. This player is so far the best sounding android music player, my only qualm is that it doesn't read other playlist files created by other music players (playerpro playlists can be read and played by other music players except neutron). Excellent features, flexibility, and sound quality. I love the fact that you can configure the order in which the DSP plugins are applied (ie, Compressor before EQ, or vice versa). Cons: The UI does not follow Material Design, and is a little difficult to navigate. In general, this isn't a problem, since you have very granular control over almost every aspect of the appearance. I also wish it had a side-chain output as a trigger for other DSP effects. (I'd gladly pay extra for this, though!)

  129. David Lockwood-avatar

IMHO the best player out there. Supports almost every format. Individual and global sorts, a great equalizer, excellent display of more than one cover per album(!), and most important to me, it supports sd and "on the go" support for flash drives, as I use an Android tablet that can handle otg. What else can you want? PS - After reading about other reviews complaining about the ui, let me say that once you take the time to learn it, you'll appreciate the deft way the features are managed.

No, I don't want to use Neutron by default! Rememebr it and leave me alone. Don't know if its an app related or OS related issue but it's annoying enough that Neutron had to go. Audiophile quality music player that is nearly perfect in every regard w/respect to the sound side of things. In regards to the interface, it reminds me of something I would have literally encountered from a system 20 years ago. Audio 5 stars, Interface 1 star. Loaded with features! Great sounding, robust file support, and more control over your music than you're likely ever to need. This is definitely worth purchasing if you truly enjoy music and you combine it with high quality headphones. Your ears will thank you. Update: I still stand by the above but as I've come to use the app over time, I've found it has a few annoyances for which I have to take a star off. 1) It imperfectly reads the file system to update the music library. I've had entire folders not get added, metadata get misplaced, albums get split between the artists' names and "Unknown Artist." If there is a way to correct this behavior, it's not apparent and my searches for help on this have so far turned up nothing. 2) Unintuitive user interface. Navigation isn't too bad once you get the hang of its quirks but many items are not clear as to their function, do not operate as expected, or apparently do nothing at all. It would be maddening if I kept messing around with it, but I'm calmer simply by resigning myself to listening to the music. It remains the best sounding music app for Android that I've found to date by quite a big margin, so I'll be keeping it.

Restoring one star as developer did actually work to fix the play/pause thrash bug. DSP, especially the compressor/limiter, are very useful. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Ugly GUI, but it works. The only music app I've seen that does REAL radio-style segues, though not automatically --- you need to dig into the settings to do that. None of that horrible fade out, fade up that all others do, even the paid ones; the only issue is with a song with a cold out; that tends to blast both songs for a few seconds. Once set correctly, one tune fades out underneath the new one beginning at full volume. Just like iTunes did 15 years ago. What's wrong with the other app developers? (If you're interested: Settings > Fader. Set in-time to 0, Out time to as long as you want.) Will play pretty much any format you'll throw at it. I'm taking 1 star off for the terrible-looking user interface, clunky and time-wasting playlist import system and not being able to import cover art.

Amazing crystal clear sound. The best SQ music player on the Play Store. Paid full price and I think it's worth it if you actually have better than average headphones and source. Highly customizable. The only thing that bothers me is the UI (and the home screen icon). It's ugly, but can be customized to look much better. Best app for playing music on a device with capable DAC. After comparing several other music player apps I can say this sounds far better than any other I've used. It has all the important settings and features that are missing or hidden away on other apps too. The user interface is fine and is as you expect on pro equipment. Just WOW!!! I've been a long-time user of Poweramp, but switched to BlackPlayer after experiencing issues with strange audio artifacts and performance drops with extended usage. It's almost like a memory leak issue, where it's not releasing resources no longer used before grabbing more resources. It "felt" as if it's internal memory management was faulty. I'd have to restart my phone before things would work properly again. BlackPlayer infuriated me with its inability to browse back to my micro SD card when choosing a new folder to play music from. I expected the experience to be such that it would remember where I was playing music from and simply display the current folder and allow me to browse back to other folders from there, but it didn't. Every time I'd go to view folders, it'd place me within the internal storage area instead of my micro SD card, where I'd been playing music from to start. Those annoyances lead me to Neutron. I'd read some great things about it and was intrigued. Today was my first time using it, and I was not disappointed! First off, HTF did it just make my car speakers perform in ways I'd never experienced!?!? It's amazing! I need more review space...

I want to love this app. I really do. The sheer quantity of options and DSP settings is wonderful, and the up-to-30-band parametric EQ is unparalleled as far as I know. But the UI is really atrocious. Nothing uses standard controls, and what controls do is not intuitive. I am slowly learning my way around the app by tapping things, being whisked away to something unexpected, and then trying to find my way back. -- EDIT: I have found the "randomize" function on the queue, however it is extremely clunky to use. For instance if I don't like the ordering and want a different random order, I have to exit the queue, long press queue, untick random, press the checkmark, long press queue again, tick random, press the checkmark, then tap queue and see what the new ordering is like. What other players do with one tap, this one need EIGHT, some of which are long presses which take longer to execute. Then when I return to the queue, I'm at the top, not at the currently playing track -- and there doesn't appear to be a function to jump to the current track.

Updated review: As the developers suggested in their reply to my original review, it was a DSP issue on each of my devices. This was relatively easy to resolve on two devices, but my Oppo Reno is running a custom manufacturer OS and leaves me having to force stop it every now and again. This isn't the developers fault, of course. Sound is now fantastic, sounds great in my car. I still think the UI is a little unintuitive, but I appreciate the sound quality and the response of the developers.

Have been using this since 2012. Has largely been a pleasent experience. However, lately I seem to have a problem ranging over all my devices (everything from Android 5.1 to Android 10) where internet radio keeps dying all the time. I am sick and tired of having to keep force closing the app and clearing the cache. And even that doesnt always work anymore. Instead of adding flashy 60 band EQ how about making the product more stable? Thanks.

The settings meant to control this simply do not work. Secondly the gain is hard to manage. It is always too low. Switching from BT to Stereo I'm nearly blasted out of my car. Sorry guys but Poweramp has neither of these issues. Oh, and one other issue. Turning this thing off short of force killing it is impossible.

Absolutely infuriating to use. The music quality output is freaking ace, top of the line, like silk on your eardrums! However, the whole UI feels made up by a group of transdimensional extraterrestrial beings, it feels like maneuvering through a surreal maze. Also, whenever I unplug and plug in again my DAC, the volume settings reset all the way to the top, blasting out full volume painfully on my ears. Additionally, I just can't, for the love of Christ, make it play the (extensively personalized and long) playlists I arrange on my pc; it just won't read my .m3u and .wpl files, nor it will read the playlist I make with my casual listening app (Sony Music). It's so frustrating it makes me want to hang myself with barbed wire. I think I am going back to USB Player Pro.

This is easily among the best apps I've ever used. Intimidating UI aside, this app is simply the best music player around. However, what earns it 5 stars is the developer. I've had problems with this app, and when I let the developer know, they quickly got back to me and explained that my phone's firmware (S10+) was likely to blame for consistent phone crashes. So, definitely get the trial version first to make sure your equipment will play well with the app.

**UPDATE** I seemed to have fixed my issue with the currently stopped track playing for a second after restoring the app by turning off all "Play if output attached" options. 4 stars. Would be 5 if the interface was modernised using material design queues. Its not very slick since I purchased the app years ago. Great support from the developers however 👍

This app used to work well enough that I thought its purchase was well justified. But then one day, for no reason, it started ignoring the mp3 tags of many song files and substituted its own. I meticulously tag all my songfiles via mp3tag so that I can pull them up in the library by artist, genre, release, etc. It's unacceptable for a media player to ignore tags and make up its own. Nothing I did fixed the issue; not retagging and reloading the files, not even uninstalling/reinstalling the app.

Amazing! I have used various music players for many years, and I understand technology keeps getting better and more fascinating as the years move on, but this player gives the user so much control over the music sound on your mobile device it is no doubt one of the most useful and advanced players for mobile devices I have ever used! Especially for my Android device. To appreciated this app and its power you may need to have a bit of sound education to get the total power it offers, but it is still easy to use for the novice sound editing user. With that being said, I would like to see a quicker way to access the User saved EQ settings, such as a quick drop down list to access any saved EQ Settings. Not a major issue but would be more convenient and fluid for changing the EQ when needed. I love the UPnP/DLNA, it works very well with my jriver Playlists and files on my desktop PC. Quite frankly, this is what i was looking for in an app like this and also a good EQ with sound boosting, and Neutron Music Player,Delivered! Thanks very Much, and keep up the excellent work!
