Nice app. It's very easy to use and is better than a lot of other apps. Good job

  2. guest-avatar

This app made my first ever trip to Japan as easy as it could be, given how reliant you will be on trains whilst you're there. You can adjust the departure time, it tells you which station, what platform you need to go to, how much the ticket will cost! Slightly over estimates walking time so you're never in a rush. I loved it so much, I showed other tourist I met in Japan the app

  3. guest-avatar

Great apps. But, there are some cons that I found so far: 1. If you reduce some first trip days, it only can cut the the last itinerary days. So, all itineraries that already made will shift to the number of days cut afterwards. There is no option to cut the first days, so, the itineraries already made still remain on the dates. 2. No date shifting feature to move all your day itinerary to another day.

I was already multiple times in Japan, without this app and manged everything. Last trip in Japan I used this app and it was very helpful. It contains multiple tools under one hood. Map, location guide, restaurant guide, transit guide (including expected Taxi costs) and more. I give five stars as this tool helped me very much. There is one improvement I propose. I missed local busses as transit proposal in the transit section. Maybe I searched wrong.

  5. guest-avatar

Excellent for traveling around Japan. We got to all of our stations perfectly. It even let us put in our passes so that it could search for routes that wouldn't cost us much. All in all great app to download for a person that gets lost easily

  6. guest-avatar

Please add Kansai Thru Pass inside. It is really useful that app can route with the pass. Thank you. Cause in Jan 2020, it will be my first time travel in Japan. The passes and train name are really confusing me.

Good application for travelling in japan by train. However, there are lack of some information for some routes. For example, platform number, car number that are reserved or go to other destination.

  8. guest-avatar

i can't login. i tried logging in via facebook but it fails, it says i am logged in on another device but i only access the site or app using 1 phone only. so i signed up using my email. i tried logging in again but i still cannot login. only a sign up button appears.

  9. guest-avatar

Cannot even find an address (address is copied from Google maps so it had no typos and is in unified format). Is it for trip planning?!

  10. guest-avatar

Super helpful to the tourist like us. The train system which looks complicated became easy to with this app. Just please add Tokyo wide pass in the selection of ticket as this is different from the JR pass coverage. Thanks

  11. guest-avatar

Love this app. It makes my first trip to Japan so easy and smooth! The route are clearly stated and I am able to prioritize routes with JR pass.

Much like Hyperdia in an application form! If you want the timetable to wherever in Japan whether train or bus (some company does not have, however) this app is just for you.

  13. guest-avatar

Downloaded this app to prepare trip to Japan for sakura Festival. Awesome app and very helpful information for first time traveller to Japan.

  14. guest-avatar

Great app to plan a trip, but there are some functionalities that could be added or improved to make the experience even better

  15. guest-avatar

So handy 👍great to have to see which lines you can or cannot use with your JR pass whilst travelling around Japan.

It is very nice and helpful app. I really like the guide and estimated time it has given. Very Useful.

  18. guest-avatar

This is a very useful app for travelling in Japan, I definitely recommend if travelling by public transport.

  19. guest-avatar

The best app if you want to travel by public transport in japan. Highly recommended!!

  20. guest-avatar

The perfect companion of your trip. Am planning my trip in advance and it is a real jewel of a travel guide

Informative, indispensable. Walking times are generous.

  22. guest-avatar

Great aplication. I can go to all around japan just use this

  23. guest-avatar

Still learning everything, but overall functioning is easy and helpful.

Very helpful when you're in Japan. It can tell us which train covered by JR pass.

We're planning our second trip to Japan now... And this app is really helpful. Thanks.

    Easy use and so helpfull

  28. guest-avatar

Traveling solo can be quite scary. This app guided me throughout my trip fabulously 👍

    Good application, easy to find

  30. guest-avatar

    Incredibly reliable and very useful

  31. guest-avatar

    perfect travel planner !

  32. guest-avatar

That was a great app before updated. Now it says 'cannot search a route because you're too far' every time. Even though embedded map shows my position correctly. Even though I search a route between two stations so my position is not required. App became useless because of this bug.

  33. guest-avatar

This app was very handy for my first time travelling in Japan. I bought a JR Pass and you can customise your travel options on the app to include routes that utilise the pass/other passes you can purchase. It also gives you fare prices which was great. Highly recommend if you are using public transport frequently in Japan!

  34. guest-avatar

    Sedfrey Junn Razal

Still Testing the accuracy and usefulness. So far its good

  35. guest-avatar

Very useful and easy to use

  36. guest-avatar

Best travel app design I've seen, why cant London create one like this? Got to applaud the Japanese for making this very functional and very SIMPLE. I've been using it in Japan for rail travel and its so perfect and it's in clear English. Top marks.

  37. guest-avatar

It works, and was helpful, but it's a damn battery hog that keeps GPS on for extended periods for no good reason. There seem to be better alternatives that aren't so wasteful of battery.

  38. guest-avatar

Highly recommended for anyone visiting Japan. You get precise timings of trains and route options. Good selections of places to visit and eat, things to do and great ease of use.

  39. guest-avatar

Essential app when travelling Japan, saved me quite a few times! Easy to use, no fussing around.

  40. guest-avatar

    Lucja Anchikoski

A really great app! The transport features are a huge help, it shows exactly how to get where you need to go. Just one thing that could be improved; it would be great to be able to select a JR pass option when you are making a plan, not just inthe route search. If there was a way to do that it would be 10/10, but as it is would still reccomend to anyone!

  41. guest-avatar

Looks great for planning a holiday. Only confusion is JR Pass. This App shows the best information I can find for train travel. Sometimes you have to pay extra, BUT how do you find that? Would be nice to explain how to read the itinerary and where the additional costs are shown or identified. IF anyone can help, Id appreciate the help.

  42. guest-avatar

Very helpful in planning my trip

  43. guest-avatar

    linzilin jeremy

Bought the premium app for driving around central japa. 1. App keeps crashing while driving (Very Dangerous). 2. Direction spoken comes in too slowly. 3. Won't find the place unless it is a popular location.

  44. guest-avatar

This app is fabulous and indispensable when planning a public transport journey in Japan. It however would be great if the search option had "via" for origination and destination, just as its original Japanese edition cousin. Without this via entry box, the search results can be poor. A better route you get in the Japanese edition using the via box cannot be obtained in this English edition by the lack of the via box.

  45. guest-avatar

Delicious Handy information 😋 for your awesome Japan Adventure 👌

  46. guest-avatar

Easy to use however you have to pay for step by step navigation if you are walking somewhere. Also if you have a jr pass and search with pass priority this app will have you walking an hour instead of recommending a bus/train that isn't covered by the pass. So it is either pass or no pass travel. I personally would like a combination of pass travel and pay travel options, whichever is the fastest and/or cheapest.

  47. guest-avatar

Just brilliant! After a trip around Japan I can advise that if you are intending to use trains and buses then you absolutely need to get this app. It also allows you to prioritize trips available with your Japan Rail Pass. Contains a great range of articles on a wide range of places and activities. This surely is the Gold standard of travel apps.

  48. guest-avatar

I came with my parents as tourists to Japan. We had been facing some non-trivial issues as to how to use the highly advanced public transit system in a foreign country. But with the help of this app, we were eventually able to surpass our difficulties, and were able to enjoy our tour. Anything less than 5 stars would be a serious understatement about this public transit system, and the app as well.

  49. guest-avatar

I went to Japan last time when I lost last train departed 23:00 to Narita airport. This application helped finding other way to go to Narita airport on that time. If I didn't have this application. One way of me is sleeping at the train station for waiting next train which depart around 05:00 a.m. thank you so much for making the best application to help tourist. Thank you.

  50. guest-avatar

This app saved me from being stranded in between Kyoto and Nagoya by providing accurate train timings that Google doesn't have. Love the new update which adds automatic trip planning. I wish all countries had apps like these. It would be even better if I could share a plan with my friends who are also travelling with me.

  51. guest-avatar

FANTASTIC! Really helpful as it gives you routes from your gps location so you have the quickest results instead of having to search routes from different stations. REQUEST: I would like to request an option that let's you start off from the direction tan every time you launch the app. Just a small thing.

  52. guest-avatar

Really nice. One suggestion would be to give the app some kind of memory. For example it's annoying to have to reenter information and then scroll down when I'm going to the same 5 places each week. I'd say that's one area where Google maps still wins out

  53. guest-avatar

Very reliable but make sure you look closely at the stated platform number(s). Wish I could remove the taxi option; it basically wastes one of the responses to a search. Would be nice to have current position dot on the strip diagram.

  54. guest-avatar

An absolute must for those wanting the get the most out of there JRPass. Works best if you also have Google maps since the walking directions leave a lot to be desired. Traveled by train for 2 weeks over hundreds of kilometers and the app was 100% accurate each time.

  55. guest-avatar

    Patrick Castonguay

great app , excellent navigation options. And I love the quick list of conversational item. however only the greeting section has English, written japanese, and pronunciation (for english). it would be great if the rest of the section like hotel

  56. guest-avatar

    Charlie Liggett

Planning my itinerary has been an awesome experience! You can't add custom locations and customizing your preferred route can be a bit of a hassle at times. But otherwise, the app is incredibly helpful and well designed. Once it gets closer to my vacation, I'll see how effective this proves.

  57. guest-avatar

Power hungry app. Location needs to always be on, so it may have caused app to use up 5% of S10+ battery over 12 hrs with just 5 min screen on time, together with poor app programming. I deleted it. The JNTO official app has similar functions, and while location is always on, it uses about 1% a day.

  58. guest-avatar

The previous app before it was taken over by navitime was cleaner and simpler to use to get rail information. Now the app continues to crash when I input a station or search for a rail route or expanding on the search results. I also don't have a large screen phone and the ad banners take over too much of the screen.

  59. guest-avatar

After update and name change this app is not very good.

  60. guest-avatar

Absolutely recommend it whenever you're going to Japan. This app is perfect for commuting in and around the major cities by train. It also gives you a fair estimate of how much your taxi fare would cost. Great travel app overall!

  61. guest-avatar

Once you're slightly familiar with the railways and you have your JR pass this app was awesome. I used it the most along with Google maps to find routes that utilized the JR pass (not all subway lines accept it). You can save trips you search frequently. Used it a ton for our first trip to Japan!

  62. guest-avatar

Was really fast and convenient route map but latest update added a bunch of other information I don't find useful. Route lookup isn't even the default tab. 3/26 edit: They added back the color coding on the train routes.

  63. guest-avatar

This app is very reliable and smooth in terms of use in train information and travel updates for tourist. Recommended this to both my colleagues and students for daily use. Extremely satisfied with this app and look forward to new features in the app, in future.

  64. guest-avatar

We travelled on public transport from Fukuoka in the south west to Hokkaido over 2 weeks and our confidence in the app grew every day. The platform numbers for the trains was especially useful. And now I've found the History and Planning tool! (although I still have to figure out the latter.) We also like the fact that it factors in the JR Pass that we are using. We haven't used attractions etc, but only because are visiting friends rather than sightseeing.

  65. guest-avatar

Good app, with limitations. The options don't have a 'travelling on JR railpass' button. This means you can't find timetable information on eligible Shinkansen It always defaults to Nozomi. The app also doesn't provide walking instructions. I found I had to use this along with Google maps.

  66. guest-avatar

    Dinda Damayanti

Very useful when I travel to Japan.. the train schedule is very accurate, especially when you want to maximize your JR pass usage..

  67. guest-avatar

Amazing app. Can tell you 5 choices of route. Accurate boarding and landing time Accurate platform name or number The problem I had are sometimes there is only Kanji for the bus station name and walking guidance like the Go****maps are not free

  68. guest-avatar

This app is a must if you are traveling Japan with the JR pass. The app can give you multiple routes to take , and highlights fees for the shinkansen as well if you need to take that and do not have the JR pass. You do need to turn on the option to include jr pass lines though if you have it

  69. guest-avatar

    Barbara Picking

We have just spent four weeks travelling all overJapan by train and bus and we could not have managed without this fantastic app. So accurate and easy to use, if you are heading to Japan don't go without this. It's invaluable!

  70. guest-avatar

Usually it gives good results for trains and subways (sometimes strange results) 2 major issues: Many times current location remains from a previous non relevant search. Maps are 100% unreadable so it's not possible to use the app for busses

  71. guest-avatar

i found this app very helpful when reserving seats with our jr pass on a holiday in Japan. You can save search results and it includes the details in Japanese so you can just show them what you want at the ticket counter.

  72. guest-avatar

Was great when we were traveling thru Japan. Love that it tells you exactly what to do. What platform. Even the station numbers and train colours. Makes travelling in a foreign country easier

  73. guest-avatar

So far this app has being very helpful. We used it last time we were in Japan to work out our transport schedules only, but this time we are also looking at how to utilise the app for all of it's benefits.

  74. guest-avatar

This has been SO very useful whilst in Japan! English version whereas the other one was all in Japanese. Excellent for journey planning, disaster monitoring news and tourism information! Great job :)

  75. guest-avatar

Great. Better than google maps for public transport in Japan. Drains your battery like crazy though.

  76. guest-avatar

Good information but constantly tracked in U.S. with too many annoying lockups needing reset. Then ignoring me when Typhoon Higabis struck.

  77. guest-avatar

It helps when I travel in Japan. But comparing with my Japanese friend. I found the search results in English version are different from and not as good as Japanese version, normally don"t include the best routes which Japanese version has.

  78. guest-avatar

    avishek kashuka

Its an excellent app. Used it in my entire japan trip and fully accurate. Better than asking anyone there. Only request to make place searching more predictive of lesser know places in japan. Great work keep it up

  79. guest-avatar

This app is a life saver for travel in japan. Easy to use and very accurate in arriving time of trains and buses. I used it in my first trip to japan and i never got lost of where to go or which trains to use! Works with japan jr pass perfectly

  80. guest-avatar

I don't like the fact that this app grabs copied information , like it asked me if I want to search the phone number I just copied in the app... For some it might be a good idea but for me not so much

  81. guest-avatar

Very helpful with my Japan trip. Less confusing and even show the next available train if I missed the one they suggested. Will definitely recommend to my friends if they want to go for their own trip.

  82. guest-avatar

Some functions are a little bit hidden and sometimes it glitches. However, this one feels modern and is far superior compared to the Hyperdia app.

  83. guest-avatar

it is better than Google maps in 2 points. 1.It can input JR rail pass for searching of direction. 2. it can make link of seaching each route. And input Google calendar, make schedule planning easier.

  84. guest-avatar

    Heti Nur Isnaini

amazing application, I could manage my agenda from place to time especially in Japan. then this application easy to use and give a lot of information about public transportation

Brilliant for traveling round Japan with a JR pass, and gives you the subway and buses too in cities. You want this, and a data connection. It'll make you go round Japan like a pro

For a newbie who's in Japan, I relied on this so much and it's very very useful and easy to maneuver around the interface.

  87. guest-avatar

Best App to use when traveling through Japan, especially Tokyo and it's surrounding districts. Useful information on price, platforms, time of travel & hasn't got me lost once. Would recommend the App everytime!

  88. guest-avatar

really good app - helped with planning my trip enormously. I just wish I could easily move itineraries around on days and between days (or customise routes more on the itinerary plan).

  89. guest-avatar

This app was so helpful! It was easy to use and got us where we needed to go. i woukd definitely recommend it to anyine travelling in Japan.

  90. guest-avatar

Fantastic app, helpful beyond imagination. It's like having a local tour guide in your pocket. Highly recommended! Great feature of being able to input your itinerary.

  91. guest-avatar

Used this all the time in Japan. It really did make things easier for us to navigate the rail stations while visiting. Will definitely use it again next time we visit

  92. guest-avatar

Excellent. MUST HAVE app for accurate and ease of navigation within Japan. No battery drain issue for me, just switch off background data and notification under settings.

  93. guest-avatar

Database seems a bit limited and I had "location" off, but otherwise this is really a fantastic way to figure out how to get around.

  94. guest-avatar

it's pretty perfect, just wish that it kept my recent places. sometimes it can be hard to find where you are looking for.

  95. guest-avatar

This app made my 14 day trip to Japan so much easier. The more I used and experimented with the app, the more I appreciated it's capability and usefulness.

  96. guest-avatar

I have only been in Japan a couple of days but I have found this app very useful. My Mom and I are Americans staying in Chiba (first time in Japan) and have been using the trains to sightsee in Tokyo. I recommend it!

  97. guest-avatar

Very useful apps! Just enter your boarding n destination stations n the apps will plan the routes based on your preference. Highly recommended!

  98. guest-avatar

Very handy and easy to use especially searching for train line. Best part is to incorporate JR Pass so you would know which train is covered.

  99. guest-avatar

This app is amazing for using the complicated train system. Tells you exactly how to get from one place to the other quickly and accurately.

Best Japan travelling app for me. Very informative when need to decide which train platform to go. I have installed many similar apps but this is the best.
