This is the real battery saver. No placebo and dumb marketing shenanigans!
Naptime lowers your device's power consumption while the display is off by empowering Android's built-in doze power saving functionality. Faster idle means less power being consumed unecessarily. By default doze can take a while to kick in so Naptime just speeds-up that process automagically for you.

It can also automatically disable W-iFi, mobile data, location & bluetooth as soon as doze kicks in.

Experimental features such as automatic Android Battery Saver, Aggressive Doze timings, Aggressive Doze scheduling times and location detection.
Now you have profiles so you can load them up on demand based on your usage and accessible from Quick Tiles.

Most features work if you're not rooted, but to have the full experience you'll have to root your device.

F.A.Q.

Q: Rootless mode?
To use Naptime's features without Root you need to grant it DUMP permission via ADB on your computer by executing this command:

adb -d shell pm grant com.franco.doze android.permission.DUMP

You also need to grant WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission:

adb -d shell pm grant com.franco.doze android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

After these two permissions are granted you'll be able to use Naptime freely.
Q: I don't receive notifications or my music streaming apps stop working after screen off. Please halp!
With 'Aggressive Doze' doze is being forced after you screen off. Doze is, currently, the most powerful battery saving mechanism on Android.

The following restrictions apply to your apps while in Doze:
· Only high-priority push notifications are delivered;
· Network access is suspended;
· The system ignores wake locks;
· Standard AlarmManager alarms are deferred to the next maintenance window:
· The system does not perform Wi-Fi scans;
· The system does not allow sync adapters to run;
· The system does not allow JobScheduler to run;

Apps like Gmail, which use normal-priority notifications, have them delivered during the maintenance window or when you wake up your device. This is standard behavior and can't be changed
Although, you can choose apps to bypass doze. Go to Settings -> Battery -> overflow ->Battery optimization -> All apps -> Your app -> Don't optimize
That'll allow apps like Spotify to bypass the forced doze and actually work on screen off.

Q: What's the 'Sensors app whitelist' feature?
It works together with the 'Disable motion detection' feature and allows you to choose up-to one app (sorry, Android limits us to only one app) to request sensor information even if you disable motion detection.
For example it allows apps, such as Google Fit, to query the accelerometer or gyroscope to count your steps.

Q: Why does my display, sometimes, blink once after screening on?
This might happen if you're disabling the motion sensors. The reason for this is simple, for system brightness & auto-rotate settings to work after screening on they must be toggled on/off (otherwise they won't work) and therefore it may blink (even if it's only for a couple milliseconds).

Q: My fingerprint scanner doesn't work when I disable the sensor motion detection!
Unfortunately not all devices will work fine when disabling motion sensor detection and in the process some other sensors & functionality might stop working. There's nothing I can do about it and your only option is to not use that setting enabled. There's also some weird compatibility with LG phones where the display doesn't even turn on again if this setting is enabled.

App ChangeLog

  • 1. Add option for disabling aggressive doze when listening to music
  • 1. Now force doze won't kick in if you're listening to music
  • 2. Better doze stats layout for better readability
  • 1. Made disabling Wi-Fi during doze work without root. More powa!
  • 1. If the disable data on doze option is enabled but tethering is enabled Naptime won't tear down your mobile data
  • If you enjoy Naptime please write it Play Store review.

Works great with Android Pie. However after I upgraded to Android 10, it won't remember the permissions I allowed for the app. e.g. When it goes to doze, a popup appears on the screen to allow turning off Bluetooth (I discover this when I turn on the screen). Allowing it does not save the permission, and I have to repeatedly tap "Allow" everytime I turn on the screen. I hope everything else is working properly. I'm using Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

This app actually helped me in improving my battery life, mainly when it comes to screen off time. Instead of loosing 25-30% while sleeping, I now only lose 10-15%. On top of that, the developer is really friendly and updates are frequent. I think i will be paying for the experimental features soon just to support him.

Great tool. Actively developed by passionate developer. Feature suggestion: reduce location accuracy during screen off. (ie change from high accuracy to battery saving) I use tasker to do this and it saves masses of battery if you use apps that regularly check location, such as Google location history tool. The setting is hidden in the android UI since pie, but setting still exists ;-)

excellent, however, now seems to gives big NlpCollectorWakeLock when waking up at night for example to run a scheduled Titanium Backup, on 3 phones including poco. Uninstalling naptime fixes it. That's why i don't understand it. Ok, will investigate further. When i switch to aggressive doze of greenify, no problem. When i turn off greenify nswitch back to naptime, nlpcollector comes back. I read somewhere someone had the same problem. Anyway, will look further.

Why it has not mentioned on the description that to disable wifi and data it will require ROOT on Android 10? It will just go in doze mode and won't receive notifications anymore since wifi and data feature is not there anymore. Last night it was in doze and no notifications came at all for the whole night which is not an ideal situation. Sorry, I really liked your app but not usable anymore on Android 10 and would like you to please refund me my in-app purchase which I made last night.

Phone: non rooted Pixel XL. Android 10. As per suggestion from Dev, "reapply doze" is more compatible for Andorid 10. Before v7.0, from time to time the adaptive brightness does not work when waking, forcing it go to 100% brightness until manually adjusted -- this happen in BOTH "attempt reapply doze" and "disable sensor" mode.

I use Galaxy note 9 I'm mostly at college My phone stays in my pocket around 9 am to 3:40 pm it goes to around 50 I don't know why? This happens after installing this app it jumped to 75 % this is great now I don't have to charge my phone twice thanks developer

You need this app if you don't have it yet. Legit, improves battery life. The dev is fantastic and listens to feedback. The latest feature is something I was wanting, now it's here! Highly recommend it. Support your dev

So far I have tested it with 60% charge and 25% charge. In both cases I had location and mobile data enabled and the phone charge didn't change much through the night. I will recommend it to my friends and family.

It's a great app and I like that you've put in a "disable ads option" dose what it says, unfortunately i can't donate because we don't have PayPal or any other on-line payment method, so at least I can Rate this app 5 stars

Please add battery monitor service like FK kernel app in Naptime so people who don't tweek kernel can monitor battery without always running 2 apps in background. It's more appealing to add battery monitor to Naptime as anyhow we need to keep in running in background for doze. Please consider this request.

OMG SUPERRRRRR This app is Magic! fix my bad Galaxy Note 10 battery management it helps and boost to 200% 😁 damn im so happy, for every Note user you MUST BUY this APP!! btw my device not ROOT just add extra effort in Usb Debugging, and the magic will COME !!!

I have a pixel 3 with crappy battery standby so i downloaded this app. Sorted app adb and permissions out noticing a small difference on wifi. Hopefully it will fix my worse battery drain on mobile data when i test tommorow

Excellent dev providing excellent tools! Wish the battery monitor feature in FK Kernel Manager was a standalone app. MIUI battery monitor and digital wellbeing both don't show times in hours/secs/mins in the simple straight forward format and its so nice having a notification there to see when testing.

I have installed Naptime on my LG G6 and gave the adb permissions but I don't know if it actually works. I can't say that I've seen actual battery improvement! I would like to support the effort but...

Great app! I'm confused about the purchase model. After I contribute, should I be able to use the extra features on all my devices? Or do I need to purchase it individually for each device? [Edit to add:. It kicked in on the other device the next day]

Loving it after Oct 23 update. Loving the experimental features. But motion detection doze mode disables the light sensor for adaptive brightness on my Mi A2. Dev prease make this work! 6 stars then!

this is one of the best app u can keep in ur phone.... ur phone will love it...mine already does...😍😍😍 but it doesn't seem to work on custom, beta and ported rom.... only in official stable rom.

Great app! Love it! One question about the not-root method though. Is it a one time process to enable app with adb or do you have to enable with adb Everytime you reboot phone?

Absolutely excellent app. I have been using your kernels ever since Nexus devices. I love you Francisco. 😘 Thanks for all your hard work and help.

Great app, works very well, does reinstalling the app means I have to go through the steps again to make it work with non root , for some reasons I can't see the doze history

Absolutely amazing battery life application! Very easy to use app for battery life customisation. Keep up the great work and updates! Edit: will you also be updating the nap time stats tab so say a graph or chart for easier reading too? :)

Excellent work. Can do a lot on my S10+ despite no root. Clean and modern design, too.

As I always start fresh when installing a new ROM, I need to purchase again to access experimental features. A restore purchase feature would be nice addition!

Doesnt work on android pie mi a1, the app isnt able to request root from magisk 19.x, its request keep getting rejected when it should prompt me to allow. -EDIT-: Nvm works on other pie custom rom, i guess it was rom issue.

I've always had decent battery life, but this app seems to help reduce overnight drain, also liking the new update, looks great. Thanks

Does a great job putting phone into doze more aggressively, constantly being improved with new controls or new ways to save battery.

Excellent app! Does so much for my battery! It's like night and day! Credit to the developer!!

Even after donating,it is still showing to upgrade to use naptime labs. Kindly solve the issue. Edit- Developer is not replying

Amazing app to extend your smartphones battery life! Works best if rooted, but you won't be disappointed regardless.

This application is saving so much battery for me. After 8 hours I'm still at 40%. On my OnePlus 6t running bootleggers ROM.

Latest update(s) are amazing. Idle drain went from 1.5-2 percent/hr to 0.5-0.8 percent/hr. Definitely recommended app!

Massive improvements in my idle time, overall I highly recommend if you want better control of your device's battery

Donation Done, App looks smart hopefully does what it says, im still testing ...... Only 1 Question for the Developer,, is there any problems if i use both Naptime & Greenify together ?????? Please explain , Thanks in advance

Loving the app and the dev. Can remove ads without paying... Witch led me to contribute donation. Great dev behind this app

Great app but it's more interisting if it has ability to hibernate user and system app (like greenify).

am using it on non root mode android 9 after enabling using ADB unfortunately it doesn't display stats and i can only toggle doze mode other options are greyish meaning i can't access

Noticeably improved my battery life, w/o impacting phone's functionality (as in missing notifications and the like). Proved worthy of donation.

Improved the standby time on my Note 10 by a lot. Simple setup, excellent app.

Great and useful tool, noticeable difference on idle battery drain.

Allow you to turn off ads. Never saw any app do this before. Thank you

Awesome app saved my lg g4 from scrap heap. One request i do have is a power screen off widjet button. Either way 5 star app and i will donate when i can... again many thanks

Great 🙂. Saved battery power effectively. Set up according to requirements.

Works as described and tweaks a little battery saving out of my device. Love it.

Great utility to manage the nap time of smart phones, save battery and Earth along the way.

App functionality is OK, but the new design is awful. Colors are hurting my eyes.

Works well. Notice a difference in idle battery drain on pixel 3

This definitely fix my pixel 4 battery issue, no root needed.

New 7.2.1 update not working on Xiaomi Mi A2. Whenever i click on doze stats & history the app is crashing.

Awesome tool, considerably increased my standby and screen-on times

used the app supported version for years, finally donated. great work by the way.

It works and i love how the dev is really passionate with the app.

Re-apply doze after wakeups makes the Gapps crash feom time to time, I have to force close them and open them again

Really easy to use( if you are ok with using ADB)

Help me to conserve juice on Pixel 3! With naptime, my SoT increases! Thanks for the great app Francisco.

The best battery saver i ever used my phone drained 30% before now its less then 8%

Thanks for fixing the bug so quickly.

App crashes everytime I try to view stats.

The best app which makes me sleep better at night knowing my phone is also sleeping well n sound

Gets the job done as it's supposed to and very well at that.

Kickass app. But either I'm dumb or ignorant cuz it doesnt work well with greenify. But yea I just got the. 9.0 update and just now hearing about the infamous task killer on the galaxy phones aka auto disable unused apps or optimize settings in battery that'll even alarms. Will it disable naptime in the long run? because I always have aggressive doze enabled and hardly ever open up this app.

I really love the app. The new tutorial for non-rooted users is great too! Just I don't see the switch for Disabling motion detection during doze. It was enabled by default and the option was there but now its not there anymore. Android: 9.0 Model: SM-G973F Edit: I saw you answer (thx btw) but I'm just gonna keep the question there if somebody happens to want to ask the same. Hope the next update includes that feature (if somehow possible) 😜

It does what it does and does it good. What more can you ask for? Only thing would be some way to bypass the conflict of automatic screen brightness "freeze" on Oneplus 7 Pro. Edit: A thought. In my case a toggle of automatic brightness solves the problem. 3rd party apps for screen brightness is a solution. App "Lux" screen adjustment on "on wake" is a nice compromise for example

App works great except one thing. I know it disables sensors for battery life and sadly in a phone call it does not enable proximity sensor so screen does not turn off. Im using this app with your franco Kernel. Please fix it guys. Great app.

The app is super useful, but on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9, using the "disable motion detection during Doze" option is buggy - if the screen is being turned too fast after locking, the screen brightness is being fixed to a set brightness (I need to retoggle the "adaptive brightness" feature for it to return to a proper brightness level) EDIT: seen your answer, and just curious if you can implement some better method with permissions using adb for non root users like me, for this feature to work?

The app itself saves battery very effectively, but using Tasker to send intents (example: com.franco.doze.DEACTIVATE_DOZE) does not seem to work. I wanted to use intents to let my fitness tracker keep getting gps. The last version that does this is 6.6.2 that happens not to control gps at all. But the intent function either does not work properly or is not documented well enough to understand its proper use. It would be very good to be able to turn off Naptime for several hours at a time (running a marathon, using gps to record exercise) then send another intent [with Tasker] to reenable Naptime. I've sent the developer a more detailed email with my test results.

Good, but really needs the additional functionaliy of being able to disable troublesome wakelocks as Amplify no longer works on Android 9.0. Forcing an immediate sleep state seems only to be half the battle.. Edit: how does your app "have nothing to do with wakelocks"..? When a phone enters Doze, wakelocks will only be permitted periodically in defined windows of time, no? I thought this app was designed to minimize the time that hungry apps can suck your phone's CPU and battery by improving Doze functionality, thereby limiting incessant wakelocks.. please correct me if i'm mistaken. Your app seems great for that, but Google Play Services still does its best to keep my device awake, and Doze does not really sleep system apps.

Hard to tell exactly how effective it's being, but having found ForceDoze certainly seemed NOT to be doing its job, then (coincidentally?) was taken off Google Play altogether, Naptime was worth a try and seems to save some juice over not having it running. Options are slightly different from ForceDoze, and it does not provide the immediate feedback about power savings, but the logs at least confirm when doze mode starts and stops which is an improvement! The only significant suggestion I would make would be to add detection of it running in non-root mode without the ADB tweaks in place - other apps I have that need that give clear guidance on their main screen until the tweaks have been applied. Sometimes get a settings cog appear in my notifications, but easily cleared when it appears. (Galaxy S5 Mini, Marshmallow 6.0.1, kernel 3.4.39, non-root). Update 1 July 2019: Not sure if it's working at all now. Get the icon, but there's nothing in the logs to say what's happening. Ah, OK, needed the ADB magic invoked again - seems to be a bit arbitrary whether it can survive a reboot or not. Please see previous comment re ADB/non-root. Nope, stats gone again just a few second later. Odd.

update: agreed, odd though I tried again fresh boot same issue anyway added star! not helpful on samsung s8 active oreo 8.0 It was great on my previous nougat phone G5 but not on this phone. gsam has a lot of system wakes compared to it off... even the graph lags due to plotting the system wakes, instead of showing a steady doze it shows a lot of tiny dozes in gsam graph. maybe oreo is not optimal and interferes maybe I can test the device idle constants by itself which I copied using tasker.

What a really useful app! I'm sorry i can't really donate anything, but in exchange I'll give 5 Stars rating!

5 stars only because no constellation is available. That good 👌

Naptime is one of the first apps I install after rooting; the disable location during doze is particularly useful for me. Just wondering - would it be possible to implement a disable Bluetooth feature during doze when it's not connected to any devices? Edit: thanks very much for adding the option to disable Bluetooth! Works perfectly on my Pixel 3a.

App works as stated, but after update the option to disable location and mobile data during doze are both gone. The option to disable Bluetooth is there, but that's not the one I need since I wear a smartwatch all day. What happened to the location/mobile data option??

Beautifully made, and diligently upkept.

Like the name says, it's the real battery saver.

By using this app i just drop 1%of battery for whole night thank you mate

Just excellent, even on my new OnePlus 7T with Android 10!

After the new update a notification showing 'Aggressive doze service(which I've enabled)' is always visible in my notification panel. I don't like it showing all the time but can't find an option to remove it.

results seem to be on par with standard doze on my moto g5 plus. most people will probably experience a placebo effect rather than any real benefits. your usage may be different, doesn't hurt to try i suppose.

Using it for past 2 hours and I can now itself feel that this app is doing wonders when screen goes off......good work Francisco...!!!!

Only says screen on, screen off, no doze after turning on aggressive and re apply. Really wanted this to work. Sent from S10+ AT&T would love to fix this to improve battery life.

Stops working after sometime after granting all permissions through adb. Even after battery optimisation is turned off for the app.

Works wonders on the Gen. 1 Moto Z Play. Near 3 day battery life with assistance of battery Mod.

It's working perfectly now. Thanks!

Nice app, it saves a lot of battery even when you're using your phone, it triggers the aggressive doze as well. Kudos to this app. 👍

Unfortunately i have to uninstall this app due to its incompatibility with my Galaxy Note 9. I would love to use the disable sensors option, but it doesn't enter doze mode with it enabled. Developer says there's nothing that he can do...

Helps improve standby battery life by quite a mile, but is it possible in a future update to disable wifi on doze on only some chosen wifi SSIDs like certain types of school and work wifi where they will definitely drain battery on standby?

how to use tasker with your app. I have tried your "brodcasts" instruction but it did not work. I need option to enable / disable your app using tasker.

Again app work like charm in pie update. Dev. deserve 5 star. Awesomeness

Everything is well explained within the app and it really does get results on a rooted phone.

Please add "no doze during navigation" even if the disable location is on. This would be a perfect follow-up to the latest no doze during download.

improved my battery life by about 20% per day!

Quite an extraordinary app. Hats off to you.

awesome new features with disabling Bluetooth and location! great stuff! went ahead and made a donation.

Happy with the app. Battery life appeared to be improved on both my Mi 9 and Mi A2.

Noticed an emprovement in battery life and its simple to use. Check it out. We should support the apps we need. Franco puts out alot of them.

App crash with this update. EDIT: Very quick fix and now the app is working again.

WoW. The new icon looks really cool.

Great app with great support!

The best battery saver for my android pie. it can reach 9 hours SOT. update: dev fast response answering my question, I really happy to donate. Donation sent!
