This is the real battery saver. No placebo and dumb marketing shenanigans!
Naptime lowers your device's power consumption while the display is off by empowering Android's built-in doze power saving functionality. Faster idle means less power being consumed unecessarily. By default doze can take a while to kick in so Naptime just speeds-up that process automagically for you.

It can also automatically disable W-iFi, mobile data, location & bluetooth as soon as doze kicks in.

Experimental features such as automatic Android Battery Saver, Aggressive Doze timings, Aggressive Doze scheduling times and location detection.
Now you have profiles so you can load them up on demand based on your usage and accessible from Quick Tiles.

Most features work if you're not rooted, but to have the full experience you'll have to root your device.

F.A.Q.

Q: Rootless mode?
To use Naptime's features without Root you need to grant it DUMP permission via ADB on your computer by executing this command:

adb -d shell pm grant com.franco.doze android.permission.DUMP

You also need to grant WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission:

adb -d shell pm grant com.franco.doze android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

After these two permissions are granted you'll be able to use Naptime freely.
Q: I don't receive notifications or my music streaming apps stop working after screen off. Please halp!
With 'Aggressive Doze' doze is being forced after you screen off. Doze is, currently, the most powerful battery saving mechanism on Android.

The following restrictions apply to your apps while in Doze:
· Only high-priority push notifications are delivered;
· Network access is suspended;
· The system ignores wake locks;
· Standard AlarmManager alarms are deferred to the next maintenance window:
· The system does not perform Wi-Fi scans;
· The system does not allow sync adapters to run;
· The system does not allow JobScheduler to run;

Apps like Gmail, which use normal-priority notifications, have them delivered during the maintenance window or when you wake up your device. This is standard behavior and can't be changed
Although, you can choose apps to bypass doze. Go to Settings -> Battery -> overflow ->Battery optimization -> All apps -> Your app -> Don't optimize
That'll allow apps like Spotify to bypass the forced doze and actually work on screen off.

Q: What's the 'Sensors app whitelist' feature?
It works together with the 'Disable motion detection' feature and allows you to choose up-to one app (sorry, Android limits us to only one app) to request sensor information even if you disable motion detection.
For example it allows apps, such as Google Fit, to query the accelerometer or gyroscope to count your steps.

Q: Why does my display, sometimes, blink once after screening on?
This might happen if you're disabling the motion sensors. The reason for this is simple, for system brightness & auto-rotate settings to work after screening on they must be toggled on/off (otherwise they won't work) and therefore it may blink (even if it's only for a couple milliseconds).

Q: My fingerprint scanner doesn't work when I disable the sensor motion detection!
Unfortunately not all devices will work fine when disabling motion sensor detection and in the process some other sensors & functionality might stop working. There's nothing I can do about it and your only option is to not use that setting enabled. There's also some weird compatibility with LG phones where the display doesn't even turn on again if this setting is enabled.

App ChangeLog

  • Nothing really exciting for you, but tons of reliability improvements for your doze to be properly applied when you need it to

    I change the first light idle after inactive time out then the other one light idle time out eventually changes to a much higher number is that normal and a few others seem to change I have to restore defaults for it to be at normal numbers I reckon. One plus 7t pro McLaren 4g eu. Doesn't doze anymore. I don't think. I check my mah drain when screens of per 10 mins using 3c and it's over 100mah for like a hour.

    This brilliant tiny app has made my Redmi 7A (MIUI 11.0.5.0) last practically forever in idle mode. It has a simple and clean yet stylish UI. I really dig the history of battery usage feature and the fact that it has a context menu shortcut for the app's icon.

    It is such a good app,calling it a "must have" would be insulting it. I haven't got any issues with it and needless to say, it makes my device consume a record-breaking amount (or rather, lack thereof) of power while not in use. Record is 0.2%/h but I couldn't maintain the "disable sensors" feature enabled cause I do rely on them for some automation tasks with other app. But! That only raised power consumption to as low as a mere 0.3%/h which is crazy! And that's considering my tiny 3000mAh bat

    I bought the pro version so that I'll get maximum features and set aggressive doze on. My phone still discharges by 15-18% overnight. Is there any way to fix this? Edit: turning on android battery saver reduces the drain to 6-8%. But logs always show 0s for both light and deep doze :(

    I'm not getting any Doze Stats and History from the past few updates now in my 2 devices( Android 8 and 9). I'm wondering if this app still works on higher android versions. Battery optimization is off and Autostart and Run background are on but still can't get stats.

    [update] 8.1.3 have solved the issue! Thank you for the prompt response. ----- Been using this app for a year and always been a fan of the app. Thank you for your constant update with the app. However, i believe something happened to the recent update, and my phone no longer entering doze as quick as it used to be. Thank you!

    In my experience it will save juice if the phone is left alone for a long period (ex: overnight), but won't help much if it's active but you're using the phone on and off through the day. Aggressive doze activation seems to trigger a lot of "job delay" alarms by the Android system, in order to delay numerous things that otherwise would have taken place. So this constant job delay (if you're intermittently using the device), seems to have a strain on battery as well.

    This newest update breaks a bunch of stuff. The stats in "Stats from last screen off session" are totally wrong. It's telling me I'm charging when it's not now. And the Android battery saver option isn't even working anymore. Also, you removed the "reapply doze" option. You should just revert everything back to a couple versions ago, everything was perfect then.

    So far, so good, i guess. Sir Franco, can you please check on "disable mobile data" option? It is not working for me. The rest of the options are working. Like disable wifi which is obviously turned on again automatically when screen on plus it is shown in the nap stats but not disable Mobile Data. I hope a fix will come soon. More power!

    What an amazing app that really should be built into android. Before installing this app my battery drain with the screen off was about 1.7%/hr and now after using the app it is down to a staggering 0.18%/hr. What an absolute must have app.

    Trying again on a new phone (Galaxy A40) with Android 10. Hard to tell exactly how beneficial it is being, but at least seems to be displaying meaningful stats which it never did on my old phone. Oddity though: went haywire last night, toggling between light and full doze several times a second for hours after exactly midnight, most likely because because a calendar alarm was triggered then. Didn't hit battery too much, but must have had some impact switching mode thousands of times like that.

    I really love the app. The new tutorial for non-rooted users is great too! Just I don't see the switch for Disabling motion detection during doze. It was enabled by default and the option was there but now its not there anymore. Android: 9.0 Model: SM-G973F Edit: I saw you answer (thx btw) but I'm just gonna keep the question there if somebody happens to want to ask the same. Hope the next update includes that feature (if somehow possible) 😜

    It does what it does and does it good. What more can you ask for? Only thing would be some way to bypass the conflict of automatic screen brightness "freeze" on Oneplus 7 Pro. Edit: A thought. In my case a toggle of automatic brightness solves the problem. 3rd party apps for screen brightness is a solution. App "Lux" screen adjustment on "on wake" is a nice compromise for example

    Works great with Android Pie. However after I upgraded to Android 10, it won't remember the permissions I allowed for the app. e.g. When it goes to doze, a popup appears on the screen to allow turning off Bluetooth (I discover this when I turn on the screen). Allowing it does not save the permission, and I have to repeatedly tap "Allow" everytime I turn on the screen. I hope everything else is working properly. I'm using Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

    This app has actually helped me a ton with battery, especially if your phone is rooted, definitely worth the features. Of course, the only setback is the money as you can pay for more features, or you can actually watch an ad to get access to those paid features for just a day. That's really consider of the developer, and I applaud him for it. Other than that, amazing app, definitely worth a try.

    The app itself saves battery very effectively, but using Tasker to send intents (example: com.franco.doze.DEACTIVATE_DOZE) does not seem to work. I wanted to use intents to let my fitness tracker keep getting gps. The last version that does this is 6.6.2 that happens not to control gps at all. But the intent function either does not work properly or is not documented well enough to understand its proper use. It would be very good to be able to turn off Naptime for several hours at a time (running a marathon, using gps to record exercise) then send another intent [with Tasker] to reenable Naptime. I've sent the developer a more detailed email with my test results.

    The app is super useful, but on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9, using the "disable motion detection during Doze" option is buggy - if the screen is being turned too fast after locking, the screen brightness is being fixed to a set brightness (I need to retoggle the "adaptive brightness" feature for it to return to a proper brightness level) EDIT: seen your answer, and just curious if you can implement some better method with permissions using adb for non root users like me, for this feature to work?

    This app actually helped me in improving my battery life, mainly when it comes to screen off time. Instead of loosing 25-30% while sleeping, I now only lose 10-15%. On top of that, the developer is really friendly and updates are frequent. I think i will be paying for the experimental features soon just to support him.

    Good, but really needs the additional functionaliy of being able to disable troublesome wakelocks as Amplify no longer works on Android 9.0. Forcing an immediate sleep state seems only to be half the battle.. Edit: how does your app "have nothing to do with wakelocks"..? When a phone enters Doze, wakelocks will only be permitted periodically in defined windows of time, no? I thought this app was designed to minimize the time that hungry apps can suck your phone's CPU and battery by improving Doze functionality, thereby limiting incessant wakelocks.. please correct me if i'm mistaken. Your app seems great for that, but Google Play Services still does its best to keep my device awake, and Doze does not really sleep system apps.

    When I turned on the screen of my OP3T, I was in Spotify as expected. Problem is: Buttons were unresponsive (home, back, recents). I tried swiping down to open the notification area, but that was unresponsive too. When screen was locked, fingerprint sensor does not work. I am no expert but is it possible that all these issues are related to the fact that OnePlus updates their launcher through the PlayStore and the launcher somehow gets put to sleep? No idea if this is a Doze or Servicely issue, because I have both. Forgot to mention, I tried rebooting by holding the power button and then tapping on Reboot, but the little circle kept spinning forever, never rebooting. Thanks!

    I like the app a lot! It really helps with the battery saving, especially disabling of sensors and other peripherals, like WiFi and Mobile Data. The only problem I have is that when I pay for the Premium features, the payment gets reversed after 3 days or so, resulting in conversion from Premium to Free app. I have done small amounts 3 times, so I have not had much trouble; the only trouble is the payment reversal (that too it happens AFTER successful confirmation of payment). Probably the only battery saver app that doesn't "save" battery power by showing some battery charging animation and saying it downloaded more RAM and everything is better now. Naptime is one of the apps that just work™. I'd really love if I could configure it so that it won't turn off Bluetooth unless there are no devices connected. Is that already possible?

    This app used to be a 5 star app. But ever since "force doze timeout = 5 seconds" became a labs feature this option doesn't seem to work at all. Even watching the ad doesn't make doze enable in 5 seconds. On older versions of naptime (the one with the old ui) it always sleeps in 5 seconds. At this point I'm not even sure if this app is even helping doze, if at all. The old version saves immense battery.

But still I had a persistent notification 'Aggressive Doze service' & battery savings too. It works well on my rooted OnePlus 7 Pro as well as standard Samsung Galaxy S10+ I recommend this app for anyone looking to save the juice on their phone or simply extend the mobile standby duration when the phone is idle

    Kickass app. But either I'm dumb or ignorant cuz it doesnt work well with greenify. But yea I just got the. 9.0 update and just now hearing about the infamous task killer on the galaxy phones aka auto disable unused apps or optimize settings in battery that'll even alarms. Will it disable naptime in the long run? because I always have aggressive doze enabled and hardly ever open up this app.

    At LONG last, an app that allows me to leave my rooted tablet on in sleep mode without losing 4% charge per hour (32% overnight). Using app's agressive mode on a Nougat tab killing wifi (and other items triggering kernel wakelocks) while in sleep mode. One flaw- wifi takes too long to re-enable after wakeup.

    Been a greenify lover for years, but as I'm not rooted anymore (lg v40 thinq) it's just a big battery drain. Naptime is improving ny battery a lot! I'm a frukost user with screen on average 5 hours a day and battery lasts between 20 and 27 hours!

    It works like a charm! When I left my phone with Naptime running for the night, as well as turning on airplane mode, the battery only dropped from 41% to 35%! I'll consider donating sometime this week...

    So far I have tested it with 60% charge and 25% charge. In both cases I had location and mobile data enabled and the phone charge didn't change much through the night. I will recommend it to my friends and family.

    App works great except one thing. I know it disables sensors for battery life and sadly in a phone call it does not enable proximity sensor so screen does not turn off. Im using this app with your franco Kernel. Please fix it guys. Great app.

    The app's good but this ain't a review. After updating my device to android 10, disabling wifi on doze option isn't available. I think I didn't find that anywhere on the changelog. Would we nice to know why that option isn't available.

    It's a great app and I like that you've put in a "disable ads option" dose what it says, unfortunately i can't donate because we don't have PayPal or any other on-line payment method, so at least I can Rate this app 5 stars

    Disable Motion Detection doesnt seem to be working on my Galaxy S9 :( when stationary this app is amazing but when the motion detection is fixed it will be the best app ever. I am not rooted, and it appears that after movement my S9 comes out of doze mode.

    results seem to be on par with standard doze on my moto g5 plus. most people will probably experience a placebo effect rather than any real benefits. your usage may be different, doesn't hurt to try i suppose.

    Mostly works well. However, on latest version with Magisk 20.3 on Android 10 February 2020 update, the doze Google Play Services Magisk module doesn't seem to work as Google Play Services is still not optimizable and it's still eating battery.

    I have just a one question ...why there is maintain time? Doze was off temporary for maintenance...what the..n in between battery drain on idle..i hate this..but i saw that while on doze it's fine nut if i put my device at night for 7 to 8 hours..it drains battery by 2 to 3% ...n when i check battery state or log in naptime app it says doze was off for maintenance 😓😥😥😥😤😤😤 using mido .... arrow os..not miui..
