Unbelievably improve the battery life during idle of your device by empowering Android's built-in Doze power saving functionality. It supports Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo and now Pie. It features more options for rooted devices, but it'll also work if you're unrooted.

Naptime also allows you to disable WiFi, mobile data, location & bluetooth during doze for that battery life /flex 馃

Because why the hell not?
Doze is amazing but with it has its quirks. It can take at least 2 hours to kick in (if the device is stationary, not charging etc). If you move around, even with the screen off, doze won't kick in, so there are a lot of potential battery saving opportunities lost, gone with the wind.

Naptime fixes that for you

Q: Rootless mode?
To use Naptime's features without Root you need to grant it DUMP permission via ADB on your computer by executing this command:

adb -d shell pm grant com.franco.doze android.permission.DUMP

You also need to grant WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission:

adb -d shell pm grant com.franco.doze android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

After these two permissions are granted you'll be able to use Naptime freely.
Q: I don't receive notifications or my music streaming apps stop working after screen off. Please halp!
With 'Aggressive Doze' doze is being forced after you screen off. Doze is, currently, the most powerful battery saving mechanism on Android.

The following restrictions apply to your apps while in Doze:
路 Only high-priority push notifications are delivered;
路 Network access is suspended;
路 The system ignores wake locks;
路 Standard AlarmManager alarms are deferred to the next maintenance window:
路 The system does not perform Wi-Fi scans;
路 The system does not allow sync adapters to run;
路 The system does not allow JobScheduler to run;

Apps like Gmail, which use normal-priority notifications, have them delivered during the maintenance window or when you wake up your device. This is standard behavior and can't be changed
Although, you can choose apps to bypass doze. Go to Settings -> Battery -> overflow ->Battery optimization -> All apps -> Your app -> Don't optimize
That'll allow apps like Spotify to bypass the forced doze and actually work on screen off.

Q: What's the 'Sensors app whitelist' feature?
It works together with the 'Disable motion detection' feature and allows you to choose up-to one app (sorry, Android limits us to only one app) to request sensor information even if you disable motion detection.
For example it allows apps, such as Google Fit, to query the accelerometer or gyroscope to count your steps.

Q: Why does my display, sometimes, blink once after screening on?
This might happen if you're disabling the motion sensors. The reason for this is simple, for system brightness & auto-rotate settings to work after screening on they must be toggled on/off (otherwise they won't work) and therefore it may blink (even if it's only for a couple milliseconds).

Q: My fingerprint scanner doesn't work when I disable the sensor motion detection!
Unfortunately not all devices will work fine when disabling motion sensor detection and in the process some other sensors & functionality might stop working. There's nothing I can do about it and your only option is to not use that setting enabled. There's also some weird compatibility with LG phones where the display doesn't even turn on again if this setting is enabled.

App ChangeLog

  • 1. Add option for disabling aggressive doze when listening to music
  • 1. Now force doze won't kick in if you're listening to music
  • 2. Better doze stats layout for better readability
  • 1. Made disabling Wi-Fi during doze work without root. More powa!
  • 1. If the disable data on doze option is enabled but tethering is enabled Naptime won't tear down your mobile data
  • If you enjoy Naptime please write it Play Store review.

The app works very well whenever the device is stationary, however whenever I move the phone it immediately leaves doze on my pixel 3 XL even though I have selected the option to disable motion detectors. This negates the main benefit of the app since I am almost always moving around. Further I wish there was an option so I could configure how long it took for the doze to kick in.

A really really really great app! Works great! Significantly improves battery life too! BUT! There isn't a single prompt to gain ADB grants, not a single in-app mention of the permissions. I went almost a week hating the app for not working. Then I read the whole description to see that this needs ADB and then granted the permission. Please add a prompt or a check signal to see if Root or ADB Permissions are granted

Very good but necessary things like alarm clock don't work. it would be great to have a whitelist for very important apps. i need a alarm clock to wake up. if you can fix this, your app is more than 5 stars worth.

So this is a kind of weird thing I am facing.. My phone is Lenovo Vibe K5 Note Marshmallow and is unrootable. I had used the adb commands to unlock Naptime. Two days back I did a phone reset and reinstalled Naptime. When I opened the app it didn't ask to do adb commands but all the functions were working. I did a cache & storage reset, opened the app again and yet it didn't ask for adb commands and all functions were working. I haven't activated Debugging in About Phone too. Is Naptime working?

this app is plain wonderful, except... it worked perfectly on all custom roms i've tried on my Nexus 5X. i went back to stock + magisk and aggressive doze causes my status bar clock to freeze. i uninstalled the app and it works fine.

Works like magic! 鉁 1% drop in 18 hours of deep sleep on my vince running Havoc OS 2.2 with Dark Ages kernel. Naptime is woven together with material design 2.0 and is optimised and is easy to use. feature request: 1. Could you add wakelock blocking for battery leeching apps? this might break some apps (but a togglable option wouldn't hurt 馃槄 ) 2. Hibernation mode as in Greenify? though this app is for forcing doze mode I reckon it would make it a whole lot better! thankyou 馃敟

This app was decent with decreasing my battery usage a little while in standby... but now with the new feature to disable WiFi while dozing without root, it is absolutely great. My phone's WiFi reconnects quick enough when the phone wakes back up that it barely affects my usage.

I am using Asus ZF Max Pro M2 (Stable Oreo Version).I have installed the app , but I am not getting any ADB prompt. Is it even working? Will update the Stars once this issue gets fixed!

It is an amazing app though it doesn't seem to be able to whitelist apps properly. Automate and Blocakada don't seem to be working even after being whitelisted and having permanent notification enabled. Also, enabling ads on the app doesn't seem to work even after disabling blockada. I really want to be annoyed and pay you ! ;)

I also installed this app and I'm sure it's very good but like some other reviewers with a Nokia phone the app seems to stop after a while and has to be re-started. Pity because if it were more reliable on the phone I've got I would certainly have gone for a paid version.

this app used to work very well, now i try to apply the manual parameters and tbey dont seem to stick (numbers return to their default values aftaer some time). when i try to see if its working by clicking on the history of events, its empty,so i guess its not working at all

Great! My Moto z was great in battery optimization when it was new. with new software update, specially Oreo, the battery optimization is basically non existing. with this app however, I can use the phone without power pack. Great job!

Installed on a Nexus 7 2013 running Android 6 and an Acer A3-A40 running Android 6. Neither device is rooted and the adb permissions have been granted. Works as expected on the Nexus 7 and has zero impact on the Acer. Claims that it is running and there are no error messages or crashes on the Acer. Too bad, I thought this could be good for older devices.

It is awesome app. Best thing to kick in doze mode quickly yo save battery. Although there are some application which isn't receive notification but you can always whitelist those apps. I appreciate your work. Cheers.

Quick question... If I enable this app and then remove a messaging app like telegram or whatsapp from battery optimization... I will still get notifications from them while dozing?

To be frank, this app is decreasing my phone battery life. all these days i believed that naptime helps for my phone battery lasts for longer. but i turned off it two days ago, then I observed my phone battery life increased 40% better. This app is not using battery, but i don't think this app is saving my phone battery life. my device is moto x4 running Android pie.

a question, will it stop my download progress ? just in case I have download queue. or something like that, uploading process, or kinemaster export maybe. sometimes, I leave my phone during long task like I've mentioned above. I'll add a more star after the answer

It solved the problem of battery drain when idle on my S9+. I know the dev since Nexus 4 days and he knows what he's doing. Thanks!

After receiving the April security update and updating my phone, naptime running continuously without a problem! Thanks for your support :)

improved my battery life but be careful if you work in a place without signal and are using wifi calling dont disable the wifi when your phone dozes!
