    Dies not work properly. As others have said when scanning code the phone gets half way across the qr code and then tries to connect. 2 Tom Tom shown in available devices, first shows an earpiece presumably if you want to connect for calls only. Second is Tom Tom device but says app is needed. Have unpaired and paired several times now with no success. Device says to open app and menu then connect. This option is not available. Bought the device a while ago and remember having same issue

    connect When you found several routines, in 2020 normal Apps, 1. you just need to select this Routine you want, 2. sent Routine to your Navi, Navi should start to work. But, but, but in this very Tomtom Mydrive App, you should: 1. save the Routine as Routine 2. Synchronise the Routine to Navi 3. Open the my Routine in Navi 4. Find the Routine from a long long list 5. If you didn't name the Routine a wrong one, then you can say, I can go with Routine I want, Just call it TomTom MyGod

    app - I can successfully update (maps) my "TomTom Via 135" using MyDriveConnect software on PC However I have 2 main problems: 1) My favorites on MyDrive (android app) are not syncing via my TomTom during this PC update (even when I successfully logged in to my MyDrive account) 2) When I connect my mobile using Bluetooth, I am able to receive all phonebook content and call details successfully. However I am not able to send and Favorites (on Android app) to my TomTom using "Send to device" option?

    app for android Nice app, works perfectly, looks great, connects easily with device. But... completely useless! It's even harder to create a route on this than in the device (Rider 550). If you have a one day ride you start by entering home as destination, you add points to you route and it continually reorders them. Thanks, but stop! Between my location and finish add them as I enter them, it's hard to reorder them. And, at 2020 years from Christ birth, just let me paste a Google Maps link. Ty! Uninstalled!

    connect software Update: the issue is the App, when trying to scan the QR code the camera does not try and focus, it's not the phone as scanning QR codes works for browser, WhatsApp Web etc etc... Despite being very clear on any other app, the camera won't focus on the QR code to connect to the sat nav (TomTom Premium) not impressive

    home I have to use it to connect my TomTom rider 550 (over £350!) to my phone via Bluetooth. I have found on numerous occasions that I have to delete the app and re-install it then set it up for it to work again for a day. I also found that I have to keep it open in the background for it to connect when I turn the GPS on meaning even while not in use it is consuming battery power. Tomtom please add the option to upload GPX files from ones phone to the app. Please look into these issue.

    connect login I've only been using this app for a short time but I find it extremely frustrating. Once you have planned a route it is impossible to modified in the app on Android. You're stuck with the choices of roads that the app chooses. Even if it wants to take you on some random little loop you cannot change it. I'm able to make some edits when logged into the website but not the app. I've reinstall the app to no effect. This seems like pretty fundamental function. Very disappointed with my purchase.

    connect not working Bluetooth rarely connects and it keeps getting "forgotten" by the phone. TomTom appears to have totaly failed with Android. Still not as good as any 10 year old TomTom with a SUNA aerial. Read through the two years they STILL haven't fixed the Bluetooth issue. (And good luck contacting support).

    install I totally agree with mostly everyone a very poor app. It took me a long time to get my phone to reconnect to my Sat nav. I had uninstall the app and restart the sat nav which was a complete nightmare when you can't get it to connect. This has happened to me twice now and its becoming a joke now. Someone need to sort all the major issues our asap.

    connect servers busy Ok when it works, but often cannot find route. This does not even beging to describe the pain involved to get the device itself (rider 550) connected. A gps needs to work every time, but sadly it seems tomtom is failing here. "try again later" is just not good enough, not by a long shot.

    You think that in 2020 devices over 300eur are user friendly and come with a convenient app. I guess not. Browser version works fine for the moment, but this app lacks lot of "working functions". My routes (that show in the browser version) won't even show on the app. Adding a route via gpx file in the phone is not available.

    Not very happy with this app. Just bought a go camper. And having problems with texts messages works some times and then does not. Have installed and re installed. But still doing it. Phone calls OK. UPDATE I have gave it 5 * now as it works 100% on samsung S 10 Lite. Which i am pleased with. So it does not work propley on hauwei pro 20.

    Bluetooth connection does not reconnect after switch-off. It pairs up to my phone with no problem. Done from within app. However, next time I use the Go620, the connection seems to be lost. Was working fine up until about a month ago. Factory reset and re-installs of Android app make no difference.

    Useless. I have to uninstall this app on a weekly basis as connection to my phone is lost. After a new install works fine after a week, unable to conbect. It's not my phone or my go essential sat nav. Uninstall the app, reinstall works for another week the here we go again 1 star rating is being generous. Robert. REPLY TO TOM TOM TEAM :: I have done the factory reset + app uninstall and reinstall as you suggested many times. It just does not last more than a week. Average time is 3 days.

    Really would like to use this app, especially for last mile nav / find my car, but it's just shite. Battery drain and connection issue needs to be fixed first. Why does it need to run in the background when not in use? Also like everyone else I was having to reinstall the app each time just so it wasn't displaying the disconnected message constantly. It's been a whole year since the last update!

    Had trouble downloading app. After 3/4 tries it eventually downloaded. Just spent 2 hours waiting for it to install and still not working. Just spent £350 on a Rider 550 sat nav and can't use traffic update. Should have gone for the Garmin like my last sat-nav. Dont like to give bad reviws but there is nothing good to review at the moment. Will amend if things improve. Have been trying for the last 2 days to install the app but still no luck.

    App keeps crashing and can't get my tomtom to connect to my phone to get traffic updates,I've sent numerous reports but still the same been like it weeks now,very disappointing. After doing what was advised it still crashing on load up so can't pre plan a route the night before.sort it out.

    I use MyDrive to plan custom routes for days out on my motorbike. The thing that's missing for me at the moment is the option to upload a gpx file from my mobile phone and sync it to my TomTom Go app, for times when someone else has planned a route, and can send me the file so I can follow the route, rather than having to put the waypoints in myself, and then sync. I can do it by logging into MyDrive via a browser, but it'd be easier to be able to do it within the app.

    It's really too much outdated. Really don't take it negative but in 2020 when there are lot of other options, we are not seeing any new updates which can increase the speed of app and provide new features according to driving. I am a loyal customer of TomTom and using TomTom from long time. And I am professionally a driver. As I have nearly more than 1000 addresses saved in my account which I need to visit. Tomtom is not up to mark as google maps. Really improve it before it get to late...

    Some of my places here just show as co-ordinates but are named on the android go app. Also there is no ability to share a favourite with another tomtom subscriber. Answer to response: they were manually added on the android go app (possibly by long press on a road and add to my places)

    Edited: I had the same trouble as everyone else, ie the app kept losing connection with my phone. Uninstall and reinstall of the app plus forgetting the device didn''t work either. I have now done factory reset on the device plus uninstall and reinstall the app etc. Need to see if this works. Further edit:. It still doesn't work. I should have just used Google on my phone, that works far better. Avoid the product, a pod the app.

    I have the Tom Tom 550 and it keeps telling me what to do in the my drive app to get my contacts on there but every time I go in the app the instructions the sat nav are telling me to do, int in the my drive menu. None of the options even work. The problem is that if some one text or rings, it don't show on the sat nav. You don't get instructions with it and they're is no videos so it's not working how it should do for all that money

    Using the app on my phone, Huawei Mate20x it is very patchy to connect to Bluetooth. Sometimes it will connect to my Tom Tom 520, however most of the time it will just show as a generic device! Also have found that I have recurring soft reboots of the phone for no apparent reason when connecting the phone to my infotainment system on my car (2016 Kia Venga) that stop completely once I have unistalled the app. Very frustrating.

    Terrible. When editing a route, it keeps removing the wrong points. I press destination to remove and it removes the in between points. No quick button for showing photo locations and hotels etc as it has on the website. Website functionality is 10 times better then this app. Doesnt even come close

    Could be much better. I bought TomTom as I was annoyed with Google maps, but looks like TomTom is not a better alternative. Please add exit button. Also it constantly remembers my old selection and showing as a final destination.

    So frustrating. When it works this app is great But I have to constantly delete the bluetooth pairing on my phone and on the Tomtom. It will then work a few times and then refuse to connect. I have tried it with 3 totally different Android phones and it's exactly the same.

    Dreadful app. Uses a serious amount of my data and battery when it is not even connected m so far 10 per cent of my battery has been used by this app and I have not yet opened it! Your sat navs are great but this app is utterly awful. Please sort it out so we can get the best of it.

    All of a sudden my phone won't pair with my device. It is visible from my phone. I uninstalled the app, now I can't download it from playstore it just keeps saying waiting to download. I can use the tom-tom for traffic but it won't receive calls or messages any more

    I like this app, the caravan, towing option is good, but when will you add the option of towing into tomtom go?? Once you pass the route into tomtom all the useful options are just gone. Would be a useful feature to have for the adjusted journey times, speed limits etc

    The Rider 550 is connected to my phone, but it does not receive data from it. The app shows that the device is out of range. The Rider 550 displays "Unable to connect" under the "Data for Traffic & other services"

    I am very disappointed. This app along with my tomtom device was amazing. Now it wont connect to bring up the traffic report! I have followed the guidance of factory reset etc. And still no luck. Why is this?!?!

    TomTom service and website are rubbish - rather cheat on customers - promise something and never deliver - never update maps whereas it was promised that maps will be updated free for life but it is fraudulent statement or simply a lie from TomTom - the website is too badly setup that it is hard to use - and TomTom sells things which never deliver. Curse on TomTom.

    Always a pain to use. Unreliable. Bluetooth connection always a hassle. Difficult to build and amend routes. Saving a route on the app shows on the satnav, but saving a track/route on the satnav doesn't show on the app! The list goes on. These and other issues been raised for months/years and still not fixed even although you say you're working on them. Last update on Android app was July 2019??? Spent hundreds on top satnav of industry leader - completely disappointed

    A great app that makes route planning so much easier than on older Tomtom devices. However I have my concerns over battery drainage, my phone battery now drains quite quickly. Its becoming so much of a problem that I'm considering uninstalling app, which means I lose traffic my updates. I also think that it would be beneficial to be able to transfer .itn and .gpx files via bluetooth instead of having to plug in a lead. This would make the Rider 550 a truly wireless device.

    Got a VIA 52, the last update wiped my Australian map, tried to download it several times but failed. The GPS can't be connected to Mydrive and all updates are done via WIFI.. I had a lot of trouble with upgrades before. Called support previously about another upgrade problem. They blame my WIFI connection, really? I dont have any problems with updating other programs I think I will dump this piece of junk to the bin and get a Garmin, after all they make a lot of GPS for commercial use. I would not recommend this product Just read all these post having similar dramas.

    98℅ of the time the app doesn't connect to the tomtom, I've followed all the steps suggested (format tomtom, followed support YouTube video), but no luck. Even when it connects most of the time i cant see either the messages or the traffic doesn't connect. Very poor experience. Edit after reply. Thabks for the reply, i figured that out but every time i turn on the tomtom device i always need to do this procedure! Forget, unistall the app, reinstall the app and re-add the device.

    Very good app, but power usage is again way too high. Using 31% of my battery without even using the app. And I have activated Battery Optimization on My Drive. Please remember to test power usage before releasing new version. Thank you very much in advance. I tested the app two days ago and still too high power usage. I have now uninstalled the app. Might try it again later on.

    Traffic info works for a while then won't connect even though bluetooth is connected, sometimes this can be cured by logging out of my drive and logging back in other times uninstalling the app and reinstalling it works and the last resort is factory reset of the sat nav. Surely a simpler solution is, i) install app. ii) pair with phone. iii) use as designed. It is very frustrating when you need the sat nav for a long journey where you will need traffic info to have to go through this hassle

    Junk, you literally cannot plan a route it just sends you on the fastest route - you have to add in a ridiculous amount of points to get it to send you on the way you want. A piece of paper with the road numbers on, taped to my petrol tank is honestly more useful at navigating a motorcycle route... Edit: Surely that defeats the object of this app? My sat nav it automatically goes to the fastest route if I select to, if I plot a route on my satnav it does that route. Why do I need the app again?

    I have got TomTom go 520, it is very good but my only problem is that the app mydrive is draining my phone even when i am not using the app. Even if i force it to stop still is working in the background somehow and draining the battery. I hope there is a way to stop it from working in the background or to only working when i need. !!!!

    This app is using too much battery while not in use. I can't find an option to stop the app in the background when not in use. Thank you for the comment, I am using Live Services too, but I don't want this app to drain my battery when I'm not navigating (which is most of the time). Force closing the app every time after use is not a user-friendly solution. I'm sure with a little effort this app could be improved (and background activity could be optimized when not active or bluetooth is off).

    Every time my new tomtom 620 pro connects to mydrive it crashes and goes into a loop of starting and crashing. The 620 is less than a day old and will be getting returned.

    Utter shite. So many flaws that TomTom are entirely oblivious to, or just don't bother to fix. They've had this programme running for years and they've not fixed it. Pathetic. Never buying TomTom again.

    Connecting with the app is always hard. Bluetooth connection always works, but to get the app services working is just hard. You have to try and figure out the complex series of steps in the correct sequence to get it working. Sit in car, turn app on, turn ignition on, it if doesn't work, turn tomtom off than on again, if messages don't work, restart tomtom. If that doesn't work turn off tomtom, restart phone, start tomtom again. Consider reinstalling app, or repairing bluetooth. Ugh.. How about turn tomtom on or app on in any order and it just works! PS TomTom regarding your below response. Did you not read what I have done. Been there, done that. Every iteration you can think off. Stop putting the blame on the user. Just write a better app! You just lost one star.

    There's an obvious thing missing, if you set the Nav in your phone to avoid highways for example, the navigator on the windscreen does not hear about that setting when getting the route instruction and you end up...on the nearest highway ! 😡. All data and settings should be transferred at least from phone to TomTom (maybe the other way as well, not so sure !)

    I'm only giving a star because I have to. Maybe I'm unfair but I've been waiting for a working app for three years now. I stopped using the app after a year, waiting for a update. In the end I use BT tethering on my phone to the satnav in order to get live traffic updates. I only install the app to pair the mf. It will be the last TomTom I buy. Gmaps can do the same job.

    Drains battery. It's necessary to have app for traffic data etc but drains battery quickly, EVEN when app is turned off and Rider device is OFF and not connected, WHY? Lots of folks complained about this - come on TT, sort it out. Also, on the 550 have to "Forget" the wifi connection to be able to use traffic data via bluetooth on the phone. When want to use wifi again (to check updates etc) then have to re-enter all the details and password again, surely a toggle isn't beyond TT's ability?

    Suddenly cannot send location to GPS. Anyone encounter this? I cannot send location to go 520 using the app. Is this an error? Have been followed few updates. Follow instruction to uninstall and reinstall the app also cannot send location to GPS. Update July 2020: It has been a year since last App update, the send to device function is not working after many many reset device and re connecting the device to phone. Only can work for message and phone call. Disappointed. Still cannot receive.

    I like the ability to save my favourite locations on the app (helped when I had to do a factory reset), plus the ability to call hands free since my car doesn't have this functionality. The app seems more stable than it used to be. Minor frustrations are that the app constantly notifies me I am not connected to my satnav device if I have Bluetooth on, and has recently started notifying me that I have Bluetooth off. This has led me to switch off notifications for the app.

    Not a good app. Or website! Difficult to make a route, not user friendly at all, then when you do save the route you want mydrive syncs it to the device as a useless track instead. Or you can send the stops to the device, and it makes a route different to the one planned. Forget abnout mydrive, just use the device on its own

    tomtom traffic data not working on bb key 2 and bluetooth ... works in app not working in device ... keep saying "connecting" ... only way how to make it working is wifi hotspot. edit: factory reset, app reinstall, bluetooth delete and pairing it is still working for one-two days and then traffic data is dead. Basicly only deleting and repairing device before ride is only way how to make it reliable working. Which make it useless :(

    It's alright for long distances but there are serious problems on acuracy. I've used tom tom for 3 years now, and I still need Google Navigation if I need acuracy and updated maps. With every update made and tom tom still doesn't recognise car parks and majority of adresses. I'm surprised they're still an open business.

    This APP is annoying, you plan a route and save it to MY ROUTES then the next time you open it, it changes the route completely it is totally unreliable, wanted to use this as I have the Rider 550 and I like to plan the night before but this APP can not be trusted so I have to mess about before I leave

    Sharing the more complex route from the app is faulty (faulty web link generated). The same when sharing the route from web app (clicking the route and sharing). The only correct way of sharing the correct link is in web app, clicking modify the route and then share, then it works. Please correct that. Another annoying thing is the impossibility to import .gpx in the app (in web app it works). Please correct this inconsistency. Best Regars.

    Very handy. Send destination by phone to tom tom. Save to favourites, input destination & it gsend to nav (it asks). It makes using the sat nav easier as you can use your phone to input send to nav & save your phones battery. Easy to navigate & reminds you of sat nav updates. What sat navs needed.

    If I knew for non reachable TomTom chat support, and some differences between mydrive app planning rout (and that rout synced on device) and device planning rout, and suddenly turning around the same point while navigate... I would probably still use my Calimoto app using my phone and save my almost 400 euros. Now I'm very sorry because I have paid for new Rider 500.

    Hmm the jury is still out on this app. Not been able to try most things out as I cannot get the at code reader to focus on my devices code. Update I'm still having issues with connection and the ability to use the device for handsfree calling. No support from app and tomtom itself isn't giving me any clues.

    Good app but does drain your phones battery when not in use. I simply "Forced Stop" in the App everytime after I use it. Does the trick. I've got 3 Tom Tom's and you know that they are good divices and improved even more so over time. Cracking bit of kit.

    Works well, but there is room for improvement. When planning a route locations saved in 'my places' do not appear in the search results. You cannot use the app to edit the name of a location in 'my places' once it has been saved, you can edit it on the device itself though. Also no way of uploading GPX files through the app, but this can be done through the website.

    Functionality is OK but having it run all the time using up power is very bad design. I shouldn't need to kill the app whenever I am not using it. Please fix asap, TomTom. edit: Closing the app as recommended by TomTom does not stop it. It continues running in the background and uses power. It needs a rewrite so that it does not start automatically and shuts down properly. Edit: OK, after the last update it restarts every time it is force stopped. Changed review to 1/5. Uninstalling.

    Overall not a bad app I would have given it 4 but deducted 2 due to the really annoying feature of automatically zooming back to your current location every single time you go back to the app or if your screen locks, even if you're not navigating. Makes trying to use it to monitor an area on your route before you set off really difficult. an option to enable/disable this would be useful.

    Having had this app for 6 months, it has got much better apart from the same 2 fundamental problems. 1. Why does the app autostart when phone is switched on? It has to be force closed twice to stop it running! It should only run on demand when required. 2. Live traffic connectivity with the device is flaky. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, so it's not reliable. What should work seamlessly take twice as long as it should. Please resolve these fundamental issues TomTom.

    It's a very unreliable app. Connects to the TomTom 6200 randomly. Quite often will not connect to the internet to download directions. Have to uninstall and reinstall it quite often, and even then it may not pair properly. The Go 6200 isn't much better either, so a lot of the time i just use google maps on a 7" tablet I purchased to do the same job!

I have lifetime map ans speed camera updates.     Huge battery drain..... Have a rider 550 and need app to get the most out of hands free when I'm on my bike.... but it switches on automatically all the time and runs in the background. Even on the sofa at home! Other than forcing a stop through apps there is no way to stop it starting up on when my phone is powered up. Come on please sort this & stop blaming individual phones, which I have seen on your support site. Just give us option to manually switch on and off.

    Where is the search ability in My Places? If I have an extensive list, I have to scroll through and read each one. That is not practical! Also, I've reported road closures on several occasions. If TomTom don't want to share this information with the community, then at least let my device know of these road changes, instead of routing me to the same road which is closed.     the app is okay, though I've had to remove it from my phone as i was travelling abroad, not using the app or satnav at all and it was using 30% of the battery in a day! This needs to be fixed as it can't be correct. Also have problems pushing destinations or routes to the satnav via mydrive. When it works its great but most of the time it doesnt sync.

    Maps with mistake, example from Versailles to Paris center on A13 show 2m height restriction, more than 2 years no one change that, and I drive coach over there like hundreds other buses. I found dozen mistakes on maps, and when I try to report them, I just found so complicated way to do that over cell phone, complicated and after all without success. Try to contact them on FB, mail..but always redirecting to frustrating solutions. Igo and Garmin use 95% accurate maps, TomTom is on 60% and less.

    Annoyingly on all the time, draining my phone battery. Why can't I just launch this app when I will be driving? Please update the app asap so it can be used only when needed. Cameron - sadly your response isn't accurate. If you just close the app in the normal way it continues to run in the background, my phone keeps producing messages asking me to connect to the sat nav, and messages telling me the app is draining my battery. The only way to stop it is to go through various settings screens and press "Force Stop" . And if I turn bluetooth on or off the app returns regardless of whether I have stopped it- this is really annoying! I feel like uninstalling the whole thing.

Google Maps does what I want, without needing a separate app. The average rating of only 3 put me off as well. Germany can do better. I may have the wrong product.     I like the app, with my Go 520, but the app is a battery hog on my up to date Samsung S7. Even after closing all apps, restarting the phone, and trying to Force Stop the app (which seems to fail, no matter how many times I try to do it) the app still sucks up 10% of the battery capacity. Why is it impossible to persuade MyDrive to just go to sleep until I open it, like with other apps?

    Have to use this app for the in car device to receive traffic alerts. That's all I want it for. This app soaks battery power. It is ridiculous! Also, you find an address on the device, correct number in the road, and the app decides to store it as a different number. I'm getting my Garmin repaired and should never have ventured back to TomTom that I rejected years ago.

    The app is fine but does run in the background draining the battery even when not using the satnav (higher drain than any other background service). Tried force stoppong it but doesnt seem to respond. I am using a Moto G6 on Android 9.0. Update - After advice from TomTom I factory reset my Moto G6 phone and reinstalled the app but the issues are still there - wont connect via Bluetooth to my Rider 500 satnav, can't turn the app "off" or force stop, and battery drain seems high. Uninstalled app.

    Updates for Sat nav work without it. Response by tom-tom team was good, who did say app was more for planning. The use as a way of handling phone calls does not work on my mate 20 Pro (huawei) but app says phone does not support this. Something isn't right. Whether it is phone or app or a combination is not clear. Never had issues with earlier version of sat nav or any phones I had.

    Unreliable connection with TomTom device & traffic services. I spend more time trying to get the TomTom device to actually connect with the app than actually planning trips. The device randomly unpairs with the phone and even when bluetooth connection is established and Bluetooth tethering is on, the app often can't recognize the device. Unusable and I will be asking TomTom for a refund if I cant find a fix soon. Not recommended at all before TomTom fixes it. edit: Tried suggestions, no luck.




    There are no words! It keeps disconnecting from my phone every 5 seconds. No way to put your own "home" address in the search. No way to search through "my places". On top of that every 5 minutes my sat nav makes a decision that my android phone isn't actually android and stops some features. This app needs a million improvements. So much money paid for the new device and it's not working correctly! This is extremely frustrating.

    cached traffic jams persist and are not cleared. Manually clearing all data works but you have to do it all the time and it's not just this phone as had similar issue on my previous phone. Trash application. Also displays jams all over the place with the circles that need tapping to see the delay, displayed randomly in other parts of the map etc

But i am mostly disappointed by the fact that speed cameras can't be saved online, if my phone doesn't connect or there are issues with traffic service I can't check them, and it's not like that fixed cameras move around..     I have a chuckle reading all these people with battery draining problems on their mobiles after installing the app, even if you are not using it. This problem has been around for at least 2 years on my Pixel2. Do a search on the official TomTom forum. Everytime the TomTom response is the same, turn off wifi, Bluetooth etc etc. After having had tomtom devices for at least 10 years, this will be my last. Google is looking pretty good these days..... Good luck getting the draining problem fixed.

    very confusing app that needs far too many permissions for my peace of mind, all with no explanation or rationale. truly unimpressed Further review. after some sort of update, i can now only connect to my phone as a text input device, no directions or audible warnings. Google maps is currently my satnav until this is sorted. this is an expensive and frustrating unit, unlike the older rider tomtom which worked until the power supply failed. I no longer trust my expensive satnav or the useless app

    Didn't get chance to check app functionality. It hogs your phone resource and drains the battery quickly. Wouldn't be so bad if you could turn it off when not in use, but unfortunately you can't. The only way I found to tame it was to uninstall. The device is great but the app is just too dominant to put on your phone.

    The sat nav itself is much better than older ones but my galaxy S8 connects, via this app, for hands free calls and messages but refuses to connect for traffic updates which is the main reason I bought this sat nav. I've tried following the app's instructions but it just won't connect for traffic. Rather disappointed and may have to return the devices itself.

    I have used this app for some time with no problem and found it very good. I recently had to reinstall after phone repair and now it's not syncing reliably and only with Data. Does not work with wifi so is pretty much useless to me. I end up using my pc which is inconvenient but works. I have it on my phone but only for emergencies.

    After each update app cannot connect with a Navi and with a TomTom servers. Obviously all via-phone services like Traffic do not work. The only way to go around is to uninstall the app and install it from a scratch...After LAST UPDATE I have pop up messages from TomTom app every minute or two. I click on them but nothing is happening. After some time quiet and then again. Annoying. BTW, can you help instead of redirecting us to the useless TomTom customer support?

    Since the app was updated on 18-12-18, every time I start either the car or truck engine, when the sat nav isn't switched on or even in the vehicle I am in, I get a notification to connect to the device. Also when driving using the sat nav it keeps disconnecting and have to keep reconnecting. None of this happened before the update, just had automatic connection.

    I have a new phone (Huawei P20 Pro) and have tried to connect it to my TomTom Go 520 for traffic data without success. Ironically the phone connects for voice calls but not the most useful part i.e. live updates and alternate routes. Why have I wasted so much time and money on the Go 520 satnavand this useless app. I have had several advice messages from TomTom before, but basically this piece of kit is not fit for purpose. A decent company would either make their tech work or refund me so I can but something that does work.

    I am not sure if its the app that is the problem or my new rider 550. Just purchased a 550, needed this app to find my phone. From scratch everything is working. I turn off 550 then go to use it. Start the app turn on my 550 and Bluetooth is not seen on the app even though my phone says its connected. On the Bluetooth setting on my 550 the status is connecting, not connected and repeats. I have to reset my phones network settings for it to work again. Help I'm away in 3 weeks. Tried 2 phones.

    Even though I need it maybe once or twice a year, this app is ALWAYS RUNNING and keeps putting itself in the foreground anytime Bluetooth is enabled. It's eating about 2% of my battery nonstop. Totally unnecessary. Also, it comes with a builtin map which is utterly useless. Why even include it if you cannot use it properly? The TomTom itself is very nice but this app is only good for one thing: the trash can. Would totally recommend trashing it.

    The QR scanner doesn't focus to read the QR barcode in order to complete the smartphone connection to my tomtom device. Will there be a future update to rectify this? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, also set the screen to full brightness but still no improvement. Hopefully an app update will fix the focus adjustment of the scanner.

    Kills my phone battery in the background (even note 10) and sat nav is very slow when connected some of the time. Disappointed Edit: some more testing revealed the TomTom go camper is slow often when it starts when not connected. It takes over 2 minutes to respond to a key press. The device is new and has had 2 system updates since I bought the device a month ago.

    Up to yet, it works pretty well. It would be nice to have a little more functuonality around the traffic checker as it has only two slots for wotk yo home and home to work. It would be greatly appreciated if other routes could br added as I double up as a Dads Taxi and often have to pickup family from different locations. Therefore a list of destinations to be at for a given time would be nice with the software monitoring the route from your current location to your next destination.

    The app works in that it allows your TomTom Rider to connect and receive traffic information, but... when you install this app it constantly runs in the background, consuming memory and battery power and always shows a notification "Connect your TomTom device" even if you have no intention to use it. Why they couldn't simple add an option to close the app is beyond me, killing the app doesn't really work and it automatically starts when you power on your phone. I now delete the app after use.

    I have had to reinstall this appalling app several times and have just uninstalled it. I have a HTC U11 which has been constantly crashing. I have removed this problem solved. You Should Be Ashamed Of Yourselves. I cleared all cache including hidden, no change. The problem was created when I blocked phone calls and texts. Prior to that all was fine, apart from the fact that the voice instructions keeps activating and will not turn off. It's also very slow. TomTom used to be better than this.

    App is constantly running and shows a permanent notification that can't be dismissed. In addition, because it is permanently trying to link to the TomTom, it interferes with my Fitbit using the Bluetooth on my phone. It barely actually connects to the Sat Nav when needed, often stating the device is out of range. TomTom just keep telling people to contact support, but these are functional issues with the app that need fixing, not individual cases.

    Firstly, because this app is running constantly in the background, it runs the battery down at an alarming rate, so it's far better to update directly from my Tomtom device Secondly, I recently replaced my Tomtom One, which I've had for years but is no longer supported with a Go Premium X. Although there are several useful features on the new device, new voices cannot be downloaded, the volume on traffic warning signs cannot be adjusted and all the traffic warning signs have the same sound

    3 stars for a useful product idea, 2 stars missing for its problems. We still use our Mobile GO. It's practical. But installing MyDrive prevented GO from opening. Removed MyDrive and GO is again working. A shame for I thought using MyDrive on the web ideal plan this year's tour. Looks like using Google maps again. Thank you TomTom for replying. I used your web-link, logged in, selected support, etc., etc... went to "write a new email" and repeatedly got "unable to perform this action, please refresh the page and try again" Try again?

    Drains battery, often shows disconnected and no traffic updates when phone is paired and connected with satnav, internet connection is not an issue. Better way is to setup a wifi hotspot on phone and connect the satnav this way. Works always and without the app. That doesn't mean the route is always the one I would like though.

    Room for lots of improvement. For instance: places added as coordinates on the device are named as the coordinates themselves rather than the name given to them on the satnav. No use at all. Cant make map corrections and in general doesnt seem to do much of anything the devise can't already do. I expected worlds more from tomtom. Disappointing.

    it works though I am not convinced my old Scala Q2 is working well with new Rider 500, and my Samsung S9. but...the software should tell you the connecting order!!!     It used to be fine, now since the last update before Xmas it's constantly giving random push notifications and is very annoying to the point I'm considering getting rid of it.EDIT 8/9/19 - The notifications that pop up are all the same, the bar across the top of the screen pops up, as any other push notification, it just says Tomtom MyDrive and it give the notification sound 4 times in a row, this happens half a dozen times per day.

    Tried for hours to create a bus route with this app, can't imagine anything more frustrating, this is a simple task with Google maps with the down side being you have to touch the screen to continue to the next stop. The fact that the Tom Tom I bought is for professional drivers makes this difficulty even more unbelievable. You should be able to draw the route on the map and then touch points on the map to create stops.

    The app won't connect to my device VIA 52, it works the other way the VIA can see my phone and says it's connected, but when I go to connect in the app on my phone I am taken through the connection stages and it asks for a QR scan, but the VIA doesn't generate a QR code to use. The rest of the app appears to work fine.

    Update to MyDrive required access to my 'call logs' which I was not prepared to allow - no details provided as to why TomTom required my phone log data. MyDrive is seeking excessive personal details. MOBI1964 Since my phone automatically deletes the phone history log everyday then TomTom cannot determine who the next caller is and that is how I want it. The vehicle inbuilt bluetooth phone system uses my contact data to indicate who is calling me. MyDrive shall continue to be deleted from my phon

    If I prepare a route and turn on round trip it makes a beautiful route but it saves it as a single route. Seems to be an error on the software.

    So just updated the app as when I was planning a route for my truck it was avoiding every A road and motorway possible for no reason so now its been updated and I can't even plan a route, really TOMTOM your app and Truck satnav is the worst on the market nearly 3 years I've had this and its only been getting worse, think you guys need to employ people who actually know what they are doing.

    🤬 Don't bother! Had my phone, galaxy s7 connected via hotspot and bluetooth to sat nav 450 without the app. For live cams etc. decided to download app. Sat nav decided my phone didn't exist! finally paired but would do nothing. Uninstalled app and sat nav won't connect to my phone at all now! Couldn't post review without 1 star or wouldn't have rated it at all.

    This is actually shocking. I am getting notifications LITERALLY every 2 seconds and that isn't an exaggeration, it's non-stop buzzing. The notification only says "TomTom MyDrive". I have disabled all notifications and the problem persists. I CAN'T EVEN POST THIS AS THE NOTIFICATIONS ARE COVERING THE "POST" BUTTON.

    since this last update i am constantly spammed with notifications saying connect to your tomtom or connected to your tomtom. happens more frequently when i connect or disconnect to any wifi network or Bluetooth device. edit. i hve tryed the troubleshooting steps which have been given to me this hasnt fixed the problem. i also have a new problem the app is using roughly 50% of my battery even though im not using my tomtom device

    Starts up on its own whenever a bluetooth device is connected (TomTom or otherwise) and there is no method of closing it without going into Android settings and force closing. When I want to use it, its slow, clunky, and claims most functionalities are not available on my phone... A shame its relied upon so much by the TomTom device.

    The Tom Tom GPS itself is great! Easy to do updates over Wifi and easy to use. However this app I've uninstalled again due to it being a massive drain on the phone battery. Without the app or even the phone open, it has used the most battery life in the background over any other app. I have cleared the cache several times and I need my bluetooth on for my smart watch. This is the main issue and still isn't fixed even after a year. Tom Tom really need to address this battery draining issue.

    This is a very useful app but I have same issue as Michael Williams, very high backgound battery usage even when not in use. Even setting to restricted, and force stop doesn't seem to do anything. This is unacceptable and I will have to uninstall it.

    I used the old version of this app with an S7 but was unable to connect for data for travel on my Tom Tom 520 with my S8. The suggested fix is to update the software but I am using April 2019 version. calls and texts work, but it's the travel info I need. UPDATE Effected a fix by resetting the TomTom device and restoring factory settings. Not sure what the issue was but this occurred after an update to the TomTom itself. Blue tooth connection is unreliable and requires turning off and on. Sad.

    Not impressed, I have a TomTom go satnav, it's great, but this app is not. I've taken it off my phone it takes ages to send details to my satnav, quicker to input destination directly. It's supposed to talk to my satnav, well if it does it obviously is using a different language and then to suggest I should sign in on the same account!!! How many accounts do you think I should have? Just took a star off for that comment

    The app itself does updates and route searches fine BUT it is badly behaved. It turns itself on all the time and uses lots of power (currently it has swallowed 38% of my total battery in under 24 hours). It should be easier to control as their are no settings to control the above problems.

    This app is terrible for my phone, drains battery like crazy " always running in background" always says it's not connected to my tomtom, even though I have latest updates for the app and my device and always reset my tomtom, tomtom says it's totally connected, app says "connect to tomtom" Samsung galaxy s7 edge latest firmware often formatted.

    More issues have arisen today. Q. The app no longer sends coordinates to my phone. Many speed limits are wrong. Voice control listens to my radio and changes my route. There is no way to contact TomTom except by telephone as their web site is totally useless. So I have given you a 1 star as that's the only way to get any help between 12 and midnight.

    Needs way to many privileges. Why does it need to read my call log and make phone calls. Can't connect to you own tomtom device without it. Ridiculous! Will try Garmin because I refuse to accept the permissions. As to the comment of Tomtom: please make your features optional so you can use the app without giving your phone away.

    This application doesn't match with tomtom rider 550. Always connect for once but when you switch off tomtom rider didn't connect again. I tried everything that was said on this application rate comments and forums but resulted for nothing. Please can work out on this application and on updates so we (bikers) can use the full function of the ride? Thanks.

    Edited to reply to TomTom. My phone reports that MyDrive is using battery in the background, and it is the only app on my phone that is reported to be doing this, so I reiterate, why does it continue to use battery in the background when I close it? When closed it should be closed.

    Very poor. Uses different mapping to the satnav so it can't find some postcodes in the UK that the satnav can. Insists on offering similar place names in all sorts of countries before it looks locally in the UK. Worst of all, connection with the satnav is very intermittent. Type everything into the app, all OK, then send to satnav - nothing happens. When it does work its OK, most of the time I have to use satnav on its own.

    I use English as the language for my mobile but I want kilometres and not miles as unit. There have been others who have complained about the same issue and TomTom replied asking them to change the unit in settings. There's no Unit option in the settings of this app. Very disappointing.

    cannot use this app to share routes with people Everytime I click on the link it says to sign in then as soon as you try to sign in the sign in box disappears I am using an S9plus with 128 gig of memory and the latest updates are all installed 😡 Unfortunately that workaround hasn't worked The only way I can share routes is on a Windows based pc Shame really it's so nearly a great app but useless if you are out on the road

    I have used this App for many years and find it is great when it works, but when a new update arrives and you have to log back into your account, I get told there is a constant error, or that the password is incorrect even though I know it is fine!! Very frustrating, please sort it out Tomtom.

    Absolutely useless. Does not show traffic on my Go620. Go620 has never shown traffic connected nor connection to my account in spite of being logged in. So what's the point? I should have just bought a basic device without any traffic function. No, still no good. Support suggested the same solution too.

    Have to open app every time I jump in my car and pair. Super annoying to the point I don't use it.
