    Possibly the most annoying streaming app I've ever encountered. Everytime I press play, it goes back to the beginning & ads start again,play button should in centre of screen. Subtitles go off everytime the episode restarts or a new one is watched. Puts me off using. I watch on a Lenovo tablet

    App is ok, when it works, which is rare. Seems to constantly have issues. On catch up programmes it plays the adverts just fine, then stops and gives an error when the actual programme starts. If the programme does play it seems to be fragile, e.g. if you pause it and then try to resume it gives the same error mentioned before. Live TV is also only a new option to the app that was never there before. Needs major improvements to keep up with other apps like All4, BBC iplayer and ITV player

    Login problem has been fixed which is great. Resume doesn't always work. Very often the programme just starts from the beginning. Also, I'd like to be able to delete programmes that it offers to continue watching as often these are ones I've abandoned. All in all, though, it's a much improved offering and there's plenty of variety from the various channels.

    This app is one of the worse performing on my Now TV stick. Playback of any video stutters and picture breaks up, as if in tv interference. It has nothing to do with wifi signal as mine is excellent. Also, why doesn't the resume video function work? When selected, it still reverts back to the beginning. Very unprofessional indeed. Thumbs down and uninstallation for now .

    I like this app. There are too many bugs and lags. I am one of them people that like to review all of my installed apps and recommend updates. Most of the time they will go ahead and complete this update and I change this review. Sometimes they don't and they loose a customer. Updates: 1. Bug Fixes When loading a video it says that this video cannot be accessed even when it is available When logging in it just automatically logs me out of the app. Please fix this. 2. Performance Increase: The app takes too long to load. The videos take too long to load Features: 1. Live Videos: Allow restart of any Live Videos Remove start of program advertisements. 2. Download of programs Allow downloads of any programs and movies. 3. In App Purchases Allow purchases made by Google to remove advertisements Please make this update by 20th June 2020 and I will change this review from 4 stars to 5 stars.

    Since I updated on 27th April I've not been able to watch anything as I just get a black screen. Adverts work fine though. Also, why suddenly do I have to re-login to the app everytime I open it? It's just annoying now, I could understand having to login after an update but not every time I attempt to use the thing. This used to be my go to app for watching documentaries and it was excellent for a time now it's just a waste of space on my phone.

    Glad its a free app, you cant pause a program once it starts or skip,or review. Keeps loading ads. After a few days lose all your info .All the other main channels apps are o,k, 5 isn't it's rubbish. Have uninstalled and reinstalled forget it,that wont work either. This is a great ap...if you love adverts,which will play perfectly every time. Heres one....Choose Channel 5 They don't care you're alive..Only lets you give a minimum of one star, but believe me this is a big fat zero from me. December Update: app has been updated but still not fully functional 1 star.

    I like this app. I am one of those people that like to review and recommend updates for hundreds of apps. Sometimes they complete these updates and sometimes annoyingly they don't. So to reach the 5 Stars the following updates are needed: 1. Bug Fixes -- Sometimes I see a black screen when loading a video. I see the buffering sign after 5 minutes and I have excellent WI-FI 2. Performance Increase -- Sometimes the loading of app takes too long The Videos take too long to load 3. Live T.V Menu Change -- The Design is too old.     This is a good app, the only problem is ads...i accidentally press a back button and i have to watch up to 4 ads to continue watching the show i was wathing 3 seconds before....i hope you can change this...but if it wasnt for the ads i would give it a 5 star! I hope u get it bc it doesnt let u down!!

    The new version is better on usability, stability and the MyList feature works well. However, the app signs you out every time you close it which is not ideal. It would be good to have the option to close the app and remain signed in, or sign out.

    Dreadful! Come on Channel 5, sort this service out! All our streaming services work perfectly on our TV apart from yours. ALL of them. So it's not our WiFi or Internet. Your service blocks up, buffers, stutters and its not even HD content! Why do you bother when it doesn't work, so is totally unusable!

    Every time I want to resume watching a show that I had previously paused, the programme never plays. It just keeps loading. Even though adverts are able to play at the beginning, the show never plays.

    Why has the cast button disappeared from the app? I can't now use the app to watch catch-up shows using my Chromecast on my TV, so my viewing of Channel 5 programs has massively declined. Bring back the cast facility!

    Great free content. Ads not too intrusive compared to others. Had seriously bad buffering on my Samsung tablet until I stopped using Bluetooth headphones.

    Rubbish if you pause anything half way through that's it you can't resume or start from the beginning it just doesn't load and screen goes dark. So far been unable to watch one program from start to finish

    Good on tablet and chromebook but on my Sony Android TV it crashes at every advert break. You have to restart it and then endure the adverts.

    No bugs except for the adverts. Before watching I had to wait for seven adverts to finish, and that repeated every time I changed programme. You then have further adverts every ten minutes or so. It completely ruins a good programme. At least on a real TV you can swap channels for a while when they come on. Such a waste of life! The BBC has got it right. I'd pay twice the licence fee to avoid adverts. No option for full screen for some reason although it works on other TV apps. All on all a poor app which unfortunately I have to avoid using if possible.

    No video but with sound I've only downloaded this about 20 minutes ago and I've had nothing but problems. When I'm trying to swipe down it will keep taking me to another category, and now when I play what I'm watching there's no picture. I also have to keep coming out of the app to see if it works and then I have to sit through 2-5 ads repeatedly. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothings worked

    Great app has short ads ,which is nice, but it doesn't have more episodes and series for certain Shows that have multiple episodes and series playing on the channel take NCIS for example it has multiple series and episodes on 5USA but only 4 episodes of Season 15 on the app which is kind of annoying since its hard to watch NCIS without paying for it (Netflix, Prime etc) its okay and all but it good have more episodes especially in a time like this

    Utterly terrible app!! Loads and plays ads absolutely fine then program doesn't play! Needs sorting as all other TV apps work great, just the My5 one that has major issues. It would be zero stars if that was possible! I have the app on my TV, phone and tablet and have the same issue with all 3! Don't waste your time!

    Update Aug 2020 Still Terrible on Sony Bravia. Cannot fast forward or play. Ads play for no reason if you stop or start. When watching one episode it then jumps to a completely unrelated episode after the ads. Honestly please employ some professional software developers instead of a bunch of amateurs that cut corners and release untested software

    On my Nvidia Shield, the audio quality is terrible on some programmes. Watching the same programmes on my Samsung TV app, and the audio is perfect. Not sure if it's an Android on device specific issue.

    Only realised I selected the wrong episode after I sat through the ads and started the programme. Had to sit through all of the ads again when I selected the right episode. Not impressed. There are other playback apps where this doesn't happen.

    Loved this app but for the last few weeks its stopped working , its not loading up and when it eventually loads to watch a programme it shows all the adverts then as the programme starts it stops working , i loved watching My 5 some great documentaries... Please My 5 app developers sort your app out , its not working on my ipad Pro , my Samsung Galaxy s20 and my mums Huawei , so its not just one device thats having the problem with My 5

    App Keeps crashing. Was working fine on my phone until i used the app on my tv. App was working ok on my tele. After i used the app on my tv wanted to watch again on my phone. Now app keeps crashing on my phone and won't open.

    This app hardly ever works, uninstalled and re installed it so many times, if occasionally you do ever manage to get past the 5 loading screen with the little spinning circle all you get is text and no pictures and nothing plays, just not worth the hassle. Really bad app.

    Dreadful app. On Android TV the most adverts i have seen on any app. Sometimes while adverts playing it just skips to the next episode, so switch it back and have to endure yet MORE adverts. Needs fixing.

    The app will play the adverts and then when the content is supposed to load the screen goes black but the audio still plays. This is a shame because Channel 5 has some really good shows.




    Recently updated my device from KitKat to Android 9 as App had stopped working ! This latest version doesnt even work with Chromecast ! Unbelievable ! Need to ask ITV or Channel 4 how to fix this as they seem unable to !

    Always crashes, makes me log in every single time I want to access it, and just generally really badly serviced. No reply from anyone on social media about the problems either. Also just getting a black screen any time I try to use the app with chromecast.

    This is an excellent app. But to get it to 5 stars the following update is required. 1. Bug Fixes. 2. Optimise the app so that it loads quicker. 3. Allow in app purchases to remove ads. 4. Less Adverts. Please make this update by 1st May 2020 Thanks

    I'm sorry but I had to uninstall it. You have to sign in all the time. Adverts work perfectly but then after few seconds of the show you can see black screen and that's it. It just frustrated me so it had to go 😞

    Poor quality, unreliable, buggy app. It's improved slightly since I last tried it, but it's still rubbish. Had to restart it 5 times when watching an hour-long programme. Screen goes blank, then it restarts. This usually happens when it's finished showing ads and it going back to the programme When it restarts it doesn't even remember which programme was being watched, let alone automatically offering to pick-up the programme at the point where the crash occurred. Dreadful application.

    The app on my galaxy note 4 is saying technical error. I have uninstalled and installed and switched on and off still says technical issue unavailable. Never done this before. What is the problem please will it be resolved?

    Plays programmes absolutely fine. However I can't find a way of turning off autoplay, which isn't acceptable, so reduced to 4*. Fortunately though I can stream C5 programmes on Sky Go instead.

    I use to love this app and have used it for years, but since the start of 2019 the app crashes before it gets 30 seconds into a a programe on the first advert, saying "unfortunately my5 has stopped" !!! I have reported it on several occasions and its still not working!!! it looks like no one cares if we cant use this app!

    One star because the app opens. Oh, you can confirm you're over 16 too. And you can search for stuff. If you want to watch anything and cast to tv, forget about it. Was great until this latest update, and it wasn't even a choice of either update or don't update. You were forced to update before you could open the app. Sort it out ch5. So many disgruntled users.

    So many very long and repetitive ads, normally lasting up to 5mins. After the last set of ads had finally finished, I moved my tablet closer to me so I could settle back down to watch the rest of the film, but I accidentally touched the screen. This led to yet another set of long ads starting. Once finished I found it had taken me back to the beginning of the film, so I skipped ahead..... or tried to... yet another set of ads started! 3 sets lasting 15min. I gave up, no film is worth that!

    One of the worst apps I have ever come across. I can count on it to crash my tv, phone, laptop on a regular basis. Shows and episodes often disappear completely only to reappear a short time later. I am no longer surprised by the constant glitches. This isn't just since the update this has been over years of use. I stopped watching any channel 5 show for months because I couldn't be bothered with it.

    Shockingly unresilient. Tried to watch a program on a train. Kept timing out, every time restarted it forgot where I was and replayed all the ads. It took me 3 hours to a watch a 45min program. The odd ad is OK, but frankly this was ridiculous. You might consider how people actually use the app on the go and test it in some real world scenarios. Get your act together!

    For watching TV (when you eventually do get there) its as good as all the others. It is slow to respond to onscreen button pushes as well. I have 3 types of phone in my house and it is the same on all. The order of types of programme should be better as well with most recent and popular at the top. It takes a bit of searching for what you want. My No.1 problem is WHY do you have to watch 5 TV ads first before you get to watch what you're after??? I expect them during the show of course and would happily watch 2/3 more during the ad break, just not at the start over and over and over again.

    I've been watching My5 for the past couple of days and was enjoying it up until this evening when all of a sudden it stopped working and a message came up saying we are experiencing some technical problems please restart app, which I did but it just keeps buffering which is very annoying as I was in the middle of watching a programme. This happened quite a lot when it was called demand 5. I had hoped that with the My5 app these issues would have been sorted out but clearly they haven't been.

    When it works its OK...but recently it has been crashing a lot! It's very disappointing when you're watching your program when it crashes, then you have to sit through more adverts before trying to skip back to where you left the app is not working at all. A very disappointing app, surely its not that difficult to get it right?

    Its no wonder the app isn't very good when the website hardly works. I only watch TV on catch up and My5 is the only channel i ever have problems with. I'd say it works about 50% of the time. This means i end up catching up with the shows on the other channels and then have nothing to watch. It's always been rubbish. Always been complained about and yet they dont put money into fixing it. It makes no sense to me. It can't be that hard when so many other channels stream with no trouble.

    Doesn't really work, won't cast to tv via Chromecast. It states it's 'ready to cast' but you cannot get programs to play on it. Also have to tick the "over 16" box at least 3 times in a glitchy loop sometimes more before you can even get to the program (which then won't play on Chromecast anyway). Not a patch on BBC Iplayer. Rubbish. Don't bother installing until they sort it out.

    This app is awful, way too many ads. Through a programme, i end up wasting half the hour on ads, I'm not joking, each add ads up to 7 minutes. Other issue is, it randomly shuts down and fails to work again. Why haven't our complaints been listened to and taken seriously. Poor app and poor customer service. You can't download anything either, if it was a 30 to 1 minute ad half way through the show not before the show starts, 10 minutes into it, 5 to 15 minutes after.

    Not good any more. I have been using this app for a few weeks and put up with the constant adverts each time I wanted to watch something. Went to use it yesterday and when I click on a subject I want to see what is available, I now get a blank page and can't even go back as the page has frozen. I have to completely shut the app down to be able to use my tablet again. Appreciate a fix please??

    Terrible app on android, you have to watch 5 adverts at least 3 separate times an episode. If you rewind, fast forward, close the app or check anything else on your phone you have to watch the adverts again. The worst part is, after the adverts, it quite often goes to a blank screen and will not play what you were watching. Thinking if you restart it should fix the issue will only lead to watching the adverts again and the blank screen.

    I was well impressed with the app. It's easy to use, had more channels than I thought, really good quality and transfers easily, projecting it onto my HDMI screen. I know the quality of the phone comes into play too, but for someone who's a bit of a tecknophobe, it was a breeze. It's not normally that way with me, I have a frustrated mad few minutes, then I throw a wobbly and the phone or keyboard, and complete a hissy fit, but no. None of that for me with this app. It's a real gem. 😉

    I will give it 5 star once you start caring about the errors! There seems to be a prpblem everytime i use it! Sometimes a TV show will be available on app but not Now TV version and vice versa. Currently i am trying to watch Big Brother and it just won't play when i click on it. I have a good phone, so that's not the issue.

    Horrible app. From start up, your met with an extremely laggy and frustrating experience, only counting this as plausible from multiple attempts on 3 devices ranging from a low spec 1.1GHZ phone with 1.5GB RAM to one with a clock speed of 2.1GHZ and 4GB RAM, with better specs, there was improvement on image and media loading, unfortunately that media was ads. Ads load fine, programmes do not, app crashed and froze with a black screen on occasion. Stick to the TV please, or ask BBC for tips..

    Since the update yesterday the app is no longer working on Android even after deleting and reinstalling I just get a black screen. I love being able to watch channel 5 on my phone and use it a lot. It's great when it works however there are a few things that could make this app much better such as the ability to resume a programme where u left off (it's so frustrating having to search where u were up to and having to watch numerous adverts while you do it). Also there is no watch history or indicator as to which episodes of a series you have watched.

    Does not cast to my TV. Has the Chromecast logo and allows me to connect to my TV, I select the show I want to cast and accept the age verification tick-box but then nothing. Fix this issue or remove the option to cast. Also, when selecting categories/genres, when I click an option such as documentaries, the next screen is completely blank. Wish I could give 0 stars. ADDITIONAL: Emailed the developer to highlight the issues and have not had a reply. This was in the middle of December 2018.

    Useless. Channel 5 should be embarrassed of putting out an app like this in 2018. Occasionally some episodes play for a few mins then end. The odd episode may go to the end. Most just never start. It's a shame as if it worked it looks a good app. It needs taking off till you can actually watch stuff which is the whole point of the app.

    The amount of adverts make a 'quick catchup' of your show impossible. Honestly unbearable the amount of adverts. Do they not understand that a key reason why people choose to watch shows on catchup as opposed to live is because there is less ads? 6 (long) ads per break before and throughout is too much. Also, no facility to 'resume' from where you left off (Therefore requiring you to watch 12 ads) .... totally undermines channel 5 as even a competitor with itv, bbc, c4.

    Has a (presumed) glitch where if the programme has an age warning, it won't cast to the tv. Have tried clicking cast first, then clicking confirm and start and it just doesn't do anything. Then tried confirming, starting the programme, then casting and it just booted me out. Phone is too small to watch on and since most of what I watch is crime documentaries, the app is basically useless now.

    Downloaded the new app at the end of last year. It has almost never worked. Every time I go to play something I just get an 'Unexpected error' saying I need to retry or restart. Clicking either just sends me to a black screen. I try to log in with my account and get another error. Absolutely gutted. I used the old app all the time but this one I will have to delete.
