Fantastic emulator, but it definitely needs some updating as it's not the best it could be for a premium item. I personally haven't had the issues some others have, but that doesn't invalidate their troubles. Also, guys, there is indeed a reason why it runs in the background and has email activity -- It's literally for the save backups and sync options. Just turn that feature off if it troubles you.

I love this emulator! So easy to use and my fave is the fast forward!! Makes training my pokémon faster and I feel like I'm not wasting my life in normal speed. I also love the save and load mode. So easy if there's something in the game I need to re try or even go back to change the past. It's great.

Used to love this app, even paid it as it was worth it years ago... but after reading the recent reviews about email activity and background running. at first I didnt believe it so I installed and sure enough, wanted my gmail permissions, there is NO reason it should be asking for email perms at all, or run in background when you close out of the app fully...

Requested a refund, the app worked for a day but now constantly crashes when opened. I didn't experience the permission issues as others have though it did ask for contacts which I denied. If you look at the last update they added Google Drive sync of your saves (which was a good idea) it just seems like it was poorly coded. The guy who has buttons randomly pressing likely has a virus on their phone prior and blaming the apps permission requests.

Worst app I've paid for.. This would be a great emulator if it stopped asking for permission to access my email multiple times throughout the day. There's no way to stop it from asking in the settings like the description says. I have multiple email accounts on my phone and it asks for everyone one multiple times.

Used to love this app. But will be uninstalling now. Recently it started asking for email permissions which seem unnecessary and the app is now turning itself on and running in the background multiple times a day. I'm very attentive to apps running in the background and have a habit of making sure everything is off when I set down the phone. Everytime I pick up my phone now My Boy! Is running in the background and asking for permissions that I'm not comfortable giving. 5 stars to 1 star.

This is possibly the best GBA emulator out there on android i could find. Its not shady, it runs smoothly, and it has a variety of features, like cheat codes, fast-foward, and more. I don't have anything bad to say about it. The only thing you have to do yourself is find the right files for your My Boy! emulator and occasionally patch the file, and if its compatiable, enjoy yourself! just be careful with some files, it may crash the emulator.

I used to like this, but due to the constant request for permissions, I can't recommend it in it's current state. It's basically abandonware. I suggest moving to another emulator like PizzaBoy or RetroArch.

  9. Randy Knight-avatar

Great GBA emulator. Worth the small price to pay, just for the multiple line cheat codes lol. Saves so much time not doing one line at a time. And some of the codes don't work well when you break them up like that. Not sure why. But the multiple line code still seems to work in many cases. Pay the 6 or 7 bucks, ditch the free version. You can easily make 6 or 7 bucks off the Google Rewards app, by doing a few easy 2-3 question surveys. Then you still pay nothing.

  10. Walker Desing-avatar

    Walker Desing

Runs games just fine, controller support is good, but it asks for permissions that it really shouldn't need. If you deny the app permission to access a ton of your personal info, once or twice every day you'll get spammed with a notice that the app is requesting more permissions. The annoyance of the app constantly asking to read your emails outweighs the usefulness of the emulator.
