Learn to read sheet music and improve your sight-reading skills with Music Tutor. Develop your speed and accuracy in reading sheet music by identifying music notes in timed sessions. You can choose to practice between treble clef, bass clef or both for a duration of 1, 5 or 10 minutes. Music Tutor also helps with ear training and practicing your listening (aural) skills. During the practice session, every note is displayed along with the sound of the note (this feature can also be turned off if not necessary). After each test, you can review your mistakes and see your progress. There is also an option to set your difficulty level: The Easy level displays notes only the on the staff. The Intermediate level displays notes above and below 1 ledger line in addition to the stave lines. The advanced level displays notes above and below 3 ledger lines in addition to the stave lines.

Music Tutor also comes with a sheet music reference chart for treble and bass clefs that you can use to quickly grasp the name of all the notes.

This is quite possibly the best app for learning to read music that I have ever seen. It really allows you to learn fast and it's easy to use. It accomplishes what it is ment to accomplish with no ads and no pop-ups. Its fabulous. My only complaint is, I wish it the notes you have to choose from as answers were set up a little more far apart and easier to touch with one thumb or something like that. Easier to see maybe? Idk, it's a great app though.

Elegantly simple app. However, if you don't already know the keys on a piano, this is only one side of the equation. I played for years, but my sightreading was always terrible, so this is ideal for me. Two issues keep it at 4 stars. 1. There needs to be better visual feedback when you get the note wrong. maybe flash the letter quickly over the staff? 2. Audio should play the sound of the note you select as well. This is absolutely necessary to train your ear. Overall great app.

This app is awesome. It is great if you are talking a piano class. You can customize the range of notes and whether or not flats and sharps are used, so you won't get too far ahead of your class. The only improvement i could see is a midi interface so you could actually use it with your keyboard, but that's a pretty big ask, so 5 starts for sure! Well done!

Great app. Simple and to the point. Has helped me memorize the notes quickly. Would like to be able to set which notes to be tested on. Would like to be able review which notes took the longest to answer in addition the actual mistakes. Would be nice to see stats of which notes I have the most trouble with. Perhaps this is already being tracked in the background and each test is adjusted accordingly?

Phenomenal! I am an adult who started playing an instrument during the pandemic. I wanted to skip learning the notes, however, this app made it real fun! Music Tutor is so addictive, that you keep practicing, which feels like playing a game. You can control the time (1 min, 5 minor no limit) as well as limit the range of notes, so you can start small and gradually expand. You can also measure your progress through the improvement of your speed and accuracy. I defintely recommend!

This app was perfect until they updated it!!!!! Now I can't set the range to how I want... I've messed with it 20 times and it still is giving me notes way outside my range. The reference page doesn't show me what a G4 or a C3 is so I have no idea where to set it. I thought with some guess and check I could figure it out, but sadly after 20 tries still no success. The sliders are absolutely awful! Please add these new weird numbers to your reference page or find another way to incorporate custom range. This doesn't work. Because of the helpful comment i was able to set my range and I've been convinced to change my first 1 star rating... i shouldn't have to go though this hassle though.

Helps teach you the names of the notes, but it seems like it puts you straight into a test without study time. I'd like to be able to listen to them beforehand. Sharp and flat are also ignored in the notes names introduction. I know that those exist, but I can't remember which one's which. One sort of looks like a lowercase b, the other kind of like a number symbol. #

Extremely intrusive ads that remind me of the malware attacks of years ago. I was actually going to pay for the so called "remove ads" version, but I got so badly turned off by the severity of the ads, I literally can not trust that this app would ever be completely free of horrible ads even if paid for. Shame, because it's actually not a bad app.
