"Muntii Nostri" brings nostalgia to the fans of the collection published by Sport-Tourism publishing house between 1974 and 1992. It is a modern travel guide, created using the latest mapping techniques and updated content. Over the years, the use of Muntii Nostri application has proven its effectiveness and potential to save lives in critical situations up on the mountains, through its content and features: • each trail comes with clear directions, a description and (where appropriate) observations about seasonality, sections where directions might be unclear due to trail markings that are scarce or barely visible, information about water sources, etc. • all trails have useful technical details (difficulty, length, total ascent, total descent, duration, maximum elevation, etc.) and a graph. • each mountain region contains a list of approved trails to the date when the map was published, all based on GPS tracks. The current version of Muntii Nostri application has an approach that is even closer to the needs of the community: • the user can download maps and trails, including mountain groups and regions (counties) for offline use. • each trail comes with points of interest (and reference points), a detailed description of the tourist attractions in the area (where applicable). • the user can select filter values such as trail type (hiking, cycling and so on), region (county), or the mountain area where the trails are located, trail characteristics (difficulty, duration, distance, total ascent) or together with the trails downloaded on the phone. • the language depends on the operating system (Romanian or English). • once the GPS is activated, the trail list is displayed according to the filtered items, comprising the trails closest to the user's location. • the user can share the trail link on social networks, mail platforms, in personal notes, or directly via text messages. • the application uses vector layers displaying detailed maps with GPS-based targets for a more effective guidance. • with a click on the map, details about elevation, positioning accuracy and speed are presented. • each trail comes with weather information from the nearest town.

Worst customer service ever. The Explorer "shared account" on 2 phones feature doesn't work as advertised, customer contact email sent weeks ago didn't receive any answer and my message&app rating of yesterday deleted! Is this the best you can do? Going down from previous 3* to 1*.

Am incercat noua aplicatie. Functioneaza offline doar cu abonament. Nu multumesc. Edit:Offline maps not working anymore. Gpx download not available anymore. App is useless now. Usefull with a lot of improvement opportunities. Clicking on the tour symbol on the map would be nice to open the tour guide.

Issues when downloading all maps the app crashes and cannot enter app. Mobile is Samsung S20 with all updates . My suggestion is that a full map of Romania should be nice to have. Please include a barometer function within the app , this is nice to have olso . Thank you !

You can download maps of regions but it won't place you on the map if you are offline, even with GPS on. I like the appearance but it is useless to me if it can't be used offline.

Auto zoom to country level, whenever i press the compass drives me crazy. Whoever had that idea, it was a terrible idea. Click on compass is to set North, and keep map fixed so i can search things on it, definitely not to zoom all out. There are some inaccuracies, would be nice to have a way to give feedback or let you know where the path was not there. Would be nice to have a "legend". There are all sorts of symbols on the map, and i have no idea what they mean.

The old version was better. I am now updating the review down to 2 starts regarding that you cannot see all the tracks with number on the map and you cannot identify the intersection point. Furthermore, I see pins instead of tracks on the map. If I am in the middle of nowwhere, I cannot see which is the most near track. This is frustrating regarding that the old version worked perfectly and it help me a lot in my journeys.

Just installed and tested the app. It's a useful app but besides of other negatives people mentioned it has two other big ones. First one is that you have to manually download each trail one by one if you wanna be able to use it offline. That is very time consuming. Why can't they make it as easy as the download of maps?! And second negative is that the app installed in English automatically because I have my android in English. Is it that hard to create an option for choosing the language?

If the developers are listening: I purchased over the years many paper maps by Schubert & Franzke (Romanian mountain ranges, some in duplicate, some repurchased more than two times, as they got worn out from trips). From the reverse side of the one of these paper maps I found the link to the app. I have used it in several Romanian mountain ranges and it worked flawlessly. I am not saying there was no room for improvement but it used to be an excellent application. Now it's broken, as many users point out. I could even PAY for an application of this sort. All I need is already owned by Schubert&Franzke: the maps themselves and the app mechanism. Please just fix it, put a reasonable price on it and start collecting money, while I navigate precisely the Romanian backcountry with it.

This app helped me a lot through my last hiking(3days) with planification of the routes, findding the springs (watter) and most important to get back on the route when I was lost, because some are poorly draw . Consume battery fast so you need to close the app and reopen activate/deactivate gps. It take some time to get used. If you plan to stay more than one day take a battery recharger. Also I recommend to get a physical map from infopoint or salvamont. Never get s old.
