    Easy to open this account without having to go into the bank. It's opened quicker than HSBC. card is posted to you quickly. Easy to make payments. Easy to use world remit with this app to send money to South Africa, transfer wise is also a built in option. Easy to track spending. It has a saving pot.can set up debit orders easily. Just love it. So easy to use.

    Excellent, revolutionary online bank. Does everything a bank does but online. You can still easily pay money in (or transfer from a different bank). Everything is live and instant, unlike most other banks (although they've now caught on/copied Monzo). I was with Santander for years but got so frustrated because simple transactions were so slow to update (even online). I'd often unintentionally go into an overdraft and get unfair charges every month. Monzo has saved me loads of money, love it!

    Well after using the bank for over a year, the only trouble i have had is not been able to use my card in the cash machines, however after reading through the site, I now understand that Monzo would get charged, therefore they would have to transfer that charge on to us. All in all its been fantastic during Covid-19virus.

    Simple, quick to set up, you can use your account before even having the physical card in GPay or Apple pay. The dinosaur banks have alot of catching up to do! It's the 21st century and Monzo represents just that 👍🏾 Oh and not to mention the pots! Best thing ever!!!!!!!!!!

    Monzo is amazing. I used to use a high street bank - not naming names - and they seemed to go out of their way to stop me knowing how much money was in my account and where it was going. Card transactions used to take days to show up - this was in 2018 - whereas now I can see it update in real time. Genuinely don't know how I ever lived without it. 20 stars. Update: what happened to the sound effects? Now I have to listen to a standard alert tone.

    Very happy with Revolut, I just wanted to install the app to be able to transfer money to friends using Monzo. It's been a nightmare so far: impossible to create an account, my friend tried as well and received the same "we can't offer you a Monzo account" Then on the customer service system, impossible to communicate with a staff nor find a solution through the automatic answers offering. I therefore sent an email and am still looking forward to hearing back from them.

    It does not make me finish the registration (says :it seems that there is a problem – check your internet connection) but the internet is working in both wifi and mobile fix the problem I followed your advice and sent emails with attached image

    I tried tonopen account in Hungary but I couldn't. Later I moved to the UK and I tried again but because I already tried in Hungary Monzo didn't let me open my account or change my address. I contacted them 3 times on email and also in the app. They said they forward it to an other team. Almost 1 month passed and nothing happened I'm still without an account.

    The worst app I've ever installed Should invoice Monzo for wasting my time . spent an entire hour trying to upload a crystal clear photo i.d and every time I got a message saying it wasn't clear enough even though it was perfect . Enough to make you launch your phone at the wall in frustration , total rubbish

    Great app, excellent features and reliable service. Dropped a star for the poor paid account option. Its just not a good deal. Travel insurance or a higher cap on interest paid (currently 2k) would make this more attractive.

    Very buggy. I can't open a joint account as it continuously sits on a loading wheel whether on 4G or WiFi. I've cleared the cache, the loaded app data, uninstalled it, reinstalled and updated/ restarted my phone.

    Intrasparent about fees. Stole my money. Terrible customer seevice has no chat room like starling for quick human assistance. Charges existing customers using it as a secondary account fees when it's the ideal account for this and is how I used it for the longest time.

    I am deeply upset with the service. I have waited for more then 2 months just to open an account with monzo. It still hadn't opened and I contacted customer service about this and they said they have escalated the problem but I'm still in the waiting list. I'm genuinely really upset with the service. I just wanted to open monzo as I believe it will be easier to manage payments but with the way this is going . I don't think I would ever get monzo opened with the way they are operating.

    Good banking app But I am usually impaired and very light sensitive... For this app STILL to not have a dark mode is a massive massive nightmare for me to uas :( Please please please make dark mode, I develop apps and it would take less than a day to implement !!!

    Very good in general, however I can only make my summary period for 1 week, 4 weeks or a month, I get paid every 2 so it just leaves me fiddling around with the settings every pay day :/

    Monzo is possibly the best banking solution I have ever experienced. I can get paid by 16:00pm the day before paydays. This is very handy. All banks can do this but they don't like us doing that so normal banks don't offer this service. Being able to create a budget for each month is helping me to understand my spending habits and how much I'm spending. Monzo also has a version that costs £5 each month (£1.25 each four weeks) I believe that Monzo is the UKs best ever bank.

    In the middle of this Covid 19 crisis this app will stop you using the hands free payments after every few transactions. This means removing your gloves and touching the filthy and possibly, virus infected, keypad in the shop. Monzo is dumb beyond belief. *And the idiotic response from Monzo is that I should use Apple/Google pay via a phone instead of using Monzo, thus negating the need for Monzo in the first place. Not the brightest over there at Monzo!

    05/10/2020: Today I tried to login, each time needed to click the link in the email to login. Do I need to login this way forever? Also I ticked to use biometrics to login/unlock, but after logout and tried to login again, still being asked to login from email link. After login, "use biometrics " option was unticked. Can't find a customer helpline, either live one can talk to. I will not put my money with them.

    This app is great and so automatic. They can sort almost everything for you when switching accounts! It also now can show other bank accounts in the app which is so useful! It's got a great way of making saving pots and seeing what you can save and budget. It's so fast and reliable! The only thing this app lacks in is banking cheques. You have to send them off and can take weeks to show up in your bank account. For an all Internet banking app, this is poor!

    It's very good except for one aspect. It won't remember your payees for repeated payments unless you give the app permission to have access to all your contacts. If you don't do that you have to enter the payee details every time. I consider this an unnecessary intrusion There is no conceivable reason that a banking app should require this. All my other apps with mainstream banks will remember all my payees without requiring such access. I'll find an alternative.

    Great app! Only annoying thing is the 24 hour waiting time for taking money out of a saving account, also, you should have a full tutorial how to use the app once your in the app not before, that way people can use it quickly for what they need and then have the full run down in their own time to figure it out as it's a bit confusing, in a good way though.

    Started off great. Now it's just like other baking apps. Their selling point of 24/7 customer support is becoming harder and harder to get with it now being well hidden in the app. Disappointed update: You now cannot access live chat at all. They have irrelevant FAQs with no option to speak to someone. The irony is, even Barclays (who I switched from for this exact reason) has a live chat.

    They screwed the last update. Now when I open the app it asks for autorisation and as soon as I authorise it closes down, on reopening no authorisation is needed. It can be replicated every single time... Edit: I can see many others are having exactly the same issues so why would Devs ask me for emailing [email protected] when they just need to fix the bug?

    I like Monzo, for the most part it just works. But the app features that enticed me to switch to full Monzo have mostly been removed or hidden away to the point they're useless. The really useful timeline where you could easily see your balance over time is gone. Payee details are being moved so now they're harder to find. They have attempted a subscription service twice and after failing the first time they've relaunched a subscription that somehow offers even less than before. Not to mention a lot of the 'paid for' features are available free with other banks, such as Starling. Monzo continue to make bad decisions and couple that with their knack to haemorrhage money at an alarming rate means I am leaving to a better bank where I will worry less about the security of my finances.

    Quite new to Monzo and find the app really easy to navigate my way around, especially when I'm not very good with tech etc. The only problem is, I can't find my actual sort code or account number in my profile. I was trying to receive a transaction from a family member but didn't have the details to send them. Or have I just overlooked it and its staring me in the face? Like I said, me and tech are not a marriage made in heaven. Live Monzo though.

    Love the app, allows me to keep under control most of my spending and I feel like a safe place where to keep my money. I bit disappointed about the virtual card only available with plus, consider that it may make this eBank to feel even more safer. Anyway, customer service impeccable, honestly even better than my main bank. Another thing that I would like to see, since I'm using this as day to day card, some cash back service. Overall, I really advice to use Monzo.

    Edit: Has been sorted. Know I know to get different cards. Been logged out of my account. I went to live chat and explained the situation that my card was declined despite me tapping it in a store I've used it in before. I wanted to be logged out because the person said I can't be loggedd in on two devices. I wanted to use monzo on my new phone so I agreed to be logged out. But it didn't work, and now I can't get onto monzo at all.

    What an amazing banking system. Online banking is the way to go. Monzo is exceptional. What with creating pots to save money in. Which is great in it's self. This also helps with unwanted transactions out of your account. ~~The app gives way more accessibility than any other online banking app. Everthing in one place. Options like freeze card or order a new one. All easily turned on and off at a touch. Brilliant.

    Wrote in my postcode and it could not find my exact address. It didn't give me an option to manually type it in. The only way to proceed was to choose an incorrect address. It had only one option which was closest to my address but the wrong door number. The rest didn't include the full information.

    I currently have an account with monzo but when I type my number to identify myself. It tells me I already have an account with you, gives me no option to log in. Ive tried using another number to see if that helps but then it doesnt load the overdraft information, keeps telling me my connection has gone off. Whilst I have music playing on the telly, I'm using other apps on my phone with no problems. No ease of use at all.

    Loved it, its the best one around, however they closed my account for no reason as they get the right to do so when you sign their terms and conditions, i asked and no answer, and its just after i finish my uni finished and without ever taking loans or going overdraft, i have always used it as my main and they just thought why not close my account right. Ps. When they close your account you wont get the money back for 2-4 weeks, still dont know why half of this had to happen to me

    Very good app, I've switched 90% of my banking to monzo and very happy with the experience. One improvement I want to suggest though is some kind of security when entering the app, perhaps fingerprint recognition or passcode as you can open the app and access banking straight away otherwise, could be an issue if your phone is lost or stolen.

    Unacceptable to charge overdraft fees during the pandemic on small overdrafts. They refuse to help and couldn't care less. Bank elsewhere and do not use them. They have terrible savings rates and don't offer much other than a pretty interface. You can't even open Isa with them.

    29/07/20 Update - the issues have since been resolved and functions very well - can recommend to use if you want an easy way to budget your money Can only echo the sentiment of the other reviews - the bank itself and the idea behind structures and services is amazing, but the recent update to the app makes it near unusable. It prioritises trendy aesthetics over usability, and the previous version worked so well!

    Innovative, reliable and effortless mobile banking experience. Monzo completely transformed my awareness of finances, being the first in almost every modern standard in banking apps.     Asks for details, picture of identity and a selfie video as verification. Says it's going to take between 5 minutes and an hour. After a few seconds it declined the application without a reason. Now the app is essentially locked out and there is nothing I can do. No info, no links, no contacts and no explanation. After contacting their customer service they were just as unhelpful by refusing to give an explanation or offer any alternative action. I definitely recommend avoiding this service.

    Love the chingachange sound when any money is either sent or received a nice touch that lets all know for sure when waiting for a transfer. Love the savings and bills areas of the app as well makes putting money aside for budgeting and goals safe and sound. Monzo with its brightly coloured card is easy to spot. I must complain that if phone is out of battery, lost, misplaced or worse then getting online banking is an issue. Needs browser version of the bank not solely rely smartphone batterylife

    This bank deserves 5 star except its customer service is poor. The chat doesn't work gives poor explanation and the phone always busy. Hence my low score. It's a good bank smart concept but please improve the customer service even if you start charging a fee

    Hi...great all features...easy to use , one issue i have , fingerprint... i try to access my account, but I touch the sensor the app opens then shuts ,I tap the app icon again then my account opens ...not sure what is going on but I've never had this problem before.     Not a bad app, runs smooth and looks nice, but with online banking, the fact that I need to find my card to confirm the CVV as it's not displayed in the app is the major flaw. I'm running down the account to use another app that gives me access to all my card details without need to pick up the physical card.

    How is it possible that two people who are living on the same address, for one you can open an account and for other you are saying the address doesn't exist in royal mail database (which it does)? I have been trying for almost a month to get card delivered but without any luck. Talked with 6 different service operators and everytime something new. What kind of app can't be updated (bug fixed) for a month? EDIT: I was contacted by probably some supervisor and they opened my account.

    A very good app to manage finances. I use my monzo acc as a second acc to help me budget. Money sent to my acc usually clears instantly and I like the fact that you get a notification EVERY time there is any purchases, deposits etc so it's easy to keep on top of what i am spending or if a bill has been paid etc. I highly recommend monzo

    Great bank, I only use it for 'spending money'. Coffee and drinks etc. Works well as a little allowance account. Wouldn't personally want to use it as my main account but that's not to say you couldn't. Very user friendly, nice 'pots' for your money. Does really help with finances.

    Brilliant app so far. Went for the Plus. Worth it in my opinion for the extra organisation features. Love the function to round up change and go to a pot, a tweak that could be good is maybe setting the amount you save on a purchase as a percentage? E.g for every £1 I spend, I can automatically save 5%.

    Had a brief issue yesterday but got in touch with Monzo over Twitter and I think it's been fixed. Now the app seems to work smoothly and opening a joint account has been a really easy process. Barclays folk, you can't use the 'easy transfer' option unless you log in with PINSentry (and possibly not even then? Be aware). But that's a Barclays issue, not a Monzo one.

Then, from now no one on helpline clearly help me even they also don't know bank policies and all I strongly not recommend..... They have poor customer service....

    I do like the app. It's very easy to use. I would like to be able to delete, rename and zero the budget categories. I know that they are prefilled due to spending from the previous month but my months are not always the same.

    Really Really good app and glad that I switched over to monzo...soon as you have used your card the app tells you instantly, and also adds up how much you have spent at each shop that you use your card with.....can't fault the bank or the app.

    I think people have misunderstood and are eating Monzo's banking facilities instead of rating the app as asked. The app works well. It has never crashed on me. It is well laid out and has an attractive user interface. All important features can be carried out on the app.

    Been at 1 star a while now, latest update to Monzos terms now allows you to only withdraw £250 cash a month until they then charge you to withdraw your own money. Thats it for me, most money moved to another acct now, and payments into this account now also go elsewhere. If others do the same perhaps monzo will change in future...

    When opening the app, it asked for my fingerprint to log in then immediately closes the app and then I have to open the app again, second time it does not ask for fingerprint but goes straight to my account. Please fix this as it is very annoying.

    I have been using this app and services for about 10 months now.. It has been amazing.. To the point i cant help but actively promote monzo. It genuinely has helped me organise my finances, so well to the point i got rid of a few debts. INSTANT UPDATES and FLAWLESS SYSTEM. BUT.. Can we not have a DARK MODE feature please?? Id believe most users spend nights on the app as well as days and would appreciate the comfort of darker background so as to no blow our eyes out swapping between apps.




    Very good App, I love it, very easy to manage all my expenses and help with savings. One thing I would suggest is to give the option to modify a scheduled payment and not just cancel.

    Won't let me do ANYTHING in the app, "your card is on its way" been saying that for over a year, I have the card, still can't use the app. Sorry I don't trust the app developer with my details, if there's a way to fix my account it sounds be available within the app itself.

    Decent bank if you don't spend/earn much and don't receive/send international transfers. Two stars taken off for grand and a half cap a year on deposits (way too small if you payed cash in hand) and international transfers and their reception only through TransferWise (which supports only a handful of countries).

    [Better alternatives: Revolut, Starling Bank+Quidco] More expensive than above rivals. Does not automatically report interest to HMRC for you. No VISA cards (in Asia you get 7-30% tax returns if paying with VISA). No IBAN, so you cannot receive international payments. Only British Pounds GBP means all foreign currencies will be converted to GBP at a fee. Complicated, unreliable and slow app with less features.

    Monzo is one of the best banks I've used but ever since the new update it keeps crashing when I try to use my fingerprint to send payments. Its not a huge deal but that's why there's a star removed.

    Monzo, patching all the bugs in banking since day one. Major banks are too big and sluggish with many layers of beuocracy to move fast and adapt quickly. Monzo has done what other major banks can't, adapt with the times and peoples ever changing needs. Being able to see money coming in/out in real time with no delay is a massive game changer. Gone are the days of spending, forgetting, and then later in the week seeing £'s disappear from your account. Oh and the emoji's are cool to 😎.

    Is it just me or the latest update has removed any fingerprint authentication i have on the app and was able to open it without having to put any pin or scan fingerprint? I certainly didn't change so this is a security issue.

    They ask for personal details, pictures of ID and even a video to verify the identity and after a few seconds they rejected my application without any explanation and there is literally nothing I can do. No info, no contacts, no links. I tried contacting their customer service but even after insisting, they simply kept saying "sorry for the disappointment caused, we can't provide any information other than what you can see in the app." Not acceptable. I suggest to avoid this service.

    They somehow have a way they put people into overdraft without their consent. Then text them and tell them that they'll be charged interest from tomorrow without first notifying them beforehand. I never signed up to any overdraft and don't trust this bank. Banks should learn about and understand consent to enter a credit agreement. This didn't happen here.

I just tried to set up an account by following the instructions but it says "unfortunately we can't offer you a Monzo account". I can not figure out why. I may have typed something in wrong or something like that, but I am not able to go back or try again. This is very frustrating.

    Only 3 star as the cheque cashing is desperate. You have to post it then wait 4 days for them to get it then 5 days after that. Should have a set up like Halifax where you take a pic of the cheque then it is cleared by the next day

    Get the account locked, 5200£ freezed on the account with the promises that will be forwarded to an account that I need to provide, after 3 weeks nothing arrived on the account provided, would not reccomend at all, made lot of transactions and have been customers for more the 6 months, had personal and business account with them, is not a bank that you can trust at all, better monese, revolut and other banks out there.

    I love Monzo. I'm a visual person & while other banks didn't track spending in real time, Monzo has really helped me with my spending habits. I'm able to creat as many saving pots & plan my money better. For once I feel that I'm in control of my money. I've used Monzo overseas & it's amazing. They do the best currency exchange rates & you don't need to faff around with banks exchange rates or panic when you run out of money during your holiday. I will 100% recommend Monzo to anyone & everyone.

    Monzo froze my accounts for absolutely no reason and refuses to answer any questions about why. Google it and you'll see they've been doing that to lots of people. Avoid these guys like the plague!
