I love it. This is an incredible app with unbelievable detail and options. The amount of time and code put into it must be humongous.

  2. Christopher Debarr-avatar

Horrible app, don't use. Free indeed, for a short time with ads and then it doesn't work if you don't pay.

  3. Val Sarff-avatar

It seems to have potential, yet it is clueless where I am located. Efforts to manually input were not intuitive, failed to save, and allowed only rounded numbers. Methods for obtaining location automatically by GPS or WiFi stated their precision but were off by approximately 60 miles geographically. I'm going to continue to fiddle with it a bit on the chance I'm wrong, but if I'm 60 miles from my real location everything will be off.

This app is very informative for the novice astronomer. I'm not happy that I paid $15.00 for it over a year ago. Now they do an update and want to charge me for the pro version? That's Bogus! And that's the reason for the 2 star rating. I can't stand greedy people.

Just awesome! Ease of use is incredible. Three amount of information is second to none. Well to be honest, I haven't used them all but I do use a few and have used more. This so far is the best! You won't be disappointed.

Looks like it's full of info. That's good. The bad is the interface. While centered on Jupiter there's an icon toggle to show the planets path across the sky. Cool, I want to see that so I touch it. Up comes a box with lots of choices of different times to draw the line. Touch one and up comes a line. Under the box. Touch anywhere on screen and away goes the box. Taking the line with it. Guess there's something I don't know about Android apps and don't want to waste time trying to figure it out.

  7. Paul Davis-avatar

Junk! When you enter your location it gives you a pop up asking for it again! If you try to click off the pop up wanting your location it sends you to the location select menu anyway!

  8. Steven Kirkland-avatar

Used version 2 for as long as I can remember. Seems like I paid for an upgrade at some point but I can't be certain. Version 3 ads are too intrusive and, because the app uses my location data, I can't be certain of that data not being passed along to the same in app ads. I wanted to try 3 to find out if I would buy the pro version but I guess I'll be sticking with the previous version for now.

  9. Sara Buckalew-avatar

I love this app. So many free features and a comprehensive format. I also get notifications for events like meteor showers or the best time to view various planets. When I was in school the curriculum did not include anything but very basic astronomy. Now I find I want to know everything! I've discovered something about myself , it's in the stars.

This app has it all, feeds from our satellites watching th sun, sections to help you understand the complex way the moon orbits, star data, galaxy pictures, I think it even has a marker for Santa Claus. Mobile Observatory is the best astronomy app you can get. There are so many sections that you can lose track of time while learning so much, and that's before you even point it up to the sky. It deserves as many stars as it as in it's database.
