Reviews From google play store

It's amazing how well the prediction engine works, as well as how much more of your screen you get back by using the keyboard in compact mode. Good-bye to all other keyboards as this one has become my primary method of input (and certainly my favorite). Although it has not been updated in quite a while, I have not encountered any problems using it on my Motorola Moto G7 Power.

I have to say - it's not often that I spend five bucks on an app. I have had this all for less than a week now and I can say with confidence that it is the best 5 bucks I've ever spent in the app store. Wow - this algorithm is powerful. Very pleased

The last update was in 2017 and I can notice that because many functions stopped working. They simply don't work anymore or crashes constantly. Would be a great app if the developer would keep it up to date.

Backups have never worked. After a few weeks of usage, words that have been learnt are forgotten. Minimal keyboard still works, though. Developer has abandoned app. More and more functionality dies every day.

I have been in love with this concept since the crowdfunding days, and Minuum has been the first thing I install on any new phone since I first tried it. I dread the day this keyboard stops working due to it being no longer maintained. I hope it finds a new maintainer or gets open sourced before that happens.

While I enjoy the idea of the keyboard and the is majority of the time, things work as expected, there are some frustrating things preventing me from giving it a 5. For example, when I need to use the word suggestion row, it automatically puts a space, which is fine, but then if I wish to add a comma or period, it keeps the space, meaning for proper punctuation I have to move the hey back, backspace, then to back to the end of the text to keep typing, and it is annoying. Also, frequently, when I attempt to resize, it hits and holds keys instead of resizing. I regularly use the floating keyboard at near smallest size, and occasionally change size, but come to a halt when I try to resize. Also when using the regular size keyboard, the spacing is awkward compared to other keyboards and I make way more mistakes than with other keyboards

Needs improvement in punctuation selection in the compressed keyboard mode (which is what I use it for) , otherwise a great keyboard option. Often it's very inconvenient to add a punctuation mark, and this is especially the case when typing fast. A suggestion is to put a permanent punctuation selector in place of one of the word suggestions.

This has a good algorithm for workingwith sloppy typing. But the app hasn't been updated for 2 years now. There are updates that should be sorted. The emoji it handles r instance is old and should be brought up to date, with the latest that android supports. Also there are more things that could be done to make it look better.

I first got this keyboard on the iPhone when it was initially released and I loved it. when I switched to Android I didn't realize it was available there. But I got a smaller, cheaper Android and wanted a small, lightweight keyboard and found Minuum again. I love it! Very responsive, very quick to learn your typing style. still one of my favorites. The only feature I would like is the ability to remove the gesture shortcut pop up because I just want it to be a little cleaner. Otherwise perfect!

amazing keyboard. lots of extras and cool features. it's highly configurable and supports multiple layouts. highly recommended!

Avoid: it simply doesn't work long term. Good: it's intuitive and accurate, many settings to change, when there are new words, then a simple swipe up & it's possible to open a full size keyboard for things like UK place names. Bad: • The long press and swipe will periodically stop working so the whole keyboard is unusable, then you have to force stop the app to get it working again. • emailed developers and had no response on the issue. Need refund

It's still the best keyboard in the PlayStore even though it wasn't updated for a long time now. I still hope they are going to continue the development or at least make the keyboard open source so the community could add new features and fix bugs.

Very easy to use once you get used to it and allows you to type very fast. Even let's you switch between modes of you need to type out an intentionally misspelled or uncommon word. Excellent at selecting both words and emojis.

This is a great app, I think the word prediction is the best I've seen for sloppy typing. But has the developer ever considered adding in swyping? Maybe I'm getting old but swyping is so much easier on my finger joints!

Love how customizable it is but as a consequence I am still figuring out the best settings for me. The autocorrect is good but sometimes makes it impossible to type a very specific word

Suggestion add speech to text button 😏 - in bonus pannel

Used to be really great, but it's been two years since an update and there are some bugs that dissuade me from reinstalling it again.

Borderline unusable. No access to? (question mark). No access to emoji key. Minimal mode is bizarre and impossible to exit. No idea what the devs were thinking with this one. Tutorial is no help at all.

I wanted to use this so I could type and see the screen when using a physical USB/ Bluetooth keyboard - but AnySoftKeyboard is better

Looks like they've pretty much dropped this app. No updates for 2+ years and they've gone completely silent.

whenever I'm typing and I erase the previous letter and try to continue, it will do the whole word again. for example, I want to type Lemonade and as im typing I spell Lemonaf, I erase the F , try to continue and I get LemonadddeeLemonadnade. I'm about to uninstall .

This app is not functional with the Android 10 gesture navigation enabled.

very clever and long overdue. it feels like an advancement.

I love this keyboard, always have, but I get some weird auto corrects sometimes.

So ive been using this for a while but since an update its unusable

this is the keyboard. no exceptions, this should be on your phone.

Loses stars for privacy issues.

not really compatible note9 android 8.1

It is a good application

Can you guys update the app to have the new emojis

I hope this keyboard worth the money

So this has been discontinued?

Why does this keyboard app was not updating frequently? It would have been better if this app supports more language because this keyboard depends on autocorrect function so countries like in the Philippines where we cannot fully used this app because it doesn't have tagalog.. We can only depend on inputting our own languages so it takes more time in the few months I think before you can be comfortable on using this keyboard.. So it takes so long.. This app has so much potential.. I've been following minuum since it started here i think that was 3-4 yrs ago but since last year im not using it because I was waiting for more support of languages..

Update: It doesn't work with the new Android 10 gestures, so either move on or stick to the old navigation methods (three or two button navigation. I've been using this keyboard for years, tried other keyboards and always came back to this. I can type faster on this than other keyboards and the auto correct works great for me. That being said, it hasn't been updated since 2017 and could use some tweaks.

I really like the concept of this keyboard. The prediction works very well and once you get used to typing on it you can type at a pretty decent speed. The main issue I have is not being able to move the cursor with the spacebar. While the amazing prediction removes some of the need for this feature, if you want to go back and correct a word it can be hard to get the cursor positioned correctly without this. Otherwise this is an excellent keyboard, especially if you use split window and hate how the top window is almost completely off screen while typing.

The only keyboard I use on Android. I recently switched to a new phone and dreaded the time I had to use the stock keyboard during setup. Minuum was literally the first app I installed and configured on the new device. No other touchscreen keyboard from my experience has provided me with a level of accuracy and speed in my typing as does Minuum. If you type a lot Minuum is a must have app for all screen sizes. Thanks for your amazing innovative work, devs.

(one year later) Punctuation and capitalization issues in Evernote and starting to see same in other apps. (One month later: still using and it's a good keyboard. Don't be afraid to expand it if speed and accuracy are paramount or using esoteric terminology - which I did NOT for this edit.) Not bad. I assume most reviewers are giving feedback in same day as purchasing. I say give it time and it will become easier.

I sadly have to change the rating from 5 to 3 stars. Devs don't respond. Navigation bar has replaced physical buttons for a while now, but the Minuum keyboard hasn't been updated to resolve it. As of now, expect everything in your spacebar row to be completely covered by the navigation bar. Sucks because I loved this keyboard.

A brilliant keyboard replacement, so easy to use with one or two hands and superbly accurate. I am enjoying the new controls buttons too, increases ease of navigation. Highly recommended. Well worth the money. Update!: the newest version gets better and better. Love the integration into Lollipop on my Oneplus 2. Update! - Now using on my OnePlus 5 and this keyboard is greater than ever! Love love love it. And digging the blue and yellow theme too.

Been using this keyboard since 2015 and it was an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately i have to reduce 2 stars from my review because it just keeps refusing to restore my backup when i switched my phone. I have placed my backup in every downloads folder there are on my phone, both internal and external but it keeps ignoring it. My native languange is not supported yet so the time needed for minuum to learn the words i use frequently are massive.

Clever single row keyboard, but the app hasn't been updated since early 2017 so not a developer to give money to. For example, this keyboard only has emojis from the olden days and none of the new emojis that all the modern keyboards have. So it's a good keyboard for free but do not buy the pro version.

I love this keyboard. I got it entirely because how small it is on screen. It is so cleverly designed, with just a couple minutes of practice you can type as fast on this tiny keyboard a full sized one. And it's so easy to switch back and forth, go to numbers, and access special characters. There is no better keyboard.

Refreshing new take on a keyboard and surprisingly beneficial to have more screen estate available to you while typing. However, one huge caveat is the lack of different languages. I would love to start using this keyboard, but until Danish (and Icelandic) is supported, it is a no go. I bought this app before it was out of beta solely on its promise, so I hope these two languages finds their way onto the roadmap soon.

Awesome App for lazy people like me. It just needs some small fixes/update, eg. when adding a ('s) to the end of a word, it changes to hole word, then I have to add it as a new word. Also when going back in a paragraph to before a comma/full stop and try to add atleast two words, then when I press space/select correct word, after the first word, it jumps to after the comma/stop. Then I have to go back and delete the stop and Re enter it where it's supposed to be

Great! Drunk typing is dope, hard to switch back. Predictive/synonymous emojis are terrific too. Backspace by left swipe is great. Customization is good. Only thing I hate is doing the damn tutorial whenever I reinstall it. happy to pay for the pro version tho, this is a terrific, fast keyboard. Trying the Spanglish feature and hoping it works.

The app itself is 5 Star rated, It Meets my needs, and is something I still use! 3 Stars because the app is technically dead... (No Updates since 2017, Creators don't answer about it either) - it's really a bummer.

I was so happy with this new take on keyboards, and the support was superb when it was new.. now it seems like whirlscape has a hard time staying relevant, since they focus more on emoji extensions and other quality of life things, than actually getting support for more languages.. been waiting since the keyboard came out, but alas.. lost money is lost.. don't buy this unless the language you want is already there, in the hopes that they might add it

Very creative. Very minimal, as the name implies. It's actually quite easy to pick up, and having multiple shortcut gestures makes it even more intuitive. Themes are also pretty nice. You can customize the size of both the shrunken keyboard and the expanded one. There are many other settings to fit the keyboard around your preferences. Also they do not take any data from what you type, as all phrases are stored locally in your phone. At least, that's what they say. There are no accounts to sync any info of your previous settings to a new device, so that may be an issue for some. However, privacy is more important.

The best keyboard out there, not very good at predicting other languages besides english, but it can learn. It was a no brainer, bought it on the 2nd day of my trial, two years later and I rearly change to other keyboards, only for some specific things. The only thing it's missing to be perfect it's the alt, ctrl, f#, esc,... keys; I only change it for the Hacker keyboard

Easy to learn and worth every effort. The small keyboard helps save time and space, especially when visible area is important. ** I used Gboard for a year on a new phone and finally came back for the emoji suggestions, small keyboard, etc. Now I use both **

When I first saw the app I was interested, but hesitant. Now that I have it, don't know why I waited! Works great and love the extra space it makes. Predictive text saves tons of time. Definitely worth it. ☺great new additions 👍FIRST app I downloaded on my new phone 📱

I love this app immensely. By far the coolest and best app you can buy ..I first was fascinated by its concept and the benefits. I know it takes time to adapt but it's great in the long run. One handed type never got better

I'm very picky about my keyboards and this is perhaps the only one that I really like. It has the most accurate typing that I've ever used. I mostly use Minuum in full size mode, but the mini mode is also good. I wish Minuum supported swipe-style input (ala Swype). I would love to have Minuum's awesome autocorrect with swipe input, but the omission is acceptable.

UPDATE: the keyboard doesn't play nice with Android 10's gesture navigation. Otherwise it's okay. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This keyboard is truly the best for one-thumb or two-thumb key mashing. Predictive text autocorrect does the rest. And is it ever good. Although the auto-emoji feature should be banned - don't you use that, you monster! Also it kept nagging me to rate it even though I did so quite a while ago.

Like anything new, this keyboard take a little while to get used to, but don't worry because after a bit of time, you'll become a pro. The only thing that is a bit of a problem is that you have to watch what is coming out because sometimes the predicted word isn't right. Would love to see Android Wear 2 support.

Simply one of the best keyboards and ideas in the smartphone era. I only wish it could be smarter about opening the "precision" keyboard. However, I think the value of reclaiming screen space while typing has diminished a bit in the era of the 2:1 aspect ratio phones.

Sometimes it will randomly make the next word I'm typing all capital letters. This just recently started happening. It will also sometimes suggest that I type the next word in all caps. Who knew a keyboard would want me go be more aggressive!

Development of my previously favorite keyboard was stalled some yeqrs ago. Now the keyboard suddenly crashed and couldn't be started anymore, even after restarting phone. Ended up without any keyboard until I figured out how to install a new one without being able to type to find it on the store..

Use this app for a while, let it learn the way you type and you will be left wondering why you would ever use a keyboard that fills half of your screen space ever again. This took me no longer to type than it would have taken with any other keyboard (except maybe 8pen which I never got the hang of) and I have it set to be the smallest it can be, I've only been using it for a week and mostly in Dutch! I feel like a badass using Minuum.

04/2015 Nothing really compares to the sorcery that is Minuum. Without a doubt the most innovative keyboard on Android an arguably the best. Pretty much perfect predictions and all the screen real-estate you can ask for. Getting better with every update. Perfect score. Update 09/2017 Unfortunately it has not been updated in months and is unusable on my G6 due to the app not seeing the soft keys as a barrier.

Want to see your screen while you're typing in a chat or text? Wanna use a full size keyboard instead? Want to customize the color of your keyboard? Want to be able to text your wife that you're safe but are too drunk to even see straight and need a ride home? Seriously, at least give the demo version a shot, you get used to it really quick, I personally promise you.

Hi, I rated the app four stars because I like it but am missing some functionalities. Maybe I just can't find them, but the keyboard layout is different on the screenshot than it actually is, is there a way to customize it? I mean the special characters next to the letters and the exclamation marks and so on. Also swiping for the special characters takes some time and is not always accurate, can a long press be enough if you just want the first or only special character assigned to the letter? A last remark, the auto correct seems to pick the word it thinks it is instead of the correct one it knows and I actually wrote?

The keyboard still works well, though it does still take some getting used to with how aggressive it is for word suggestions. Transitioning from single row to full board still works well. If you don't need or want swipe style thing typing, this is a unique take on it still, that has no equal. I still get people scratching their heads when they see me use this at times.

Been using this keyboard since beta, and I never want to try any other keyboard....ever. Love all the screen space I get back, but for some reason the sloppy typing is not as good as it was before. Not sure why, but the predictive typing is worst now than ever before. I will continue to use it, but my patience is wearing thin. Lets hope an update can fix the prediction acurracy.

Great autocorrect and customizability. But I have privacy concerns because the EULA says it sends data to the home servers and there's no way to disable that. Also it would be nice if there was a way to disable aggressive autocorrect for specific apps (Minuum is basically unusable in connectbot as-is).

The sloppy typing word prediction is really good. It gets it right 95% of the time. What I find is really lacking is the "next word" word prediction. It doesn't learn which words I personally string together often and offer them in the word prediction bar. If this could be improved it would be GREAT!

This is quite possibly the greatest keyboard app I've ever used. I can type exactly what I mean to type while also going as fast as my brain + fingers can possibly go. It's truely the kind of thing that Arthur C. Clarke was talking about when he said that "sufficiently advanced technology is nearly indistinguishable from magic."

Well, you don't need to necessarily get this keyboard for its intuitive minimal keyboard technology. You can also type stupendously fast with its full sized keyboard. The Sloppy typing feature is one of its kind and saves your life ! Go for it!

Very good. One thing I wish this had is swipe typing, although it might be difficult on such a small keyboard. Also, the letters on the keyboard are always in uppercase... So sometimes it is confusing to know what case you are typing. This is rather rare, however. I love that the size can be changed.

Is there anyway you can make this thing stop auto correcting actual words? When I type or I want or not if, of, it or anything else. Really frustrating.

Awesome app but there are still room for improvements. The thing that really anyone me is that I can't have äåå enabled at the same time I have both English and Swedish enabled(sorry for my bad grammar). plz fix dis

The keyboard is being covered by the navigation softkey bar on my LG G6. Had to increase my spacebar height to the max so that its usable. Please fix it. Update: e-mailed developer but no reply whatsoever. Very disappointing.

This keyboard is awesome. Reccommended for everyone. Worth more then what it's worth. It's a have to have. Have less problems then my full keyboard. Does not work with newest version of Android. Part of the keyboard gets cutoff at the bottom. I have messaged support and I have heard nothing about it. I wonder if this is still being supported at all.

no longer updated. that would be fine if the keyboard works great, but sadly there are a few things that prevent me from using it anymore. The biggest problem is the auto suggestion not being very smart.

I've given up on this. Nice idea, but a keyboard that depends very much on auto correction needs proper dictionaries. Only four languages? Okay, so six billion people don't matter, apparently.

It has some great features that I would like to see in other apps. I have downloaded and uninstalled multiple times over more than a year but I cannot get over how bad autocorrect is. I have to stick with Google's.

Gave the paid version a try and did not like having web addresses 'smart corrected'. Very frustrating to learn. I spend more time correcting it's flawed 'corrections' than I do typing.

Minuum has been the best keyboard on Android until recently. Now it doesn't remember words I've added and capitalizes every other word for no reason. I wish the developer would take an interest in it again.

I've been using this keyboard for a while and I think this is a fairly good keyboard. Yes, it does make mistakes sometimes but not all time and most if the time of works pretty good. Apart of this sentence was typed without looking at the keyboard and most of the time it chooses the right words. I'm pretty happy with sometimes it thinks that I finished typing a word of it adds the space way too early and that can be pretty frustrating, but nothing is perfect and this does the job most of the time.

On models newer than the Nexus 5 this keyboard should absolutely scream. It's as fast as a physical, full size keyboard, but its impeccable design and predictive ability is second to none. Definitely worth a purchase, but make sure your phone can run it, first.

EDIT: Devs have not responded to email or fixed bug I reported. Sometimes the keyboard UI becomes unresponsive and the only way to fix it is to reboot my phone, or auto-complete doubles words without a space, like 'responseresponses' when typing response. It is quite frustrating. I like the keyboard, but others don't have this bug, I think I will switch until it is resolved. A shame. It's been nearly two years since this app was updated, considered dead. REVIEW: Light, easy, simultaneous multiple languages, customization, accurate. What more could you want?

It's okay but breaks whenever I try to import contacts to dictionary. Also, still no Wear OS support. Also would be good if you could slide the space bar to move the text selector.

In love with this keyboard and can't use anything else but I just recently switched to the note 8 and it's not really compatible. The bottom area where the enter key/punctuations keep getting blocked by the navigation buttons on most apps.

Love it! If you're a thumbs texter, you'll love it too! Bought it a while ago, after leaving behind the treasured flip phone -- missed that all thumbs texting.. Sometimes the app can't keep up with me, and translates typing into spaces and delete commands, but otherwise I am consistently happy with my typing experience.

Quite good prediction, but needs training in real (UK/Australian) English. (Edit Feb 2019) Now has strange bugs under contemporary Android, and their website looks abandoned.

For years this keyboard has worked well in every app except Google Docs. Input delay skyrockets in Google Docs to the point, Minuum will simply crash. The developers have yet to even fix the issue, it's really disappointing as I love this keyboard and want to use it 24/7.

I liked swipe features but the speed and accuracy of this keyboard means I spend less time correcting and makes it totally worth it. I hate rating it badly but I took a star for a lack of a dollar sign on the full-sized keyboard. I will up my rating when this is fixed.

Have used and loved this keyboard since its inception but since moving to the Pixel 4 it renders incorrectly and gets cut off at the bottom making it nearly unusable. I've tried sending emails for support but I think the developers have just abandoned it. Shame, it was great little app.

I own a device that is used in landscape mode and any keyboard I tried took up the screen. Minuum allowed me to be able to see what I am typing and did a better job of auto correcting any errors than the stock Android keyboard.. This is the first app I purchased in the play store and possibly the only one I would willingly spend money on.

So far it's pretty good. However, it's not patched to support the galaxy s8. The navigation bar cuts off the entire bottom of the keyboard in both Minuum and full

This little keyboard can be tricky but it's aware of what you are talking so considering how tiny the keys are it figures what you MEANT to click and corrects your unavoidable typos quite well. It even learns your typing and gets better at correcting typos. It's not the easiest keyboard to use but it leaves so much more screen space for your apps that sometimes it's essential. Amazing tool for guys like me who use apps that get blocked by the keyboard.

The app works pretty well. The layout is really simple and the small keyboard design is really clever. Autocorrect is pretty good at finding out what I'm trying to say but it's not perfect. The gestures to erase a whole word are useful. I'll probably keep using this.

Freed up space on the screen is a big plus! You also get used to it in no time.

I am not great on phone keyboards but the sloppy typing feature has made me feel like a normal human. Being able to change the scale of the Keyboard was my main reason for buying and I have so much more room on my screen now. This app deserves every one of the 5 stars.

It seems to have gotten faster than since I last used it but that could just be because I'm using a much more powerful phone. Sloppy typing mode is by far the best thing about this keyboard, it's corrects everything and it very rarely gets the wrong correction. Essential for someone who is prone to hitting the wrong keys continually. Still way too many steps to access the [ and ] keys, and no text expansion is a bit of a pain but overall it's worth enduring for the way it helps those of us who are fat fingered. It's back as my default keyboard.

I like this keyboard a lot. I have used it exclusively for the past two years. It is more intuitive than those drag keyboards. It is not perfect though. It has lots of problems with choosing the correct word for 2 and 3 letter words. For example "if" and "it". It would be really handy if they used surrounding grammar and words as context to make a more accurate choice. That however is a minor complaint. My biggest issue is with swipe detection. When I am typing fast or using two thumbs or there is an app in the background slowing my phone down even a bit, the keyboard will incorrectly detect a swipe and either start a new word, or delete my last word and I end up with nonesense. This is extremely aggravating. If it wasn't for this I'd have given 5 stars.

Ive honestly tried to switch off of this keyboard after a long time of use. Nothing else compares though and i will always come back

I was a long time user and had to stop because of poor performance on Marshmallow. After trying it a year or so on. Oreo it isn't much better. Crashes frequently, can't import contacts for auto-complete, etc. Judging from the other reviews, the devs still don't care and don't respond. The app hasn't been updated in 14 months. They are apparently focusing on some emoji app and leaving the people who paid to support Minuum out to dry.

requires following permissions on your android device.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

find accounts on the device
Allows the app to get the list of accounts known by the phone. This may include any accounts created by applications you have installed.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

read your contacts
Allows the app to read data about your contacts stored on your phone, including the frequency with which you've called, emailed, or communicated in other ways with specific individuals. This permission allows apps to save your contact data, and malicious apps may share contact data without your knowledge.

read terms you added to the dictionary
Allows the app to read all words, names and phrases that the user may have stored in the user dictionary.

control vibration
Allows the app to control the vibrator.

prevent phone from sleeping
Allows the app to prevent the phone from going to sleep.

modify or delete the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to write to the SD card.

add words to user-defined dictionary
Allows the app to write new words into the user dictionary.

receive data from Internet
Allows apps to accept cloud to device messages sent by the app's service. Using this service will incur data usage. Malicious apps could cause excess data usage.
