As far as I can see this app works. Once I turned it on the voice command "ok Google" no longer brings up Google. The only problem I have is that I have a wire tapping app on my phone and it keeps throwing alerts that Microphone Guard is recording. It's not but it just conflicts with my app. I have a good Spyware app and it doesn't register as Spyware microphone or otherwise. My phone is clean of spy apps. Overall good app.

This is a form of SPYWARE. Don't believe that an app that could give privacy can be trusted. I have insider info about this and other apps that say it grants privacy. Camera blockers are the same way, they don't work. If you utilize youtube often, then you know what I mean by apps that say they will provide privacy. Malwarebytes is the same way, but it's much worse. Malwarebytes is known as Ransomware. Ransomware, Malware, Spyware, or any Weather app can really mess up your cell phone. If you note the permissions that the app is asking for then you will know what I mean. Don't believe that just because it 'says' it will provide privacy and protection that it will not mess your phone up and provide a complete stranger access to your phone. Do not download this or any other app that says it will provide privacy. When you load up an app for the first time, look at the specific permissions it asks for BEFORE you download it.

It still works on my 4.11 phone. But it doesn't work on 6.0.1. Now I need to find a new blocker. So long & thanks for all the fish.

Fail to permit an app and it still seems to work for mic. I didn't have signal permitted for months now but could still talk to people.

I just learned smartphones really have 2 microphones, and I love that this one stands guard over the one that isn't used for phone calls! I've noticed its battery usage has increased since installing certain apps. That tells me it's doing its job to hold down the fort. Well done. Only thing possibly better would be a physical kill switch. In a future update I would really like to be able to see Which apps are accessing my microphone, or trying to.

if screen on - off function is activated, mic turn mic on and off, way to late.. i use push to talk ptt, but if i turn screen on, can't transmit, couse i have to wait for 30'' for the mic to unmute.. i wish could be more instant. please fix this and i will give 5stars.

Really wanted to like this but it does not seem to work. Google voice assistant always manages to bypass the app. Not sure if the app is bad or google engineers have managed to circumvent any attempt at blocking microphone access. False sense of security as of this version.
