Not being a chess player, this app, through many examples, very nicely teaches you how to construct the correct ending of a game using only 2 moves.

If you are an aspiring chess tournament player, Gillam's simple checkmate is a MUST. Doing Gillam ideally 3 times aiming for faster solving each time will really seal the basics. Mate in 2 is VERY important. It separates the chess casuals from chess afficianados. Therefore, the question isn't should we practice mate in 2 but should we choose this app over Gillam's simple Checkmates which covers the most important mates in one and mates in two in organized gradation. yes if time permits.

Great for training as a beginner. Id appreciate the option for some theoretical explanations, however.

It repeats too much, becoming boring and kind of useless

I really like other Chess King products, but the puzzles in this collection are mostly trivially easy, like mating a king with two rooks on a near-empty board. This might be helpful for players brand new to the rules and play of chess, but I was hoping for problems I could lay out on my chess board and ponder for a while. There are a few tougher problems here, but i can solve 90% in a few seconds, and I'm not a strong player.

sorry but come on , the 100 first puzzles are like exact copies of queen + king vs king endgame checkmate . its so repetitive
