Google Play Reviews

  1. Jorge Moncada-avatar

Easy to operate and gives usefull info while on the ride. I use the heart beat monitor to see how I am doing during peak points in the ride. The app letting you know how your doing at the different mile markers is helpful. At the end of the ride, I like seeing how I did overall and compare to my previous rides. Great app, you'll love it.

  2. Jane Skinner-avatar

I used this app today ( 14 April 2020) as part of a trial with other UK horse riders. I did not use it as an aid to map reading merely to record my distance over time. Average speed was also not a consideration today as I made many short stops and a couple of longer ones. One of the bridleways was a dead end so I only factored overall distance. I liked the 15" reminders of distance & speed which may be useful when I next do an official endurance ride late this year.

  3. Marcy Santino-avatar

I have been using the app for several years and not any problems, until recently I now can't sync my heart rate belt to the app, where I never had a problem before and my elevation is not showing in my screen and I seem to have inaccurate miles when I walk or ride the same route.

  4. George Blanchard-avatar

    George Blanchard

Can't even get it to load. Error while creating account with no recovery but to cancel and try again, and again and again and finally gave up. Terrible UI to enter birthday requiring 500+ clicks to get my birthday only the have to do it again. Fire your developers!

  5. Amber Bradley-avatar

Worked great until yesterday. My workout wouldn't sync yesterday. Nothing showing up in my history. Thought it was my phone, so uninstalled and reinstalled. Now I can't even log into my account. Get this fixed!

  6. Linda Shankle-avatar

🚵‍♀️VERY ACCURATE. My bicycle odometer ceased to work because my bike fell and wanted to track my mileage as I did with my odometer. This Map My Ride App is a lifesaver for me especially since the bicycle stores are not opened right now for repairing it due to the COVID-19 making them non-essential businesses. Thanks MAP MY RIDE!!!!🚵‍♂️😊

  7. Kyle Jackson-avatar

Really good app for tracking cycling. When cycling an indication letting you know you reach a mile and the time it takes to reach the mile is spoken. Also, really good for tracking trail so you can choose a different route if like.

  8. Jon Kidd-avatar

Won't let me create a new account, says account can't be created. Tried to reset password to an existing account. It let's me go through the process, but then doesn't allow me to log in. Tough to use product if the account log in and create account don't function properly.

  9. Jigme Dukpa-avatar

The app works well. My only real complaint is that the ads make the app look a bit ugly. I think they might look better at the bottom of the screen instead of below the toolbar up top. But otherwise does what it needs to do.

  10. Dan Barzel-avatar

Not user-friendly. Hard to search for rides close to where I am and less I’m on the phone and in that location. Tried searching from a Chromebook not far away, with no results. It doesn’t user friendly and it’s really hard to work it to your advantage. Do not recommend

  11. Ty-avatar

Works great! I use this app while cycling. You can create your own route or check out routes from other people. The delayed start and progress updates through out your workout is the best.

  12. Tim-avatar

Worked perfectly. Restarted on it's own if I paused or stopped somewhere. Another Ap I was using would not automatically restart and half or more of my workout wouldn't be recorded. Very satisfied so far;1st day using you App.

  13. S C-avatar

First try with it and did great, will change to 5 stars if it keeps working just like this time. Has all the data i needed (mph, distance, time, etc) and didn't need every little bit of info on me to sign up

  14. The HooteNanny's-avatar

    The HooteNanny's

Works well for my basic needs not too taxing on the phone. Features differ iPhone to Android. Example music play integration and posted play lists with iPhone only. Good and bad to it but there's a difference.

  15. Rob Porter-avatar

Sucks. Wont let me share a ride, just spinning. More than happy to send advertisements and let me record a workout. Why would I pay for an upgrade when the free version is garbage. Strava will get my $$. You should consider switching too.

  16. Ryan Donovan-avatar

Everything I wanted and needed! The map makes it sooo easy to take backroads when needed and also keeps from getting lost. Distance and time is awesome too. Amazing tool for recording my workouts!

  17. Mark Nagel-avatar

It's ok. The free version has too many ads and the 'share' feature works maybe 20% of the time. Sad as they are missing advertising as I would want to post each ride on my Facebook.

  18. Keaton Odling-Thomas-avatar

    Keaton Odling-Thomas

Good for mapping routes if you remember to turn it on before, decent stats and location tracking. I would like the option to map it after I have ridden if I forgot or to save my data allowance.

  19. J A-avatar

Great app. I wanted an app to track my mileage on the bike trail. I loved how it told me every mile how far I'd gone and my average speed for the mile.

  20. Raven-avatar

It used to work great been having issues last few days. I uninstalled and reinstalled and now I can't log in and I've even reset my password. This app is trash now since I can't even log in 😡

  21. Lizzie81sml-avatar

Atm not good. Just recorded a workout, saved it and it was fine, tried going back into it to look at the map and all my routes have disappeared! (Whilst loading, random rapping music played, not sure if both are related)

  22. Elizabeth Cook-avatar

Been using for years successfully but since latest update it's not recording elevation. Also sometimes allocates rides to the wrong day in dashboard view! But still useful for comparing speeds and recording total mileage.

  23. Jarrod belshaw-avatar

GPS drops as soon as I turn of my phone screen and put my phone in my pocket, this never happens with Strava and it logs my rides fine. Only reason I'm attempting this app is because iconic sports stopped using Strava mid competition

  24. Don Knight-avatar

Cycling. I liked the regular updates on distance, time, average speed. Also being able to write a report on the ride for future reference. Great.

  25. Nicole Westley-avatar

I love seeing my end of workout results and all the data that is collected. The app is smooth but sometimes doesn't work in my somewhat rural area.

  26. John Bruins-avatar

Good app. I have had some problems with it not stopping the workout when it was supposed to. I hope that with the voice feedback that won't happen anymore.

  27. phill marshall-avatar

It's good when it works.... but, if I stop for a rest and use facebook or text someone the app stops shortly after without letting me know first. This ruins the data log and map.

  28. Wes Ulrich-avatar

App works well for road biking. My only suggestion for improvement would be to automatically stop the timer when you are stopped by traffic signals etc.

  29. Dale Pottinger-avatar

I use this app for logging bike rides. I generally do one per year because I'm not fond of cycling up hills or in the rain or when it's windy or too hot or even too cold. That really only leaves about 1 day per year.

  30. Kaleb with a K-avatar

Whenever I try to log in it keeps saying a problem occurred with no explanation!? My internet is perfectly fine so that isn't the problem.

  31. andy nugraha-avatar

Best app for cycling. Works pretty well even placed in background during the whole journey. Very robust and stable. Please buy the premium version it worth every penny

  32. Ian Stigler-avatar

Great app. Records your average speed and how many miles you ran or biked. I will definitely use this app more often.

  33. Michael Tarrant-avatar

    Michael Tarrant

Map ok but better resolution needed for older eyes. A filter for biking trail type would be nice addition, not going on mountain bike trails. Overall a good app.

  34. Joyce Meredith-avatar

I love this app especially when I remember to turn the location on my phone on. It tracks my route, distance and speed fairly accurately. I use it everytime I ride

  35. Reed Best-avatar

For years it's been a solid 5, now the ads have taken over and made I'd difficult to use. I can no longer access my history.

  36. James Gasson-avatar

Very good app! Does exactly as I would expect. I just wish I could find an app that worked as a cycling sat nav, for finding all those hidden cycle trails...

  37. Shaun Whelan-avatar

First day using the app, so far so good! Easy interface and just an all round easy app to get your head around! Very accurate!

  38. Andy Peel-avatar

Spot on for me, no complaints. Although would be good to see pace more clearly on the map view, different colours maybe.

  39. Kellie Morris-avatar

Great app. Does just what I need it to do. It tracks my distance, path, speed and the time it took.

  40. Kerri F-avatar

Love this app!! Even though I have a Fitbit I love this to track my bike rides, and it always works great for me.

  41. tim childs-avatar

DELETED - Cuts out once locked, then draws a straight line to last location missing half the route. Very annoying notifications every x2 minutes during ride. No chance

  42. Jonny Fox-avatar

Went for one ride, route was not complete as only showed to the end of my road. GPS is very poor - go for another app as this one is useless.

  43. Rebecca irizarry-avatar

    Rebecca irizarry

I didn't like that I have to press start and end all the time that I'm riding my bike if you don't it will keep tracking even when you are not riding

  44. Wayne Miller-avatar

Great app. Not used it for a while, but in the current situation it's a good way to keep track and tackle the boredom

  45. Nigel Vallance-avatar

Never let's me down, the distance is always less, than my watch /bike monitor, but I guess its more accurate as its GPS.

  46. John Malinowski-avatar

    John Malinowski

Love to see the routes that I've traveled. Miss seeing the courses & segments to compare my fitness to others on the same segment.

  47. Mark Weishaar-avatar

Pretty nice simple app, would be a solid 5 if it auto paused and used the phones gps for altitude figures. Auto pause is probably a bigger factor.

  48. Martin Hawkins-avatar

Been using MMR for several years, unfortunately it hasn't moved on, plus it's stopped the courses recently, so I can't compare my riding with others, plus the maps I share are terrible, what's gone wrong?

  49. Monty Knapp-avatar

I've been using this app for 3 years. Love it! I've use it on 2 different Samsung phones with no issues. Paid the $30 yearly fee for the "MVP" version. Not much to pay for the hundreds of hours of use every year. Mount phone running this app on my bike handlebar so I can monitor time, distance, speed, ave speed, calories. It records much more, including route, altitude, weather. Plan to buy a heartrate monitor soon so it can monitor/record that too. This is a great cycling app.

  50. Caesar Hernandez-avatar

    Caesar Hernandez

Easy to use. Simple didn't have any problems with connection the whole ride.

  51. Colin MacKinnon-avatar

    Colin MacKinnon

Not a bad app when the gps works. My activities are miles out and some non existent...disappointed at the current set up at the moment.

  52. Thomas Anderson-avatar

    Thomas Anderson

Start ride, able to pause at rest stops. Resume and end ride when completed. Working well, distance was perfect as I prechecked distance by car for my Daily routine. Great so far..

  53. Holly Tuilaepa-avatar

Great app. My daughter had to record a bike ride for a school assignment. Recorded time and distance

  54. Jeremy Ray Wilson-avatar

    Jeremy Ray Wilson

App. works as described. I do wish it had a real time speedometer. Other than that, this is a really good App.

  55. Richard Grant-avatar

App won't even let me log in. First it said "no internet" when there was and now simply says "request failed, unknown error has occurred"

  56. Erika Mensch-avatar

"Request failed" to log in every time. Reset password. Uninstalled and installed. Couldn't ever open it.

  57. John Daniel-avatar

Used to work great. Last time it work properly for me was January 15th. Mileage and speed was off as of January 18th and has been ever since. Maybe I shouldn't take updates as they come out. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy. S10 Plus. It indicates 1 mile for every 1.1 mile actual. ...and i really liked this app. ...and I removed and reinstalled with no change. Help please.

  58. Joshua Young-avatar

I hate this app. I'm sorry. Most of the routes they offered me were running routes because they all share the same data which was unhelpful as runners can use a sidewalk or dirt trail... No turn by turn directions meant I was stopping to look at the app every 5 minutes and missed several turns. The most frustrating thing was that I finally found a bike route and used it but the app does not distinguish the DIRECTION of the route. Basically ended up going the wrong direction on one way streets.

  59. Lyle Fitzsimmons-avatar

    Lyle Fitzsimmons

Makes workouts more fun. Always easier to stay on a program when you can chart progress.

  60. Old Bloke-avatar

Over all a good app but rather expensive. The earlier version had much more user friendly speed, time and distance graph. The current one is cumbersome and unfriendly; despite several requests to revert to the compact, easy to read version, we are left with this less informative, bulky, more difficult to see overall trends, version without any logical reasoning from UA as to why. If it wasn't broken in the first place, why fix it, and break it? What have you done now? Started good now, Rubbish.

  61. Jeffrey Dreger-avatar

Ok, takes a while to navigate the site. Still having trouble pulling up my workout history.

  62. Ed Pavlik-avatar

In use for over a year. Very user friendly. GPS turned off when battery is low so to keep cphone from dying on a ridoe.g

  63. Kenneth Stevens-avatar

    Kenneth Stevens

Easy to use. Nice that has voice announcing milage and speed as you go. Better than other apps I've rrief

  64. Mamie Dunne-avatar

Easy to use and helpful results. Ideal to store routes for tracking purposes.

  65. Bob Shea-avatar

Love all the apps I use the map my ride, map my run and map my walk. They all work great! Highly recommend!

  66. Regina Jasiewicz-avatar

    Regina Jasiewicz

Since the app was revised to "more accurately" reflect mileage, it consistently records significantly less than our group's odometers. While they are not as accurate as measuring with a rolling tape measure, this method was not done throughout the US. I will try other apps and if they are consistent with this one, I may consider returning.

  67. Deborah MacDonald-avatar

    Deborah MacDonald

Excellent app for tracking distance! I use it when I ride my bike while my german shepherd trots along side. My knees and hip hurt if I walk but bike riding gives me the ability to exercise with my dog longer than just walking. Love how it tells you distance and time spent! UPDATE: successfully trained my GSD to trot along side, now teaching my min pin to trot in same way. Wears both of them out but lets me exercise without too much stress on my joints!

  68. Igor Francetić-avatar

    Igor Francetić

I was looking for an app where I could find routes other members did, and follow those (I'm new in town). This app seems to have that function, although you have to watch the screen, there is no voice navigation. The only issue I had in my first ride was large battery consumption (90% in 1.5h), but I have to see was it due to this app or something else running in the back.

  69. Robert Wilson-avatar

Computation of data and routes seems to be relatively acccurate regarding time, distance, and calories burned.

  70. Heather Seger-avatar

Great app. Maps the distance, mph, map, duration. I saved it too. Love it!

  71. Thorn Hart-avatar

I love MapMyRide! I've been tracking my bike rides, walks, and hikes for about two years. It's really provides an incentive to work out and to beat your own stats! I also use the Under Armour app MyFitnessPal. The two are synced, so my exercises automatically update as I do them . Using MapMyRide and MyFitnessPal, I was able to lose over 60 pounds over the first year and I've been able to keep it off! I highly recommend both of these apps!

  72. Tiger Hays-avatar

Great so much easier than logging on to Google earth and trying to map where I went to figure out distance.

  73. Thomas Byers-avatar

First time using the app, still need to set up a profile and preferences. Worked okay, for a first time out.

  74. Nathan Rogers-avatar

Your app is garbage. What happened? I picked a route and started the workout, the route wasn't there after I started riding. I had to stop and start the workout over again and when I did it lost track of my HRM device. I didn't find this out until halfway through my ride. The screen keeps turning off and the GPS can't tell which direction I'm headed and so the map is spinning anyway and can't see where I'm supposed to go, and no navigation? What happened to this app!??!!? Very dissatisfied

  75. Marcus Haney-avatar

Gives great feedback for each ride. I've only used it to track rides I already know the route for

  76. Sy Sharp-avatar

Awful. Buggy as all hell. Doesn't save your data. Did 6 days of bike tracking then missed the 7th day. Added it manually. Doesn't show up on your dashboard. Had to manually enter data for today which it doubled up. So I deleted my entered data which it hasn't deleted from the daily total. Pointless.

  77. Kris O'Neill-avatar

I love this for mapping my cycle! It's the most accurate one I've found.

  78. Christopher Carter-avatar

    Christopher Carter

Accurate and easy to use, even for the "app illeterate".

Awesome app. It tells you what your splits are every mile even if you have your music playing. It also give you a place to write notes about the ride (i.e. cool things, lots of up-hill vs down-hill, injuries that would explain time discrepancies, etc.)

A bit unsure I have it set up correctly for my bike but, it is very useful & offers lots of info!

Don't think the mileage is accurate. Today the app measured my ride at 27 miles on a route that measures 24 miles on my car odometer. Also don't see how the calorie count adjusts for energy spent riding in strong headwinds where speed is adversely effected yet calorie count seems low. Conversely when riding with a tailwind where high speed is easier to attain with less energy the calorie count seems high.

Distance measure is consistently not accurate. For example, rode 40 miles today and it was off by over 1 mile. This happened even though the time it measured was within 20 seconds of the total time for the ride. So nothing happened to make it be off that much. My samsung watch and samsung health app on the phone are much more accurate.

100% satisfied. Tracked perfectly and even gave my voice prompts of my workout.

App accurately tracked my location, provided a verbal update each mile which is helpful for us newbies. If I rode 100 miles, I'm sure I would turn it off - but that can do that, too! And it integrated to my FitBit app, which is the icing on the cake - the Keto cake, that is! 😀

My wife and I do basic bicycling in parks and neighborhoods. It meets all of our needs. I would recommend it to anybody who just wants to track routes, time and distance. I don't need it for much else so I couldn't say how good the extra features are.

So far, so good. First time using it. The GPS and mapping appears accurate.

Easy to use and doesn't interfere with other apps such as spotify or texts.

dont f*"k up like Strava. otherwise ill be back to revise 😁 Update: it has been over 6 months since I last reviewed this app, All you need to know, is it will not let you down, like Strava. I'm not being paid to say any of this, this app genuinely deserves all the best. Fuc* Strava, although I do miss the social interaction aspects of that app.

Great app.....when it works. Unable to access my routes.

Excellent app. Highly recommended. I like how it shows a detailed route of what you've covered very accurate on distance. I like that it reminds you every time you've covered each mile. 👍🤗

Accurately tracks a short walk as long as you turn phone battery save setting off.

Works perfectly, even when your phone goes to sleep mode!

I like the app however it doesn't record the distance accurately. I do the same course most days but the distance is never the same. Also the calories burned varies quite a lot even tho I'm doing pretty much the same thing

The "Keep screen on" may have been bugged. When you get stuck in a traffic, say for two minutes, auto pause kicks on. After a while, the screen dims then goes off to sleep which defeats the purpose of the Keep Screen On app setting. Phone permissions are on so that is not the problem.

Perfect for tracking routes with split times and speeds breakdown for cycling.

3/2020 This app worked last year for my rides and is starting off great with tracking my walks! 7/2019 Map my Ride GPS is a great tracking tool while riding. The apps provides updates on distance, time, calories burned and cadence. Only one downside is figuring out how to see the map of the ride afterwards.
