Mangalore Hymns is a free android application which comprises of 410 Kannada and 251 Tulu Hymns which is widely being used in the Protestant Churches following the Basel Mission Tradition in Mangalore, Udupi, Kodagu, Hubli - Dharwad, Mumbai and Middle Eastern Kannada Congregations. These hymns were first published by the Basel missionaries in 1841, (lithography printed in Mumbai) which began with 50 hymns and in 1913 publication became the last edition. Since then it has been reprinted and widely used in various Kannada congregations across the globe. Christian Friends Network(CFN), is a group of like-minded friends who have been involved in various activities with an intention of ‘not for profit’. It was instrumental in the successful production of ‘Melodian’ an audio CD/program comprising of all the 311 Mangalore Tunes. Thanking God for all the blessings and resources that we are enriched with, we give back our talents, energy and resources through mangalore hymns. Glory be to God with blessings to listeners!

This App has been a blessing for many church members who sing Kannada and Tulu hymns that have reference to Mangalore Tunes. It is a pocket ready reckoner for mobile phone users who want to quickly get the tune of the hymns. The manuscripts are in Kannada and English. You can adjust the playback speed, choose from the list of music instruments and also select one or more of the four voices i.e. Suprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass. If it's not asking for too much, I suggest to have a download option for one or more of the voices of the selected hymn. A music notation would be another useful feature for choir members.
