Got to say, I am loving this app as my go-to epub reader. My only complaint is that you can't add multiple bookmarks at the same location. This gets in the way when I'm using a floating bookmark to track progress and want to add a quick bookmark to a page that I want to look back on later.

apk The phone sync works BUT..... It syncs by percent complete instead of the position. The Problem: if you have a phone with a smaller screen and the position is at 2% and sync to a tablet with a bigger screen, the tablet will display the beginning of the book basically. The app really needs to sync the actual reading position between any device no matter what screen size it is.

Great set of features. Lots of customisation options. I especially prefer this reader over others because it's the best I've found to work with Google Translate tap to select word & auto lookup.

It's changed to black n white colors/grey scale. I can't see color images in colors... Otherwise it's pretty good app.

Pretty good reader, they have tried to implement a lot of things, but with a lot of issues, and UNRESPONSIVE DEVELOPERS. There is no widget on either of my two devices, but the app has settings for a widget. The css is not rendered correctly. They give you the option of document only, document and user, user only. None of these are honest, there is more going on that they are not admitting to. None are accurate. They give you a box to write in your own css, but it doesn't work, at least none of the several things I've tried works. They give you the option to make different profiles, which change the UI. I made one for night. It doesn't find the books on my reader, making it useless. THERE IS NO HIGHLIGHTING. No highlighting and coming back to your highlighted areas. Even bookmarks don't highlight so you have to read all the text on the page to find what you wanted to highlight. If you want to highlight, you need a different app. (Lithium is good for highlighting and css, but lacks just about everything else.) Ambitious and one of the better reading apps but still very wonky and worst of all, developers who completely ignore customer emails. Maybe have abandoned the project. There are a lot of epub readers, but most of them are really bad. We NEED some good ones. This one has a lot of potential. I wish the developers would come back and improve this app or give it to someone who will.

Check your OS. Some functions don't work on later versions of Android. The ability to change fonts in Advanced settings is missing in this paid version when i run it on my device with Nougat OS. The free version however has more functions including the ability to change the font style on earlier versions of Android (Lollipop & Marshmallow). Therefore there is no benefit in paying for pro because it is clearly a lower grade version which the developers haven't bothered to upgrade.

  12. Impromptu Impression-avatar

    Impromptu Impression

While I would like to give it 5 star , I end up giving only 4 because of some basic lacking in the all important library management part, the app fail to allow me to manual edit book info ( meta data ) , or group select multiple select to add / delete tags or put into or remove from series / playlist. There is also a lack of online features like searching for book cover art or book info online. The PDF reader as most other reader fail to allow selection of odd/even or even/odd pair of 2 pages

A good app but don't waste your time tagging books. I spent 10 hrs tagging but now can't transfer to my Android 10 device even though it's using the same SD card. The developer is not answering support requests. Covid issues? Depressing because this is the best library manager avab when tagging works

Fantastic app. I have the pro version. Functionality wise it is 5 on 5. The text to speech works flawlessly. Giving it 4 only because the design is not the best. But the functionality often makes up for a lack in design.

No highlight feature. That's a deal breaker for me. Other than that, it's a good reader, it renders text well, better than Moon+. But how can it not have the highlight feature?

I just purchased the Pro version today, thought I can use paid Version both on my android phone as well as Android tablet. Some how I am not able to use it on phone. Not sure if it is only for one device or I can use it on both? Input from developers is much appreciated. Can't comment on usability at this point of time, may be later. So not sure how many stars the app should be getting. However it doesn't allow me to post so give 2 stars. It may deserve more stars in future.

I do quite a lot of "performance reading", sometimes off paper, sometimes using a tablet. I found the basic, built-in pdf etc. readers fiddly and awkward. With Librera Pro the facilities like favourites, bookmarks, reading modes, configurable taps, multiple file format support take it to an entirely better level. Worth way more than the price!

This is by far the best ebook and pdf reader for Android and for the money. The only issue I have had with it is opening epubs of large collections from various authors. One example is I have an epub of the complete GK Chesterton collection of writings. Adittedly, it is a very large epub and for some reason Librera won't open it. Other than that, worth buying and using! Good job devs!

From all the different ereader apps I've tried this is the one I use most, does everything I need, sounds out words I have no idea how to pronounce, uses built in dictionary, you can bookmark what you want. . 1.Would love a better find feature. 2. Also would like to highlight certain things for later review inside a bookmark.

Superb PDF Reader and ePub Reader. Well-organised User Interface. Easy to manage books and files. Many features offered and setting to suit your requirement. Highly recommended. Buy pro version to avoid annoying advertisement. Reasonable price and value for money. Anyway, unable to locate app in Appstore.

I do not often leave reviews, but this is the best ebook reader app I have used. Very configurable and makes the best effort to reflow PDFs that I have seen. Stop using whatever you're using and use this instead.

There are 2 serious long-term bugs with this program. It has been a long time since there was an upgrade but these bugs are being worked on. 1. The program will often forget where you left off reading the book. You can work around the bug by remembering to leave a quick bookmark. Irritating when you don't get the chance to leave the bookmark but it is workable. 2. Will sometimes fail to render a page with an error message. You can work around it by going back 2 pages and then forwarding it to where the error occurred. These bugs are significant but not fatal. Even with these bugs this is the best ebook reader. Hopefully these bugs will be fixed before some other app steps up and surpasses the functionality of LibreraPro.

Overall a functional application that does what it says. It reads files. That said, I have run into a few quirks and wish this otherwise stellar app had some additional functionalities. Being able to apply RTL and LTR reading on a file-by-file basis would be incredible for those of us with manga in our libraries, such as myself. For starters, the loading times are anything but good. It can take up to a minute for the application to load a file and start reading. Secondly, the app seems to have inconsistencies with files. I use the same program and format for all my ebooks, and carefully ensure that the credentials are correct. However, Librera Pro will occasionally: display the name of the file instead of the title of the book entered; not display the author; not display the cover icon of the file. Sometimes the files display everything properly, then randomly lose elements upon restarting. Overall it's a decent app that does what it says and can read a plethora of e-book file types, but be aware it's not completely polished. 7/10

I will say one thing about this APP. It was ❤️ at first 👀. Didn't think twice before going pro. However, I have one annoyance, and that is that I can't change the TRIM colour to white or off-white because the icons remain white. Can that be fixed in an update whenever that maybe. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍

This is a great, very versatile reading program with many features and supports many file formats. It has been especially helpful to me with my dyslexia and low vision. Its more than worth a try. You will love it. Preserves sketches, diagrams, and photos. Great for reading PDFs, ebooks, even comic books. Many text formatting options for ebooks. Cant say enough good about it.

Its a great app for reading epubs as well as pdfs. There are a few things missing that would make this a 5 star app. Such as marking words, drawing on pdfs and underlining selected words. If however you do not use or need these features I definitely recommend this app. Ui might seem difficult at first but stick with it for a little while and it will be easy.

Cannot open library anymore!! This was the best reading app I could find on the Play Store, but recently when I go to open it I just get a black screen! If I download a document & go to read it everything seems fine, but if I push the back button and select "open library" I get a black screen... Developers any suggestions? I'd like to keep this app & give another 5 star rating. Thanks!

Excellent App with great features. Just loved it. I have been trying various apps for reading my ebooks. I have been keep on trying to get an user-friendly app I tested and tried more than 50+ apps in different devices. I have been using the free version and finally decided to purchase because this is one of the best I used ever. Currently I have about 7000+ ebooks of various formats. And I'm able to load all of those with in no time. Hope that more and more formats will be added in near future.

This app is awesome. It reads all of the most used ebook formats and more. The only real criticisms I have are the inability to add one of my folders to my library despite reading and adding other folders just fine. It reads the books in the folder, but it just doesn't add them to the library. It also doesn't seem to have a way to fit to width. But I love the way it allows scrolling or traditional book reading.

A great ereader. My book collection contains over 8000 books. Librera PRO scanned the collection fast. It opens books fast. Page turning is fast. My only gripe is that this app is not useful to students as I found no way to highlight or underline text, nor any note-taking tools. But if you just want a good app to read books for enjoyment, then you won't go wrong with this one.

After trying the free version, I bought the paid one. Very economically priced app. Thanks!! Full of great features 👍 Who are complaining for the UI I must say it's quite intuitive and good to use. I didn't find any glitch. To prevent the lag, please use the pure white background, this generally happen with large size PDFs and you can experience the same with other readers with large PDFs. Devs please continue the development for optimization and features 😃 , although a 5 star app.

Just bought it as I was looking for a replacement of another popular paid ebook reader of which I got tired of dealing with bugs. Librera Pro is great and might arguably be the most feature-rich ebook reader on android. I have one problem though, scroll mode isn't smooth, it lags as you scroll and texts get a bit blurry. Tested the book mode and all's fine. Hope it'll be fixed.

Bugs. Was working fine. Purchased the app loaded up a couple books and started reading. Noticed that I cannot escape back to main menu. I have access to a quick Recents and favorites menu but that leaves me with no options to add any new books. No matter how I back out of a book, I only get a black screen even if night mode isn't enabled. There is no way to return back to a book once I land on this black screen however, if I press the back key on the phone, it gives me an option to leave

I LOVE this absolutely wonderful app. Perfect handling of large documents and collections, well designed and customizable UI and much more. Would have paid even a ten times higher price for the pro version. The ONLY thing I would wish for is an automatic switch between 1 and 2 page view depending on the screen orientation.

I've been beating my head against a wall with another reading app and I don't know how I didn't notice this one. Librera works very, very well without any headaches or frustration. I am dyslexic and words cannot describe how much I love this app. You have the freedom to choose the voice you want, and uploading files is a breeze. I have like two thousand books in this app and it's incredible. It feels like I'm walking around with a library in my pocket. It's very customizable. And once you take some time to understand the app and pick a voice, speech rate, and pitch that you most prefer you will love this app as well.

I would like to thank developer(s) for this great app. It's simply wonderful - better than Moon Reader. For all of you who are looking for a reader with great dictionary capabilities, look no further, this is the app you were looking for. You just press the word and dictionary of your choosing will immediately pop out with the meaning. The app itself isn't as polished as Moon Reader, there are few very minor bugs and inconveniences, but I'm sure devs will fix it with time. Really love this app.

I would have rated this a 5 but I had too many issues with the text-to-speech. Whenever I tried to open the text-to-speech portion of the program it would lock up my phone and I would be unable to turn down the volume and the tts voice would continue to read on for at least 30 seconds or more. I thought it was my galaxy note 8 that had the problem but it also happens on my tablet which is a galaxy tab 2. I've had to shut my devices off just to stop the tts. Otherwise it has some great features.

Excellent app, indeed a new way to read, the Text to speech is clear and customisable, you can speed read a paper while you go for a walk or take notes, the RSVP is a good way to quickly scan over what you're reading. I had the free version and liked it so much that I had to support them, the full version is damn-near free!

April 2020 version much improved for stability. No longer crashes or locks pages and thumbnails when you turn pages or escape from a large document. Make sure to turn OFF auto-update to preserve this stable version. Old Review: Latest version chokes on pdf files it used to read just fine. How do I go back to a older, functioning version? Auto updating drives your user crazy!!! I can't take it anymore. I need to find a stable pdf file reader. This is not it!

Excellent ! Librera Pro is one of the best e reader app. Dont understand why it was never listed in those so called professional review. The following two function alone, already makes it so worth it. One, it lets you make your own folder for books of different genre. Two, it lets you read books with the publisher's font. Its so important when you are reading books with cute fonts. Also, reading pdf with a 8 inch tablet, you can read vertically and change to "scroll mode". Fantastic app.

I've tried all the major book and document readers and Librera Pro smashed them all for ease of use, features and "just plain works." Deep customizability but if you want to just dive in and go, that's fine too. The deal breaker for me with magazine reading is that it needs to feel like having a stack of mags in front of you and Librera nails that. No fancy woodgrain cabinets for books; just no-BS access to Your Stuff. Stop reading this and buy it.

I have been using this app for years across many phones and gladly paid for the pro version. Easy to use but has a lot of depth for customization. It even works with dual screen devices if you enable book mode and view 2 pages at once. I hope improvements are made to take advantage of dual screen features but I know that is a niche market.

4 stars to represent my view of the app's quality relative to others I've tried. Has a great deal of features, trusts the user to figure things out and doesn't try to oversimplify in favor of a sleek interface. Comes with customizable color palettes and a wide selection of fonts. Relative to the hypothetical e-reader of my dreams I'd give it 3 stars. The biggest shortcoming imo is the inability to select multiple works at once e.g. for assigning group tags or removing works from the library.

I absolutely love the app since the very start when it was called different, i have been Pro user for almost 2 years and you never disappoint! I would only suggest that you could implement highlights and or underlining of text, and eventually in the future stylus support for readers like Onyx or Likebook. But overall Librera is the most complete ereading app on Google Store. Thanks.

One of the best of all ereaders, and ive tried many. Worth those two pounds. ###EDIT2### Ok, i updated librera and now i resume always where i finished last time. back to 5* 😁 the thing i love the most is that i can see how many pages are left in the chapter + the title of the chapter. no other ereader has it. tried probably all of them... again, the best one for me.

  64. James Keating-avatar

Best Android e-book reader (I tried them all). Well worth paying for, though the free version has full options. Highly customizable, no sales pushes (this is a reader, not a fetcher or sharer -- you download books yourself). I installed this on my Kindle Fire HD 10 and never use Amazon's inferior app. Autocrop great, though spotty. Reflow after changing settings slow. Dictionary requires installation of separate app (I installed GoldenDict with GCIDE dictionary). Dictionary pop-up too big.

With so many good readers out here, it's tough to choose a favorite. Each seems to be missing something, so you've got to keep three or four handy, just in case. Still, Librera is one of my top three, and I it use as much, if not more, than the others. It's nearly perfect for my needs.

I really like this app; probably the best android reader I've seen. The only flaw is the search within book function, which I think could be better integrated with the status bar rather than an independent window in the middle of the screen. Otherwise, a great app!

I would give this app 10 stars if I could. It is simply the best. My family with iPhones are jealous because this is only for Android. I learn how to do something new with the app every time I use it and believe me, I use it a lot. The only thing I can't figure out is how to have the text that's being read highlighted while being read out loud. If that's possible, then the developers would earn a crown. Thanks.

  68. Isocult-avatar

The text-reflow (also of pdf documents), font size and line spacing controls allow to configure to a comfortable reading experience. In addition there are many more options. Well worth the money. Best allround reader available.

Full of features but it needs to add settings for individual books not just general settings sometimes you need a landscape orientation for a book and a portrait orientation for another book and the same applies for brightness and other settings. Also it would be good to add shortcut for a book to the mobile home screen

There are not so many reader apps, that support PDF along with popular eBook formats, this one does. PDF is essentialy comfortable here, as it supports night mode and allows to lock horisontal page scrolling, super helpful! Very customiable, alllows tags, annotations and bookmarks. Allows to reflow PDF to make it somewhat eBook style, favourite reader for Android so far.

It is a good App, but it is hard to find where it is reading as there is no highlighting or underlining of the text that is reading. Please fix this issue and make it read wherever the reader wants it to read. Thanks for understanding.

Slow scrolling compared to other apps. I have a samsung s10 plus and was suprised to see that the scrolling is choppy and laggy. other then that this is an awesome reader and by far the best I have tried in terms of features and functionality. Just wish scrolling was smooth

i love the app a lot and is my primary way to read anything and study since im almost blind. it has a boatload of features. its a accessibility heaven for a niche. it has been wonderful going back to study with this on me anywhere. Ps, the devs are apparently awesome. Thanks guys!

I really love this app. Comfortable for reading documents. I'd like an option which applies gray scale. This night mode inverts colors, which is not bad, however, I prefer gray scale and inverted like Adobe reader for Android.

Wasted my money on it, you cant select an important text from any chapter and neither you can add any note for future reference. I would prefer google play books where we can add notes and select text. Notes and writeups help us to regain important info about the entire page without of reading the page or chapter entirely. Kindly add this option if possible else its of no use for me. Thanks

  76. Hakan Demiralp-avatar

This is one of the greatest ebook readers. The only thing to improve is book mode. It is sluggish, not smooth and responsive enough. I mean it has a delay for scrolling down the page with fingers. Hence the one star is removed. Other reading modes are fine.

  77. Emanuel-avatar

Great app, only issue is with cropped books and the cropping not affecting text to speech.... for example you have to listen to the title, chapter and page number every page and im not aware how to solve this. It seems if you cropped the top of the page, it doesn't affect. anyone aware of a fix?

SUPERB book reader. Have used several other readers over the years. This is the best of the bunch... clean interface, nicely customizable, easy to use. Developer very responsive to issues.

It's great, really great. Probably the best mobile reader available. The PRO version worths all the cost. Comprehensive display settings. Read aloud function has all the features needed now, including Replacements feature .

  80. Ryan-avatar

Escaped here from another paid reader after it's developer started forcing microphone and phone premissions. Librera is both faster, more stable, support more format, and support Text to speech. Not to mention it's open source! Highly recommand! Best reader on Android!

This app is almost nearly perfect. Please make cover art more manageble. Like with a premaid google search perameter and a easy "make default cover" option for easibility. One of the best things about customizing your library is adding cover art. I love the cover art to my books. Its painful on Librera.

I paid for subscription. Has multiple issues: 1.Not supporting many formats of books. 2.The original colours of the page are only black and white. 3.Not supporting all languages. 4. Had to download two apps to get the subscription. 5.Repeating the same question every time I open the book. Like (what is the language?). Silly!!

I had just gotten my galaxy fold 2 and I discovered a small use case that I thought, erroneously, had not been developed into an app: a two column e-reader with support for long format reddit text posts. After a bit of research I ran into this app. It is everything that I was planning to create myself. Completely worth the money. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely what I was looking for as a singer/guitarist musician. The musician's mode is simple to use. I write notes in the footer of a pdf for scroll speed, which also keeps me in time. The playlist feature is great for setlists.

I love this app. My only wish is that I could group the books by genre, i.e. cookbooks, novels, diy, etc. together as a group. If anyone could tell me how to do this I would appreciate it. Better still if there was a written guide for its use, that would be great. Otherwise, madly in love.

Great app except the bookmarks are a mess and no ability to highlight. I read a lot of nonfiction so this is important to me. I'd like to see on the page what I've bookmarked instead of that awful menu. Back to Pocketbook I go.

Kind of very disappointed. I was using Moon+ Reader Pro for a long time but I wanted to check out this app out of curiosity and because I wanted continuous scrolling even across chapters. * UX is not good and unintuitive * screen orientation can't be force locked against system locked orientation * !! low fps/stuttering in scroll mode on my high end phone !! Response : * I've read several hours. * Orientation Lock does NOT work! * Reducing review from 2 to 1 star because of cocky response
