Useful, fun and friendly without all the condescending bs of some other similar apps. You can do so much without going Premium that it makes you kind of want to give them your money. If you can't find the food you're eating there, you can just scan the barcode. The only downside for me is that sometimes it just says "one serving" and I don't know how much that means. You can usually change it to grams, though, if you have a rough idea of how many grams you ate.

In theory it would be a great app. Overall it was difficult to navigate, hard to add foods that didn't have labels and not made for people with multiple food intolerances. It would be great if you could make your own meal plan for the week choosing what meals you liked and also allowing a shopping list of some sort. It was cumbersome to go into each recipe and find ingredients. I also couldn't figure out how to opt out of an diet plan once you opt in. You could change it but it limits your food.

The app is great so far, was surprised to see the barcode scanner working on Israeli products. I'm considering the premium, but I ran into a problem: in "food preferences", when I'm choosing 'vegan', the app forgets my choice immediately as if I never tapped on this option. Don't know if it effects anything. And another thing - I see there are plans for eating low carbs high fat and protein. What if I'm usually doing high carb low fat? Is there a way for the app to support that? Thanks.

This is an amazing app. If you take the time through out your busy day to update the app after every meal and snack, it does the rest for you. Being able to scan the packet or content boxes of nearly every food item to get its nutritional value is a mega plus. You can also link it to google fit to track your steps and calories burned throughout the day. I could go on and on. Its awesome!!!!

Part ok/part just flat our greedy. I get that a lot of these apps want you to subscribe to get "premium" packages and open up cool, helpful little things. But then there's just flat greed. ONE example: I'm trying to do keto, this app was recommended to me for keto by Pinterest. I even set my diet type as keto in the app. Yet it gave me 186g carb count as 60% of my diet and you can't change it unless you pay.....which is 20 dollars a month minimum. Just is My Fitness Pal. It's better and cheaper.

The last update broke the recent foods screen. Only a small part of the list is visible on the left side of the screen. Please fix this! Other than that thumbs up! Fixed in the last update! I would recommend "search" feature in recent foods screen! Problem when editing the quantity of foods of an existing meal. It edits the food above instead of the selected food! Please solve the share issue. Right now sharing is not working.

Great app for tracking calories. Very user friendly and quick to add stuff. I find it pretty accurate, and you can report if something is off. You can scan barcodes or enter manually. Only complaint is that you can't add in a workout with calorie/length info to use again (manual add each time except for the few that are already in the app). Maybe just the free version. The app is also very encouraging 😆

Great app, simple to use. Just some nice additions would be nice. For example, if I make a batch meal for dinner I'd like to divide it into portions for my lunch boxes the day after. It's possible now by creating a meal, but then when inputting ingredients by serving, it doesn't split it proportionally. Also being able to see exactly which foods are brining down your total health score would be a nice way to see exactly what you have to cut out of your diet.

I have had this app (paid premium) for 1 day. Cost me $22 for 3 months. NOT WORTH IT! My Fitbit doesn't sync, won't let me delete things, it keeps adding water when I haven't had any. The list continues. DON'T waste your money or time! Hoping I can cancel and get my money back!

Love this app! I am currently using the free version but plan to switch over to the paid yearly subscription as I have seen the valuable options available for a very affordable price. While Lifesum provides recipes in their premium meal plans, my only suggestion would be to streamline an integration for inputting recipes found online from sources such as Pinterest. This would ease in the tracking of macros and eliminate the need to guess on provided examples (ie. Chicken Parmesan)

To be honest, I felt a little bit stress at first. But as the time pass by, I finally could find my rhythm. Lifesum helps a lot not only on losing some weight but to maintain my weight and be healthier as well. It's kinda motivating me. Like if I'm not eating the food I have tracked on Lifesum, I will feel so guilty to my body. I mean, I used to skip meal a lot so my body was kinda weak somehow. I didnt know how much I eat or how much I need. I definitely love this app.

It's a wonderful app if you want to make sure you are on track with your macros and calories. Their Keto burn meal plan though has me feeling hungry like all the time, the foods aren't filling in any way, and it's hard to follow because their daily net carbs, protein and fat with the meals the give you per day, don't match up with the daily consumption you are supposed to take.

I like the design of this app, and the idea of following diet plans that then translate into meals with recipes and shopping lists are great. However, everything else just doesn't work very well. All of the existing food options seem be off for calories and what is considered good and bad food. There are not enough options for food measurements, everything is weight or volume so it is not possible to say have a cup of flour. Once you select a unit type for distance and weight you can only use that type to measure food as well, so I need to convert everything to figure out how much I ate. I am able to make my own custom foods which is the only way I find it possible to have the correct calories and measurements assigned to a serving, but all of this combined makes tracking very tedious. It would also be nice if I could adjust historical weights so I can see my overall progress not just my progress since I started using this app, and a web version would be great as well. It would also be great if micronutrients were included, and if the health score of a recipe could be calculated based on the score of the included ingredients. I regret getting the premium version, someone needs to moderate the food options to make this app even slightly worth while.

This app has a easy interface that's the biggest plus point. Its yearly subscription is not that expensive either. The app has several diets plans and calculate what your requirements are for the day. The only down side is that lots of food items are not registered. So if you try to scan the barcode it ask you to fill it out which I find quite annoying. One last thing that the app something have wrong nutritional info when your scan your product. So be careful when you are on keto.

It's relatively cheap and perfect for what I'm looking for! I do wish I could change how many calories I'm taking in per day. I do love the water tracker, and I love that health is the focus over weight. I enjoy using this app. I like that I can save a combo of ingredients as meal so I don't have to log every individual part of my sandwich or salad every time I have one

I'm using this app for many years and had a premium subscription, just because it has a nice design and barcode scanning feature. But, the application becomes irritative — when you added a smiley face indicator near the food, you've lost me. Only vegetables and water could make this face smile, and even if you're eating some other good or acceptable products this face is quite mean and thus I have a very frustrating experience! I don't want to be judged for what I eat, I just want a handy tool to count my calories, don't push me! Looking for other options.

Brilliant app, and for that I rated it 5 stars. But now it's 3 after I noticed this problem: the app consistently changes the g for my protein, fats and carbs values. I don't know what the correct reading is.... The values change every time I open and close the app or review my progress from days before. Please fix!!! I really do love this app.

1. No ability to get feedback on reporting food for wrong nutritional value. Did the food get fixed? Can I edit it? How does reporting even work? 2. When barcode already exists (but wrong values etc), can't add a new item and make it default to the barcode 3. Make controlling your exact macros free. I don't wanna have to spend 30 minutes changing my calorie intake and exact percentages to get the right value. Putting it behind a paywall will only make people who are serious move to other apps.

I expected more options, at least tracking intermittent fasting , adding activities tracked with smart watches Food recommendations ! The worst part is that I paid for three months for things I can get for free with other apps , To be honest im so disappointed about the app, i chose the ketogenic plan, the app keep offering me non keto recipes!!! I can't connect it to my Samsung smart watch Many things to work on

Great experience using the free settings and tracking my dietary goals. Without paying any features I'm happy with the tools available. Easy to use, especially anything with a barcode and I bought a scale to measure out in grams the weight of other foods like fruits. The best part of this dietary planner/diary is if you plan your workouts, you can include it in your "day" and adapt to the correct macros. I save money by not over eating/eating unnecessary protein shakes or other macros.

I like it so far but I have two suggestions: one, make water logging more flexible (like Fitbit!) I drink water out of all sorts of different sized cups and glasses but you only get to have one size to log (am I missing something?) Two, I need a low histamine diet but this is not an option on Lifesum. It's not such a rare thing; there are plenty of us out there. Had a problem installing on my Lenovo Duet Chromebook but turned out it had opened another (concealed) window for logging into Google!

I think that it will be even better if you put a paragraph about tracking period because is important for women's life and health. I like the idea that you can connect another healt applications and i love that it has a lot of food from the world, because we all eat different kind of recipes.

I love this app to track macros but lately the net carbs are not registering no matter how many times I switch the settings back and forth. The only way to switch it is to uninstall then re-install, only to have it do the same thing one day later. Very frustrating considering I pay for a subscription. Please fix this error.

I really love this app, it has really helped me get a handle on my food intake. One feedback I would give, is I think it overestimates the amount of calories bribed through various exercises. I plateaued for a while because I was exercising heavily and eating to my recommended intake. If you keep that in mind, it's perfect!

Mostly easy to use, currently having an issue where my streak is stuck at 5 despite logging my meals everyday for the last 8 days. It may also be worth noting that weight fluctuates naturally and adding a more encouraging message when it goes up instead of down would be appreciated.

I like this app, but I would like more recipes for keto diet. I like that I can scan everything and easy write new meals. Tips are great too. Design is very nice. I subscribed for one year and I think that will help me to understand better nutritions. Great job on Lifesum.

I would like to be able to add my exercises and calories easier. Then looking up each time on another app how many calories I burn on certain exercises. This hooks up to the app on my phone but not my watch. I don't always have my phone on me at all times.

I've used this app for about 4 months and have found it to be easier to use than others. Barcode scanning is good. Also has flexible setting options. I would like to be able to import recipes with the option to edit any substitutions instead of typing it all in.

These food journal apps (if you're counting calories) are inaccurate sometimes. If you're scanning anything with a barcode its accurate but if you make something homemade with calories provided in the recipe and log it in or manually try to log it in it adds more calories. Working out is the same thing but opposite. It shows you burn fewer calories. It's great to see what you ate but I wouldnt listen to the calculated calories provided.

Its a great app to learn your intake. I bought premium and love the new recipes. I do wish there were more recipe options with fewer ingredients (or have the option to remove ingredients), but overall, I've had a great experience.

Good food log and I really like the ability to track some popular diets (that's how I figured out I will never be able to eat enough fat to succeed on a keto diet). The recipes are too limited to use though.

Great app but recently the edit for meals is no longer possible. If I added a lunch for example and I forgot an item and I wanna add it I have to delete the entire list and add the whole list all over again, which can be quite time consuming....

Diet is this most important part of weight loss and/or muscle gain, this app helps me increase my nutritional awareness by keeping proper diary of what I am consuming and tracking my macros while I'm at it. Tracking those macro nutrients challenges me to adjust my food choices throughout the day to meet my fitness goals.

This app/weight loss program is really working for me. For sure, no program will work if your head isn't on board with the idea of putting in the work, but I find this app to be simple and straight forward and so far I am losing 2 pounds per week.

Easy to use, cheap and the whole concept is just so good. Just scan everything you eat. Really easy to know exactly what goes in and out of your body. Tip is to buy a food scale to be sure of how many grams of the food you eat

I am enjoying it so far, but there are some quirks. I wish it would give a breakdown of more vitamin, and take supplementation into account. Also, there have been some inconsistencies with measuring units, and a few incorrect barcode scans that have come up.

Piece of Sh**!! To use their membership you have to pay 20 bucks up front. They offer no single month plan nor a trial to test it out. Only money hungry companies force you to do three month minimum. I was excited to try this out - guess I'll be installing and getting a different app

Very helpful. Also, great reminder to drink water since I rarely do. I'm the kind of person who is dehydrated but doesn't realize it. So having an app that reminds you helps.

I wish the notes that the app tells you when you update your weight was a little different... I understand it's automated but it does not send out the right messages for people first starting out a journey/learning how dieting works.

Very nice UI, but I seriously can't view the nutrition without paying? I input an item and it doesn't allow me to see the something like sugars, just a carb overview. Seriously? I'm switching back to Myfitnesspal...

Changes (in grams/order) to already placed food items get reverted the first time they are made. The same changes need to be made a second time to remain, i.e. stick. This issue has existed since at leat July 2019. Using on a Galaxy S7.

This is an amazing app for tracking calories and diets! If you record everything you eat and follow the plan that you have chosen in the app then I guarantee you will lose weight! One thing I would love to see added is the ability to share meals/recipes that you have created with other people. Me and my girlfriend frequently eat the same things and its aggravating to have to create the same meal twice on our individual phones.

It's an amazing app. I have been using it for over a month and I want to keep using it. The premium feels a bit expensive, but I activated it. I would suggest 2 improvements. 1. let the user change the language of the app. I use my phone in English because I'm a programmer myself, but I am Italian and live in Italy and having to translate each ingredient in the meal plans' recipes it's tiresome and discouraging. 2. Not use colours as red for meal plans cause it makes you think you exceeded cals

Upgrading to the "full version" aka paid subscription vs. a one time purchase is pushed too hard. Also with the "free" version you can't go back and look at your previous days food/workout entries. This is basic functionality that I feel should be included. It's a good app so far but could be better.

Good nutrition tracking app. Large database of common foods, including packaged and restaurant foods. Create your own personal favorite foods and meals list. Track water and caffeine intake as well. Set personal goals and food programs. Tracks macros and calories. One wish list comment: Wish there were a way to quickly search for or sort both the Recent and the Favorites foods lists for easier selection rather than having to scroll long lists or remember how you named your food/meal.

I've been using this to guide myself into gaining a little bit of weight. I don't always hit my calorie goal or protein goal but i put effort in regardless. I didnt realize i'd been eating VERY little compared to how much i actually need to eat daily. Now i eat a proper amount. My only criticisms would be for more exercises added. I like weightlifting so if you had squats w barbell w adjustable weight etc that would be great.

This is a great app! I tried this one out after a few other didn't work for me (namely MyFitnessPal). This one just kinda has everything you need. With proper exercise, this app will for sure help you gain, lose, or maintain weight, with a number of different diet plans to choose from. In my first 4 weeks, I went from 197lbs to 180lbs simply by adding a small amount of exercise and following this app. THANK YOU, LIFESUM!!

Trying to get back in shape after gaining 'the Covid 19', and decided to give this a try. I have the premium service, and have been logging my food regularly. It really does help me pay closer attention to what I'm eating, and gives me an easy way to track calories, especially on fast days (doing 5:2 currently). I like being able to synch this with my Fitbit. Lost one star because I've had a number of hiccups with bar code scanning, but overall quite pleased.

I'm really liking this app. It's cute and not irritating with a hundred notifications and reminders. The paid version gives you a lot more control but you can totally get what you need from the free version. The only thing I wish was better was, when you're inputting food sometimes will say "one standard serving" but I wish it told you how much one serving is for that food. Example, "one standard serving, 0.8 oz." That one change would make the app perfect.

I paid for the premium version. I enjoyed the app f for about five months. All the sudden it would not link to my Samsung Health. I uninstalled it and re installed it. I forgot my password, and I never received the link to create a new password for a week. Then after contacting them, I was provided a link that didn't work on the app but only on the website. They have no phone number and I keep emailing & direct IG message them with little success.

Perfect app if you are only interested in tracking your calories and macros. It's actually really simple and convenient in how you search/load food that you have eaten. And it's kind of a fun way to track your water intake as well. The ability to save meals that you frequently have is a game changer as well. The one negative to the non-premium version is having to depend solely on the app's algorithm for setting the macros based on your weight goals. There needs to be a "customize" option.

It used to be an awesome app and I used it for almost a year now. Until the last few updates, I don't know what they did with their APIs or something, every change you make randomly reverts to the past. I keep losing the data I enter after a few seconds and it doesnt happen all the time which makes it more frustrating

Edited: Super annoying that some things have improper information and when you try to fix it you can't because the app doesn't think it seems right. I should be able to submit a picture of the nutritional tag if you don't believe me. Super annoying. Took out all the other stuff because this is the biggest issue. Every time I try to fix something "take a look at the calories they don't seem right". I don't want to be forced to input higher calories than I'm actually consuming.

UPDATE: The paid version is totally worth it! Love the meal plans and additional metrics tracking. Would be great if there was a meal planner option for classic dieting so all recipe options were available! 😉 The free version is great. Easy to use. The scanning feature is very convenient. It is a fun and interactive app for tracking food water and exercise.

Pleasant animations and easy tracking combined with a system that encourages a healthy lifestyle rather than just focusing on weight loss has made this app a delight to use. I think the UX for the Profile tab may be able to be improved, but otherwise the app is much more enjoyable than other trackers I've tried(e.g. MyFitnessPal). I'm really glad I found this and I look forward to continuing to use it.

This app does what it needs to. I've used it for years and it helped me lose a lot of weight (to be fair, it was used with exercise apps too). Despite the 5 star rating I gave, and I do believe it deserves the rating, I've been having an issue with the app duplicating meals. I never had this problem before, so I was hoping the developer could look into this. When I say it duplicates meals, this is what I mean: for some reason it'll duplicate meals I've added to my day for some reason.

The app is great but the one thing that is screwing it up is the database for packaged foods as well restaurant and fast food. Albeit that most of these foods should be avoided, the fact is many people still partake in some of it occasionally and there is no avoiding it. My problem is that several items I've come across have incorrect values and while calculating on my own have discovered several discrepancies which could lead to improper balance for users as well overeating or undereating.

Like the app all in all, the annual subscription is not a bad price either, just that it doesn't offer so mich more compared to the free version. My issue however is that it suddenly stopped synching with Google Fit and Samsung Health since two days ago. I no longer can see my calories burnt through workout or activities that my smart watch records.

I love life sum. User interface is super easy to use and it makes tracking a lot of fun. I do wish the weight tracker was a little easier to use and edit. Sometimes, it bugs out and says I'm weight like 200 pounds over what I do. And I think it throws my data off. Other than that, great meal choices. Great app 👍😺👌

Decent app. Like the design and love the ability to scan food directly into the estimator. Do have a few issues. Doesn't always save if I delete an item from my list of foods or change the quantity (I put food in ahead of time to plan). No algorithm to take metabolism into account. Left guessing how many calories I actually need. Nutrition record by subscription only. Would rather purchase. Having trouble entering new items. Required ml or grams for serving. Don't know how to calculate those.

This app is a great tool for weight loss! I have used it for six or seven months, and I've lost 45 pounds! I use it every day to manage my food and water intake. It has also helped me make better choices when it comes to what foods I do eat! And this is only with the free version!!! 2020-09-06T13:49:31.231Z
I subscribed to the premium service, which required a one year term. Their marketing indicated that I could withdraw at any time and get a prorated refund for the unused months. What they didn't say was that if I used it, the withdrawal was void. Since I bought via Google Play, it will be next to impossible to get a partial refund. Oh! And the app is not so great either... there are better ones out there for free in many cases.

The app is close to perfect, but not quite. The free basic version is totally functional, but if you want to track EVERYTHING you'll want the paid-for premium version. Connects to Gooogle Fit fine. I've had minor issues with scanning foods (it takes the nutrition info but doesnt always get the portion right, also i'm in canada and half the time it takes the french info) but nothing unworkable. Occasionally it seems to have visual information glitches, but again nothing major.

2020-09-02T07:31:45.350Z
Faulty nutrition info, little worth paying for. The nutrition data found within (often by users) is faulty. Not their fault, but other free apps have more accurate user data. Even when the data is correct, it may not display correctly if you create a 'favorite' meal for frequent use. I paid for premium to understand macro nutrient breakdown better (like sodium) but no greater insight given. I also cannot figure out how to set my own calorie goal.

Been using this app for about 2 weeks now. I really like it. All the encouraging messages make it easy to keep tracking your meals. I just wish that the food database was managed, or audited for accuracy. It seems like there a some inaccuracies that could easily be resolved.

Getting more and more patchy in syncing with my samsung health app. Need to sync and reset everything quite often for it to track steps, won't let SHealth read my food anymore (while SHealth still has that in tgeir sync options). It was such a good combination because SHealth did automatic tracking and Lifesum let me scan food, now they are both lacking.

Great App if You're on a Weight Loss Journey. Even if you don't get the premium version, Life Sum is a great way to help you if you're dieting, you workout, keep track of your weight, and so on. I made a mustake and paid for premium in advance for a year. The app lacks important features. The sync with fitbit and health mate is weak. I have to log manually which is not acceptable. Changing accidental loggings is really hard. No kg based recepies logging, I have to know in advance how many porcions my recepy has. Gave feedback also to devs which got generic answer. I would not recommend this app and even paying for premium as there are many other apps out there doing better job. Answer to devs: I can not sync my food with fitbit nor Health mate. Also, I can not move food from dinner to lunch or vice versa. MyFitness can do it all.

Updated review, the previous update killed the app but the patch they sent out has fixed the bugs. Great calorie counting app. Easy to use. You put in your weight, your target and your target date and it works out how many calories you should have. Not all premade foods are calorie correct on the app so just double check packaging, but they do amend if you report problems.

In my experience LifeSum is a good app that I have recommended to my friends. I like that there is a free version just to count calories but I really enjoy the extra recipes that come along with some of the plans with the paid version. The only negative feedback I would have about the app is while I love being able to sync your fitbit, sometimes it takes a while for the calories to load into lifesum

Bought premium subscription for this app and it was the biggest dissapointment. There is absolutely nothing helpful about it. I really stopped using it the second day. You have to put all the ingreadiants manually for you meals, then what it calculates that i eat 800 calories which is impossible if i eat 800 calories per day i will die within a month. I don't understand this app i think it a complete waste of time let alone wasting money on it

When i scan a product with the barcode more often than not the information is wrong. I can't edit my own recipes if i made a mistake i have to do it all over. And i can't delete the bad one. A bit expensive for premium for what you get. Too few confirmed products. When you start a diet if you make changed lets say eat day 3 food on day 4 it takes to much time to fill in the food details correct just give us the choice to tap the + and select which day we ate it. And add more partners!

the meal plan and shopping list should be available for all plans. Other than that, it's pretty good.

The app is awesome. It has so many meal plans, easy recipes, and does all the macro counting for you. You can set your ideal macros and calorie intake and it does all the math for you and suggests recipes and foods that fit your macros. Seriously love this app.

Good app overall. Not alot of options to choose from; whether it's diet plans or the reminder settings they are pretty lackluster. Mostly accurate calorie counts for the food. I would recommend if you want a straight forward food tracker app, not for diet advise as well.

The only thing I complain is that there is a lot of premium features that you need to pay

I'm frustrated with how the wording is when you're asked for the premium account. I honestly thought it was going to charge me monthly at the 2.99 rate for the yearly subscription, but no, it charged me all at once and now I am negative in my bank account t because of it. So thanks a whole hell of a lot. That money was for groceries.

All great, wish it would have more food items listed already in the app without having to add more.

Overly complicated. You'll spend more time with the app than at the gym. Otherwise it's nice.

I understand and like what they're trying to do with this app, but a lot of the calories in it aren't right. I'm ashamed to say it took me about 2 weeks to figure it out, so that's 2 weeks of dieting that isn't really dieting because my calorie counting was off. Pretty frustrating.

Pretty good app. I just hate popups for premium on any app. I get why but its annoying lol
