Reviews From google play store

Wonderful unintimidating app. I only use the free version so far but I love how it always gives me a positive perspective on everything I've been tracking for the day. I wasn't looking for a strict app to help me diet. More like, this app is helping me make lifestyle changes. Specific diet plans are an option for this app which is cool. The only thing I would suggest is increasing the food and exercise database. Makes tracking a bit of a challenge sometimes.

It's a really good app for food tracking, especially for starters. The premium option allows for a bit more freedom in customizing your options while also offering more details about your lifestyle reflected in what food you insert. It helped me lose 15 kilos in under a year without a lot of exercise (main reason being the details about my nutrition i didn't think about)

It's an ok ad, I just wish some things were better, like diets to focus on taking in less cholesterol or less carbs, less sugar, etc, as can be recommended by a doctor. Also you tell it you're allergic to something (seafood in my case) so you can't eat it, but then later it tells you your seafood intake is low and you should eat more. What.

What an incredible app!! I have always thought about utilizing something that i can turn to for helping me stay on track with my weight loss progress. I never really knew where to start and luckily there have been many youtubers who live by this and i was convinced to try! Im glad i did! And the Premium is so worth it!! Love the healthy recipe ideas to help change up my usual healthy stuff. And the calorie tracker is ridulously easy to use!

Thank you lifesum for the temporary free trial, as a disabled student it was helpful. A month ago I wanted to start keto and make sure I do it right. This app stuck out as not just your standard calorie tracker. It's beautifully designed and easy UI, it also tracks macros and net carbs unlike many apps. It has great UI/UX to keep you in the know if you're on the right path or not. Where it falls short: meal plans fully dont work if you put any allergy and recipes are bland.

Really good, most of the nutritional info on products is accurate and there's a report button for those that aren't! A ton of different diets and meal plans to meet your goals. Links up to other fitness apps. I could go on and on, just go see for yourselves!

It's great except for when someone enters in the wrong nutritional information for food items. It doesn't allow you to correct it as it will say there is something wrong with the energy count. It's really frustrating! Please fix! Or at least let users fix it. Or everyone could just enter in the correct information 😂

Lots of inaccurate nutritional info, very difficult to quickly find something previously used as the "recent" and "frequent" options dont keep many foods long. Also the carb percentage bar is automatically locked at a minimum level 7% for keto strict diet, this should be our option. It's a cute app with pretty graphics and setup but too difficult to use.

The interface is overblown and tries to do too much. It's main goal seems to be to make you reliant on their services. It has the ability to enter recipes and your own food entries, which is good. But the interface is confusing and requires far more data than I care about tracking so I just used Simple calories each time instead. Also, the interface forces you to enter foods in breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack. That is just typical of it trying to take too much control over my diet. The main reason I am not giving more stars, though, is the database it uses. Any food databases that does not include a grams serving for all non-liquid foods fails in my mind. The number of grams is required on nutrition labels, after all. So it is not like they did not have the information. Instead they too often have completely pointless serving sizes like "pretzels" or "Quart" for a frozen pizza. A hummus that I like has milliliters AND deciliters but no grams! They will need to do a lot of work on that database before I will look at it again.

Used to be great app but since the last update it doesn't just not allow me to add anything, it also keeps deleting my past progress and all of my meals!!! Due to customer support taking the mick instead of sorting out the problem, I'll have to uninstall the app. Customer support claims in the comments that they'll help but when you email them, they don't do anything except tell you to get lost. I gave the info that they asked for and they didn't do anything about it. They don't fix app problems

I have used other apps to try and keep my eating and fitness goals on track and lifesum is BY FAR the best app! The premium version is so worth it! I'm a super busy person and I love how the app breaks it all down for me, gives me options and recipes, and even makes a grocery list of what I'll need for my meals for me. Not to mention how fun the graphics are! Very well done!

App does not give you meal plans, it has suggestions for different things but not the actual plan. The recipes are very limited, not much to choose from. Not worth the money what so ever! They also will not refund any money if you don't like it, and continue to charge you for several months afterwards.

Loved this app for so long, I have a premium account and have for a year or 2 but lately the app has been nothing but trouble. I try changing the weights/amount of food and it doesn't change it or it puts that weight for a different food, sometimes I open the app and it has created a double for every meal/ingredient I have entered for the day and I have to go through delete and re-edit items 😭 I am starting to think I will look into another food tracking app

I can't seem to be able to create an account! I'm at the last step (the one where you put your email address) and when i put it it doesn't do anything, it just leaves me on that page! And if I close the app, it makes me do all the steps again! Can I do anything about that?

This looks like a really good and promising app. Unfortunately I will never know because in order to make it work you have to pay very steep reoccurring fees to activate almost all of its features. I'm on installing this right now. They don't even give you a demo virgin to look at all of its features.

App has been super helpful so far -- I've lost 19 pounds in about 3 months. I just wish more of the features were available without such an expensive subscription. Tracking sugar and sodium shouldn't be a premium feature.

I paid around $35 for the membership so that I could get meals plans but the meal plans were very very limited and didn't have a range of meals per diet plan. Overall not happy with it. The free version is almost just as good as the membership

So far I've had a great experience tracking my food and fitness. I'm starting slowly because these are changes I wish to make last, so basic diet plan. And the only thing is some times trying to find adequate calorie counts for some foods..but other than that I'm enjoying it.

Good idea but not very good implication. Advice for the developers: when one select from categories, make it searchable, as one types. Otherwise it takes another life to find a piece food from the category(ies). Removing for now.

Very good app, the only problem they charge you all at once. You have to pay the monthly who is way more expensive if you just wanna try out the app. They should do like Netflix, select your plan and pay for it MONTHLY

From when I installed it and when it updated ours later the recipes for removed. I event went shopping occuring to it. Disappointed. When they were there I would have love to be able to adjust the recipes.

Its an alright app, easy to track calories. I just would NOT pay for the premium again. I feel like there is limited diet plans and limited meal options. Premium and regular are basically the same thing, from my experience.

Pretty good app in checking, sometimes there are some typos in the things you scan and sometimes it doesn't show the exact product which I have scanned. Generally good, I have been using this and there has never been a massive issue.👍

This app is a really good way to count calories, and I ended up losing a fair amount of weight. It kinda sucks that there are a lot of things you need premium to do but over all it still helped me a lot.

I thought I was subscribing to their monthly program for the year it's said something like $3.99/Month.. They charged me all at once. How am I supposed to to cancel the subscription at anytime if I don't like it, when I'm being charged for months I may or may not use. This is false advertising and I'm pissed.

I Hate this app 😡 it say you need to pay for things which is stupidbecause you should just be able to get tips on how to lose weight eat healthier or gain muscles you shouldn't have to pay for this sort of stuff

This is the one for me. I like the way the plans transition from easy to harder, and it is keeping me on track. I like that I can select the exact grams in weight for everything.

I like this app, it tells you when you should hydrate, it's good for macros and easy to add recipes.

I got a premium membership but it locked itself on a plan and won't update anything so it's honestly less useful than if if only used the free portions. Will be cancelling asap since their customer service is not even accessible via the app itself

I like this app. It tells me exactly what food I need to eat. I just wish it would show a picture or tell me the best food group I should eat per meal. I stress a lot about which food group I eat more or less of.

Love that it plans out all the recipes, charting everything. It goes above and beyond keeps everything hands on an visual. So your goals are always before you.

I've tried so many different apps, this one for sure did it for me. It's so easy and sends me reminders!

Excellent to help keep on track with calories. Quick and easy. Reminds you to eat fruit and keep up water intake. Very pleased.

Only just started using lifesum but I do rather like it, makes tracking my macros easy and convenient. Also would prefer a few more features when not on premium but premium is still worth it for the recipes and other content.

I didn't start yet but I bought the premium version in order to follow your plans. But unfortunately I checked one problem, in the settings, allergies, I tried to define some of them but the app never saves it. Meaning that when I go again to Allergies, it reset everything. I hope if this is fixed and by working with this app, to give the 5 stars!

Looked great but is too USA focused. My local supermarket doesn't sell arugula or entrecote. Paid for a 1 month membership and cancelled within 3 hours. Couldn't find things on the add list that I know are on FitnessPal app. Would love a refund of my £6.99 thanks!

Great app, but the constant popup about buying premium is getting on my nerves.

I have a premium account and can't seem to find a way to report a bug. My Fitbit integration is not working properly.

I signed up for the premium membership today, which was advertised on 30% sale, meaning I would be paying R34/month (South Africa) as it stated. However, when I put in my payment details, it immediately charged me R523, 81. I have two problems with this. 1. I wasn't aware it would charge me a lump sum, but thought it would go off my account monthly. 2. R523, 81 ÷ 12 = R43,65 (not R34) This is false advertising. I would like a refund and to cancel my premium membership. Please contact me.

Paid for a full year of premium and have only used if for a month, not worth it at all. I'm currently trying to get some kind of refund. So many food listings have the wrong nutritional information. Shopping lists based on food plans always have duplicates or super specific ingredients that need recipes of their own. Just stick with MyFitnessPal and save yourself some time and money.

Just downloaded and all the main most important features of it like recipes and diet plans require you to subscribe for premium. I downloaded it because it was advertised as a free app and I already can't afford a nutritionist. What makes you think I can afford to give money to an app I've never even tried out to see if it's worth it or not? Even for only a free trial it's just lame.

Great app to log and monitor calories. Plus great recipes(diet filter is great)!

Crashes every time I try to put in info. Update my weight? Crashes. Track a meal? Crashes. Literally unusable.

Great app and helpful for monitor food intake. Better than a lot of diet programs that force you to restrict.

This app is fantastic! I can track my intake of food everyday and know which foods are to be avoided. So far I've lost 1kg and it's only my 1st week! One thing though, I've been using samsung health to track my number of steps. For some reason, I couldn't sync it to lifesum. Could anyone help me with that? Thanks a lot:)

Disappointing Food Database I really liked the different meal plan options. I paid for a one year subscription. After three months I quit using the app. The calculations were off and needed to be calculated in grams. I didn't have any weight loss while using. I went back to WW (Weight Watchers) and I'm getting much better results.

Great app to track calories, carbs, sugars and eat more healthy the easy way.

Not great. Requires subscription for basic functionalities that you can get for free on similar apps.

this app is fantastic! Love how easy and simple it is to use and it's great for calory tracking. Nothing wrong with the app at all. the only thing is that it would be nice to have a few free diet plans and one of the slots, like the breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks etc. Slots, but for drinks such as a cup of tea, coffee, or if your having a cheat day, a glass of soda. Overall this app is great and I have reccomended it and still will recommend this to anyone 10/10

An easy app to use, nice design with lots of foods' nutritional info in (I haven't found any product with a barcode that isn't in the database). There are many great features, like a water tracker by glasses of water, calorie counting, tips, and a few general nutrients (fat, carbs and protein for free, more if you pay for premium). On the downside, some information on food is slightly inaccurate.

Excellent app, very useful but a few more features without having to buy premium would be amazing :)

This app has been very helpful in monitering my calories and protein intake. My only complaint is if I eat anything extra for lunch at a different time than the original food added, or any other meal, it's not adding it to the calories eaten. When I created a new meal, it combined what was already there with the item I scanned. Maybe I'm not doing it correctly... I don't know. Is there anyway to fix this?

I love the app, it has already helped me lose weight but more importantly to eat healthier. It is extremely user friendly and bar code data base is really impressive. Unfortunately for a few days now it started to have bugs, to freeze and not react or search indefinitely for food that I know is already in data base. I tried uninstalling and installing the app but it continued to do the same. I hope that the bugs willbe fixed soo .

Overall I like this app so far: great library of food; nice interface; robust nutrition info. But in general it would be nice for someone to care about those of us who need to gain weight. I need to gain at least 10lbs and already eat fairly healthy food, just not enough of it. Their "personalized test" is entirely focused on junk food and overeating. Also, when I actually manage to eat proper meals, app tells me I'm "over" my calorie intake which is annoyingly discouraging.

It was perfect until couple of days ago when it suddenly stopped syncing with the other apps as for example Samsung health. I would like that to be fixed asap. I've tried everything but nothing works. :( :( please fix it. I cant manage to write a new review so I'm editing this one reporting a new problem that came up yesterday... this app now is multiplying whatever i load on the exercises, so if i write 45 minutes weights that the app load it twice :( PLEASE FIX THE APP!!!!

Really reliable! Ive been using this app for a while now and I can say that it has really helped me lose the unwanted pounds that I wanted to lose. The calorie limits are reasonable and safe, though when I put in some foods the calories in the data our a tad off. Otherwise, it's a great app and I'd highly recommend it 😁👍

The app is great for tracking intake; it offers a nice interface, it has a big library of food items, and it provides the nutritional info for each item. But having data loss as feature "if you log out of the app", is not acceptable, especially as a premium user. What am I paying for?? At least have an option to export data, not just wipe everything. I am permanently removing this app now, there are plenty of alternatives out there.

UI is mostly clean, entering data is fairly easy. Subscription price feels high.

Diet plans and recipes are premium features, I've already lost interest. Since the recipes were listed in the screenshot that's why I installed, but to find out I have to pay to see any of them is a real turn off. Seriously, give people a free month of service and many more will sign up for years. Have a basic free plan and recipes, I don't care, but the illusion of a free version followed by everything is a paid feature is frustrating and unwelcoming to me as a potential paid customer.

I like the food item database and auto scan features, but i downloaded lifesum to sync with samsung health and im finding the syncing between the two is abysmal. It stopped syncing for several days, after claiming it had been, until i uninstalled and reinstalled lifesum, then it would only sync the current day of data...all the prior data did not sync. This app has potential but needs to get with the times...quckly. Ill be actively looking for a replacement with Samsung health compatibility...

The app may be good, but I paid for the three month subscription and did not consent to pay for it a second time. Before the first three months were over (apparently the period ended on September 3rd) they charged me for another three months even though I never agreed to that. I have now cancelled my subscription (which I shouldn't even have to do) and demand that the next three months are not charged.

"LifeScore" is too half-baked to be a premium feature. It's intended to be a motivational and informative tool to help you improve health. But the system mislabels exercises tracked via Google Fit, and mislabels food (eg. claiming I eat too much processed food, despite literally never having done that). There must be a way to categorize logged to help the system out. Similarly, the system must be able to show exactly which ingredient(s) it deemed bad.

This app is really buggy. Things I found so far 1. If you update your weight from 169.1 by tapping down it doesn't change into 169.0, it changes to 168.0. 2. If you end up updating the weight multiple times there is no way to remove the wrong entries. 3. Some items have multiple entries with wide range of calories. Grape tomato is one example that ranges from 0 calories to 29 calories. Also it lacks features 1. It assumes each custom meal is a 1 serving, which is not always the case.

I'm torn with this app. I bought premium but it works the same as a free app I was using. I don't like that the measurements change for every food item, it should be the same across the board. I would also like to see my net carbs and total carbs. I guess I was hoping premium would break things down a little more.

Inncurate Google fit tracking data.. I did about 20km at work yesterday, I do construction labour, up and down stairs, using power tools, moving materials etc.. Physical active work.. I put in my food at the end of the day as I was too busy, and it's saying I only did 2000 steps, not the 18000 to 20000 I actually did.. How can this tracker work if it does that?

This app looks good but is hard to recommend as anything useful in the app has been locked to premium subs only. I understand that the developers need to monitise their work but they should offer a trial period to allow people to see if the app is worth the investment or not. The fact that they don't offer this tells me that the developers themselves have no faith in the app and by offering a trial period they know a lot of users won't extend the sub because it's probably not worth it.

Nice app. Has every Norwegian food in the database which is really nice, using barcodes is really useful. The only time it failed me was when I tried to scan my first price salmon, and instead it showed as lasagne, but there still was other salmon in the database so it was fixed anyways. It would be 5 star if the app showed some love to apps like Huawei Health and Huawei smart sport watches to track steps etc so I wouldn't need to count in my workout calories manually which is a little annoying

I can't wait for my current donation to this diary app ends. There's no web app that you can manage your personal recipes and enter your daily intake and stats. It's difficult to create a meal plan on your phone/tablet alone, and it won't allow to plan for just a week at a time, including shopping lists (only for full plan period, e.g.,, 3-weeks). There's no "partners" plans and no way to share personal recipes with a partner that is on the same plan as you. When I tried to share my recipe with my wife it just sent a link to what I ate (look at me! yay! I ate this!). I expected my wife to be able to import the recipe so she can also track the meal. Instead, my wife has to replicate everything I do, except keep track of her own weight. PITA. The only help this app gives is nagging notifications to track your weight and water intake, show your cals/carbs/etc. remaining for the day, and to take a health test. It will track your exercises, too. When I say all that it would seem this is a really helpful app, and I suppose for what it is many do find it useful, but I need something that does a better job at custom meal planning. Ultimately I bought into a phone app recipe club with more articles on their web page. I do like that it shows micronutrients, but you must pay the premium to get that feature, too. I don't know what I was expecting, but a food diary doesn't help me. I'm just going to move on to something else.

Just watched a Sanne Vloet video and her ios app seems to have more features. There hasn't been a major update to the android app for years!

The diet plan I wanted, Keto, is not free. To use Keto you must subscribe to premium.

Used to be 5 stars until the most recent update and now I can't connect my Samsung Health data. Please bring it back 😭

I like using this app, easy to calculate, scan option very friendly

I subscribed for the meal plans. They are a joke. You can find better in a magazine. There are 3 plans, but they share a lot of the same meals. Each plan had around 10 awful choices for each meal. All the other plans are just food/recipes you enter yourself. BEWARE, if you cancel, you are out the entire subscription cost. Google does NOT refund you. I am 20 dollars the wiser, although I might just go do a chargeback right now.

This app was great for the month or so I used it initially, until a recent update changed the interface of how the app syncs with Samsung Health app. All permissions got dumped into one "all permissions" (which is bad... but OK I did give all permissions that were previously there, but at least they were individual and described... now it is hard to tell what gets shared...), and now this sync does not work. It has some flaws, but by far one of the better and easier calorie trackers I've used.

Very disappointed, paid for premium and recently got a new phone. All my data didn't transfer across, what is even the point! Also, can't do much with the app if you don't have internet, very disappointed all round.

Wasted my time signing up. I'm looking for recipies for a keto diet and I'm looking for a good app that's not making me pay to find them. So I sign up, look at the recipes and boom, only for premium. Really?😒

So few features available to try I can't see if I'll like it and I'm not dishing out $20 on the chance I might like it. I need to do keto because I'm diabetic, but can't see how this would work with that because, nothing is available to try. I'd like to be able to try premium before I pay for it. Maybe a 5 day free trial.

Overall a great app. I really like the reminders of updating the weight and the opportunity to add water and fruit/veg portions. Unfortunately you can't see any of the recipes without paying and only create a few own meals. It's very annoying to always have to add every single ingredient of what you ate again and again..

Before investing in this know the dev is not US based. A burden of unit conversion is required; recepies, food data input, reference to weight in kilos. The food DB is rife with inconsistency and error; notably serving "names." Reporting errors has yielded zero corrections; they don't care. Track net carbs? Nope; unless on Keto plan but still wrong (see Reddit). Feature requests ignored. Cannot share food, meal, recepie with partner.

I thought this was an app with the ability to get recipes and meal plans with meal tracking. I made an account through email before even being able to see any of the features. Finally after logging in, every second I got an app pop up to pay premium. I realized that nothing in this app is free except tracking but why choose this app for meal tracking when there are better ones who are completely free. Please notify people which features are free and premium in app description.

Very easy to use - much easier than Carb Manager or My Fitness Pal. Very clean and nice looking interface, water intake reminders and weigh-in schedule. Good recipes and meal plans, and a choice of different diets which show you an A B C grade for each product for a specific diet. Lost 5.5 stone since counting my intake using this app since January.

The app is excellent in calculating out your macros as well as braking it down into an achievable manner via, goals/meal. As well as provides beginners with diet programs to follow to find some footing. I'll be more than happy with the app once the addition of all micronutrients become trackable as well as all the other current features, until then 4 stars will do.

I haven't used the app much, as i just found out im 5 weeks pregnant, so i give it a neutral 3 stars for now... However, I'd love to see an update that adds plans for maintaining healthy eating and weight gain during pregnancy!!! There don't seem to be many, if any, apps that include that!

It's free, it counts my calories, it tracks my exercise and water intake. It can be as simple or as complex as you like (especially if you pay for special plans). But I prefer it simple, for free and accurate and that is what it gives me.

The design of this app, its feautures and effectiveness have had me coming back. As a long time user though I have noticed that there is no new content, and some new recipes would be much appreciated! In my opinion, there are not enough of them.

NOT FREE!!! What a surprise, theres hidden costs. You cant get recipes or meal plans unless you pay. The only thing you can access is the food diary. Now, i am willing to pay but, im just looking for nutritional advice and healthy recipes. I dont want to lose weight or hit goals. So i dont think i SHOULD have to pay.

This app would be perfect if I could change the amount of kcal, carbs, prot and fat I can eat a day. I appreciate it being calculated for me, but I want to eat more proteins since I am doing a lot of exercising. It would be nice if I could change it. Is this something I can change in the premium version?

It's good but it shouldn't have so many premium exclusive things

It was working well for the first couple of days, it then started glitching a lot and it said I was doing double the exercise I actually was doing, however, it has a wide data bank of ingredients and meals, which is helpful.

Good but at the same time horrible app. Great for most things but the simple things screw it over. 90% of the time i cant search for foods it just keeps loading. I even decided to buy premium, great idea but once i started a diet it would not let me exit it. Good app overall but the small things make me hate it.

Terrible , misleading app. Abusing the users trust. Gives a test, but results are paywalled

this app is great it is helping me with my weight never seen so much improvment it is helping me eat healthy and to exercise this is an amazing app it is very simple to set up i think you should get it if you have a goal to achieve with your weight it also tracks how much water you take in this is a great app and i hope you get it .

Doesnt communicate with fitbit. You can get exercise info to lifesum but fitbit doesnt list the calories and macros from lifesum. It's the prettiest food app but it needs to expand and quickly. I don't think I'll be signing up for premium again unless they can work with fitbit.

Good but not perfect. What I would like to see: 1. Ability to attach photo to measurements in order to track progress. 2. Better UI for weight tracking and other measurements. 3. Ability to attach photo to a meal.

There is no grocery list and meal plans don't seem to cover breakfast and lunch, just dinner. Also, it'd be nice if they created meal plans that were based on common ingredients. Otherwise we're spending a ton on food. There is also no indication that we're getting in our daily nutrients. Can't recommend premium.

Simple to use, really motivates you to stick to your calorie limit

This is a great app the ONLY app ive ever had in my 9 years of having smart phones that I would actually pay for!!

Awesome aap, but it would be nice to provide facility to add more items to breakfast/lunch/dinner sections. Because once I opt-out any item to either of the sections then I'm unable to add further more into it. Rest all looks great!!! Thanks.

I Iove it and hate it at the same time. It's that kind of app that cares more about making lots of money than it's users (as it should). I can't use premium so I don't have access to most of the features of this app. Aside from that it's a nice app.

Really useful and tons of foods already in the database, the premium plan is worth it, great easy recipes to help me transition into more food prep at home. This alone pays for a year of the app the first month by offsetting my dining costs.

requires following permissions on your android device.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

run at startup
Allows the app to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the phone and allow the app to slow down the overall phone by always running.

prevent phone from sleeping
Allows the app to prevent the phone from going to sleep.

receive data from Internet
Allows apps to accept cloud to device messages sent by the app's service. Using this service will incur data usage. Malicious apps could cause excess data usage.
