Reviews From google play store

I used to use Underarmor MyFitnessPal, and I'm glad I switched. Lifesum takes the cake in terms of visual appeal and user-friendliness. It also allows a lot more personalization. However, I will say it kinda sucks that you have to buy premium to use the majority of the app's features. Thankfully $3-4 a month is relatively affordable.

Very easy to understand UI, versatile, and very good looking. The only thing keeping it from five stars is the lack of "official" nutrition information from restaurants. For example, a food maybe listed, but it's missing data (like a burger from one fast food chain was logged with no fat, despite being the top search result) or incorrect data. As long as you read the information and take it with a grain of salt, this is one of the best for calorie counting

I have been using the app for three days and I am enjoying it so much that I feel tempted to get a subscription since I want to try a different diet plan. However, the fact that there is no free trial makes me wonder if the extra features are indeed worth it, or if 'll be committing to one disappointing discounted year.

It's the only food tracker I've ever gotten the premium version of. You can scan barcodes to find foods, they rate them so you know how well you're eating not just calories, and the app is clean and user friendly. My only criticism is that it's recipes are bad. Really, genuinely unhelpful. They're all super bougie and expensive with ingredients I can rarely splurge on. I have never found a recipe that I can actually make using this app.

A big disappointment... 1) Poor Macro tracking layout/GUI. 2) No Micro-nutrient tracking!? Seriously? 3) No dark theme, in 2019, really? 4) No paleo option. 5) No FODMAP info. ...I'm stuck using Samsung Health for now since it at least has macros AND micros. I'd pay for Lifesum premium in a second if they fixed these issues. A decent example is a nutrient layout like Samsung Health with micronutients & color coding.

I've had the app just a few days and so far I love the interface and the amount of meals and fast food the app knows about. I hope to get the premium subscription soon but I wish there was a week trial to see if the app offers what I need to better my lifestyle. Another update I hope to see is accountability for diabeties and other possible lifelong health problems, although it does account for preferred foods, allergies (nuts, lactose, gluten, etc), and how much you eat certain foods, etc.

I am starting to lift weights but there is nowhere I can add the weight and number of reps for each set. Please add to make this app useful for those who incorporate weights and not just cardio into their regime.

Maybe good if you are a premium subscriber, however I think its something that I can get for free using Myfitnesspal. I know you need to make money but not counting macros is massive and I can do that for free. Uninstalled

I saw it was rated good. Idk why I choose to get the year subscription but big mistake on my half. When you scan something, nothing is correct. I search for things and they cant find it. I try to set my own calories and it doesnt let me. I wish i had not wasted 30+$

Nothing is free. You have to pay in order to do anything. No way to see recipes, start a plan or track food unless paying the subscription.

I love it so much because it helped me lose weight and eat much healthier so it's basically just asked you about your goal if you want to eat healthier or lose weight or gain weight and then it helps you with that and even counts for you how many calories have had and stuff like that

Not much to do in this app because its key features, most features in fact, are behind a paywall. It does have Google Fit sync though, which is a must. But other than that, there are apps which doesn't put everything behind a paywall.

Very well designed app for tracking meals and fitness, but meal plan recipe selection is limited and doesn't remember dietary restrictions each time you go back to look for new recipes.

Great app, does everything I want it to do only thing it tells me I can eat alot more than my fit bit does and I'm wondering why this is bit it's a good app for sure, am enjoying using it and finding our how good my food and eating habits are.

Great app! Readily available calorie information of almost all foods. Even Indian dishes! Just a small issue. Somtimes getting more than one calorie value option for same food.

Good but not perfect. What I would like to see: 1. Ability to attach photo to measurements in order to track progress. 2. Better UI for graphs. 3. Integration with Huawei Health

Great app helps alot with keeping track and being helpful to you as an individual. I also accidentally bought they're advanced membership and asked for my money back and got it back the next day.

This app is really great, best results losing weight using an app. The plans are really convenient with grocery lists included. The plans also offer easy to make meals that are really tasty.

So many pop up ads to pay for the premium version made it unusable. Also not a lot of products to choose from so worse than MyFitnessPal.

I wish there was a sleep tracker, mealtime notification and option to track vitamins just see if you are getting your daily intake of vitamins. The set up is nicer than fitness pal but fitness pal has a lot more options to track.

The app looks alright upon first looking at it. You do a quick form, say what your aiming for then it recommends you a plan only problem is it cost money to even look at said plan. I get the fact apps have to make money but for sake of preventing time wasting please just say from the beginning you need to pay for subscription to use this app do you wish to continue?. Its not that hard and yes you lose a few customers but theres people who cant afford to pay for stuff like this at any point.

Hi There I just downloaded and paid for a year to get things on track. You need to have a look at the app, the words are too faint, you can hardly read them. Thank for getting this sorted as soon as possible. 👍 Just went back to app, and the set up process can hardy read the words, quickly thanks Also could we have a medication section and category, thanks

I wish there was a week trial option before the plan started. I just bought the three months and it doesn't look like any of the meal plans are going to suit me. There's no control over the overall daily calorie intake and I can see already it's to high for me. Plus most of the meals contain ingredients I don't have and will likely not fit my budget or that I have sensitivities to so I'm going to have to alter them. Might work for others but not for me.

I can't register. When I enter my weight as 180 lbs in the LBS field, it returns an error "your weight must be more than 5 Stone" and the cursor moves to the Stone field. I tried entering my weight in Stone and it says "your weight must be more than 14 pounds". I reinstalled and restarted. No luck. Huawei P20 Pro.

Pretty useless unless you pay for it. No point in signing up for new methods bc you have to pay if you any help that comes away from a standard diet plan.

I just spent money on this app and I cant even access anything except my diary! I keep trying to refresh it and no matter what I am still stuck on the diary page!

So I initially loved this app. I dont know what upgrade caused it to be way too glitchy. For starters, my food search/barcode scanner doesnt work on my wifi, only when I use data (pricey). I used to get my life score every Monday but I havent gotten an updated life score for a couple of weeks (it's turned on, I checked) and when I got one before that, it was spotty. Even scrolling through the app is glitching. It went from a product I could easily recommend to one I can't wait to delete. Bummer.

I have only been using this app for 4 days now and I already see and feel a difference. I am doing the gain strength option and I am loving it. I eat pretty much what ever I want within the caloric limit (which is 2200 calories per day). But I'm also not gaining fat right now which I am really happy with. I will definitely keep using this app!

I truly enjoyed this app. I liked the design, the food ratings, the large data base, and I really appreciated the weekly life score. I eventually upgraded to the premium version, but 1 week before the end of my subscription, I was automatically charged without any notice and I really did not appreciate this. It made me lose trust in the app and also I wanted to just get rid of it becausee of that.

I tried to sign up for the 3.99 a month plan and it charged the WHOLE THING at once. No happy. Its friday so I have to wait till Monday tonget my almost 50$ back

Diet plans and recipes are premium features, I've already lost interest. Since the recipes were listed in the screenshot that's why I installed, but to find out I have to pay to see any of them is a real turn off. Seriously, give people a free month of service and many more will sign up for years. Have a basic free plan and recipes, I don't care, but the illusion of a free version followed by everything is a paid feature is frustrating and unwelcoming to me as a potential paid customer.

I didn't start yet but I bought the premium version in order to follow your plans. But unfortunately I checked one problem, in the settings, allergies, I tried to define some of them but the app never saves it. Meaning that when I go again to Allergies, it reset everything. I hope if this is fixed and by working with this app, to give the 5 stars!

The interface is overblown and tries to do too much. It's main goal seems to be to make you reliant on their services. It has the ability to enter recipes and your own food entries, which is good. But the interface is confusing and requires far more data than I care about tracking so I just used Simple calories each time instead. Also, the interface forces you to enter foods in breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack. That is just typical of it trying to take too much control over my diet. The main reason I am not giving more stars, though, is the database it uses. Any food databases that does not include a grams serving for all non-liquid foods fails in my mind. The number of grams is required on nutrition labels, after all. So it is not like they did not have the information. Instead they too often have completely pointless serving sizes like "pretzels" or "Quart" for a frozen pizza. A hummus that I like has milliliters AND deciliters but no grams! They will need to do a lot of work on that database before I will look at it again.

Hi. I'm totally enjoying my experience with Lifesum app. There's just one thing I want to suggest. I truly hope you can make this happen. I hope there is a feature in this app where I can submit my completed diary at the end of the day, and something will pop-up saying my est. weight after a specific number of days/weeks if plan is continued constantly. This kind of feedback keeps me motivated. To keep users motivated during this long journey is what makes a fitness app the best among the rest.

This has been the best app I have ever used for keeping track of my food/carbs. Highly recommend!

Lots of inaccurate nutritional info, very difficult to quickly find something previously used as the "recent" and "frequent" options dont keep many foods long. Also the carb percentage bar is automatically locked at a minimum level 7% for keto strict diet, this should be our option. It's a cute app with pretty graphics and setup but too difficult to use.

This app is really buggy. Things I found so far 1. If you update your weight from 169.1 by tapping down it doesn't change into 169.0, it changes to 168.0. 2. If you end up updating the weight multiple times there is no way to remove the wrong entries. 3. Some items have multiple entries with wide range of calories. Grape tomato is one example that ranges from 0 calories to 29 calories. Also it lacks features 1. It assumes each custom meal is a 1 serving, which is not always the case.

I'm torn with this app. I bought premium but it works the same as a free app I was using. I don't like that the measurements change for every food item, it should be the same across the board. I would also like to see my net carbs and total carbs. I guess I was hoping premium would break things down a little more.

Used to be great app but since the last update it doesn't just not allow me to add anything, it also keeps deleting my past progress and all of my meals!!! Due to customer support taking the mick instead of sorting out the problem, I'll have to uninstall the app. Customer support claims in the comments that they'll help but when you email them, they don't do anything except tell you to get lost. I gave the info that they asked for and they didn't do anything about it. They don't fix app problems

I signed up for the premium membership today, which was advertised on 30% sale, meaning I would be paying R34/month (South Africa) as it stated. However, when I put in my payment details, it immediately charged me R523, 81. I have two problems with this. 1. I wasn't aware it would charge me a lump sum, but thought it would go off my account monthly. 2. R523, 81 ÷ 12 = R43,65 (not R34) This is false advertising. I would like a refund and to cancel my premium membership. Please contact me.

I can't wait for my current donation to this diary app ends. There's no web app that you can manage your personal recipes and enter your daily intake and stats. It's difficult to create a meal plan on your phone/tablet alone, and it won't allow to plan for just a week at a time, including shopping lists (only for full plan period, e.g.,, 3-weeks). There's no "partners" plans and no way to share personal recipes with a partner that is on the same plan as you. When I tried to share my recipe with my wife it just sent a link to what I ate (look at me! yay! I ate this!). I expected my wife to be able to import the recipe so she can also track the meal. Instead, my wife has to replicate everything I do, except keep track of her own weight. PITA. The only help this app gives is nagging notifications to track your weight and water intake, show your cals/carbs/etc. remaining for the day, and to take a health test. It will track your exercises, too. When I say all that it would seem this is a really helpful app, and I suppose for what it is many do find it useful, but I need something that does a better job at custom meal planning. Ultimately I bought into a phone app recipe club with more articles on their web page. I do like that it shows micronutrients, but you must pay the premium to get that feature, too. I don't know what I was expecting, but a food diary doesn't help me. I'm just going to move on to something else.

Just downloaded and all the main most important features of it like recipes and diet plans require you to subscribe for premium. I downloaded it because it was advertised as a free app and I already can't afford a nutritionist. What makes you think I can afford to give money to an app I've never even tried out to see if it's worth it or not? Even for only a free trial it's just lame.

Wonderful unintimidating app. I only use the free version so far but I love how it always gives me a positive perspective on everything I've been tracking for the day. I wasn't looking for a strict app to help me diet. More like, this app is helping me make lifestyle changes. Specific diet plans are an option for this app which is cool. The only thing I would suggest is increasing the food and exercise database. Makes tracking a bit of a challenge sometimes.

I feel I have been ripped off! The app doesn't tell me what to do! I bought the premium and wanted to start a plan that include fasting and the app doesn't describe at all what I should do or eat anything useful!! I don't know why should I pay for such an app!

I think this app would be great - however, I cannot justify spending the money for premium when I can't see the full scale of what I'm purchasing. A trial period would be a great way to get subscribers. Until then, I'll be sticking to other, more affordable apps. Options for the free version here are far too limited compared to others available.

This app has been really great for tracking my calories, I've been using it pretty much everyday since I got it in December on the free version (I would upgrade but I simply don't have enough money and it works fine for me). I much prefer it to other food diary apps as it has a much nicer user interface and makes it simple to track meals. Unfortunately my app has recently stopped connecting with Samsung health making it harder to properly track my calories. Any support would be appreciated.

It's great except for when someone enters in the wrong nutritional information for food items. It doesn't allow you to correct it as it will say there is something wrong with the energy count. It's really frustrating! Please fix! Or at least let users fix it. Or everyone could just enter in the correct information 😂

Paid for a full year of premium and have only used if for a month, not worth it at all. I'm currently trying to get some kind of refund. So many food listings have the wrong nutritional information. Shopping lists based on food plans always have duplicates or super specific ingredients that need recipes of their own. Just stick with MyFitnessPal and save yourself some time and money.

What an incredible app!! I have always thought about utilizing something that i can turn to for helping me stay on track with my weight loss progress. I never really knew where to start and luckily there have been many youtubers who live by this and i was convinced to try! Im glad i did! And the Premium is so worth it!! Love the healthy recipe ideas to help change up my usual healthy stuff. And the calorie tracker is ridulously easy to use!

Overall a great app. I really like the reminders of updating the weight and the opportunity to add water and fruit/veg portions. Unfortunately you can't see any of the recipes without paying and only create a few own meals. It's very annoying to always have to add every single ingredient of what you ate again and again..

I have used other apps to try and keep my eating and fitness goals on track and lifesum is BY FAR the best app! The premium version is so worth it! I'm a super busy person and I love how the app breaks it all down for me, gives me options and recipes, and even makes a grocery list of what I'll need for my meals for me. Not to mention how fun the graphics are! Very well done!

It's a really good app for food tracking, especially for starters. The premium option allows for a bit more freedom in customizing your options while also offering more details about your lifestyle reflected in what food you insert. It helped me lose 15 kilos in under a year without a lot of exercise (main reason being the details about my nutrition i didn't think about)

Fantastic! I have been using this app for around 9 to 10 months. I have seen tremendous results! I've lost 18 pounds! This app has helped so much. Easy to use and not intimidating at all. Helpful with tracking weight, calorie intake, giving helpful reminders, and even helping me reach my water goal! This app is so good 💕

So far so good. Ive only been subscribed for like 3 days but its super easy to navigate and all you have to do is scan your foods barcode and it uploads all the nutritional info its actually really cool . Only thing i think would make it super awesome is if it suggested foods to eat that will get you to your goal.

Thank you lifesum for the temporary free trial, as a disabled student it was helpful. A month ago I wanted to start keto and make sure I do it right. This app stuck out as not just your standard calorie tracker. It's beautifully designed and easy UI, it also tracks macros and net carbs unlike many apps. It has great UI/UX to keep you in the know if you're on the right path or not. Where it falls short: meal plans fully dont work if you put any allergy and recipes are bland.

Loved this app for so long, I have a premium account and have for a year or 2 but lately the app has been nothing but trouble. I try changing the weights/amount of food and it doesn't change it or it puts that weight for a different food, sometimes I open the app and it has created a double for every meal/ingredient I have entered for the day and I have to go through delete and re-edit items 😭 I am starting to think I will look into another food tracking app

Constantly asks you to pay extra. It's just a food diary unless you subscribe. I'd rather pay for an app once than keep paying for it every month. It is a very pretty, functional food diary...but that's all. Most of the features they advertise are behind a monthly paywall 🐍

Love everything, you can input variety of foods and it's easy to use

This looks like a really good and promising app. Unfortunately I will never know because in order to make it work you have to pay very steep reoccurring fees to activate almost all of its features. I'm on installing this right now. They don't even give you a demo virgin to look at all of its features.

App does not give you meal plans, it has suggestions for different things but not the actual plan. The recipes are very limited, not much to choose from. Not worth the money what so ever! They also will not refund any money if you don't like it, and continue to charge you for several months afterwards.

I paid money for this and it wont let me access anything other than the diary. I cant see recipes or anything... the whole reason I paid. 😑😑

Really good, most of the nutritional info on products is accurate and there's a report button for those that aren't! A ton of different diets and meal plans to meet your goals. Links up to other fitness apps. I could go on and on, just go see for yourselves!

I love this app, it's been so helpful. I do have the premium account and the recipes, customization, and interface has been bullet proof. Only request would be that you can customize the colors of the main banner, personalize it a little.

The app does not save my food preference. I set it to Vegan but it keeps deselecting itself. Also, buying premium doesn't really give me that many perks. I don't feel like I'm getting quality for being a paid subscriber. It would be nice if this app could do things that MyFitnessPal does. Like moving foods between different meals or being able to change portion or your own created meals.

I can't seem to be able to create an account! I'm at the last step (the one where you put your email address) and when i put it it doesn't do anything, it just leaves me on that page! And if I close the app, it makes me do all the steps again! Can I do anything about that?

Way cool for planning meals, tracking calories and staying on track.

I've just downloaded this app and the recipes for keto diet (which I'm severely struggling with because I loooove pasta etc) and it has items on the recipes I would actually eat 100% thank God I'll keep updating after the 3 weeks oh and try the one month its $5 that's like my morning coffee it's worth a shot

The constant abrasive pushes to get a premium membership completely ruin the experience, to the point where sometimes I can't even interact with the UI cause a premium ad spot keeps scrolling up on the screen blocking the thing I'm trying to read or tap. Tone it down.

So far I've had a great experience tracking my food and fitness. I'm starting slowly because these are changes I wish to make last, so basic diet plan. And the only thing is some times trying to find adequate calorie counts for some foods..but other than that I'm enjoying it.

App has been super helpful so far -- I've lost 19 pounds in about 3 months. I just wish more of the features were available without such an expensive subscription. Tracking sugar and sodium shouldn't be a premium feature.

Loving it so far. I think a good thing to include in the future is meal adjustments for those with allergies. I myself have a severe allergy to nuts, and it'd make things a lot easier if recipes were automatically adjusted to consider this.

This is the only diet software that works for me! Well done!!

I paid around $35 for the membership so that I could get meals plans but the meal plans were very very limited and didn't have a range of meals per diet plan. Overall not happy with it. The free version is almost just as good as the membership

It's an ok ad, I just wish some things were better, like diets to focus on taking in less cholesterol or less carbs, less sugar, etc, as can be recommended by a doctor. Also you tell it you're allergic to something (seafood in my case) so you can't eat it, but then later it tells you your seafood intake is low and you should eat more. What.

Good idea but not very good implication. Advice for the developers: when one select from categories, make it searchable, as one types. Otherwise it takes another life to find a piece food from the category(ies). Removing for now.

Very good app, the only problem they charge you all at once. You have to pay the monthly who is way more expensive if you just wanna try out the app. They should do like Netflix, select your plan and pay for it MONTHLY

It's free, it counts my calories, it tracks my exercise and water intake. It can be as simple or as complex as you like (especially if you pay for special plans). But I prefer it simple, for free and accurate and that is what it gives me.

Love this app, the only feedback though is that when adding the recipes to your tracker, you can't modify the toppings on items like pizza or pancakes, so it would be great if they could be added as just a base incase you change the topping

It is very helpful and helps balance what you eat and the portions. It also tells you the amount of carbs protein and fat to eat including how much water. But this is only without premium. With premium you can get so much more.

It's a very nice app, for sure. The only complaint I have is that some of the interface is a little wonky, such as finding your own created foods/meals but, other than that, it works absolutely great.

Doesn't seem to connect to my fitbit app, which is why I bought premium. Calories burned are not transformed on lifesum from my fitbit versa 2. Can I get a refund if this doesn't get fixed? I mean the only reason I subscribed was to get the connection to fitbit.

Only given 3 stars because I've only been using the app for a few days. Going OK so far. Lots of info and fairly easy to use. Was bombarded with the option to pay for Premium use at first but after declining each time this has been less frequent

"Upgrade to premium!" Anytime I try and use a function like look at a recipe, a pop-up comes up telling me I have to pay to see it. Seems like unless you want to fork out some cash, your left with a pretty useless app

I really like this app! However, I'm kind of sad that thwy got ride of the over all rating. I loved seeing that green smiley when I did good that day, it was a real motivator.

Hello, After going premium my score disappeared... How can I get it back? I mean the scale saying "how to improve your score"...

I have a premium subscription. Bit disappointing that you can't enter more than the mandated 3 meals a day or customise units on the water e.g. fl oz to ml. Based on the limited flexibility, it's unlikely I'll renew.

Well it worked for a month or so then stopped syncing with Samsung Health. None of their fixes work so if you're using a Samsung phone and their Health app DON'T buy this app, it's not worth it...a waste of AUD54.

Pretty good app in checking, sometimes there are some typos in the things you scan and sometimes it doesn't show the exact product which I have scanned. Generally good, I have been using this and there has never been a massive issue.👍

This app is a really good way to count calories, and I ended up losing a fair amount of weight. It kinda sucks that there are a lot of things you need premium to do but over all it still helped me a lot.

This app is useless. Cant input my own food intake, nor calorie and macro nutrition intake. It wants you to search or scan barcodes for food and goes by single serving size suggestions. Everything else you have to pay for. App is redundant and dead ending to navigate. Do not recomend

Latest update made the app laggy and the elasric effect at the end of the scroll list, isn't there anymore... Or it's just my phone. Bug fixes guys. The app itself is amazing!!! Fix it. Cheers.

I did not mean to by a year worth... It said it was going to be roughly 4$ a month but it charged me for a whole year??!! Almost $ can do I get a refund 😠 not okay especially when it's made to look like you pay per month not all at once

Its an alright app, easy to track calories. I just would NOT pay for the premium again. I feel like there is limited diet plans and limited meal options. Premium and regular are basically the same thing, from my experience.

App will get a higher rating once it supports 3 decimal points. I often make meals for 6+ food boxes (sometimes 12) and the app rounds it up from e.g. 0.166 to 0.17 which messes with my daily intake. It's simple math and should be implemented

This app does nothing that you can't do yourself. It doesn't plan out your meals, it doesnt tell you the foods you should buy for each meal. You have to pay and going into it you might think it will simplify your life by telling you exactly what to eat and when depending on your goals but it does not.

Absolute rip off. Barcode scanner is hopeless, adds a different food and calorie amount to the actual. What a waste of money and time this app is. Don't waste your time with this if you are serious about losing weight and getting healthy.

Best app for tracking.. helped me to reduce 13 kg in 6 months...

This app is not free, to get use out of it you need to pay a subscription but you find that out after creating an account and giving all your details, very misleading!

This is the one for me. I like the way the plans transition from easy to harder, and it is keeping me on track. I like that I can select the exact grams in weight for everything.
