Family Locator alerts you when your family members have checked in at a location and thanks to GPS sensors in your phone, family locator can also advise if someone is running late.

Finding Family

The Life360 app uses state-of-the-art GPS location technology to report the real-time whereabouts of those that have accepted your invitation to join your circle and share their location. Simply install the Life360 Family Locator app on your phone, and invite your family. Once registered, each member appears as a unique icon on the navigational map so you’ll know exactly where they are. No need to send annoying “Where are your?” or “What’s your ETA?” texts, the Life360 Family Locator puts this information at your fingertips. And to make life super easy, we send you alerts the moment your family arrives at an appointed location!

In order for our app to work properly, we need a few permissions. Don't worry - when you create an account, we help you through this quick and easy process.

Location - Life360 locates you and your loved ones on a shared, private map. This setting allows us to show location accurately and quickly.

Phone permission - Life360 has a feature called Driver Care Support that, with a single push of a button, connects you to a live representative over the phone. Our live representative knows who you are and where you are to assist in roadside situations such as tows, jumps, and lockouts. We also offer an immediate emergency response in the case of a vehicular collision. Phone permissions allow us to connect your phone to the live representative and authenticate that you are the one calling them.

Network - This connects you to the Internet and allows us to send and receive location information to and from family members on your private map.

Reviews From google play store

Awesome idea but only gets 3 stars from me. I only use the free version but that's because paying for the subscription isn't worth it to me with how the app is currently. They could really use an additional setting, or "filter" if you will, in the "location sharing" settings for being able to select a window of time that you want the location sharing to be on. Example: Monday-Friday 9:30am-5:00pm. Add something like that and I would definitely pay for the subscription and give it 5 stars.

We've been using this app for over a year and have loved it until recently. Since the beginning of the this year we've had several issues with people in the circle being 'moved' to different places. Notifications go off regularly for people coming and going when they haven't moved at all. It doesn't track people correctly anymore. I've had near panic attacks due to misinformation. It used to be very reliable and useful... Now it's more of a headache. Disappointing considering we pay for this app

It used to work great when I first installed it. Now GPS is always offline when it isn't. How can you depend on this to track a family member? updated post: Well they fixed it temporarily after my post. However, a few days later and we're back to the same problem - asking you to send text msg to other person to turn on location permission when it's already on.

This app has issues updating location in the past and now nothing works. I've "allowed" and have consented certain tabs to make it run smoothly but to no avail. I feel my account has been hacked and it makes me wonder how vulnerable we're making our phones open to hackers. I uninstalled it. From the recent reviews, I see I'm not the only one. Their solution to your reviews is a link to their "support" page because it possibly "can't be their app."

No issues at the moment. Had this app over year. It's important that the location is on at all times to update. Also there are areas that may not work with your particular provider when it comes to signal strength. This may explain some delays in updates. Nothing to do with the app itself so I can't say the app has any faults. I like that I can see my child's battery level and where he has been. I know he is home from school while I'm at work. Love this app!! It does what it is designed to do.

I used to love this app, but it has become wildly inaccurate. Recently it said my son walked 6 miles going faster than a car could go. It repeatedly says he has left school to go to various places and then come back to school, but the travel times are impossible. Since it kept sending me notifications that he had left school, I checked with his school. They have said he was in class the whole time. I've followed all their instructions to improve accuracy.

Overall a very good app especially if you have kids you're staying in contact with. Even has a text message feature built into the app. I've had the opportunity to discuss with one of my kids why they were doing 33 mph over the posted speed limit thanks to the speed indicator portion of app. What I don't like is occasionally it will give false locations of where someone is (my high school kid at a location 12-15 minutes away when I know he's in school). Overall we're glad we got it.

I had this app. a few year ago and it was pretty accurate. The travel locations show exactly what street you were on and tagged all stops and times. Now I have the premium ed. and the driving path is way off. Also the stop location can be at a different location. It shuts down and doesn't locate or record part of the time. As far as a exact locator and records, it has gotten terrible and I probably will try to find a better locator.

Android user here (Pixel). Why does the media volume control the sound for messaging? I turned off all notification sound in the app. But if I'm listening to music and turn the volume up, then the sound when sending messages through the app goes up as well. It can be really loud when my earphones are in and really inconvenient if listening to music through a Bluetooth speaker. Other than that. Great app!

Not impressed. Tracks fairly accurately but I lowered the resolution of my display and the Life360 app displays an error that I'm in power saving mode when I start it. It should know the difference. Could use a feature to appear offline for specific circles, right now it's all or nothing. Would be nice if it integrated with a better map app that shows more map details. Can't find any explaination of what I get for the subscription. I shouldn't have to contact support to get this information.

requires following permissions on your android device.

approximate location (network-based)
Allows the app to get your approximate location. This location is derived by location services using network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine approximately where you are.

precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine where you are, and may consume additional battery power.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

view Wi-Fi connections
Allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.

pair with Bluetooth devices
Allows the app to view the configuration of the Bluetooth on the phone, and to make and accept connections with paired devices.

access Bluetooth settings
Allows the app to configure the local Bluetooth phone, and to discover and pair with remote devices.

take pictures and videos
Allows the app to take pictures and videos with the camera. This permission allows the app to use the camera at any time without your confirmation.

connect and disconnect from Wi-Fi
Allows the app to connect to and disconnect from Wi-Fi access points and to make changes to device configuration for Wi-Fi networks.

download files without notification
Allows the app to download files through the download manager without any notification being shown to the user.

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

control Near Field Communication
Allows the app to communicate with Near Field Communication (NFC) tags, cards, and readers.

read the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to read the contents of your SD card.

read phone state
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

control vibration
Allows the app to control the vibrator.

prevent phone from sleeping
Allows the app to prevent the phone from going to sleep.

modify or delete the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to write to the SD card.

In-App billing

Allows apps to accept cloud to device messages sent by the app's service. Using this service will incur data usage. Malicious apps could cause excess data usage.

activity recognition
Allows an app to receive periodic updates of your activity level from Google, for example, if you are walking, driving, cycling, or stationary.
