My 1 star is here, so sad, I also started having issues, and even though support contacted me and said they would fix it, they lied, over two years now! Now the definitions' window roll up as sooin as I reach the bottom/middle of the definitions window, and it's impossible to read part of the definitions. Can you imagine how low the standard of this company got? It used to be the hallmark among publishers. It's a shame!

I have been using this app for few years and it has been a brilliant experience. However, I recently changed phone, forced to update it and with great disappointment I found out the pronunciation buttons are not clickable anymore 😫 I found them so useful for a non native English speaker.

There is something clearly wrong with the installation package. I am using a Sony Xperia XZ with Android 8.0.0. The app kept claiming to extract media files, but nothing was happening even after a long time (like 15 minutes?), so I had to close the app. Restarting the app did not help. The thing that fixed it was to go to Settings > Apps & notifications > App info and select LDOCE 6, FORCE STOP the app, then click on Storage and CLEAR DATA and CLEAR CACHE. After that, I clicked on Permissions and enabled Location and Storage (which were the only two shown). Then I restarted the app and this time, the extraction of media files was fast and you can actually see a percentage count-up, so you know it is doing something. After extraction, the app does some indexing which again takes a little while and then the app works fine. In terms of the user interface, the app is neat and I wished there was an option to save some notes for words I add to the bookmark. It is my opinion that this is the best English dictionary there is currently on the Play store. Thankfully, the definitions of words have not taken a politically left slant (at least overtly, and at the time of downloading) unlike some other dictionaries. So, it is well worth the price.

It was the best dictionary. I have been using it since 2017 BUT now I'm disappointed from the pronunciation. It does not work. I contacted their support team in January 2021 and until now they didn't fix the problem. They claimed that they are working on it but I doubt it. In 8 months I can develop a new app not fixing a small problem like that

Great app. And for those who rated it 1 or 2 stars... Have some patience! The app takes about 5 minutes to extract all photos and audio files. Not that much to start using one of the best dictionaries on the market. Thank you, Longman!

Hi. Application was so good until I change my phone. After change my phone, I couldn't install app because keep waiting. Then I solve the problem . Go to settings in your phone. Settings/appsl/Manage Apps/ find this app and chose give permission to permissions and other permissions. Then start your app. It will solve your install problem. But now sound doesn't work.i bought this app for pronounce words but now it doesn't work. Even it has some problems developer team doesn't give any info

This app Keeps stopping extracting media files when it's first started so I cannot even use until now. I had to re-download it again and again, but it's no use. You guys should fix this huge problem right away or refund.

The sound doesn't work anymore after the update. I bought this dictionary for its recordings. Please fix this issue as soon as possible.
