Switched to this excellent app a few days ago from TweetCaster which suddenly stopped working, a definite step-up! One handy feature that TweetCaster had was the option to mute accounts or hashtags for a set amount of time (1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, forever etc) if this could be added I'd give this 6 stars :)

  2. Brian Vaughan-avatar

It's pretty solid. I moved to this app after Twidere became unsupported. The display customization options are good. I have a few minor frustrations, particularly that it's not clear when there's a thread of tweets and it's not always easy to follow the thread.

  3. C Brown-avatar

I like the absence of ads and there are some nice features that are not available in the twitter app. The notifications don't work very well though, which brought the rating down.

Needed a Twitter app with Widgets for my timeline on my homescreen to replace APW (Android Pro Widgets) that stopped functioning. I happily found Talon! It has the widgets I wanted so I can have my timeline on my homescreen & it's a pretty great Twitter app besides just having the widget functionality I came looking for! Definitely worth the small price tag!

I liked this app so much but it seemed complicated and limited on many things first I dont see all the people's tweets that I followed it reapeat 2 or 4 users also it didnt show the newest tweets second I find it hard to search it always said it's wrong or just give me the same words I wrote as mention or hashtag third when I am at my account I cant refresh manually also cant to refresh user's page to see new tweets and cant see all useres that I followed I have to choose only one.

  6. Julie Ankrom-avatar

Looks good, I may stay with this one! Please, can we get a "are you sure you want to exit?" prompt for those of us who reflexively hit the back button too many times? That would be great.

  7. Dennis Heffernan-avatar

    Dennis Heffernan

Very good Twitter client, switched to it when Tweetcaster stopped working. Only nit is it will sometimes skip a time period when filling in a long gap, but that may be a Twitter platform thing.

  8. Justin Serpico-avatar

Good app. I like some of the features over the native Twitter app, but you almost need both if you are a serious Twitter user. For instance, this doesn't go back more than 200 Tweets, so you can't catch up on a topic once you fall behind. There are other quirks that are Twitter api issues. All that being said, I do recommend the app, you just have to be aware there are limitations and that there are also features you get that Twitter doesn't give you. You win, you lose. Overall a win.

  9. A. Armstrong-avatar

I've had this app for years and loved it, but viewing any kind of media on it is a true test of patience anymore. You can literally wait minutes for a single photo to load and it still won't, regardless of your network speed. Download a pic and it won't even open the photo when you click on the notification when it's done. WAY too much effort and time wasted to do such a basic thing. I don't want to switch apps, but this is not even functional for me at the moment.

  10. Anthony Lee-avatar

App works well and is stable. UI looks nice. Would give 5 if you could improve search results. Sometimes even typing in the @name twitter handle doesn't bring up the right person on the People/User tab. I generally have to resort to either scrolling through the tweet tab until I see the correct person mentioned or login to the mobile site and search and follow people there.

  11. Raven-avatar

Absolutely great design & works flawlessly. Would honestly recommend to any friend asking for a twitter client.

  12. Duncan Lee-avatar

Initially liked the ability to swipe through my lists. But it is getting annoying with slow load times of threads. Sometimes photos don't load. Sometimes tweets don't load or takes ages. Not related to network. DMs were empty too. I mailed the dev about the slow load times but they mentioned it wasn't a known issue but reading other reviews it looks like it is common for others too. It's a shame because I paid for this. Will look for another app now.

  13. Jason Ochoa-avatar

My endless search for the ultimate 3rd party Twitter app for Android seems to be over. Will check in after a few weeks of use. I paid for the pro version and can already tell money well spent. I am very pleased with the layout, options, customization, widget. Winner so far.

  14. Giulietta AliceNine-avatar

    Giulietta AliceNine

So, I love this app, it looks beautiful, but when I go to save a picture it just won't save. It's not giving an error or anything, it just.. Doesn't do anything at all. How can I fix this? Because I love using this app.

  15. Wayne Wallace-avatar

Stay well clear. 2 days after purchase stopped syncing and does less than the Twitter app itself. Google is a nightmare to navigate for a refund so scammed yet again. SCAM

  16. Tony Ortiz-avatar

So far so good. Having issues adding second Twitter account.

  17. J France-avatar

Best third party app to date. Have finally replaced the official Twitter client after trying a lot of different options. Only gripe is the pull-down to close instead of refresh is not really helpful given its near-universal application elsewhere.

  18. Flakron Shkodra-avatar

    Flakron Shkodra

Good overall. Nice bugfixing. One of the best out there

  19. James Tombs-avatar

Best twitter app I've used for ages. Plenty of customisation to get it just right.

  20. Zoë Vooght-avatar

Used to love this app and have the full version but now it won't open, turns my whole screen black and 'flashy' and I have to restart my phone to be able to us it again. Utter rubbish and waste of money

  21. cpt Farzkizz-avatar

Good Twitter reader, bit slow on updates /feeds though.

  22. Rick Mcknight-avatar

Very nice looking UI. Lighter weight than official Twitter app.

  23. Carlos A Loya-avatar

Looks great, does great, dunno the native client, get this one instead!

  24. Sydney Myers-avatar

Photos don't always load in the timeline and media is slow to load when selected. Other than that, it's good.

  25. Justin Hall-avatar

I have been using Talon for years. The best third-party Twitter client in my opinion. Even better than the official app. No ads ever!

  26. Edward Mergenhagen-avatar

    Edward Mergenhagen

Cannot go more than 10 minutes back to see tweets in the trending column. Cannot find suggestions for someone's handle when I @ them. Cannot go back more than 24 hours in someones tweet history.

  27. yasin rahmani-avatar

Nice and good please add security section and proxy section

  28. Nicolas T.-avatar

Looks good but I can't find a way to display my two accounts timelines into a single stream, and I really want that!

  29. Aaron Lee-avatar

Was good but now freezes each time it is opened after the 9 Dec update

  30. Marcus Zarra-avatar

Has been doing everything I need. Very solid replacement for the app I used on iOS.

  31. Dudi Yalov-avatar

It will be five stars if I had an option to disable a retweets on pages or in lists.

  32. Vop TheGreat-avatar

    Lasted update freeze all time

  33. Kathrin Thalhammer-avatar

    Kathrin Thalhammer

I love the simple design and how easy it all is. No ads, no annoying recommendations, just a streamlined Twitter experience. However, there are cons. - the TL won't load more than 200 tweets at a time, which means I don't see tweets written during busy times. - favs and RTs can have a significant lag and sometimes don't work on the first try. - notifications are spotty at best. The occasional fav and RT will show up, but it's a fraction of the total. Mentions work, but with a significant lag. - long reply threads are cut off without a hint that there might be more. - quote-RTed threads don't load and have to be opened in the browser I'm still using Talon, though - it's the best of a sorry lot.

  34. Neil Blanchard-avatar

I have made it look more like "native" Twitter, with the actions shown. I still can't make the Like heart red, so I can't tell if worked. Is there a 195 tweet limit?

  35. shawn tane-avatar

I can't do direct messages, about an hour after I send it exact same message comes back to me like someone sent to me. Still can't play media most of the time-video doesn't play at all & some pics won't appear. I can get notifications when on wifi (at home) but the phone network (4G/3G) does nothing automatically.

  36. Erica Bee-avatar

First installed this app on my Pixel XL. It opened fine, but then would close or crash if I chose something else in the menu. Now that this app is on my OnePlus 7, all the app does is flicker. I wanted to make this work, but if the app doesn't, then why bother?

  37. Rich Kendall-avatar

Unable to follow or unfollow people anymore even after a full delete and install. Some direct messages wont delete on talon app but will on Twitter mobile. Still the best twitter app out their but needs a bit of work. Looking at other reviews and others are having the same issue

  38. Ytel V-avatar

I've been using this app for a couple of weeks. *CONS: Tweet search is limited and basically useless. Sometimes the button to add a new tweet just disappears and the app needs to be reopened. *PROS: Customisation of pages, colours and widget. The download of pics, gifs & vids. NO: ADS, OTHER USER'S LIKES, RTS OR FOLLOWS. ****No polls & no grupo chat bc TW doesn't allow it. If you can live w/o them then you'll be fine.

  39. Paul Teale-avatar

Never received an SMS code at login stage so had to refund

  40. Asif Patel-avatar

Media does not rotate when you access a tweet using the widget. The widget is the best part about this app but this little flaw hurts usability.

  41. D Reynolds.-avatar

Bugs on scheduled tweets. I've attempted to schedule a number of tweets, none of them have sent and I've noticed in the aftermath there's a pop-up screen on my phone at the scheduled tweet time saying [Talon app has stopped working. Close app.]

  42. Lee Parker-avatar

Talon has a fundamental problem counting characters in a reply. It counts people in the conversation as characters and refuses to post the tweet. Much as I like the interface, this makes it unusable. Asking for a refund.

  43. Shivum Kumar-avatar

Getting an error saying Rate Limit Reached

  44. Bryan Chung-avatar

Only wish to have poll and stuff but I know it's because of Twitter! 👍

  45. Darshan Dedhiya-avatar

    Darshan Dedhiya

One of best Twitter clients and suits my needs

  46. Collin Berry-avatar

I very much like the app, but I wish there were more accent color options--the present ones seem to be arbitrary.

  47. Dusan Lilic-avatar

Very bad at displaying threads. Doesn't show any labels that a tweet is in response to a tweet from the same user. Otherwise it's okay.

  48. Brandon DePalo-avatar

Doesn't support some things like polls (not the devs fault). Comments seem to be bugged and only load like 2 or 3. Autocomplete on tagging is abysmal.

  49. Mark Dwyer-avatar

It's constantly crashing (stopping) and it won't load content most of the time. I'm going to look for something better.

  50. Griffin Hotchkiss-avatar

    Griffin Hotchkiss

Very buggy; offers little in the way of confirmation or notification when tweets are not sent, fails frequently.

  51. David Muñoz-avatar

When I try to follow another account it says some gibberish about my request being understood but not doing it. I'm so upset I regret buying it. I thought that if it had a price tag it would be better than the free ones.

  52. Gregory Long-avatar

My favorite Twitter app, pop-up is not working on Android 10 though, will force close

  53. BigLegend D-avatar

    Good but needs some work

  54. Ransom Rockwood-avatar

    Ransom Rockwood

Best Twitter app on the play store. I download it again every time I change devices.

  55. John Koch-avatar

No issues on Android 10. Great dev support and great app!

  56. Jonathan Bain-avatar

Awesome Twitter client. Comparable to tweetbot on iOS

  57. Martin Leigh-avatar

Downloading images and videos just doesn't work

  58. F S-avatar

I wish it does not go back when i scroll down all the way in a profile

  59. Martin P-avatar

Not a fan. I like to try all sorts of apps for Twitter but this one just didn't feel natural in any way to me. I get it is customisable but it just felt wrong no matter which option I picked. Also think there should be a trial version for evaluating as I've just spent £3 to do exactly that.

  60. Gracie-avatar

Honestly it works exactly as it is supposed to but I can't stand the layout and find it incredibly confusing to use. Likes don't actually show up as being liked and retweets don't show either, so I ended up liking and unliking the same things over and over because I couldn't actually see if I had interacted with it yet. Also because theres no actual seperation between posts so the timeline feels like one confusingly long reply chain.

  61. Groove FreQ-avatar

Good app, but no blue checkmark on verified accounts. Renders it unusable for me, especially for an app I paid for that doesn't have a basic feature all other free alternatives have. Shame.. would be perfect otherwise. UPDATE: Still, no verified account support. Very basic feature. 1 star because no stars isn't an option. Furious I wasted my money.

  62. S Mk-avatar

    Search function is really bad

  63. Vikki T-avatar

Downloaded when I first moved to android from Apple and I used Tweetlogix. Seemed great at first but after using for almost a year, little niggly things are starting to become a problem. I find most of the time, images/gifs/videos don't load. To view I either have to click in and out of the tweet a few times or give up and go and find the tweet, if i really am that interested on the official Twitter app. Possibly this one is a Twitter lockdown thing but polls are not viewable.

  64. Terry B-avatar

I quite like Talon but I have noticed when I post a tweet it cuts off the first word. 😳

  65. Brandon Tomlinson-avatar

    Brandon Tomlinson

Talon is how I consume Twitter. It makes the platform tameable for me.

  66. Daniel Hernandez-avatar

    Daniel Hernandez

The best twitter client app on the playstore :)

  67. Sgt M-avatar

A splendid way to browse twitter without all the guff. You can easily hide any type of content you don't want to see and this app has single-handedly made twitter useable for me again. Took off one star due to some bugs, such as the app having trouble with certain gestures like tapping to switch accounts. The app also crashes if I tab out to another app while trying to add an account with a 2FA. I also occasionally get duplicate push notifs. Other than that, I love using Talon so far.

  68. Rolando Castaños-avatar

    Rolando Castaños

Best twitter client and still maintained

  69. Metali Tekiz-avatar

Has many major defects and does not have some basic functions: Usually it does not download twits and pictures in advance which force me constantly re-align. Slow loading of twits. Does not allow editing lists. Resets view while zooming in pictures. May not properly quote sub twits. Viewable reply count is very limited. Does not sort replies. Does not support vote enabled twits. Integrated viewer cannot render web pages properly. The only favorable thing about this app is manual refresh option..

  70. Paul Heffernan-avatar

Love this app instead of Twitter App

  71. osei A-avatar

Great app - however it's just a little annoying at times. Would really appreciate to be able to dismiss the 'swipe up to dismiss' at the end of lists. Someone's swiping fast dismisses the current page I'm on. Also tapping on the timestamp to access reply, retweet etc is very awkward and fiddly. Ideas?

  72. Nick A-avatar

Talon is a brilliant Twitter client which I've been using for years but the inability to send DMs (which I believe is down to twitter permissions for 3rd party apps) has meant a switch to the official app. I also found playing vids could be slow if I hadn't cleared the app cache recently. Very sorry to have to leave Talon though.

  73. karthik balachandran-avatar

    karthik balachandran

Best mobile Twitter client out there

  74. Mikias Abebe-avatar

    Sleek and intuitive 👍🏿

  75. Marcellus Walden-avatar

    Marcellus Walden

The app streamlines the Twitter experience with a material design. Shows the user with a larger text too, so it looks like its focused on "who", and not just the Tweet. It is also customizable, so you can change the look of the app. The only thing that threw me off was the fact that you have to have the Twitter app in your phone for Talon to "intercept" the notifications, so don't get this if you just wanted to replace Twitter, since apparently you will need it.

  76. Alexander Lozada-avatar

    Alexander Lozada

Very pretty, but terrible TERRIBLE UX design. I find myself opening twitter in a mobile browser just because this app is so confusing and unintuitive. For example, swiping down in most apps refreshes. In this one, it either closes the application entirely or refreshes depending on the context. I understand this was meant to be a feature (and will probably be met with some snarky comment based on the developer's previous responses) but it just doesn't work well. For whatever reason, tweet replies are chronological instead of by most popular. I'm sure I could change this somewhere, but no sorting or filter is immediately visible on that screen and I assume I'd need to dive into settings. You'll often find yourself struggling to make it back to the main menu in this app. I've found the only way sometimes is to force quit and reopen. Note that my complaints are non exhaustive and shouldn't be considered the only things I find difficult. I would recommend investing in user testing to fix these issues.

  77. Alexander Rinn-avatar

far more customizable than the competition, it matches the speed and stability of some apps, the great design sense of others, and customizable features of the third group. Any other app besides this, you're looking to pick two of those options at best. The only complaint I have, is retweets aren't quite obvious enough what they are.

  78. Timothy Fields-avatar

Great app, Luke. It is in my opinion, orders of magnitude better than any other app that serves as a Twitter replacement. Thank you for your efforts in developing and supporting this app. Luke also has another great app called PULSE. With PULSE no matter what your choice ( APPLE iOS, Windows, Linux, or Android) you can be in constant uninterrupted contact whenever and wherever you choose.

  79. Jeremy Rowland-avatar

My favorite Twitter client. Talon has a lovely dark theme, compact view timeline, and in-line images & video, all of which are must-haves for me. The background fetch is great because I read infrequently but when I do I want a full timeline to review. I wish it could fetch tweets even further back, but I can work with its limitations (many of which are imposed by the Twitter API.)

  80. Griffon Dahrk-avatar

Won't let me upload video tweets. Can't click on a person's profile picture to see who likes a tweet. Issues formatting the on screen keyboard when tweeting a pic if I go from landscape to portrait. Late notifications. You only get them when the app is open. I really tried to give the app a chance. It's been about 2 years.

  81. Peter Saulnier-avatar

Great all around, probably the best Twitter client for Android. Nice customization options available while also being lightweight. Not able to see polls, but I'm pretty sure that's the fault of Twitter restricting their API. IAP are only there to support the developer further if you choose! Don't let that scare you away like it did for me initially.

  82. James Davis-avatar

I received a lot of direct messages, but wasn't notified because I didn't refresh manually. Frustrating that refresh is manual by default. This is probably a result of the Twitter API limitations, but Talon is just not as responsive as I would like. Although it shows promise, the user experience is lacking a bit. Talon is fine otherwise. The customization is a nice touch. However, I hate to say it, but I think I'll have to return to the official Twitter app.

  83. Santiago Hurtado-avatar

    Santiago Hurtado

So I love this app, been using it for a while. My only two complaints are: 1. Why do I have to go into another screen to look at the replies, I would love to see all the replies in a tweet directly and not have to click in Show All button to go into yet another screen. 2. I don't know if it's unavailable or I just couldn't find it but, the amount of hearts, replies etc in a tweet don't show in the main timeline, would be nice to be able see that and not have to go inside the tweet to check its stats. Other than that this is a solid app and the article mode is brutal, just looks really good and makes it amazing to read. Love this app!

  84. Nick Corduan-avatar

It is attractive and easy to use. Swipable pages are very useful. It manages multiple accounts fairly well. It doesnt handle threads very well, though, especially if you want to interact with a post in the middle of the thread. Notifications for direct messages on a swipable page haven't worked well for quite a well. All in all its fair, but not reliable enough.

  85. Roman-avatar

Used to be good. Now too many issues have started to appear - the app often can't load images (such as the images posted in tweets by other people) until I reload it, it sometimes cannot load replies to someone's tweets (replies which I can see in browser) and yesterday it did not post my reply to someone else's tweet after I clicked "send" button (to a person who follows me so it's not an issue with any Mute/Block settings). I don't know if it's a Twitter's own fault but I will be returning to official app, at least it is consistent when showing all images or replying to people...

  86. Daniel Marcos-avatar

Solid twitter client with some issues. For example: images load too slowly while scrolling. Often have to wait a second or two per image. The official Twitter app does not have this problem. I'd also like to be able to have the like button always visible. Long tapping to bring up the toolbar and then liking takes too long.

  87. A Google user-avatar

The app is simple and clean. Simple enough to help me not be addicted to Twitter (I keep going into the moment section on official). I have two problems with it: Multiple image thumbnails need improvement. I also get errors when I'm trying to tweet with an attached image. It will post after a couple of tries. Other than that, if you need a simple Twitter app, this be it.

  88. Greg Petrovic-avatar

Great client that has some hiccups here and there. Threads don't always display correctly, and will sometimes show just the first message and its replies, or if an RT of a later one, just the thread up to the RT and nothing past it. Also, trying to RT/interact with a later message in a thread can be annoying, since you have to tap it to get the interaction controls, which causes the app to reload the whole thread and places you back at the top. Then you have to scroll all the way back down.

So this is a bit of a mixed review. The app doesn't let me update my timeline as fast as I'd like, and the widget has a bit of an issue. Also if I try and scroll through too many photos then it just stops updating things... So why 5 stars? Because it is the best 3rd party app for twitter that I've used! Basically, if you compare it to the official app, it's not great, but compared to other 3rd party apps its awesome! The real issue it seems is the twitter api *shakes fist*

Honestly a 3rd party twitter app isn't something i would have bought until i noticed pulse is yours as well. This app is no different . Clean, reliable, and thats what makes it worth paying for . I think that gets missed by most people. Think about anything we use even close to as much as we use certain apps on our phones. Great job . Keep em coming.

I'm very pleased with this app. I especially enjoy having multiple feeds. It has plenty of UI customizations. My complaints, however, are all list related. 1) sometimes when I go to add someone to a list from thier profile, my list options never load. 2) all list management features can not be accessed in one location. 3) There is no way to view which profiles are not in a list. 4) When viewing a profile, it's not obvious to which of your lists they belong, if any.

I like this a lot but and it's a BIG BUT I don't like how when you start typing in the name of someone that you follow there is no auto fill and sometimes I can't recall the proper name so this is handy, instead I have to go into my follow list and find the name manually, this is the only reason why this app only gets 4 stars from me and not the full 5.

Bought this app about a month back. It suddenly stopped tody. After trying few times, I Uninstallet and reinstalled it. Now, not able to log in. I am getting 'Something went wrong. Try again.' message.

Had to update my original 5 star review after several weeks of use. I read, like, retweet dozens of tweets each day - why hide those options? Even with my tablet, I find myself searching for the tiny place to click. So while I find the list function to be the best, I waste hundreds of keystrokes in daily use. Not something I can get used to, and the author specifically refuses to add the option to make these options always visible. Back to org Twitter app for me.

I absolutely love this Twitter app. I was using Fenix 2 Preview before and it stopped syncing my Tweets so I decided to look into a paid option. I heard great things about Talon and the reviews were glowing! Anyway, I would give this 4.8/5 if I could because I wish I could double-tap to like tweets. I'm starting to get used to holding a tweet down for the quick actions though. Overall it was worth my $4. If you're worried about spending money on an app then just remember how quickly fast food or a coffee a day adds up. Well worth it, and the developer made it look so beautiful too!!

The perfect twitter client! I rate it 4/5 🌟, I like that it shows the tweets in a chronological order, and gives you the option to choose your theme and customize it to your liking. One thing that I dislike though, is having to view the full tweet to favour it, retweet, or comment.

Awesome app for Twitter. If you want it from a Twitter app, this has it. Easy, intuitive interface, customization is excellent for color scheme - if your device has an AMOLED screen, great to black it out and save your eyes. As much as developers want your screen to be a sheet of paper, it's more like a flash light - fix it with this app.

The app is great overall. I only wish it was easier and quicker to send tweets via dm. As far as I know, you have to copy the tweets link and then go to your dm page and go into the dm you choose to then paste the link there. The regular Twitter app lets you do it all from a menu while still on your timeline. Literally other than that, I have no problems with it. Even then, its not really a problem just something I noticed that could be a tad faster of a process.

This app really makes Twitter quite annoying. Since Twitter is such a fast-moving platform, notification design is important. Talon fails here spectacularly. If you click the notification for a specific tweet, the tweet it was made in response to, or any media associated with it, will not load. Additionally, the notification will put you in a window from which you can only exit to your home screen, not to the app's home page. Very frustrating.

I do like the no ads and being able to see the tweets first. The UI just needs a lot of work and make actions a lot smoother. Too many gestures just to get simple actions done like retweet.
