Excellent Password manager, totally free, no adverts and it looks and feels really nice. It's open source which is good, and uses an encrypted database that can be easily saved to any cloud-based storage of your choosing, so you are always in control of it. After searching for ages for an app like this I've finally found it! I'm so impressed that I've bought the developer a beer!

  2. Brian-avatar

I've been using some iteration of KeePass for at least a decade. I first started using it on Linux but it's open source, so you can generally find an app to work with your KeePass database files on just about any platform. It also works with Dropbox. This particular app has had a few bumps but those seem to have been smoothed out. Special thanks to the Dev for all the hard work and dedication. 🙂

Great App for opening and managing your password safes on your phone. I do have an issue with the integrated keyboard thought: I have turned on automaticly switch to built in keyboard. I didn't set that up yet thought and now I can't open my, Keepass because it just sends me to the setup screen (for which I need a PC).

Excellent companion to the windows desktop version. I'd be lost without a password manager.

  5. TONY BELAS-avatar

An extremely capable app, easy to use and it's free, but you should make a donation. I actually think it's better and more secure than enpass.

Update: After a couple of emails Admin resolved my issue and I was able to access all my information. I applaud his dedication and patience with me. B:I have been using this app for many years now and it has been wonderful and very easy to use. Unfortunately, within the last week the app has not opened for me and no longer accepts my password. Hopefully this review comes to the developers' attention and an upgrade to fix the problem becomes available soon. Thank you so much for the great work.

  18. Lucian-avatar

Extremely confusing app. I never know where my database is stored (it has 3 different options - internal, external and cache) and the paths make no sense for someone who's not an android dev. Also the option to import to internal storage is always available for the same file.

I really enjoy this app and I feel it is a fantastic tool to store valuable information safely and securely. However, I recently switched my phone from a Samsung S8 to a Samsung S20. I use a password only system in Keepass2Android. Now the password is not working. All other passwords that I use on my phone transferred. Is there something I can do

  20. Glenn-avatar

Was fine and easy to use to save passwords. Not sure if updated, but now has a permissions issue (it isn't denied any) that will not allow it to open database. I cannot access passwords (which is the only point) and after a few days of waiting to see if an update pushed I guess I have the pain of resetting all my passwords and trying another app for managing these. TLDR: Was wanting to reduce hassle and have literally given myself a load by using app.

  21. Simon Ghoul-avatar

    Simon Ghoul

It has been taking too long to load lately, not even opening a database, just opening the app. 3 minutes more or less. Also, development feels pretty early in progress because autofill is not perfect yet. We are just not there, the one for lastpass is also not perfect. It doesn't work at all in the samsung browser, I have to use the keyboard from this app which is not bad but it adds a few extra steps. I can't recommend password managers to the average joe yet, but well, it is a great app.

  22. Jim Hardwick-avatar

    Jim Hardwick

Fantastic app, but the latest update messes up using fingerprint and a yubikey together to unlock the database. The app now waits for a fingerprint as soon as it's opened, which causes the app to crash. The yubikey must be tapped first so canceling the fingerprint pop-up (then tapping the fingerprint icon) adds a few annoying steps that really interrupt what used to be a quick, painless interface.

  23. Wayne Hendry-avatar

    Wayne Hendry

Brilliant app. Works great. Tip for anyone that can't open database is to start with the encrypted file if you have one already. Tap that so it opens the app otherwise its too easy to create new data base with nothing in or loose the file path connection. For me it's Dropbox then tap the keepass file if things get muddled. Only happened twice in several years and my fault with big fingers, but can fix in seconds the file directory link with app this way. Great work. Must install app for me..

  24. Even de Boysson-avatar

    Even de Boysson

The app is awesome, works perfectly with keepass's database, correctly configured you can even use it for totp password, and with cloud or a synchronization tool, never lose your "Google auth" anymore. That aside, the last update (or maybe it is the switch to this last android version) I can no longer open this database, despite granting access to the storage, it error out with a read only access ( * is an actual path ): System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '*' is denied

  25. 0kronus0-avatar

Since the update I can't open my database through ftp anymore. It just access the local backup. Errormessage is: error cannot connect to file provider service. Connection refused Another issue is that If i export my database it creates a file named (invalid) without kdbx extension. Looks strange but i can open it with keepass

  26. Adithya Sekar-avatar

This is the best password manager for Android that's greatly compatible with KeePass application in windows. Easy to export and sync with the databases offline. Been using this for 2 years and haven't seen any major issues. Greatly appreciate the developers work and this is a recommended one.

It'd been working fine until the last update. Now one out of five times the finger print authentication will stop working and I'll have to reboot the phone as the login screen won't disappear.

  28. ワシーム-avatar

was great, amazing and it worked. Now with the new update it popups with a fingerprint box and if dismissed you cant use the fingerprint to login and have to quit the app or type the password same with quick unlock but no fingerprint option works as the popup does not show up everything worked before and now its gone downhill unhappy with the app. the whole app is ruined by forcing the popup fingerprint unlock unlike the old silent version.

  29. Rob Cosco-avatar

Works great in general, but lately it's forgetting my fingerprint unlock setting every time I open it, so I end up having to type in the master password every time. This app is very handy in every other way though.

i really like the sync feature although(minor problem it could be my fault) i open the same file in linux keepassxc from gdrive and modify after that i have to select the file again from gdrive because it can't find it(same file name) and the password generator should be at the home page

  31. Mark Ash-avatar

This is a great app. Love the ability to either use your own cloud or NO cloud. I think using an app's cloud for this type of app is security suicide. Thank you for the compatibility with KeePass as I use their Linux and windows client, and for a great app in general.

Copy to clipboard doesn't work if you're copying pasting and you have multiple entries. Worked only the first time. No matter whether you close the app, lock database.. Won't work... I used both clipboards and also the embedded keyboard

Lately I haven't been able to open my database. Works fine on my laptop, so I know it's this app. Aside from that, handling credentials that work on both an app and website is very cumbersome, or credentials that work on multiple sites (like stack exchange). That said, where usability sucks, it seems to be very strong in terms of security options

I have been using this app since 2017. Lately, when I open the app, all I see is a white screen. Then my phone freezes. The capacitative buttons also stop working. I have to force the phone to reboot so that I can normally use the phone again. Is this some bug? I really hope this issue goes away soon because this app is very convenient. It is the only password manager I've used this long.

  35. Tony Robinson-avatar

Dev left a silly Beer donation advert in the app which blocked access to the inputstick plugin tools in Lolipop. Asked Dev to fix but he didnt want to and said I should open the app 40 odd times for the stupid nag screen to go away. Therefor it doesnt matter if a user donates $5 or $50 the advert cant be disabled in a hurry making the plugin unuseable. I spend less money buying Enpass for full access and better support than I would donating to keepass.

Been using the Windows version for years and this works a breeze on my tablet. Nothing fancy here, will maintain and copy my master database from my PC every now and then. If you don't want to use the 'QuickUnlock' feature you can disable it in the Settings (thanks to the developer, Philip Crocall at Croco Apps, for that infornation). I really can't fault it.

It can do the job of accessing your KP password database, IF you can manage to access your file to start with. UX is generally hideous but especially, FTP access is an infuriating nightmare to use. They don't even manage to identify the fields properly or to tell you what's wrong when it doesn't work, and it just erase all of your FTP parameters WHICH YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY RE-ENTER OVER AND OVER AGAIN until you give up or finally get it. There's a "directory" field in which you actually need to enter THE FILE PATH!! (FILE != DIRECTORY GUYS!!!); of course, if it's the ftp password, or the port that's wrong or that you didn't enter a correct FILEPATH in the "DIRECTORY" field you won't have a clue because it just says unable to connect. To make things worse. if you have the right adress and an ok filepath but the wrong FTP PASSWORD it will give you the database open dialog as if everything was ok and then it will give you another cryptic error message even if you entered the right DB password. Clean up your act guys, identifiying fields properly and informing the user what is actually going on is like the level 0 of a usable UX.

This is a great app with all the features you'd expect (or more, considering that it's free) from a password management app, the features all work and are maintained by the developer, and you can easily customize the functionality by turning different parts of the app on/off to suit how you use it, which I like since the entire point of using open-source software is security and choice. It's very reliable and gives helpful warnings if something may not be working as you might intend.

I couldn't live without it. The UI is intuitive and organized. This app works offline. It takes a minute to get setup but it's a breeze after that. I can put the encrypted file that stores my passwords on a cloud of my choosing (which has its own pass phrase) and I can point desktop versions of keepassXC to it. This makes them sync up and I feel comfortable having so much control over my passwords. And best of all it's free! I strongly encourage people to donate to the developers. The world needs more of this kind of work.

Always having issues with this app not finding or matching apps. For instance, when I want to login to an app, say Twitter, after I authenticate, it will say "No search results". It's looking for "com.twitter" and not finding it. I have to hit the magnifying glass and type in Twitter, and then it will show the results. It does this for every single app. It's a frustrating pain that it can't remove the "com." in front of these things and return proper search results. When I type in the name I am looking for, it works well.

Dear developer, since a couple of days ago the app has started behaving weirdly; it does not allow you to enter any new entries or edit the ones already stored. The only choice available within the app right now (at least in my case) apart from viewing your previous password entries, is to donate a beer. Furthermore, I just received a notification from the app, which never appeared before, warning me that, due to a"very rare" exception, Android OS had killed the application, and some of the app's features might not be fully restored, urging to contact the developer (Philipp Crocoll) through his email if that is the case. I really value the app since it provides a practical and efficient way to get access to the thousand passwords that all of us have. Thus, I should have probably being more conscious about the dev's efforts to make my life a little bit easier, and had paid anything for this tiny safe that the app represents, that's my bad. On the other hand I do not feel very comfortable with the new no-features of the app and this worrying messages popping out from it, since very sensitive information is stored within it. I would like to know if "donating a beer" will retore the previous features that the app used to have, and if not having paid it yet is the actual origin of the non-features and worrying pop out messages I am receiving. If payment were the solution, I would recommend to warn the app's users this matter from the begining, or make Kee2pass a non-free app (which, as I mentioned before, consider a fair approach given the quality of it), since it could lead to some misunderstanding, and given the sensitiveness of private data nowadays, I would like to be prevented in advance. Thanks in advance to the developer for his answers and support.

The fingerprint function is pretty sick. I feel like Bond. James Bond. And the UI is bit of an improvement over KeePassDroid, which has a bit larger installed base but is likely to be surpassed by this one as long as we can keep it funded. Hint, hint, guys: Maintaining good software isn't cheap. Just remember, if the service is free *you* are the product! I had to knock a star off due to a problem with the menu item "Synchronize database...". A message flashes momentarily on the screen reporting something to effect that insufficient permissions to external storage. I've gone through Android->Apps and given this app all the available permissions. But to no avail. This forces me to close the database and "Select a new database" again before the file on external storage is read again.

Like the app. To me, it's a little cryptic where the data file is stored on my device and concerned about switching devices based on an experience with an earlier version. Has support for Nextcloud, is able to generate one time passwords and most importantly is open source. Only thing I wish it had and it doesnt is a read-only mode like KeePassXC on the desktop, but hopefully it'll be added in the future. In the meantime, I've created a new Nextcloud user to which I shared my password database but only for read. So, this way it's not possible for the app to modify it. I had to disable the local cache option in the app though as it was causing me issues.

UPDATE: Problem solved. It turns out that the the database is stored in a specially created pCloud directory \Applications\Keepass2Android\ - once I worked this out, all pCloud problems were solved. ORIGINAL: Nice to see that it claims to support pCloud, but I'm afraid I can't get this feature to work at all. When I try to browse my pCloud archives for my existing database it just displays a ROOT directory with no content and no tree. And any database created is saved only locally (as pcloud:///*.kbdx) without syncing with pCloud at all.

Great app. Giving four stars instead of five only because it feels slightly laggish when opening and closing the database. For the rest it's perfect. The developer deserves a donation.

KeePass is a great password manager. I have my password database synced between all my computers and my phone and it works great. It even handles database merges properly in those times that I add/change passwords from my computer and my phone. It works seamlessly with just about every phone app that requires a password as well as Chrome. It's probably the best password manager out there and it's completely free!

Has a Dark mode! Woo Hoo! A few of quirks in the UI made me scratch my head (I managed to switch databases to use the offline copy somehow which prevents you from entering a new password entry). No prompts told me that I was offline - just a missing button was a clue that something was up. Weird but just a "Doh!" moment once I figured out out

I've used this app for more than 15 yrs... i use it on my phone for tracking the passwords we use here as IT director. i even had fingerprint integration and it worked well until i changed a finger print and suddenly the database tells me that the composite key is invalid. now, the years and years worth of passwords are inaccessible with no way to retrieve them. internet search shows I'm not the only one. if you use this, back it up to a computer regularly or you're tempting fate. beware!!

This is such a useful app, keeps all my passwords both for phone & computer; I can access all my sites from my phone with a couple of keystrokes. Very user-friendly & intuitive to use it you're a regular computer-user. One-password entrance to database or for quick access it only requires the last 3 digits of the password. You can also lock it quickly with a keystroke if need be.

I used KeePassDroid for several years and have been annoyed by a number of it's bugs. I finally decided to look for an alternative and found this Keepass2Android which is so much better. It has all of the features of KeePassDroid plus so much more. It remembers where my key file is (something KeePassDroid would forget after a reboot) and it automatically syncs with my DropBox account (something KeePassDroid doesn't do.) I wish I had found it sooner. It's so easy to use and works great!

The interface and features are well thought out. Of particular note is the import function, which allows you to select from multiple popular formats, or use a configurable .csv input. I was able to import 100+ entries from the Windows database of my old password keeper utility.

I really want to give this a high rating but unfortunately it had bugs that make it unworkable. Firstly, I can no longer access the small keyboard that types in the passwords, so I had to copy paste. Secondly, when there is a change in the DB in the browser, there is a dialog behind the asking if I want to merge, but it's behind a dialog saying that it's working so I can't touch it.

I gave a not great review of this because i was having trouble seeing updated entries after making changes on my laptop. Lo and behold, it's not Keepass2Android that was the issue, but Dropbox. I kept saving the kdbx file and could see it update on my laptop BUT the updated file couldn't be seen on Dropbox from my phone. Sheesh. Dropbox sucks, but Keepass2Android rocks.

I've been using this for some months on understudy and loved the cloud interface and the app itself and worthy of a 5 star. However, I just noticed the function to make additional entries has now been removed. Could this have anything to do with recent request notices for octoberfest beer donations? This next issue may be unrelated to this app, but just to shoot it in just incase there are others here in same situation, I also started getting emails supposedly from some hackers using one of my emails to send my account password to me and threatening to dig more into my private database if I don't send some `bitcoin`

I moved from KeepassDroid to this app. I use Keepass with Resilio Sync to keep all my devces (Windows, IOS, and Android) synced without ever saving anything on the cloud. I mean shared storage at who know where! I like the automation of logging into sites and apps. Sometimes Keepass2Android decides to ignore my login attempt, not sure I know why and it is infrequent enough that it is not worth any of my time. I don have one questions.I was trying to update the notes and it does not seem to have the option. A quick search revealed no clues, so I was hoping the author or community may be able to pint out the error of my ways or if it is not possibl

Its maybe not the fanciest looking one, but it really worked well for me for a long time, and it really felt save using it. My only problem is that I only could transfer the data from my laptop through dropbox, which I don't see it as the safest way, since you do it through internet. I would prefer to directly safe the data in my phone storage and get it from there.

I use this all the time for multiple accounts, multiple profiles. I have a work account and a personal account that I backup my database to different Google drives. Integrates well with Keepass2 on Windows desktop making passwords available via Chrome browser extension. Can't move password entries between profiles but that's probably because you can only have one unlocked at a time.

I recently purchased a Samsung S10 and am unable to access my database. When I try and log in to KeePass it spins for a while and never signs me in. I have verified I am using the correct password. It worked perfectly on my now defunct S8. Edit - Apparently when I restored my apps to the new phone it corrupted the app and I couldn't open my database in One Drive. I've never had that happen before. Eventually I got it to work after reinstalling the app a couple times.

I've heard good things about this app but the support is so thing. Namely, I've spent days trying to figure out how to access a .kdbx database that requires a YubiKey challenge-response. There is some documentation on github but it leaves out the critical part of how to create the auxiliary file. A quick guide on how this would be much appreciated, until then I'm essentially locked out of my phone...

I'm so glad I found this app. The cloud integration, biometrics access and keyfile caching are superb. But I think the best feature, which I didn't find until after installing, is the plugin that enables Auto Fill system access. This means that my main Keepass database fully controls all my devices and everything is always up-to-date. I can't recommend this app enough (though some UI tweaking options would be nice)

Update: It's magically working again! The issue was, when I open the app and tried to login with fingerprint or with pass it would crash. Maybe the issue was with caching. Can you please fix it ASAP! 😢

Has been a great App over the years and good compliment to keepass on the PC. However app stopped oppening maln/default database after auto upgrade to 1.07-r1 and it would not allow selection of another database. Downgrading to 1.06f fixed the issue. I have been using Keepass for years. However, lately I have problems with the fingerprint AND password function. From one day to the next both don't work anymore. I am considering using something else as I am not very happy about losing about 200 passwords. What is happening with this app that problems occur laterly. Hi Philipp, I have tried, with the recovery key. Didn't work on Windows or my Android mobile. Thanks Philipp, I have tried that as well. Also tried my personal recovery key. Unfortunately without success. Years of the collection of my passwords gone. I have deinstalled the app / deleted the link. I am using dashline instead. However to be fair. Keepass is the best when it comes to the user interface. I liked using it for a long time. Unfortunately that time is over as it is no fun when you loose all your passwords. Thanks for the time when Keepass worked.

This is now my Encryptr replacement as development on Encryptr is null... I am using a Pixel 3a XL (Andriod 9) no issues that I am aware of, so far. The only downside for me is where I store my DB, as I use Tresorit. I absolutely knew it wouldn't be supported, I am sure it is not popular enough, nor is SpiderOak. So beside the maintenance of the DB on my device, the app works very well.

Absolutely the best way to auto-generate and store passwords. The interface is great, auto-complete and a custom keyboard rather than using the clipboard makes it secure, and the Keepass is an open protocol so you don't depend on a company to keep your passwords.

No pernicious permissions! I don't want an app with sensitive info spying on me. Works well and has strong security features, fingerprint unlock. The downsides are that it is not intuitive to use but I am ok with that if it means better security. Does what I need and gets the job done.

Fantastic App. I have to knock down 1 star because on my S8+ (Android Oreo 8.0.0) autofill does not work in the Firefox app, nor some other web browsers I've tried. This is with Kee set as the default autofill service, plus with your Accessibility Service plugin installed and enabled. I also find no luck doing what some suggest - long-pressing credential fields until an autofill option comes up - no such option appears. Am I doing something wrong Philipp? Other than this, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with this.

Uodate: Changed rating to 5 for a very responsive developer. Works well. Just don't understand why app requires full access to Google Drive when backing up the database. Made me doubt if this company can be trusted with critical information. I can't see the option to back up in local storage.

Great app. There is one thing I'm wondering, though: is it at all possible to AutoFill (T)OTP codes, or are there technical limitations (or security considerations) preventing you from implementing that functionality? Also, I've found the AutoFill feature to be quite hit-and-miss in terms of detecting websites in Firefox (Beta), which I don't mind that much — I can still select an entry through the notification.

EDIT: I managed to fix the problem. Via the desktop client I deleted a bunch of form fields under the Kee (Firefox plug in) tab in the problematic entries. I also deleted a string called KSRPC JSON. The entry is accessible again. Maybe the desktop plugin conflicted with your app? ---------- It used to work fine. But recently some entries have become inaccessible to me, causing the app to stop responding when selected. This still happens when I disable the automatic keyboard swap. Very annoying.

It would be great if it worked properly with Android's autofill service. It sort of works in some browsers but I have to hold my finger down on the field select autofill, then pick the account and that's just for the username, then I have to do the same thing for the password field... Not really 'auto' fill, more like semi-kinda autofill.

Thank you for offering the app free... for sometime. Unfortunately there was a hidden trap where after a certain number of solicitations to offer a beer. If you do not offer one your app will just deny any further editing of the entries. It would be fair if the developer has stopped any editing but offered a way to export the entered data. As far as I know all the effort to type-in the data in the database is the user's property. It would have also been fair if the developer said in advance that the app is a limited free app and it would stop after a number of solicitations... it is a shame that someone has to retype all those data entries in an alternative serious application. This being said, thank you for not scrapping the data when the app stopped editing the database. It could have been worse!

Super handy app for KeePass users. The UX could be a bit better in some places. For example, it'd be great if the app automatically registered an app's package name for KeePass entries when selected during autofill. The autofill option also doesn't always show up. That said, these are minor complaints for an otherwise great app!

Great as a password safe - I recommend using masterpassword combined with a keyfile, which can be any file you keep on your devices. That way you can safely cloud/sync your password database, because a compromised masterpsssword is useless without that keyfile (photo of your cat). The desktop (pc) version autotype (login) function needs improvement.
