I love this app. It's the only app that helps me learn and remember the word completely. Other apps, and I've tried many, it doesn't seem to do it for me. The app bundles was not working for a bit, but after contacting support, they have fixed the issue with a speedy reply. I encourage everyone to get the cheap bundles, it really helped with my memorization of the words when other apps could not.

WORK AROUND Kana town is a really good app, fantastic actually. However the servers are horrid so downloading extra bundles is hard. Basically in order to download any bundles, buy the ones you want(itll take a long time to connect) , reset the app or sync with database (this takes many tries, like half an hour) then the bundles will have "download" next to them, it takes a long time but keep tapping download and it'll eventually connect, and for a few seconds you can download multiple packs.

Get the free version and stick to it. The basic app gets 5 starts - it's well made and the SRS implementation is fantastic. Don't bother get the bundles. I've tried buying them and the payment goes through but the app never downloads them. Contacting the app developer doesn't help. The only choice is to ask Google for a refund.

It was a very good app but lately has been crashing a lot and the app doesn't seem to download the bundles bought. Tried reinstalling but the database migration didn't work and I lost all my progress. This was a very good app in helping me learn hiragana and katakana so please do fix the app or the rating stays at 2 stars.

Unable to download and install in-app bundles even though the payment is processed. Developer is unresponsive, so you're unable to get this fixed or get your money back.

I remember using and liking this app a few years ago. After re-downloading it though I can't use it. The migration always times out without finishing.

I used to love this app but the new version made it a lot more clunky and complicated to use. The older app was very streamlined and effective, allowing one to make and track progress quickly. I wish I didn't delete the old app when I took a break from learning. It was the best. I'll be searching now for another app that was like the old Kana Town app.

From all the "practice japanese for beginners" app that I tried, this is definitely the best one in my opinion. The only problem (which is true to all apps of the kind) is that it is complementary. So don't expect to truly learn japanese just with this. It will help you with some specific problems, but you still need to study the structure of the language, the vocabulary, kanji and the writing and order of the strokes of all the characters through other means.

Great app! The UI is clean and neat, and the SRS and mock exams are very helpful. The one problem I have is that this app used to have a function where the kana would turn yellow if you got it wrong, letting you know which ones to practice. I wish you'd bring it back!

excellent app, not too pricy either. however have 2 issues with it. -first one is that there are NO randomizer for test it's always the same order which can lead to fake learning where you answer because you know the order by heart rather than because you learn the world. -my second is the numer section should be more randomize than that. right not it's all the exception roundup + a few normal. It would be very nice to have complicated number such as 15326.
