I used to love this app - it was my primary tool for writing on my Chromebook. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend it as with every new update comes new bugs. I've lost countless hours of work due to crashes and even more lost due to saving glitches. It used to be so minimal and fast, now it suffers from constant input lag and just feels like a totally different piece of software. Canceled my Pro subscription and moving on.

Used to be great, but now it auto-formats as I type and there's no option to turn it off. Can't tell you how maddening it is to erase one letter at the start of a paragraph and have that whole entire paragraph jump up a line to smash up against the prior paragraph in a horrible text wall. There's other issues, like how the formatting is so broken that I can't read text files written in an old version of Jotterpad (which worked FINE) and have to open them in an entirely separate app. Pretty bad!

I loved Jotterpad before this update. The design isn't as aesthetic as before and I can't feel the 'minimalist' theme of it now. I liked the old font more and the friendly design. Also, the logo at the opening screen is... Somehow irritating to the eyes because it's stretched too much and the background is just white. Numerous features that used to be free before are behind the pay wall now as well... I've been using this app for years now but I guess it's time to uninstall.

Don't waste your time! I've been using Jotterpad for a couple of months daily and even paid for the subscription to use cloud storage. I have lost about 4 days work of writing from this awful app from the auto save feature never working, the cloud storage overwriting my new work and when I contacted support in tears, they took multiple days to respond and then never bothered helping in the end. Waste of money, waste of time and too much heartache if you care about your work. Awful app.

I cannot believe after all these years JotterPad still doesn't have an application for Windows. This is just crazy to me. I would gladly leave IA Writer and pay for the option to sync across all of my devices. Because while I prefer the JotterPad writing experience and its beauitful UI, IA Writer syncs across all of my devices. Admittedly, JotterPad is better in every other way. However, convenience is huge. I'll be back when JotterPad has Windows application so I can write from my computer.

I've been using Jotterpad for years now. It had been working great until my app crashed and none of the hours of work that I wrote got saved, which is odd. Jotterpad has always saved my work until now. I've tried to recover it many times through versions (which has over 500 pages of work) and each time I'm close to recovering my work, the app crashes AGAIN. I just want my profress back so I don't have to write hours worth of text all over again...

i mean, it IS good but i've lost months and MONTHS of work that took me forever to write and they all got deleted. i think it's stupid that you have to have premium in order to save your stories to the cloud. this is a terrible app to store your writing on.

Despite the help article claiming that they don't delete files, it's a bold-face lie. They'd rather blame the end-users than accept the fact that they made a programming mistake. The app, on its latest update, deleted all my saved notes. I assume it's because of how the local home folder is created. Terrible application stay FAR FAR AWAY and DO NOT TRUST THEM TO STORE YOUR NOTES.

When I first start the app, it offers a 7 day free trial. That's fine. But then not 10 seconds later I arrive on the main screen and ANOTHER offer has to pop up. No thank you. Once is enough.

I started using JotterPad years ago when it was free. Cloud syncing was free and worked great. Then they charged for cloud sync in a new update. I paid the one time fee to unlock it, and now is locked again and begs for a monthly subscription. Sorry, I'm deleting it and moving on. Way to take an awesome app and turn it into a piece of overpriced junk! Your greed has lost you yet another customer.
