requires following permissions on your android device.

precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine where you are, and may consume additional battery power.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

view Wi-Fi connections
Allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

read the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to read the contents of your SD card.

read phone state
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

run at startup
Allows the app to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the phone and allow the app to slow down the overall phone by always running.

prevent phone from sleeping
Allows the app to prevent the phone from going to sleep.

modify or delete the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to write to the SD card.

receive data from Internet
Allows apps to accept cloud to device messages sent by the app's service. Using this service will incur data usage. Malicious apps could cause excess data usage.

Why limit my search to a geographic location? Monster - Get with the program! People are looking for remote opportunities, especially on a mobile app! This app is a joke! Restricting search parameters based on my current location and not giving me the option to remove this is a severe limitation that renders your app useless! I uninstalled this rubbish 🗑.

  2. Ken Minick-avatar

    Ken Minick

app App suddenly started giving me push notifications of jobs in Europe. Couldn't get that to change, so I just turned the push notifications off. The search function simply does not work. No matter what geographic location I enter, 'no results found.'

  3. William Conroy-avatar

    William Conroy

usa Keeps showing jobs that I am not nearly qualified for, even though I've adjusted the preference settings to show me what I'm looking for countless times. Which makes this App nearly unusable.

  4. Lynne Jones-avatar

    Lynne Jones

near me Very easy to apply, by swiping left of right. However, if you make a mistake and accidentally swipe that you don't want the job, there is no way to retrieve the position sp that you may apply.

  5. Nadeem Rizvi-avatar

    Nadeem Rizvi

review Very slow response, each page or tab takes so much time to open.

  6. J.R. B-avatar

    J.R. B

api Better off using website. Its easier and you are able to check your inbox. Which i haven't seen on the app.

  7. Jonathon Hufham-avatar

    Jonathon Hufham

india Looking through jobs is fast and easy. Being required to apply at each individual website for each company is repetive, cumbersome, and time consuming. It would be far easier to have to answer each question once for your Monster profile, and then answer unique questions a company may ask for the specific role applied for

  8. DeJay Jackson-avatar

    DeJay Jackson

wiki Update GUI for Android use and user friendly touch response. Most of the pages do not respond or not formatted properly

  9. Shir Kandahari-avatar

Easy to manuver in order to find what ai need.

  20. Ryan Self-avatar

    Ryan Self

They don't read your profile and ask you questions that they could have known before calling cuz the answers are on your resume. Better training and having people who listen and read and people you can understand goes a long way

  21. Gloria Campbell-avatar

    Gloria Campbell

Just started using this app but it seems like they have some pretty good decent jobs that I'm looking for hopefully playing to hear from the employer's real soon.

  22. Monica Jason-avatar

    Monica Jason

    Easy to access and use

  23. Leoni Selby-avatar

    Leoni Selby

Many things work poorly. I can't change the language or currency, CV is badly translated to the profile page, UX is terrible and illogical. Skills just disappear when you click on them. Very user unfriendly and frustrating. Too many things to mention here. Needs a total overhaul if you ask me.

  24. DaNielle Spendloave-avatar

    DaNielle Spendloave

The idea of this app is great. I like being able to swipe through jobs. The thing that is driving me NUTS right now is that I have to put in a city as part of my search. What if I want to search the entire USA? I don't want to have to put in every city in the country in order to find jobs. It's giving me jobs that aren't even close to the field I'm searching for because the city is more important than the job description.

  25. Orlando Esquer-avatar

    Orlando Esquer

Great app helps me find a job in tact and very fast

  26. Rony Gomez-avatar

    Rony Gomez

Applying for jobs has never been easier

  27. Stephen Davids-avatar

    Stephen Davids

Useless in-app job search capability! Although I know there are presently 275 suitable job postings for me, the search function in the Monster app could not find any of them (The jobs do show up on the Monster website via a link my colleague sent to me). Search doesn't list any of them.

  28. Beth Lundquist-avatar

    Beth Lundquist

Monster user for YEARS! I'm just your basic user. I don't know if it connects to my calendar or anything like that. I think it's one of the most effective job search tools out there. It's clear, it's concise, and I've had good results using it.

  29. Issa Qumsieh-avatar

    Issa Qumsieh

Excellent service and easy to use App

  30. Alex S-avatar

    Alex S

Amateur app design! This is so badly made the app is difficult to navigate and they dont even have a messages area within the app what a joke. Use indeed much better operating system

  31. Elizabeth Erickson-avatar

    Elizabeth Erickson

app as well laid out, I like that I can upload my resume and it's easy accessible, and applying to the jobs is easy. Especially during this time when you have to apply to hundreds of jobs at a time this makes it easy to go through them and not waste time filling out applications for every single job.

  32. david wyatt-avatar

    david wyatt

The idea is great, basically tinder for jobs, however ever since I started using this app to apply for jobs I've had nothing but nuisance phone calls and bogus texts from cold callers telling me I've been in an accident or some sort of scam telling me I've won money. I'm considering whether to report Monster to the information commissioner's office for breach of GDPR

  33. Adrianna Spooner-avatar

    Adrianna Spooner

The layout is great, and you can see everything that you've uploaded on the computer in a good layout. Applying to jobs is as easy as swiping for dates in Tinder. 10/10 would swipe right and will actually keep this app installed.

  34. Ammon Bingham-avatar

    Ammon Bingham

I really like it! One thing I would change is to make it possible to only search for remote jobs, right now you still have to have a specific city selected even if you say remote as a keyword.

  35. Scot Witt-avatar

    Scot Witt

I've been using quite a few unruly job site apps. This one connects me to the #1 job service with a logical and intuitive GUI that works smoothly on my Android phone.

  36. The Real Wayne of Mississippi-avatar

    The Real Wayne of Mississippi

Terrible app. I've put my resume on here and they send me medical jobs and I'm not in the medical field at all. It doesn't have enough jobs listed. It used to be a decent site but now its just Terrible.

  37. Stephenie Alfieri-avatar

    Stephenie Alfieri

Your app is okay not the best though. It would be easier if the search was better. If you can just enter a zip code. Or a simple word for employment to bring up jobs. If you can do that adjustment I would give you a better rating.

  38. Bunny Hay-avatar

    Bunny Hay

Monster is pretty good. Up side, I get a lot more call backs than when I use Indeed. Down side, it's the same job postings back to back sometimes. Not all keywords register either. But still it's a good app i would recommend.

  39. Johanna Cutler-avatar

    Johanna Cutler

Easy to use to browse through job listings. Seems to have a lot of tech jobs which made it less useful for me. They really promote their resume program that is pretty expensive.

  40. Nancy Johnson-avatar

    Nancy Johnson

How do you turn off the recommended job via cards or list? The list is useless! It's too general and majority are not good recommendations. I want the option to turn off! I hate the job suggestions! They are jobs I am qualified for and don't know how to update job listings!

  41. Andrew Yermak-avatar

    Andrew Yermak

It only allows to look up specific job titles one at a time, but not all available openings.

  42. Jon Moore-avatar

    Jon Moore

Chose 'don't email me' option during set up. immediately emailed me... Filter settings limited.

  44. DGreco63-avatar

Not really impressed. Doesn't sync with the desktop version or show updates to my profile. This is one of those "install and then immediately delete" apps

  45. Viktor Sarapkov-avatar

    Viktor Sarapkov

Not allow to upload CV always says about unknown problem...

  46. Erin O'Farrell-avatar

    Erin O'Farrell

Using from a border city and US jobs keep showing up. I wish there was a way to filter to only Canadian jobs.

  47. Paula T-avatar

    Paula T

Absolutely 100% the most USELESS app EVER! According to this app there is no jobs anywhere within 100k of the town I live in. It mainly gives me job postings from the states...USELESS WASTE OF SPACE on my phone...

  48. DAVE OBrien-avatar

    DAVE OBrien

App is ok but keeps showing same jobs over and over.

  49. Kenneth Keith-avatar

    Ely DD

Easy to use and straight to the point.

  88. Whitney Murray-avatar

    Whitney Murray

The interface of the app itself is alright however there is one key thing I don't like. When potential employers send us messages we cannot access the messages from the app. You have to log in on a computer to check the messages. They should make that an accessible feature on the app. No reason why we can't at this day and age of technology.

  89. Brad Wilson-avatar

    Brad Wilson

    Easy to use. Intuitive.

  90. Ian Troge-avatar

    Ian Troge

Should be able to adjust filters to avoid specific companys

    John Hunsberger

What a terrible app. Every setting is hidden, not there, or hard to find. Jobs suggestions aren't related to my field. After adding my phone number to Monster, I started getting robo calls and contacts from random recruiters for things I don't do. I don't know who they were selling my information to. Would not trust this app.

This app is very easy to control. once you get everything set up it will even remind you that it's time to apply for jobs. However this app does need some work. I keep getting notifications that employers want to speak with me but when I open it up it says I have no messages.

Was my 2nd go to job search website. Now unable to input email address. Doesn't allow me to go past the first page. Thus unable to proceed any further through the wizard set up process. As pointless as the website which constantly produces 502/504 errors.

  101. KMC _slayer of demons-avatar

    KMC _slayer of demons

Thumbs Down. I can't upload, import, or download anything to my profile on Monster despite repeated attempts. They deleted two attempts at two different cover letters, never to be found. Not a promising user interface start, at all.

  102. Vanessa Ollenberg-avatar

    Vanessa Ollenberg

Utterly terrible. This is job hunting, so no I don't want the user interface experience of tinder. I'd like to start off being more selective when applying for a job, then expand from there. To Save' or not, where's the logic in swipe pass' resulting in permanently being unable to apply for the job listing. This is in addition to the application being unable to produce more than two job postings regardless of how general or wide my search is.

  103. Jak Davis-avatar

    Jak Davis

I like the Monster web page, but the app is not very well done. The job search function showed results for hundreds of jobs not related to the keywords of the career field. That issue makes this app completely worthless as a job search engine.

  110. Mark Brophy-avatar

    Mark Brophy

Just returned to Monster and to be honest, what a disappointment. It is like the developers abandoned it. By far the worst App when compared to the others. The UI is pathetic, the filters are all but non existent, searching for jobs is cumbersome. Thanks to the Corona Virus/ Covid-19, it is extremely difficult to find work. We need much better job search tools to work with. Common guys, get your frickin act together, seriously!

  118. M Mitchell-avatar

    M Mitchell

I downloaded the app to make a quick search for jobs in my area easier. It forces you to enter your personal info and sign up before looking at jobs - completely unecessary. I only want to see available jobs at the moment, not make a long term committment with an app I will only use a few times.

  119. Jake Uniacke-avatar

    Jake Uniacke

  126. David-avatar

Useless popups appear every time the app is started, and every time I have to update settings. Only use this as a check in case I've missed anything on the other job search apps. Becoming irrelevant due to terrible design and poor quality/release management.

Didn't care for the Format. It treats it like a dating app with the swiping formula, which just doesn't make sense. A formula like that just slows down the process by which you can view jobs. I will admit, the format does make you look at jobs a bit more thoroughly than apps like Indeed or Linkedin, but that isn't always a good thing. I give it two stars for the mileage from home slider, instead of jumping from 25 to 50 miles, you can select 35 or 40.

Stuck in a loop at startup. Enter job title and location and repeat, repeat, repeat.

Input is way too cumbersome when it comes to dates. If there's a way to type them in I missed it. Then the job listings are displayed like a dating app would be. I like to compare multiple jobs before deciding what to apply for. Feels like this version is a way to settle for a job rather than finding one you want. It has been a letdown so far. I dropped it when it made me pass on a number of National Guard openings. 45 might be a little late to begin a military career.

Tried ages ago and wasn't to my taste at all, thought I'd give it another go as I'm searching for a new job. They have improved the interface so much! Very easy to use, got set up and applying for relevant jobs in minutes.

I appreciate the fact you can apply for jobs with just a click. It is frustrating when you have to do an entire application as well as sending your resume. Everything they need to know is right there.

It doesn't show me what I search for. Example: graphic design or print design is not the same as engineering or interior design. The use of the app is annoying. Swiping left or right on the same posts every time I get on. Also I'm not allowed to sort posts according to date. I prefer viewing a list than what you have now. I'm not even gonna start on the irrelevant emails.

Waste of my time. I see how they thought this new format would be easy to use. It's not Tinder!!! The search function is either horribly flawed, or Monster is losing its customer base. Once you enter a job title it'll show you a few options then go right back to the same few companies with jobs that don't apply to me. I haven't been on Monster in years and probably won't go back in until they fix this flawed app.

no way, that I have found, to focus the search parameters for the fields that I am looking for. used the app for about 20 minutes and they are asking for a 5 star rating. you want a 5 star rating? here's how you get it; first make it where we can search the industries that we want, second, don't ask someone for a rating when they are still trying to figure out the app, and thirdly, make a way for someone to update their resume in the app without having to go through 500 steps.

The app doesn't show relevant jobs, won't accept key skills in the profile (it drops things like numbers, so 3DS Max (a primary tool) is not a searchable term), and doesn't present a list to scroll through. I have to look at every option and have to dismiss one before moving to the next... can't go back, and if I get in a hurry, I'm likely to miss something useful. I'm going to mess around with the app a bit more and might revise my rating, but I'm more likely to just uninstall at this point.

I think it makes it a lot harder to look for jobs and search what you want, since you only have the "swipe" action, as if this is a dating site. I like the way indeed does it a lot better. Type in what you're looking for, and find things along those lines, and if you don't want it, you don't even have to click on it. And monster instantly takes you to the website to apply, and I don't like that. I'd rather do all apps as soon as I can, without that option, and take time to do others on website, but you don't really have that option. Like indeed, just says apply with Indeed resume and that's it. I like indeed better.

Having used Tinder before, I am accustomed to this type of layout. I don't think it's ideal for finding a job though. It would be one thing if that was an option, but they really couldn't design an actual list for you to look at? On top of that, I live in Pennsylvania and when I turned on my phone GPS it located me in San Francisco. Guess I'm heading back to my computer to use Monster.

I have used Monster to search for jobs in the past and had some success. This app could be useful, however, I am only contacted by sales recruiters. When I open app it only says "sorry I have nothing for you". I try to manually search and it gives me nothing. I feel a bit blind as people can search me, however even trying to change what sort of position I would like to look for...nope...Monster has nothing, or totally irrelevant to my search. I think the app and its internal filters need to be reviewed by their team. Thanks anyway, a bit disappointed in this app.

Favorite job app already! I like the swipe option. Applying for jobs is a tedious task. Having to fill out the same applications over, and over, and over and over again, and over again. Job Searching can take hours, when in today's technological world, it shouldn't. This makes job search much easier with the swipe option. Since my resume is automatically sent to the employer when I swipe right, I can apply for more jobs faster, increasing my chances of landing an interview and getting hired!
