I'm pretty sure that the AndroidTV app shares as least some base code with this, because they both have the same damn issues with deselecting subtitles, playing wrong subtitles, etc. It's highly annoying and hindering my adoption of jellyfin. I even give $5 a month to their open collective acct to show my appreciation. Default subtitles get deselected when you skip to the next episode, you have to select none, then back to English to fix it.

It's fine. Let's be honest. Most of us will watch our content on the TV. And the Chromecast functionality, believe it or not, is simply not good. When it shows up at all it works fine but half of the time the option isn't even available. Such a shame.

Soooo many bugs! I always use the Android app so i can cast my music but playback usually stops after a certain time for no reason even when shuffling a huge playlist. When trying to play one album it just cannot play the whole album, stopping after two songs, try to skip to the next, but nope, repeats track one again! So frustrating!

I really want to like this app. It's frustrating to see that we can't see our favorites for shows. I have favorited a bunch of them and there is no section to see them anywhere. Favs work for movies only. Can you fix this?

Quite a few issues with the UI, it could use more work in general; some playback issues, the most annoying of which is that the app needs to stay in the foreground with screen on, or else the music lags Still heeeaps better than plex

Takes some time and effort to set up the server side well, but the documentation available online is sufficient (although a youtube tutorial or two would be fantastic). I have had limited issues with using external players, but given this is an open source program it's totally understandable. Keep up the good work!! Edit: spelling

Update: They fixed the issues and added option to listen to the audio in background and while screen off. AWESOME!!!! 5 Stars. Bye Bye Plex Old: Does not use external player even when selected. Only reason I want to use external is because every time I turn off phone screen, the internal player stops. Sometimes I just want to listen to the audio. Please fix external player or have option to run in background with screen off. Other that, some Playlist issues. Jellyfin is awesome though.

I love my fileserver and open source software! The app definitely has a lot of bugs (locking the phone stops music streams, subtitles desyncs from video when fast forward/rewind sometimes, and downloads are messy), but for the most part it works great and fast and feels like a paid product. The sheer fact I have the ability to own and consolidate a media system without having to build or pay for it is incredible. I hope to contribute soon!

Jellyfin as a service and a program? Amazing, even when i do have issues its usually easy enough to fix myself. And the fact its free is amazing as well, nothing but respect for the devs This app? Usually decent, but subtitles tend to be really buggy for the app. And it makes watching alot of my shows a pain on my phone. Subtitles either have a hard time loading or load in the wrong order. If thats fixed id easily give a 5

Great alternative but still needs improvement. I use it for my private "Spotify" but there are a some points that need improvement in Android app: - variing bandwidth should be compensated by a configurable cache size, but atm if i.e. lte drops, music stops playing after the song - ui very slow - ui not usable for in car Entertainment - no android auto Support - when a call arrives on your playing device (phone) jellyfin stops and has to reload from scratch thanks for your effort!
