Worthless, it connects only to google audio which no longer exists. has moved to youtube. And this app doesnt store music from youtube. Downloaded because was suppose to give eq control for charge 5. It doesnt only has volume slider. Charge 5 sounds horrible out of box maxxed mid voice and no lows or highs. Charge 4 sounded much better. If i cant find way to turn out the headache creating voice frequency ill be returning charge 5

It's kind of hard at first to get it set up with your speakers but once you get there it's pretty neat. Sometimes speakers will disconnect while you're using them which is kind of annoying. Hopefully JBL works on making it even better.

Despite what everyone else thinks, it is great. Me and my dad uses this for his speaker and it never bugs out, and has clear audio. By the way get yourselves a pair of JBL L100 Century speakers. they will blow you away.

Absolute garbage of an app , can't even connect with speaker after pairing with Bluetooth. Avoid

Do not buy. If I had known I would not have bought this speaker. You should not have to download an app to use a Bluetooth speaker. You should not have to give JBL access to your pictures and friends phone numbers and names to use s Bluetooth speaker. You should not have to read and agree to an EULA (end user license agreement) to use a Bluetooth speaker.

Garbage app from a garbage company. Bought a device and had issues. Downloaded this app (they have multiple in the app store and it's not clear which you should get so I downloaded many before finding the right one) due to issues with my new speaker. This app can't even recognize the speaker. Reached out to support and when asked to choose the product from a drop down menu, the product was not listed (JBL Charge Essential).You make this product but don't even support it? Rep told me to return it

Thank you JBL for a great sounding EXTREME 2 but this app is just lacking and lagging in the competition! Obviously, you can do much better than this. Maybe an app that can control the speaker's on/off/wake/sleep function, shows battery level, has equalizer function and presets too. Also, would be nice to have Spotify integration and other music streaming apps. But i guess you already know these things, don't you?😁

Such a stupid app. It doesn't do anything anymore. You can't edit the light effects, the connection isn't good. The app says there is firmware upgrade for my pulse speaker and then 'there is no internet'. Totally nonsense and stupid. How could there be no internet when my phones etc etc is already connected? Just dumb. Sadly it seems JBL had given up on the apps development. Oh well, that's the end of this company then as most of your customers are very pissed now.
