Already organized your music in folders? Folder Player gives you direct access to your audio library since 2010 :)
Folder Player is FREE (NO Ads, NO in-app purchases!), minimalistic but powerful alternative music player which uses folders to play music or audiobooks. Supports MP3, as well as (*IF* supported by your hardware), FLAC, WAV, AAC among others.
Play directories the same way you play individual audio tracks.
Longer Story:
Folder Player is a freeware which knows how to play whole directories. It can browse and play individual files, folders, or full folder trees.
Why another music player for Android?
There are many great mp3 players out there. If you're happy with them, you probably don't need another one. But chances are, you have the same problem as I had before I created this app - you tried many players, and your mp3 tag-based access to your music still too cumbersome, because your world defined - yes - by folders.
Is Folder Player a solution?
****************************
If you need advanced capabilities of a desktop player - Folder Player is probably not the right fit.
This player focuses on things that really are important: browsing and playing music on a portable device, and that's exactly what makes this app stand out.

I am starting with 3 stars, having just installed it and set it up to be useful. After a system update made my previous tolerable MP3 player non-functional, I spent 3 hours installing and quickly uninstalling 2 dozen players. There is a long list of things wrong with the other players: they can't find my add-on SD card (won't look in the right place); they ignore directory structure and either give me a soup of 400 folders (albums) in alphabetical order or give me a choice of 30 versions of "Track 1"; they don't allow A-Z alphabetical sorting (how can you *not* include that). They think black-on-black microprint is cool. Anyhow, it took me 2 minutes to install and set up, including knowing where my music is on startup; *it allows large type and high-contrast background!!* (visual problems). No ads. Every other program, I rate -6. I haven't had time to really use this, but I'll be back and will bump up the star count if the experience doesn't go suddenly bad. ___ I've now used it for a few months. A really nice feature is "where was I", given how easy it is to accidentally touch your phone and thereby get lost. There are some features that you just have to learn (pressing the play button on a folder is not the same as pressing the play button on the first file in a folder). Occasionally it just stops playing for no reason, and that could be phone specific, but you fire it up and it know where to re-start, I'd say the experience was good, and I'm willing to spend money on this.

This is how all music apps should be like, well done guys. The interesting thing is, even if the phone is locked, as long as you are playing your music on background, you dont need to put on the password but just press the unlock button and there you are, back on the app. Keep it up guys, your app deserve 5 stars of my ratings.

random behavior. will not always use directory set as home. just starts playing the first file it finds. not a commercial quality product. don't pay for this.

Pl provide option to change the tempo(speed) of the songs. This is what exactly I was searching for. Really small cute app. I didn't found equalizer. I didn't understood significance of play & delete mode

This music player does a good job of showing the music in a folder based on the file names, which I prefer so I can set up the order in which the songs we played based on their file names. The interface with my Bluetooth watch works great. But, I found the interface a little clunky, especially with the "where was I" button that comes up when I was playing a song from a different folder, which jumps us back to where the music that was playing is, but blocks part of the rest of the UI.

I went through a lot of players before I settled on this one. A simple but adequate music player. As it shows all the folders unlike other music apps it certainty gets my vote. Easy to use. Plays all my formats. Great player, really like it. No ads either.

I'm enraged I can only give it 5 stars, its beautiful. You wouldn't believe how awfull most music apps index your music even though the files are neatly indexed in folders, the last folder view I used removed the numbers from the file names then sorted them alphabetically causing them to play in the wrong order. I love this player its absolutely perfect : )~

I recently bought a car that supports Android Auto and I see the Folder Player icon, but I can't launch the app in Android Auto. Once it's launched, I seem to have "some" control though. What's the idea here?
