This game is pretty interesting. I really wish there wasn't the tetris style game. You have to do each level 3 times which is just redundant and slows down the game play. I wouldn't mind if there was a variety of mini games, or even half as many. I enjoy the storyline part of it which is why I will suffer through the useless games to collect stars.

The developer should be listening to the 2 common complaints running through both the positive and negative reviews. The 'fit the block' puzzles just are not for everyone. I didnt have a hard time with them, but when you have people telling you that the puzzles are too hard to continue or they would rather watch a commercial than solve your puzzles,you need to listen and offer an alternative option. I myself thought that it was a lot of cube puzzle solving which I did but got bored with.

This one's an odd mix. It's easy to navigate and play. The interface, characters and mysteries are compelling. But then the player is plunged into bizarre, glorified tetris disguised as "hacking." It completely shatters the immersion. That machanic may appeal to some, but I found it too confusing. Like playing a comedic mini game in the midst of a serious drama. I got as far as the pic of the sister. I'm not compelled to go further.

The cube game that you HAVE to play to unlock pertinent information to unlocking more of the story really takes away from the atmosphere of the core game. Sometimes after getting 3 texts from an NPC you're forced to complete an entire section that can make you completely forget that you're playing a text based game. I guess it's just another mobile game fishing for money.

A boring & ridiculously repetitive glorified tetrix game with just a chat bot messenger/text app type and very limited "choices". It also takes forever to pass the levels of tetrix like "puzzles" for a little bit more bot chatting to allegedly discover clues. It lacks substance, and there is no story nor graphics. Just shows how lazy the developers were, to not even try to engage or entertain players. Erased it the same day. If this is an "Editor's Pick", then the "Editors" sold out! It SUCKS!

Just another puzzle game with a lot of reading, and storyline is boring so far. Maybe it will get better as I go. I like the story of this game but there is 1 problem, why are the levels of internet so hard? You'll need a tetris professional to complete some levels lf it. And this game focuses more on the puzzels rather than the story. It would be nice if made the levels more easier :)

Way too much puzzles, it's one thing if they were easy, but the story line isn't THAT good to make me pay to beat the puzzles, just for the story. It might be a little different if you could watch ads for a heart, and watch ad for a bomb, paint, etc. But you have to beat 30 puzzles for one conversation...I mean....really? The question is, would you the developer wanna play 100 puzzles to say hi to your friend??? Lol, I didn't think so....enough said.

I've installed this game several times, only to uninstall it over and over again. Dev's put entirely too much emphasis on the mini-games, and they happen WAY too often. As the story line progresses they become difficult to the point of impossibility - def. feels like you're paying to win. If you're looking for something similar to this - only executed better, with a better storyline - try Duskwood. They really nailed it.

The game is merely okay. The storyline, graphics, even mini games leaves me a little frustrated. It's not terrible, but the stickler is only having a tiny part of the story revealed each time you finish 3 mini games. The mini games are extremely hard to beat, harder than any of the other 'texting' games that I've played in the past. The rate of progress within the game takes a long time to play out.

I want to finish this so bad because it is such a cool concept for a game and is naturally very interesting but like everyone is saying, the minigames become ridiculous. Its regularly impossible to beat them, and you only get 5 attempts every 2 and a half hours, which maybe isn't so bad if you literally come back to the app every 2.5 hrs but otherwise is extremely frustrating & tedious. I thought I'd be fine bc I dont mind repetition but this is getting thoroughly old.

I finally beat this game. It has taken several years to get through it all, i am not a huge fan of puzzles but it's a good game to play when you have a few minutes here and there to try to progress a lot further. I did really enjoy the story and the choices. I would reccomend it to someone interested in a little murder mystery and likes puzzles.

Great game, second time I've played it. I won't play again, but would love it if there was a second part to it. Deff needs more diverse mini games within it. It gets a bit tedious to do similar games over and over. However they are challenging. Great that you can play without purchase. Add lives by watching videos, no other advertising. But not necessary to watch as lives refill quickly. Took me about a week to complete. Game has some minor bugs, nothing too frustrating. Thanks developers

There is a neat concept buried underneath the pay-to-win, mind-numbing "core gameplay", and plain awful execution. I'm not sure who decided the main feature for a suspense mystery game should be endless luck-based block puzzle boards. The flow breaks the first time you're sent to "hack", and it becomes exhausting once your life starts getting drained by artificially difficult stages. I was hoping for something similar to Simulacra or Lifeline, but got a flat story and a Skinner box instead.

The Game is great! Just phenomenal thinking. Everything works perfect. But my only issue is the internet part. The mini game sucks actually. I got bored of not being able to collect data and stars. I would run out of hearts. The mini game can be improved. Maybe introduce more than one ways of collecting stars. Also there is like no income. I lost all my money. Two three coins from the mini game could not compensate for it. So yeah.. it sucks in the sense that i got boring and difficult.

the game is the very definition of a money grab. it requires no intellect and no skill. no matter how your conversations go, the story moves on. the algorithm of the game required to progress is deeply flawed and very unbalanced. frustrating to no end, and each level might take you days. but that's ok because you don't need it anyway since you can purchase coins and skip it altogether from the text screen. all you need to beat the game is coins, ie. cash. shame, because the story is awesome.

I downloaded this game and was excited to try it. When I clicked on it, right away it asks connect to my google account, I refused. At that point it froze my screen. I tried this twice and both times it froze. Obviously if I don't agree to connect to my google account it won't allow me to play. I uninstalled the game, I refuse to play any game that want to connect to my account or media files.

The game has a pretty creative way around the story line. The integration of calls and texts really makes the story come alive in your hands without coming off as hokey or contrived. But the game lacks confidence in itself. It fills space with highly repetitive mini game which ruins the immersive experience. The creators should just charge a higher price and get rid of the in app purchases altogether.

I like the originality of this game.. I took one star because I think it definitely needs to have more than one type of mini game. (You need to beat these mini levels or games in order for you to move on basically.. ex: your friend needs you to hack into a file to get information to help you. To get to that info, you play these mini games & can therefore move on) but it needs more diversity. Different kinds of games would be really great and keep players more engaged & excited for diff. levels

Not a fun game at all. The plot is really interesting and very immersive. But the puzzles are just boring and repetitive, and you spend more time "solving" them than playing the actual game. Of course you can always pay to bypass the puzzles and I believe that's why they are there, the minigames add nothing to the story.

Its free no disruptive ads there is ads but not enough to disturb the play. I wish far more developers thought like this. Watch a video or play a game to earn $ instead of real $. Downloaded a month ago. I was expecting to quickly finish the game but was surprised at the mini games' difficulty. If you play this game to finish it quickly, this game could be quite tedious; if you like puzzle games, play patiently. There are bugs, especially in number tiles with limited spaces and sometimes, using your coins are a must. Story was decent, I enjoyed playing through it although a bit of nuance might be great. Ending was a bit lacking for me but game was overall decent.

So far, I find there is too much focus on the repetitive puzzles. Also, I'm not sure if the dialogue responses are coded improperly or if the dialog is just really awkward and disjointed, but that could use some attention. Lastly, they are still working out bugs. Biggest complaint though is the puzzles-If they were three blocks instead of six, that would be enough for me to give it 4 stars

The puzzles are so annoying.they dont give you a tutorial,and after you fail a few times you can watch a ad to get a singular life back. If your someone who loves puzzles and solving mysteries, then this is the game for you. However, if you just want to play a detective game with not too many puzzles, then you might not want this one. This game is mostly about puzzle solving, and it doesn't give you very much reward. 1 star = 1 coin. 3 stars = 3 coins. The storyline can be very interesting and fun after you solve the puzzles. Unfortunately, it can get boring quickly if your not a puzzle person.

It's simply a puzzle game so far with having to play puzzles to progress the story making it not nearly as fun. I could understand if they had decided to make it that you could play puzzles for other things maybe to see what each line the person you're talking to would produce after you ask them or tell them something but this is really JUST a puzzle game.

I just got it about an hour ago and haven't been able to stop playing. I love it! I would give it 5 stars but some of the puzzles in the computer section of the game get really difficult and it makes you have to use your coins, and then you have to buy more to continue unfortunately. But it is pretty cheap, so definitely an awesome game. I definitely recommend!

This game is a ridiculous time suck and money pit. The story is great... but i find myself taking several days to unlock a single conversation thanks to the 'mini game' aspect. If the developers want us to spend money, make it worth our while. I shouldn't have to wait 24 hours to have to watch an ad to maybe get one coin.

The puzzles being difficult is part of the game yes, but if it's not the main feature and merely a mini game it shouldn't take away the focus from the storyline and therefore shouldn't be as difficult as it is. The longer, drawn out storyline makes it a little difficult to keep track of all the details and also kind of takes away from the storyline

I don't mind mini games at all, but these are exceedingly difficult, almost as if you need to spend $$$ to push past them. I find it pretty interesting that when you get everything just about solved in the mini puzzles with still 6 turns left but in those 6 turns the one blue square 🟦 you need just doesn't pop up. The storyline is pretty dull more or less and what little you get for how hard the puzzles are barely make it worthwhile. I am just killing time with this until the next Duskwood up

It's cool and fun at first but eventually you get to a point where you can't win the puzzles without paying real money. Despite your skill level, there will literally not be enough of the needed pieces or enough turns to complete certain objectives without paying for powerups or extra turns. I'd rather have to watch ads occasionally than pay real money for unwinnable puzzles.

So I get it. The developers want to earn money. Because Android users in general don't pay for apps, microtransactions are the best way to make money. That doesn't change the fact that the "hacking" game is a tedious, boring puzzle game that is obviously made to steer you toward purchasing coins to continue the story. The hacking game takes up so much time that this is more of a boring puzzle game than a mystery game.

2 stars for promising story and interesting idea for delivery. However, I agree with others that it's let down by the boring, repetitive and badly designed puzzle. After losing 9 consecutive lives in the 3rd part of the criminal archives puzzle as the game didn't give me enough small or blue pieces to meet the objectives I lost interest as any sense of being part of the unfolding story was lost. Clearly not the worst game ever but definitely the worst design choice I've come across

Glitch making the game unplayable after investing time into it! Frustrated! I was really enjoying the game too! I need additional stars to continue, however every time I start to work on a file (#8 or 9 is all I have available) the entire game crashes. When I return, I'm short a life and then the whole cycle begins again! Pointless to try to continue to waste time on this game while this glitch is here.... Sad

I gave this "free" game a try while I was in a hospital waiting room while my mom was having surgery. I was ripped off! I ordered two 110 coin packages, both of which were charged to my bank account, but they never materialized in the game. Should have known better. This is why I hate "free" mobile games. They suck you in and before you know it youre a hundred bucks deep. But at least most of them do give you what you pay for. This one didnt. Stay away!

The story is interesting and engaging, however one of the games massive pitfalls are the amount of times you have to play minigames in order to progress through the story. The constant spamming of repetitive minigames really takes away the immersion that the story has to offer, and make playing the game a chore after a while. I think that the game could be improved by adding more variety to the minigames, as well as making them occur less frequently.

I loved this game at first. Good mix of story and puzzles. I read the reviews that at some point it just gets impossible to solve. I thought the reviewers just weren't good at puzzle games. No. The creators make it impossible to solve without spending a TON of money. The overall theme is amazing, it causes the reader to feel excited for the next part. Though, in general a good game, there are a few claws. I rated 4 stars but changed it to 1 for the exact reason that the game revolves over this incredibly difficult and frustrating block game. Not only that, but there are "lives". Everytime you run out of turns in this block games you lose a life. Of course you can buy more lives with coins that you'll find run out rather quickly. The game is really fun! It has puzzles within the game and you can message characters within the game (with limited choices for things to say) and it is a really good time killer! The only things that I'd say that isn't greatest about the game are that coins are harder to get (either from completing a puzzle or from the daily spin) and then there is only 5 lives for you to use on puzzles and it takes hours for them to regenerate. The game is really good, fun to play and keeps you busy.

Too much effort for little reward...I, like the others, really like the story but the amount of time it takes to solve the mini-puzzles versus the amount of progress made afterwards doesn't make me anxious to get back to the game after my time is up. Sorry devs...I do like the game, but it does appear greedy.. perhaps giving a little bit more of the investigation after the mini-puzzles are solved will elicit a higher user rating in comparison with other games of the same type and genre.

I really liked the storyline. The messages and phone calls really made it realistic. Some interesting turn of events. I do feel that the experience was hindered by the block puzzles. The repetition and difficulty combined with waiting to restore the 5 lives makes the gameplay really jarring. To improve, make different, easier puzzles or increade the reward for each tier. Otherwise it gets frustrating and later boring.

Sometimes it'll be physically impossible for me to get the proper amount of squares broken in the limited amount of moves because I get a disproportionate amount of orange vs blues, and that's just plain stupid. This game has a very strange storyline, told through text messages. Except, in order to continue the story, you have to earn stars, by playing a game that gets old very quickly. And there's not any other option to gain stars, other than spending coins, but it's also hard to get coins! The mini game is not fun and repetitive. Each stage has 6 levels and you need to solve the same level for three times to pass through the stage. The developer made the game too difficult to solve. After solve the mini games, you will only get to know just a few conversation line of the story progress. It is like you endure a long commercial break and you get to watch the drama for 2 sec and they go for commercial break again. I am going to delete the game.

Interesting premise but like all freemium games it quickly becomes impossible to advance without spending real money. Most of your time will be spent on Tetris-like puzzles which are literally impossible to complete without hacks because you have to buy the pieces you need. I personally would always prefer to pay up front for a game than start getting gouged shortly after I get invested in it.
