Some good new features, but, at least one older feature does not work. Saving new recipes does not have the option to add to existing boards. Also, no way to add existing saves to new or existing boards. Update: After several months of use I am pleased to see my original concerns have been addressed. This app does what it was well known for and much more. It is rich with content and is a daily point of reference, whether it be for the meal-of-the-day or simple research for inspiration!

  2. Missloriv Jacob-avatar

    Missloriv Jacob

Need more advanced classes. After you responded with 'use the filter to find advanced classes', I feel compelled to relay that you only have 53 advanced classes. That's it. 53 recipes. You advertise that there are hundreds and hundreds. This is a food network app, there should be more than 53 recipes that an avid fan and at least medium advanced cook could use if we are paying a monthly subscription. Please add more advanced classes or this is just fluff. I don't need a chef showing me how to crush a garlic clove every recipe.

  3. Al Pasquinelli-avatar

I was really excited to download this app. I really love Food Network!. I can only give this app at this time a 2-star rating because I searched for keto friendly recipes, there are over thirty of them listed, but not one single recipe gives you the nutritional information which is required for the ketogenic diet since you have to keep track carbs and nutritional values. Please fix this!.

  4. K M-avatar

    K M

Just constructive feedback for developers because I want to love this app: I like the easy access to recipes, but the layout of the recipes isn't user friendly to me, maybe I'm odd; I use boards to save recipes, but the things I save disappear and I have to search again and try to remember what I saved, so that's useless; and why can't I print a recipe? I don't trust myself with my phone in the kitchen so I want a paper copy. Rework some of these things and the rating will certainly improve! :)

  5. Megan Gabris-avatar

    Megan Gabris

Overall, I like the app. I love that there's videos attached with the recipes however I've noticed on 3 different recipes the directions or ingredient amounts are missing. But if I go to the website directly they show up on those recipes. For example, the chocolate chip cookie recipe by Rae Drummond does not include an oven temp (on the app) but if I go to the website it is listed. Just a small annoyance because if I have to go the website anyway, why have the app?

  6. Candace Bice-avatar

    Candace Bice

This app is wonderful, there are lots of great instructors /chefs/cooks who are coaching & teaching pretty amazing recipes. There are plenty of time saving & helpful tips along the way as well. The best part, delicious eats when you're done. I mean, come on, reward myself with yummy food? Ok, I'm game! 😁 I'm more excited about cooking than ever before, which is impressive because I love to cook. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

  7. Rachael Thomas-avatar

    Rachael Thomas

I love the app because it allows me to see recipes from shows we've watched! That's a wonderful feature. I don't have the premium so I can't see the classes, but I'm sure they're wonderful. I wish I could filter the recipes a little more to sort through them by ingredients, but they do offer gluten free and dairy free choices! 🎉

  8. Sand Mountain Mama-avatar

    Sand Mountain Mama

Was very excited, was going to get the annual subscription but it was too difficult to sign up, nothing worked. If they made it too difficult to sign up and sign in, then it makes me think the app will be difficult to use. Update: i tried again because i really wanted the app. It said i had an acct, tried to sign in, it wouldnt let me, tried to set up different acct with a totally different email, i clicked create, nothing. Tried again, nothing. For such a professional network, the app sucks.

  9. Danielle Barnett-avatar

    Danielle Barnett

Love, love, LOVE this app!! I follow a keto lifestyle and can still find wonderful recipes to try. Love the fact that most recipes have video instructions, that there are videos of recipes done by my favorite Food Network celeb, and all at my fingertips... 😁 I would definitely recommend this app to my friends and family who enjoy cooking!

  10. Mark Brashear-avatar

    Mark Brashear

Can't use even though paid sub. When I try to view videos I'm asked to pay even though it's free for first 30 days. I try to subscribe and Google says I am... But it doesn't work. EDITED: I canceled subscription with google and then resubmitted and it now works. The app is pretty good. The videos load up right away. Changed my review rating.

  11. Nanette Moore-avatar

    Nanette Moore

Good overall. Love the recipies & shows on demand. Some glitches in the app, though. If I stream it on my Fire TV, the app crashes when trying to pull up any classes other than those on the main page. That, for me, is a major issue.

  12. Bella Doll-avatar

    Bella Doll

Love recipes a finger away!!! All I have to do to see new, easy, quick recipes is to touch the app to open it and look for the type of meat I want an tap it & I get tons of recipes to choose from. Some take more time but it's great for last minute, for something new, or for a dinner party.

  13. Diane Toner-avatar

    Diane Toner

It is so nice to have a "recipe book" in the palm of my hands. I love the classes and I love being able to categories all of my saved recipes. I find that I am cooking a lot more and I am also more confident in my cooking. Thanks Food Network for such a wonderful app 🥰

  14. Rhonda Hall-avatar

    Rhonda Hall

It's awesome to find the recipes that was on daily program while you're on the go .. on your break or lunch at work or in case you'd rather use the Food Network Kitchen App on your phone while doing your favorite recipes versus using your tablet, laptop, etc .. I really enjoy the App on my phone .. Thank you Food Network Kitchen for creating the App for the convenience of using it on your phone!

  15. niki-avatar

AHHHMAZING Recently became a homemaker... except he doesn't even trust me to cook eggs -_- Not only does this app have a plethora of recipes I can easily filter my search for, It has classes and shows too!!!You can easily save recipes, make lists and order ingredients You do have to suscribe for classes BUT it costs less than netflix and there thousands!!! I havent suscribed yet BUT i just got this app & plan to. SO WORTH IT!❤❤

  16. Sally Torgeson-avatar

    Sally Torgeson

Love the recipes Many I would like to try but the app keeps shutting down and I can't print them. I don't want to use my phone in the kitchen and having to keep finding the recipe again is a pain. I know you can send the ingredient list to your email, why not the directions?

  17. Ryanne Maiden-avatar

    Ryanne Maiden

I have never loved an app sooooooo much. I am a huge Food Network fan amd was very excited when this new app came out. Food Network is basically the only network EVER playing on my TV. I've learned how to cook so much better thanks to everyone on here and this app.

  18. Andrea Brown-avatar

    Andrea Brown

I do not like the new app. Its difficult to find recipes, even if you type in the name of the dish or the show's title it still does not show up. I am deleting it until it goes back to the old format which was a lot easier to navigate or a easier way to search for recipes.

  19. Gabbie-avatar

Downloaded this app, and I can't open it. I've tried installing and uninstalling it several times. I just keep seeing a yellowish/orange background with food network kitchen written in the middle, with no other options. Super fustrating cause I was really excited to download this app. Such a shame.

  20. Katie Rydberg-avatar

    Katie Rydberg

I am completely hooked on this app. Being able to watch my favorite chefs do what they do best, while being able to cook along with them, and ask questions. It is just the best! Great job food network!

  21. Scott Isenhart-avatar

    Scott Isenhart

I downloaded app below some online recipes as it leads one to think the recipes would be on the app. These recipes are for Autoimmune Protocol, a serious thing. Nope, no recipe, not one of the recipes online that suggested the app was available. What a great way to alienate someone quickly.

  22. Addie Allen-avatar

    Addie Allen

Easy access, I can pull up the recipe at the market and purchase what I need without writing down a lot on a paper list. I love my phone app. I rate this app access a 10.

  24. Shalonda Meaux-avatar

    Shalonda Meaux

I'm a visual person so I love the fact that majority of the over 8,000 recipes has videos to show you how to make the food. If you want to dive in a little deeper you can subscribe to the premium membership and have access to live cooking classes with some really awesome chefs.

  25. Tim Dermoss-avatar

    Tim Dermoss

Ads are plastered everywhere including tv channels. You don't have a right to annoy and pester individuals and also go criticism free. Here's an idea make the app actually usable and then we might like it. Developers do not have an inherent right to monetize anything. Hire less people and therefore needs are minimized. This is nothing more than a hobby turned data harvester. Say no to harassment.

  26. Everline Corney-avatar

    Everline Corney

I love it. I watch it everyday on television, now getting all these recipes, I think it's great.. I run out of ideas on what to cook, now i have plenty. And they tell you everything you need to have. Fantastic app.

  27. Alvaro Diony-avatar

  33. Jordan Robinson-avatar

    Jordan Robinson

App is very unresponsive and won't let me log in to my account. For me to even look at my information, I have to go to chrome, which is dumb. Whats the point of having the app if it just takes me to the web version?

  34. MomofLoonies Loomis-avatar

Love this app!! Mom of 4, this is one of my most used apps!! I love that I can not only search for recipes but also watch my favorite chefs cook that recipe in front of me, can pause, reverse, save it...Well worth the $40 a year! You are essentially getting a personal chef , some even Iron chefs, for $40 a year!! Love this. My family has reaped the benefits of my using this app, love that mommy can cook much better now!! Having 2 teenagers and then 5 year old twins, all help is appreciated!

I absolutely adore this app! I love the live classes the most; I just wish the big name chefs like Bobby Flay, Giada, Mark Murphy etc would do them more! Even though I am a self-professed die-hard Food Network addict, I did not realize I would love this app as much as I do. It's a great resource for learning new dishes as well as specific cooking techniques. The classes are also organized well and it makes finding things very easy. Try it!! It's very fun and easy and I'll even say addictive!!

If l could give less than 1 star l would. Every time food Network makes changed it goes downhill. If another cooking channel came about you would be in trouble. Miss the old website ease and convince. Miss food Network from 10 years ago. Will uninstall app for the last time.

Initially, I thought the application was delightful. It had so many terrific recipes to try. Then I found out that when you print them out, part of the last step is not included. So you basically have to have your phone available at all times...dough covered hands & all. I have not saved any, so I don't know whether the entire recipe is saved or not..

  67. Adam Miles-avatar

    Adam Miles

App used to be great. It was helpful, functional, and easy to use and navigate. Now its only use is to get money out if its users. They show you almost only their"premium content"that can only be unlocked by annual subscription, your saved recipes are hidden deep with in the app and are no longer just one tap away. It's a money scheme now. Its not good enough for you to pay for their channel through your they want more money to access the content on their app. Tasty will be my go to now.

AWESOME!!! I don't know why others have had problems, but I just downloaded, installed, and played my first "class." I LOVE IT!!! I've already enabled skill on Alexa Show, so I am ready to go!!! There are not a ton of classes from "celebrity chefs" at this time, but I am sure Food Network will be adding more and more of those! You have a 3-month free trial for the "subscription," so what do you have to lose? If you don't like it, cancel before your free-time runs out. I'll be renewing for sure!

Love the app and easy to look up recipes. I like being able to watch older shows from my favorite chefs. The three things i don't like is you cannot watch on computer. On fire tv you can't just get back to the start menu after watching a live show. You have to click back button a lot. If you miss a class it should available in library and i find it is not. I love content but they still need to work out some things. I think it is unbelievable you can't watch on computer.

I love the app n recipes but the only thing is the app takes a long time to come up at times n that's frustrating when i'm ready to cook.

I just watched Valerie B.'s promotion of the app and checked back to see if anything changed. The development team provided a kind note and the updates are just what I wanted. I understand that some people want a live connection, but I am glad I can have an option without charge for features that don't matter to me. Thank you for addressing my concerns, it is appreciated.

This new app is horrible. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING! There is no navigation anywhere to get to a Home screen, couldn't find any link to all my saved recipes? The graphics are way to big making it very difficult to read stuff because you are constantly scrolling. This was app 101 malpractice. The app does not seemed to be mobile optimized...I may have to delete the's no longer usable. I have never written an app review, ever, but this is so bad I was compelled to write this review.

Edited: After many tries I finally purchased the app despite many negative reviews. The app team quickly offered help. Original- I've been trying to purchase the app. I've tried over and over using email, facebook, and google. Every time I put in my email and password I get an invalid message or a button says error. I want the $29.95 cyber Monday special and can't get it. What's up? Who do I contact? I'll continue to try but I sure hope this isn't how the app usually works. This is frustrating.

I see where other people like this app on their android phone. It doesn't work for me as I have to swipe left & right to read everything. my screen is not big enough for me to read it all. At this point, I will be cancelling my subscription. When you put out a version for a PC laptop or mainframe let me know & I'll re-subscribe. Please cancel my subscription before my credit card is charged.

Used to love this app until "the change". The pay-for-premium version makes many recipes inaccessible; for those on a budget another fee per month (even with redirectional spending) makes this intangible, and dare I say makes one feel inferior somehow. This app along with the Food Network channel saved my life; I mean that literally. Is Food Network struggling so badly it needs to take the joy away? So long FN, it was good while it lasted.

    1. App on my android works great. I like the layout, can find recipes easily (new and saved), filter by chef/show. 5 stars. 2. Subscription plan, not cool. Some things are free now but I won't be surprised if it's phased out. By then I will move on. Minus 1 star 3. They had a black friday deal so decided to give it a try. Disappointed. I cant watch it on my big screen tv unless I do screen mirroring. Currently, not supported on smart tv roku. Minus star and reason to not renew unless changed.

Way too many commercials!! Can't find the cooking class I wanted to watch! It used to be so easy. You can't see what your typing in the search. I just typed "cooking" and a window appeared below, before I was able to type the word "class" to find Michael Symon's Tomato Baked Egg Class which starts at 6AM. No indication of East or West Coast time, either! Waste of time!

Nice, organized, easy to search for recipes. Nice for new discoveries, but a google search is just as easy to find a recipe. I would never pay for an app, and if I am going to watch a cooking class, I would want to watch on a bigger screen than my phone. What I am really looking for is an app that has a menu planning feature, which this does not.

This app was free to use... like you could watch your favorite chef cook and cook with them by stopping the video and ask automated questions. Like for example they are cutting an onion. You could hit the help button and it would say 'what you need help with?' Then bring up questions like 'how to properly cut an onion.' Or 'how to cut an onion with out crying.' NOW: You'll be luck to get the intro of a video. And that's nothing! You have to pay $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year! That ridiculous!!!!

I always find a good recipe to try and I love the added classes they have now. I learned how to make macarons! There are a few glitches with recipes that disappear from the right side of the screen when I'm on a particular chef, but if I touch the blank spot on the screen the recipe pops up. The reviews on each recipe are essential to recipe success because people will tell you how their's failed, so you won't make the same mistakes.

Disappointing experience with this new app. I was incredibly excited. It's not compatible to chromecast. I can't watch it on the big screen. The "live" videos are always on encore. I have yet to catch a real live video. Furthermore I've noticed the recipes are way too simple. Grilled cheese! Really. C'mon. The app should have options for advanced homecooks. Navigation with swiping right is not as comfortable as navigation scrolling up. Think "ig" navigation please. I want to like app!

After using this app for a while now, I am happy to say that I love all the great real time content available to me. The app I use on my fire stick is a bit clunky but then most of them are. The only real disappointment I have, is that Food Network has opted to NOT make many of their older shows available to watch. I have been watching food network for a very long time and was very excited with the prospect of watching some of the older shows again. Anne Burrell, "Secrets of a Restaurant Chef", and Mario Batali's, "Molto Mario", taught me everything I know about Italian cooking. The "Great Food Truck Race" and "The Next Food Network Star", are both staples at my house. Lest we forget, "Iron Chef America!" I would love to go back and binge some of that old stuff! Sadly, Food Network has kept all the good stuff for themselves. Maybe they will think better of it in the future and bring more classic content to their app.
