Reviews From google play store

Disappointing experience with this new app. I was incredibly excited. It's not compatible to chromecast. I can't watch it on the big screen. The "live" videos are always on encore. I have yet to catch a real live video. Furthermore I've noticed the recipes are way too simple. Grilled cheese! Really. C'mon. The app should have options for advanced homecooks. Navigation with swiping right is not as comfortable as navigation scrolling up. Think "ig" navigation please. I want to like app!

Edited: After many tries I finally purchased the app despite many negative reviews. The app team quickly offered help. Original- I've been trying to purchase the app. I've tried over and over using email, facebook, and google. Every time I put in my email and password I get an invalid message or a button says error. I want the $29.95 cyber Monday special and can't get it. What's up? Who do I contact? I'll continue to try but I sure hope this isn't how the app usually works. This is frustrating.

1. App on my android works great. I like the layout, can find recipes easily (new and saved), filter by chef/show. 5 stars. 2. Subscription plan, not cool. Some things are free now but I won't be surprised if it's phased out. By then I will move on. Minus 1 star 3. They had a black friday deal so decided to give it a try. Disappointed. I cant watch it on my big screen tv unless I do screen mirroring. Currently, not supported on smart tv roku. Minus star and reason to not renew unless changed.

Used to love this app until "the change". The pay-for-premium version makes many recipes inaccessible; for those on a budget another fee per month (even with redirectional spending) makes this intangible, and dare I say makes one feel inferior somehow. This app along with the Food Network channel saved my life; I mean that literally. Is Food Network struggling so badly it needs to take the joy away? So long FN, it was good while it lasted.

Initially, I thought the application was delightful. It had so many terrific recipes to try. Then I found out that when you print them out, part of the last step is not included. So you basically have to have your phone available at all times...dough covered hands & all. I have not saved any, so I don't know whether the entire recipe is saved or not..

This new app is horrible. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING! There is no navigation anywhere to get to a Home screen, couldn't find any link to all my saved recipes? The graphics are way to big making it very difficult to read stuff because you are constantly scrolling. This was app 101 malpractice. The app does not seemed to be mobile optimized...I may have to delete the's no longer usable. I have never written an app review, ever, but this is so bad I was compelled to write this review.

Another money grab by locking away the useful content behind yet another paywall. Food network has lost their way, used to be worth watching for the instructional programs now it is game shows with little to no value. The app just creates an atmosphere of the have and have-nots. The new food network class system.

Editing Review: I returned to the app in the morning, after receiving notification of comment. I can now view all recipes and options. I assume the issues last night were probably a glitch due to the number of people attempting to access the app during the infommercial for it. I will return and edit this review again after using the app further.

I type in one single filter, low carb, under recipes because they have no keto option. Within the first dozen recipes is a cookies recipe. The next dozen, 4 more high carb recipes. This is not an app for everyone. Heaven help if someone has an allergy or major dietary restrictions.

This used to be a great app for finding and managing recipes. Now, it's useless, just a giant ad for their subscription content. Even worse, the Food Network on TV is becoming an infomercial for the app and subscription content as well. Uninstalling.

I just started using this app. Had my first live cooking class today with Michael Symon. I have been a Food Network fan for a long time and found it so neat to cook along with someone that I am familiar with. I enjoyed it so much! It was like having my friend, who also happens to be a famous chef, right in the kitchen with me. Way to go Food Network! I love your app!

I was shocked to see that now I have to pay to access all the recipes! I even have cable with Food Network and thought surely I wouldn't have to pay. Over $40 to access recipes? No thank you. Save yourself the trouble and just head over to Pinterest.

Food network is great, I learn a lot and all your hosts are wounderful. On all the shows like holiday cookie championship, would be nice if they would describe what and what size tools like piping tips, what number or size they use. I love ❤ the Wars shows, cant wait for Holiday wars on Thursday. Keep up the great shows. HAPPY HOLIDAYS 🎄SHEILA CROWE 🦋🎁

I was so excited to try this app after seeing it advertised on the Food channel. But absolutely so disappointed that almost every recipe requires the premium subscription. I understand about the live classes but was hoping to see a few good recipe videos before deciding to purchase or not. Bummer!

It is really hard to find a basic recipe to try it is more about how to decorate than how to make things. If they were to add a filter for just some basic from scratch recipes it would make this app sooooo much better.

I liked the old app due to you can watch the full videos on how the recipes were made now they show very little or you have to pay to watch it. Its wrecked it for me. There are great recipes yes but i still like the old version better

I'm disappointed that the recipes can't be printed out...but besides that one tiny complaint I love this app and all the delicious recipes available! Update... It was user error, you CAN print the recipes out!! Love the app even more!

So slow to load anything. I don't see myself using it much, or paying for it. I have a free trial and saw there is a black Friday deal. I don't see any way to get the deal now. I'm not sure I want it at all, I'm SURE I'm not paying $48 for it as it is now.

Worthless. It's an app for recipes cooking nothing else. You couldn't make it simple you had to make it into a major science project it doesn't work. Thank goodness for Pinterest

Worked great when I first downloaded. Now it's just a blank screen and will not load anything! I've deleted and reinstalled.. Totally need a refund! Not happy at all!

Worthwhile, especially if you're a FN fan, plenty of amazing recipes, advice, and ideas. HOWEVER, the recent update significantly diminished the available features. Now, most of the content is locked behind a pay-to-play, premium members-only wall. I get alerts about great new recipes all the time, BUT when I open the app, I can only see a list of ingredients. If I want to see cooking instructions or a video, I have to pay for a premium membership. Really starting to feel like FN sold us out.

Badly made! Can't get it to print from app. When I do finally get it to at least TRY to email it to myself so I can print it, the ingredients never show up completely. NOT user friendly!

Great app. I have only used a couple of options so far but I live it! I only gave this a 4 star because it would be great if you could gift a yearly subscription to someone! :(

The older app was much more user friendly. Hard to find the chefs now, huge add covers half my screen the whole time I'm using it. Hate this upgrade and wont be using any longer.

Poorly designed . Trying to scroll down is a major peoblem. I was only able to view 6 cookie recipes and was never able to reset my password to get more offers.

I've had this app for a few years now and have always loved it. I just did the upgrade and now they want money!?! For shame foodnetwork! I will be uninstalling this app. I had recipes in my recipe box and can't access and you want me to pay for recipes I can just google and get for free. Greed will always be a your downfall.

Always a fan of Food Network, however I was really hoping that with this paid version they would have incorporated two important features: 1. a menu planner where you can save your meals for the week by day instead of hunting them down in the Saves. 2. A shopping list that you can use if you don't want to use instacart. I am disappointed that I still have to use two different apps for this purpose.

The old app was great, this one doesn't seem to work at all. Nothing loads, anything I try to select just becomes an eternal spinning wheel of nothing

The previous version of this app was so much better. I used to enjoy the daily recipe notifications but now they're only for the classes which you have to pay to get. I can't even just get into the app without it trying to shove a subscription down my throat. It may be free but their sales tactics are very annoying. Plus it's organized in such a way that makes navigation very difficult. Then they use generic responses for bad reviews saying I should be happy because it's free. All Recipes it is!

I kept getting a message that my reset (for my password I had forgotten) session had expired and to try again which I did 3 times!! And it still tells me my session has expired!

I think this app is wonderful its goes step by step so you can follow and write down notes if you need to but it great so join and start cooking wonderful meals enjoy!!!!!!!

Does not let you log in. First I tried with Facebook. It just kept reloading the page. Then I tried with my Food network login. Says password was wrong. I reset the password and it still says its wrong.

Used to be fantastic, absolutely hate the new update. Keeps notifying me of great sounding recipes, but they aren't there when you click on the notifications. And it now feels like a money grab, pushing premium content. Edited to add: I have turned the notifications off completely now. Only point to premium content. Too many free apps with great recipes and ideas out there. Here I come, Tasty!

I refer to food network kitchen for recipes weekly. I love being able to save recipes I want to try and recipes I have tried and loved!

Would have been five stars before this new update. Hate it, can't find recently aired recipes like I could before. The current season doesn't show up under show seasons list. It's not user friendly at all anymore. It's too busy, too much going on. Can't figure out how to save to my boards, don't even know where saves are going. Liked the previous simple to use app much better. You'll be losing this user. I'm SO DISAPPOINTED.

I loved your website, but the new update doesn't allow to see the same stuff without paying. Very disappointed. You cant go back to watch an episode on TV to get the recipe like it was before. Nor can you search just by bring up a chef for searching recipes again all blocked unless you pay. That was one of the reasons I loved the previous app. You should really go back to the other and create a new one for those that want all the new stuff.

What were they thinking? I watch Food Network for recipes, the new app doesn't even have the recipes that used to be there. I have been a faithful watcher and user for years and now they want to charge me for things advertisers paid for? I did a Google search for the last two recipes that Food Network didn't see fit to share and in seconds had several options. Update: I read other reviews and saw the spin of the marketers... guess what, the website has it is just a bad app...Fire Them.

Incomplete information on organizing recipe saves. Requested help, no response to date. 10/27/19 Thanks for your response. I have no problem clicking on the 'save' bookmark in upper right corner of a recipe, however, in doing so, an option does not appear to organize recipe in 'my boards'. Never had a problem with this in the old app version. 10/27/19 I just downloaded an update to the app and this problem has been solved. Thank you for taking the time to help.

Would be way better but I have yet to find out how to print recipes. Creating a shopping list is also not an option I have seen on the app.

You redid the app, lost my saved recipes. I tried sending an email about my recipes. My msg wouldn't submit. I was told to change my password, but the app wants my current one like I know what the hell it is. No place to click for forgot password, so I couldn't get signed in. No place to click on the app for saved recipes. Why was it changed when there was nothing wrong w it. I'll use Pinterest for my recipes. Uninstalling. Not worth my time and trouble. Good going food network. 🤬😡😠

Don't waste your time on what used to be a great app. It doesn't work. Can't scroll without app not responding EVERY TIME I use it. More than frustrated. I'm disappointed. I'm sad. Money, money, money. Now you have to buy what used to be free. More greed, less unction to the function. Sad. I already miss what was.

Bait and Switch... just when I was falling in love with the app and all the great recipes they got to find a way to charge you for recipes. The only reason why I downloaded the app was because the recipes for free and they were from celebrity chefs. Well now they want you to get a premium subscription and a person like me on a fixed income cannot afford it. That made me very dissatisfied. I guess I will go with either Allrecipes or Tasty app because right now those apps are still free.

Latest update (Oct 18) is awful. App used to be very user friendly but this is just a mess now....way too much stuff here when there is already another app to watch Food Network shows. Can't save recipes to boards anymore or even find recent shows or show currently on air. Guess I may have to go back to using the website instead of the app. Have not checked yet but hopefully that has not had an awful update as well.

The app is beginning to cooperate more and I'm getting more familiar of how it works. I can find my saved recipes now and depend on them.

Great Teaser :/ Requires premium subscription to access most content. Can't print recipe instructions or ingredients. Massively disappointing.

Loved the app before! Very hard to navigate now. I DVR most shows, so before I could go to the show and easily find the recipes that aired a few weeks ago that I was just now seeing. I just spent 10 minutes looking for a margarita recipe from The Kitchen that I never found. Wish I could uninstall the update!

Swiping is pretty bad. Some categories just went swipe I did pay for a year on the black Friday deal, but the app needs a lot of work.

It is not user friendly. I like the old app better. When shows aired, you would have access to recipes. Now you don't. Not a fan! Might uninstall!! It doesn't help if you tape the episode and are not able to see the recipes after the 24hrs. The recipes should remain available.

Now that you've switched the app I'm not a fan. Unless one is willing to upgrade to your new premium there is limited access to features that I used to enjoy. I will be uninstalling this app and not recommending it. I would have given 5 stars to the app before the changes that were made.

Works great. Login works in this app as opposed to others. Allows grouping of saved recipes.

Great Experience but couldn't find just cookies to make for the holidays, all desserts were kind of mixed together in Baking.

Too complicated. Can't even figure out how to get back to my saved recipes. Like the old app better

This was my favorite app. Now they want a subscription for "premium" services that used to be available for free. They got greedy, I haven't uninstalled it yet, but I regret it everytime I go on there for inspiration.

Love the food network!! Great app for learning new recipes and techniques!

Yuck!!!! Bring back the old version!!!! Might as well acess FN through a browser & delete the money grubbing app. SHAME ON YOU FOOD NETWOOK!!!!! I GUESS PAYING WATCH YOUR TV CHANNEL ISN'T ENOUGH!!!!!!!!! In response to the developer: Nope, not liking it...HATE IT!!! DELETING IT!!! GOOD THING IT IS FREE, NO FOODIE WOULD PAY $0.01 FOR IT!!!! B R I N G. B A C K. O L D E R V E R S I O N

Was very disappointed to subscribe only to find out the app can't be used on my Android TV and can't be used with Chromecast as of yet.

I used to be able to save a recipe to a board to organize them for easy access. On this new format, I can't figure out how to do that. It's also much more difficult to find a recipe from a show I just watched. Please go back to the old app. This one is frustrating to navigate.

I like to print recipes but can't on the app. Used to be my go too place for recipes but will need to look elsewhere :(

You can't enlarge the font size, makes the app unusable for me.

I dislike the new update. Please bring back the old one or tell me how to uninstall the new update. It is not user friendly. I watch Food Network daily and it's a shame this app requires payment for recipes to be viewed.

I've been watching a presentation and it came through very good and I learned a lot from this. Thank you. I enjoy the app.

I don't like this new version. Every time I try to view some thing it eithers freezes or the app stopps woking and also if I want to view a receipe it will not show the ingredients or directions. I miss getting dinner ideas from this app :( :( :( :(

Loved the older version. Not so much this new update. Sad to say but will uninstall due to the update 👎. It seems that is all about Guiada, bunch of pictures of her... No offense but I think Ree cooks way better. Maybe you guys should try to focus on all of your cheffs not just a few.

New version of the app is a significant step backwards. Almost unusable.

Recent update was NOT a free upgrade. No longer simple access to recent full episodes or Chefs. And past chefs seem to have been deleted. Even recipe format is cumbersome and of course now with unrelated ads in the basic version.

I want the old app back! The new update is more time consuming when all I wish to do is see my saved recipes. Plus, it has glitched the last few days when I try to use it. Very frustrating!

Use to be a decent free app. The newest update has most of the recipes locked out (90%) forcing you to purchase the premium version. The new layout isn't as convenient. Not worth keeping any more. Very disappointed !!!

Not happy with update yesterday. The app is no longer user friendly, I can't save to my boards or print recipes, and most functions require a paid subscription. Not cool at all Food Network - you will lose a lot of us for this!

Some good new features, but, at least one older feature does not work. Saving new recipes does not have the option to add to existing boards. Also, no way to add existing saves to new or existing boards.

You have to pay to get most of the recipes. Not good. Deceptive. I'm uninstalling immediately.

Love this app before the update, the new format is absolutely terrible! This is not user friendly, it is not easy to search by and I can only hope other users feel the same and it gets changed back.

October upgrade is a mess! The first page of the app sticks, you can't tell what's on now. The shows page is blank. Why can't these upgrades be debugged before you force them on us?

The live classes are the BEST. You can ask questions and see the chefs live.... It just seems more real. I think you get a better idea of what the chefs are like and you see what really happens while the cooking is happening. So fun!!!

was one of my favorite apps.. but now I have to pay every month to see recipes from my favorite shows? deleting it immediately, no use for it now.

GREAT APP. Can always find something to make without going to store.

The new app is terrible. Very difficult to find what you're seeing on TV. All it did was add several extra steps to do anything. Sucks bad. Go back to the other one. This is a downgrade.

You can't print the recipe from a mobile device and when you go to the website to print a recipe all you get is the ad for the app.

I loved this app before the upgrade. I can't search by chefs any more. It was much simpler to use before the upgrade. I will not use this app any more. Shame on you, please bring back the o.d version

Since you revamped the app it harder to find the shows recipes. And some recipes you can't get without paying. I've deleted the app no longer useful or fun to use.

Loved this app before. I record and watch shows later so the on tv now feature doesn't work. I try to search by show and that does not work well either.

Soooo frustrated! For years I've tried to login my account to be able to save recipes but I keep getting errors! Today I got "login identifier exists". I give up....guess I'll have to keep doing it old school & print recipes.

The most recent update makes maneuvering around the app harder than before. Very confusing and difficult to find things with the update.

Horrible update, it looks like a social media app with TONS of ads... What happened to the wonderful recipe and tv show app? Will uninstall at this time as it is now completely horrible and worthless to find easy meal ideas. Bad move Food Network

Loving the app. The live cooking classes are great.

Can't get pass the opening page. It won't work. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still won't work on the android tablet. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. Thank you.

I love the app. But I don't like the new update. I makes it harder to find things.

Installed app to get Carla's handy hint of grating frozen butter into a biscuit recipe. Wanted the biscuit recipe and this was to no avail. Also wanted recipes for other handy hint features. Disappointed.

This app was a wonderful until the last update. Used to have videos for recipes but now you have to pay for everything. Not impressed

Lots of tempting recipes to try, especially for a mediocre cook as myself!

Now that you have these live classes and episodes of shows, support for Google Chromecast would be GREAT!

I loved the old one you could save the recipe to your board this one you can't I have tried many times. I hate this one is not good to hard

I haven't yet watched any of the live lessons but why not any casting arrow as I use a camera device in my kitchen it a huge flaw. Please as a home chef it's extremely important to have this function in your application

Great app just need to pay attention when shopping. I added items to instacart for pickup, the recipe called for rosemary sprigs and when i looked at my cart it added arm and hammer fresh rosemary and lavender deoderant

Subscription special? I signed up yesterday for a monthly subscription after a free trial, now today you announced a black Friday special. How do I get that deal?

If your really want more people to enjoy your app then go back to the way it was. Must you always find a way to make a buck . . . Now it takes a act of God to find a recipe. you have taking all the pleasure out of using your app.

The old app was awesome!! This one is horrible!! I cannot find anything oh, it is much much less user-friendly than the old version!!

If you don't sign up, be sure the X out of the sign screen so you can still use the app, which I neglected to do.

Seems to me that now you have to pay a subscription fee to see recipes or anything else for that matter. No thanks! Hundreds of free sites out there......

The app and recipes are great. But the how to videos will not play. Doesn't matter which one it is. Very frustrating

Great experience, always wonderful recipes.
