KEY INNER RESOURCES FOR THE 21st CENTURY -Matthieu Ricard, humanitarian, Buddhist monk, bestselling author, photographer, scientist, and speaker at the Davos World Economic Forum and UN, combines and unifies two traditions: 21st century neuroscience with 25 centuries of the wisdom of mind training. It is an unique combination of wisdom, mindfulness and compassion to change yourself and the world.

Matthieu has prepared the Imagine Clarity Collection of concise, inspiring instructions for utilizing key inner resources for the 21st century. He has summarized the essence of each mind training technique so you can easily learn to make them a part of your everyday life. Matthieu urges us not to underestimate the capacity we have to transform our minds: the more we develop these inner qualities, the more inner space we have for wellbeing, resilience and sense of purpose.

What You Get:

- Learn&Practice: Learn about the most fundamental inner resources such as mindfulness, compassion and altruism with the help of concise instructions by Matthieu Ricard.

Matthieu urges us not to underestimate the capacity we have to transform our minds: the more we develop these inner qualities, the more inner space we have for wellbeing, resilience and sense of purpose.

Teaching Modules by Matthieu Ricard

- How to Meditate: Introduction to why and how to train your mind using different mindfulness and meditation techniques. Includes specific guidance on how to overcome the two main obstacles that can slow down your progress in mind training.

- Mindfulness, Meditation and Genuine Happiness: Introduction to mindfulness and different breathing techniques for training your attention and achieving a clear state of mind. Genuine happiness is explored as a cluster of key qualities, such as inner peace, altruism and strength of mind.

- Meditations on Altruism: Learn how to cultivate some of the most fundamental human qualities: altruism, loving-kindness, compassion and rejoicing. Matthieu makes a robust argument that altruism, the genuine concern for the well-being of others, could be the saving grace of the 21st century.

- Deeper Insight: Guidance on how to cultivate vipashyana, deeper insight into the nature of the mind and the world. Deep insight is acquired first by detailed analysis of consciousness and then through inner experience.

I wish the devs, would reconsider their pricing. It is prohibitively expensive. If you charged half of what you do and allowed users to pay this monthly you'd see a significant increase in your user base. The content is fantastic, I know Matthieu would want it to reach as many as possible. But, to me there's something almost elitist about the pricing. Which is a real shame. I don't believe content and app upkeep = the price nor the small % made as a donation. It doesn't add up. 🤷‍

TL;DR - 5/5 content, 3/5 app due to issues with usability. I found this app after reading Matthieu Ricard's great book "why meditate". At first, I tried to follow Matthieu's sessions. However, I didn't find them very useful because there wasn't much guidance and the video aspect is somewhat distracting. I have recently been listening to Charles Hastings' sessions which I feel are much more useful for me. However, the app crashes every time I unlock the screen after finishing a session which is very frustrating. EDIT: Bugs have been fixed on my device after the Feb 20 update (crashing after sessions and not being able to proceed). But, the recent change has made it (as far as I can tell) mandatory to have the screen on for audio-only recordings (e.g. Charles Hastings'), whereas before it was possible to turn off the screen and just listen to the guidance. This is really distracting - the point is to actually use these recordings as a guide for your practice, not to have your phone in front of you and stare at photos (no matter how beautiful they are) I suggest that it should be possible to listen to ANY session as audio-only, even the ones where there is an associated video.

Amazing all and the best teachings of any app I've used. Goes much deeper than most. Only comment is that it would be good to be able to save things for offline use. App has some latency when clicking through on menus. Should also make it clearer which lectures /talks you've listened to. Sometimes its not accurate. Shows all as played or skips onto next one sometimes. Keep up good work!

Very helpful during quarantine period. The meditation sessions by Alan Wallace are very very helpful. Please make all the videos and sessions downloadable on app and available offline. Also, if possible, if the sessions continue to play as audio when the screen is turned off, the app will be perfect.

Absolutely the best meditation app out there. I have tried a few and this one is the winer. The UX is simple and doesn't have any fancy features, although is well organized and has beautiful pictures, extra resources, and a helpful tracker/stats + timer. But what truly matters, the content, I just excellent. The people behind the scripts, structure, and narrative are serious mediators themselves with a profound understanding of the subject. The guided meditations go beyond the feel-good approach of other apps and provide insightful obstructions and sufficient explanation. I highly recommend it.
