Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms is an official Dungeons & Dragons idle strategy management game.

Idle Champions challenges players to assemble a party of Champions and master the art of Formation Strategy. Players unlock new heroes, upgrade them to reveal special abilities, and collect epic gear. The key to glory is learning how to combine Champion abilities to defeat an onslaught of powerful monsters.

Key Features:
Unlock Renowned Champions
Collect renowned Champions from the world of Dungeons & Dragons, including fan-favourites from the Force Grey series. Unlock more Champions and gear to add to your party in limited-time events.

Formation Strategy
Mastering the position of each Champion to maximize their special abilities is the key to completing each adventure. Each Champion's abilities and gear requires careful thought to create the best combination. Only the most powerful formations will defeat the waves of Dungeons & Dragons monsters.

Explore the Forgotten Realms
Take your Champions on a journey through the Sword Coast. Players will be able to explore familiar locations within the Forgotten Realms as they tackle each adventure. After launch, the game will be updated with content inspired by the official Dungeons & Dragons adventures, starting with a trip to Chult with the Tomb of Annihilation.

Regular Events
The game is updated regularly with limited-time events. Completing events unlocks new Champions and gear to add to the player's collection.

Note for phone users: This game is intended for tablet-sized screens. Due to recent changes in how some larger phones identify themselves we've opened it up to more phones. You may have some challenges navigating the game on smaller-sized screens. Please keep that in mind. We suggest playing the game on a tablet!

A Note About Premium Purchases:

- You can download and play Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms for free, however some premium in-game items can also be purchased for real money.

- Gems earned for free in-game by killing bosses and completing adventures can be redeemed in the in-game Shop for Silver and Gold Chests that contain equipment, potions, contracts, and gold. Gold Chests can be purchased for real money if you do not want to wait and save up gems for them.

- Silver Chests contain three cards of Common to Rare rarity. Silver Chests have a chance of dropping Rare equipment cards, but do not contain Epic equipment cards.*

- Gold Chests contain five cards of Uncommon to Epic rarity. Gold Chests always contain at least one Rare equipment card and have a chance of dropping Epic equipment cards.**

- Basic Silver and Gold Chests can drop equipment for all basic non-event Champions, including Hitch and Drizzt. They will not drop equipment for event Champions (for example Gromma, Krond, or Barrowin).

- Event and Promo Chests function the same as basic Silver and Gold Chests, however, they only drop equipment cards for specific Champions. Check the description in the in-game Shop to determine whose items they can drop.

- Guaranteed “Shiny” equipment cards are available as a reward for real money purchases, however, they also have a small chance of appearing in any Silver Chests or Gold Chests that you purchase for free.***

- Bonus “Golden Epic” equipment cards are generally only available as a purchase bonus for real money transactions, however, specific Golden Epic cards may become available through free means at Codename Entertainment's discretion.

- In-game purchases range from $2.99–$59.99 USD (or equivalent local currency) per item.

*** Chance of a Shiny equipment card in a Silver or Gold Chest is approximately 0.1% per chest.

Google Play Reviews

  1. Troy Crawford-avatar

One of the most satisfying gameplay experiences I've had in a long time on a tablet. No ads, clunky interface, great engagement, good management of expectations. The only complaint I have is that some of the flying distractions hide behind the banner boxes I can't dismiss, but that's reallly only a small annoyance.

  2. Mark Reno-avatar

It's fun. Problem is, once you have acquired all the heroes, you find only a few ever get used. This has proven to even include newly released champs immediately being outdated...because their special abilities/synergies are utterly outclassed by the only option (currently zorbu). In short, there are a LOT of really interesting mechanics and synergies available. But, if you want to make any major progress, you must have zorbu...because no other champ is even close.

  3. Kevin Bolger-avatar

I have thoroughly enjoyed this game for a while now until the last update which has essentially broken my game as I can't sign in with Google play. Reading recent reviews it seems this problem is relatively common at the moment so hopefully it will be resolved. Edit: After fantastic help and instructions from the support team I'm back in the game and enjoying it again. Very happy with the commitment by the apps support and Dev teams to get problems like this fixed speedily.

  4. t m-avatar

This game is not finished. I set down my phone for 3 mins and I lost an entire hour of progress. I don't recommend downloading this game until they finish making it. It was fun. Until it just takes away hours of progress.

  5. Erik X-avatar

Hangs at launch while attempting to connect to Google Play(?). Edit: It still has this issue on my Pixel2, but the devs seem to be trying to fix so I updated the review. Have not been able to play the game, but I hope a fix works out soon.

  6. Kevin Hillary-avatar

I will give the developers credit, they do read and respond to comments. Game seems to crash with Google play games but works locally. Interesting take on an idle game.

This has been hands down my favorite mobile game. I've enjoyed it immensely and keep coming back for more. Even if you aren't familiar with Dungeons and Dragons, I'd recommend this game as a solid casual experience.

  8. 3LeggedTom-avatar

This is a dumbed down idle player based on the D&D game of Forgotten Realms. Although I am pleased to finally fine a half decent video game like this, I am critical of several points such as the speed of the text boxes popping up & disappearing before I can read them. What's the rush? 2nd, I wanted to choose which characters to play with but you get what you get. Also, the layout & direction never changes, so after a while it gets kind of redundant & boring. Flesh out the plot more, thanks.

  9. Ryan Harrar-avatar

Cant connect to the server on my PS4, so came here to try it on my phone only to run into the same issue. Edit: issue resolved, thank you!

  10. justin wayson-avatar

Game can't get past first load screen so I can't play it. I left it for a solid 5 min try and load but nothing. Pixel 3

  11. chad gulick-avatar

fun game its a ginder though so if your not into it then its not going to be fun but i enjoy it not alot of paywalls only if you want very spacific charactersor items

  12. Matthew Pool-avatar

The game is great but still not built for mobile. Every now and then it would pop up a notification that I wasn't signed in to Google play games but closing and reopening it seemed to fix the problem... Until this last update. Now I can't play at all on my phone. Would love to keep playing but I guess I am done for now until this is fixed.

Can't even boot up game.... the progress bar for connecting to server Gets 1/4 of the way there and freezes

  14. Robert O'Dea-avatar

Sadly for those looking for multiplayer, from what I remember it's solo player with IAP progress.

  15. j- sin-avatar

No ads, real money optional but not necessary. Good game. A little hard to see values but it could be because I'm old too. I found this on console first and already had a bazillion hours into it. Now I get to do it all over again, gotta love it.

  16. Ian Sullivan-avatar

Great idle game. Has been crashing a LOT recently. Also minor glitches with single mobs not dying after a boss has been killed. You have to reset the level. Update: crashing more frequently than before... When you get up in the 200s and 300s (especially with faries) you will crash at some point and loose progress.

  17. David Parkes-avatar

I would go 5 stars, except for the fact in the last few days my game won't load at all. I'll go to open it only for the game to apparently be put in to the background & when i try to open it again it'll error itself & close altogether. Can anyone help?

  18. tyler kennedy-avatar

If I can just change the size of the text because it is way too small even for someone with good eyesight. Also, part of the hud is not usable due to the camera(s) on the front of my phone -_- not quite a fault on you guys, but just wanted to let you know.

  19. James Campbell-avatar

Unfortunately the last several updates have made the game slowly more and more unplayable. I am now no longer able to sign in with my Google play. And it wants me to start all over. Is gone from happening occasionally to after this most recent update never signing me in.

  20. Gavin H-avatar

Its an idle game so obviously its garbage. Its garbage with a DnD theme and a little tactical choice thats not quite as shallow as a puddle. Its also got an added level of tactical thinking trying to manage the massive memory leaks, huge battery usage. The only thing that prevents a 1 star review is the Dungeons and Dragons theme.

  21. Gaven Sietsema-avatar

While this game is just a typical idle clicker, the fact that it's made by Wizards of the Coast makes it more fun and recognizable. Plus it let's me support D&D, a game I love, using Google Play credits I get from surveys on Google Rewards.

Great game, fun, and a good pick if you need to.kill time

  23. warlord 2080-avatar

The problem with this game is the resolution of the game its extremely big. The words are very tiny, other than that it's a decent idle game with strategy involved

Love this game just wish I didn't have to pay for some of my favourite characters but this is awsome

  26. Tommy Taylor-avatar

On a samsung s8 and the only complaint I have is some menus can't be exited due to resolution issues. Otherwise a fantastic game with great progression!

  27. Adam Robinson-avatar

It can lag a bit but is a lot of fun for new and experienced D&D fans! I recommend turning off ui caching in the options, cures slot of lag.

  28. Doug Coughler-avatar

Great game, but like most idle games, it becomes a bit of a grind after a while.

Good game and had a problem they helped me real quick great game

  30. Steve Beauvais-avatar

Was a great game until it won't sign in to my play profile and now I lost all of my progress including the multiple characters I bought. Basically robbed me of $100USD.

  31. george m-avatar

Terrible. Ugly, ugly graphics and tiny tiny text. Looks like something a 13 yr old made. I expected a lot more. Uninstall. Obvious there are many fake reviews on here.

  32. Trying Gamer-avatar

I love the art and combat but the game keeps crashing on me.

  33. CJ Y-avatar

Please fix the UI on mobile. It's not sized well and most of the buttons are terribly small and makes it difficult to play.

  34. David Lipscomb-avatar

Everything on this game is so small. It's nearly impossible to play on the phone. Must be a tablet only game

  35. no-avatar

Gets stuck on "connecting to server"

Got stuck at the chest. It asked for a combination. If I have to go elsewhere to figure it out this early in the game then that is bad game design. This game sucks for phones anyway.

  37. Ryal C-avatar

Would be nice to try and play, but I can't even get past the load screen. Even after multiple reinstalls.

  38. JT G-avatar

Resolution is horrible. Text is way to small you cant even read it.

Does not adjust to screen size. Only playable on large size screens like tablets.

  40. Andrew Himbury-avatar

Cool game, but UI and font needs to be bigger

  41. Ryan Lawson-avatar

Love the Realms ... nice to see familiar faces and places

  42. Mystic Gaming-avatar

Screen resolution is so dang small. Can't even play the game.

  43. Ryan Barry-avatar

cool concept but the paywall and microtransactions ruin it

Really great, I'm a huge fan of R. A. Salvatore's work and some of his characters pop up in the game. Overall it's fairly addictive, but not so much so that I'm wasting all my time on it. I reccomend a tablet, I use my phone, but it can be done. The controls shrink considerably so if you have bad eyesight definitely use a tablet, or something with a larger screen. It's also a great game to show to others, some of my family has even hopped aboard the "Idle Champions" train

  45. Steve Smith-avatar

OK for a distraction but not that suited to tablet really as you need to leave it on all the time.

  46. Xerox Catalyst-avatar

Love this game, very easy to pick up and play aswell as the game continuing your progress while you aren't playing, only issue on mobile is the buttons are too tiny and the HUD takes up a little but too much of the screen for my taste, maybe patch in a feature that allows you to hit a button and gave them slide off the screen and back

  47. Brandon Selwyn-avatar

Nice variations of well known characters.

  48. Lazy Gamer-avatar

As of the brightswords event, they changed the drop rate for epic equips from EVENT gold chests. Now they are insisting that the pity timer is 10 chests which is the same as the standard gold chest. Couple that with the drop rate for Gold event chests which is a further four chests and you will have a hard time going purple equips. Greedy developer ruining a D&D franchise. Dont spend your time on this. Also, standard gold chests will more often than not give you the epic equip at the 10th chest.

  49. Jenn-avatar

Careful, it's addicting! A lot of people complain about the prices in the store but the game itself gives you ample chances to earn the good stuff, as well as chances to unlock past champions every couple weeks. It's definitely better on a tablet than a phone, but it's still a very fun game.

  50. Alex M-avatar

The game is fun but extremely buggy. If you get into this game expect constant crashes and frequent loss of progress. Annyoing and frustrating enough in the long term to make me not want to play at all. And don't expect much from customer service other than an "Oh I'm sorry that happened to you, it must be your fault. Have a nice day."

  51. Ryan H-avatar

I havent played on phone but i have on ps4. It is the best idle game ever and 90% of the time dosent feel like i need to quit for a day for something to build or happen (like most idle games). Highly addictive. In depth team building. Lots of content all the time for over 3 years. Highly recommend.

  52. Nomad T-avatar

Cant wait to see if they add side interactions in the game other then that its fun

Absolutely love this game. All of my favorite and not so favorite characters from the books I've read and others that I haven't gotten the chance to enjoy yet. If you're going to dump some time into a clicker-style game, you won't find better than this one.

  54. Spike Chuong-avatar

Love the game. I can't wait to get more of the companions of the hall, (including hopefullu Artimis, Athrogate, Dahlia, Grandmaster Kane?) or the Brimestone Angels gang? The Erivis Kale group would be cool too. Elminster!! Please, please?

  55. Duane Carey-avatar

Good D&D game to tap away to. Like the graphics and simplicity. Only i play on phone and its designed for tablet. Maybe you can update to new version.

  56. Brandon Klenck-avatar

Cool game, but I don't think the idle genre is for me. Small icons, so I believe it when it says developed with tablet as the target audience

  57. John-avatar

I enjoyed the game but it annoys me that I have to start all over again from the very beginning every time I start a new adventure, although it does make sense within the context of the game.

  58. Nicole Frame-avatar

Fun little stories and plenty of ways to get the charcters you want and their items. Can pay for stuff but you absolutely don't need to.

  59. Jasper Bloo-avatar

Strategic deep idle game No ads every fee click, play at yournown pace. Maybe not for smaller phones, but on my screen it is fine.

  60. Ty Stevens-avatar

It is a relatively good game. However, on Kindle Fire tablets it crashes frequently, usually when it updates for any event.

  61. jordan moore-avatar

This game is alot of fun, it has it's own unique twist on progression based games.

Would rate higher but bosses seem to stop taking damage completely after about 10 seconds! Don't seem to have any explanation for it so far!

  64. Andres Morera-avatar

As others have said, repetitive, uninteresting story, lots of grinding with no reward, progress of grinding resets every level, and its too small on a phone

  65. Will Jackson-avatar

A very enjoyable game that can clear your mind, and water your crops!

  66. Ashton Ring-avatar

It stays true to the D&D books and is a nicely made stradegy game, i cant wait to see what other characters you add and see the future changes.

  67. Sean Gravell-avatar

Really passes the time. Love dnd. Would recommend playing on tablet but not hard to get used to playing on mobile

Seems like a decent theme for an idle clicker but the UI buttons are way to small and have no option to increase size

  73. Mark L-avatar

Grind is too slow with no real feeling of progression. Always fails to update for days after a new patch.

I save up enough to unlock characters and when I do they don't load half the time.

  75. Necrolai Gram-avatar

Fun time killer, though quite difficult to play on a smartphone as every icon is almost invisibly tiny.

  76. Brian Hedge-avatar

Great game so far but like a lot of games out there prices in the store are little too expensive

  77. michael miller-avatar

Crashes frequently, and overall gameplay feels like a cash grab

  78. Lee Abbruzzese-avatar

I wanted this to be good especially when advertised on critical role... it fails to be fun

Often got reverted back a little bit if I ever left the page, even if I did a manual save, but today it reverted back 5 hours. I lost massive progress as well as bounties I had used. Extremely frustrating and not worth the time anymore. Uninstalled. :(

  88. William-avatar

Game not optimized at all for phones, even playing on samsung galaxy s10+. Game bugged out after 3rd level and no longer pulled up background terrain, and half the mobs were invisible. Cant let your phone screen turn off or you lose all progress so it's not really idle champions if I have to baby sit it every 30 seconds. Cant skip tutorial, no setting to turn off the tutorial boxes even. Cant recommend in it's current state. Glad I left before I spent any money on it.

  89. Keith Gunter-avatar

    Glorious D&D related experience

  90. Curtis Ross-avatar

Great game. Level your characters and walk away. Earn gold and favor, reset, wash rinse repeat. It isn't going to make you think, but it is a good idle game with my favorite forgotten realms characters.

Overall, this game is a time killer. No real gameplay other than clicking on things, and to me that's just kinda boring. The only reason it doesn't get one star is because I like the idea of the game, and the concept is good.

Played it for a couple days. Decently fun idler with some nice puzzle elements. Interface sucks for phone-sized screens but that's covered in the disclaimer. The real issue I have is that after playing the game for a couple days and making decent progress and ~5K Divine Favor (the prestige currency), I launched it and was prompted with a Google Play signin. After signing in and launching the game, all my progress was wiped and I was put back into the first-launch mandatory tutorial. All my Event bundles, characters, currency, gems... everything wiped out. No way I could find to restore it. Uninstalled immediately after that and won't be coming back.

Can't believe they used Minsc and Boo! Not sure if thats even legal, Seriously just forget this game and just go get the Baldurs Gate series and also the Icewind Dale series and also Torment! BG2 is my favorite game, always has been, it is right now, and always will be!

Simple. Love seeing my favorite legends in the game. But when i work for weeks building a party, playing idle a couple times each week, and then finish a mission and have to start all over again..... why should i waste to time and memory on my phone.. I downloaded the game because of a suggestion from the Critical Role team... i regret doing so....

Played for about an hour or two, and had the game crash about 4 times and had to restart around 10 times due to game issues.

The game will not start. I get the opening splash screen then nothing. I've tried multiple times and waited for over ten minutes. It just will not run.

Format not suitable for Samsung Note. Text in game is very small. Do not get if you want to be able to read any of the in game text.

Seemed like a fun game, but wasnt ment for phones. Play on a tablet if anything.

Not very fun. All you do is level up your characters and click on rodents and birds. Stages are almost all the same. The worst part is the clicking involved will hurt your thumbs.
