Reviews From google play store

So far it woks great. Only had this app a few days but I am happy with it. I can block numbers and report them as spam/robo. To me they are all spam, unsolicited calls. It doesn't matter what label is put on them they are all fraudulent, unsolicited spam. It's fantastic that this free app works so well. Update, this is one of the best free apps out there. Highly recommend

Works well for me, I use note 10 +...no issues, no hiccups. Easy 2 set up and use, below I answered don't know...i use it as a call screen for in identified calls it blocks and forces caller 2 hang up or identify then recalls you with the ID to which you can answer or not..very cool app.(some very simple, easy setup required). It is simple and to the point. Does what it says it does, and what is needed on a basic level in a free app. You can obviously upgrade for a more varied array of options for a small and reasonable subscription fee, just like most of the apps out there! Hiya - caller ID & Block was strongly recommended to me by a friend that has used it for a time already. Finally I am able to get away from my crazy stalkers repetitive and prolonged private phone call assults, that could last hours each day!

It took some getting used to, when I finally figured out how to set it up for different sounds other than my default notifications sound it's a lot better. There is several people that are not in my contacts such as doctor offices that wasn't able to send me a text to verify it was okay to let me accept the call, but it has saved me countless spam, telemarketing and general nuisance calls. Totally a great app to have.

Since Android 10: Completely useless. Doesn't reliably display any call information. Doesn't block calls. Uninstalled and reinstalled, makes little difference. Will not renew unless this is significantly fixed. Older updated review: Significant improvements to app and its stability. However, notifications are almost a bit spammy as of latest update. On the plus side, it catches about 90% of robo calls. Overall a good experience.

I used to LOVE this app back when it was free and I told people about it all the time. So much so that when they made you pay, I barely hesitated. I get SO many random calls and it was so nice to have them blocked. HOWEVER, in the last couple months or so, hardly any calls are being blocked. They're being marked as spam, telemarketer, robo calls, etc., and are still allowed through. It's incredibly annoying. If it isn't fixed soon, I'll have to delete Hiya and find something new.

I tried the trial and forgot to cancel, ended up subscribed for a year. This app does nothing. You get better results using Google. It hasn't identified a single number unless it is a major business. The numbers I actually want identified has no information. This is useless. DO NOT GET THIS USELESS APP! DOES NOT WORK, USES WEB SEARCHED RESULTS. I still have it waiting to see if it ever changes.

Used to be great but it has gone downhill. Features that were free are now only in the paid version. I'm reluctant to upgrade as it doesn't work like it used to. Blocking rarely works, yet it routinely claims it has blocked calls that got thru. "Ignore saved contacts" option doesn't work. Several years ago customer support said that would be fixed in the next update. It's still not fixed. It is good for flagging spam & giving info on other users' experience with a particular caller.

This is just great. I got about 3 RoboCalls a day. I had to do something. My co-worker said she uses the app and how great it is. She was right. Nothing, other than what I want, comes through. It identifies the origin of the call and stops it from coming through. I have checked Hiya has stopped a call from Jamaica and several from India. These are more than likely scammer calls as I don't know anyone in Jamaica or India.

Great app guys! I thought i was going crrazy!/This has been going on for a very long time! In fact im pretty sure there hacked into the Social Security data base.medicare and medicad.Have even sent phony paperwork from these places.! And lots of call pretending to be agents!/! I highly recomend app! Along with a spell checker??/Thanks!/And when i get afew extra bucks i will update. Thanks

requires following permissions on your android device.

precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine where you are, and may consume additional battery power.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

view Wi-Fi connections
Allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.

directly call phone numbers
Allows the app to call phone numbers without your intervention. This may result in unexpected charges or calls. Note that this doesn't allow the app to call emergency numbers. Malicious apps may cost you money by making calls without your confirmation.

connect and disconnect from Wi-Fi
Allows the app to connect to and disconnect from Wi-Fi access points and to make changes to device configuration for Wi-Fi networks.

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

reroute outgoing calls
Allows the app to process outgoing calls and change the number to be dialed. This permission allows the app to monitor, redirect, or prevent outgoing calls.

read call log
Allows the app to read your phone's call log, including data about incoming and outgoing calls. This permission allows apps to save your call log data, and malicious apps may share call log data without your knowledge.

read your contacts
Allows the app to read data about your contacts stored on your phone, including the frequency with which you've called, emailed, or communicated in other ways with specific individuals. This permission allows apps to save your contact data, and malicious apps may share contact data without your knowledge.

read phone state
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

read your text messages (SMS or MMS)
Allows the app to read SMS messages stored on your phone or SIM card. This allows the app to read all SMS messages, regardless of content or confidentiality.

run at startup
Allows the app to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the phone and allow the app to slow down the overall phone by always running.

receive text messages (SMS)
Allows the app to receive and process SMS messages. This means the app could monitor or delete messages sent to your device without showing them to you.

send SMS messages
Allows the app to send SMS messages. This may result in unexpected charges. Malicious apps may cost you money by sending messages without your confirmation.

draw over other apps
Allows the app to draw on top of other applications or parts of the user interface. They may interfere with your use of the interface in any application, or change what you think you are seeing in other applications.

prevent phone from sleeping
Allows the app to prevent the phone from going to sleep.

In-App billing
In-app Billing on Google Play provides a straightforward, simple interface for sending In-app Billing requests and managing In-app Billing transactions using Google Play.

receive data from Internet
Allows apps to accept cloud to device messages sent by the app's service. Using this service will incur data usage. Malicious apps could cause excess data usage.
