Hive is a board game from John Yianni with a difference. There is no board! The pieces are added to the playing area thus creating the board. As more and more pieces are added the game becomes a fight to see who can be the first to capture the opposing Queen Bee. The soldier ants battle to keep control of the outside of the hive, whilst the Beetles climb up to dominate the top. Spiders moving into holding positions as the Grass Hoppers jump in for the kill. Keeping one eye on the hive and the other on your opponents reserves, the tension builds as one wrong move will see your Queen Bee quickly engulfed... game over! The main features of this application are: -Ability to play against Artificial Intelligence with 6 Computer levels. The expert level is really challenging and only advanced players should be able to beat it. -Online mode shared with https://en.boardgamearena.com (the largest boardgame table in the world!). Great implementation of the board game, very useful tools, good AI, connects to BGA offering a much better user interface imo. People complaining about having to pay for expansions, are you for real? Have you heard of the concept of people getting rewarded for their hard work? Consider yourself lucky the basic version is free with no ads. Damn snowflake generation used to get everything handed over by mommy and daddy 🤦

The AI isn't great, but you'll still lose if you aren't paying attention. The app feeds the bug for me. I haven't played other players yet but intend to soon.

So far it's pretty good. I'm a little disappointed that I have to pay for the expansion pieces. I feel as though the beginner and easy modes are too easy, and the medium difficulty is a little too hard so far. Its not a terrible thing tho, like anything practice, practice, practice. It's a great way to learn strategies to implement when playing real people and the AI in the app. Graphics are as good as they need to be I guess. I think the explanation of the rules are well done on the app also.

The AI is decent, pretty intuitive, but sometimes a little finicky. BGA as the multiplayer backbone is completely unintuitive, but that's a BGA problem, not a Hive problem. The expansions are overpriced. Should be a dollar each or at least have a discounted PLM complete option. Not sure if there is two-player. If there is, I can't find it. If there isn't, that makes no sense.
