Almost one year after I've reviewed this app (12/17/20), nothing's really changed. And with HIDIVE gone from VRV, the user interface NEEDS an update, as it's the worst part of the app. The content's good, I love what HIDIVE has to offer, especially since it's hard to beat for $4.99, but the app is really clunky, especially when compared to other services. Even missing vital features other services have. I think it really needs a major overhaul, to benefit both the customer and the service.

While the UI is not as clean as Vrv it seems fine once you get used to it. I don't like how everyone wants to have they main site with all the subscribers I understand why I just don't like it. Bit give it time and you can get used to the app. I would like an update to just add shows to my queue or watch list by only clicking 1 button instead of 3. But that just wish full thinking.

While not the worst UI I've ever seen the video player leads much to be desired, easy to pause, 10 second rewind and fast forward are pretty much universal across all streaming apps except this one and they need to fix that. Will give more stars once these get implemented.

Right off the bat, the app feels pretty much bare-bones in terms of the user interface. There is no place to save preferences for how you want shows to play by default. In fact, there is no settings tab at all in the menu. I think that it was a bad decision by HIDIVE to end their partnership with VRV. They aren't putting enough focus on user experience and accessibility. They spent it all on looks. (also going to mention that navigating the app on a console is a nightmare. compared to VRV.)

5 stars for selection. However the app just plain sucks. Really needs to be a default language and subtitle selector, a next episode button, and the ability to stream in your chosen quality (especially for those of us on slow internet that fluctuates in speed).

The selection of anime is a bit hard to get to and the video player is honestly very basic. It feels like they didnt care about the app and they dont update it to a better standard.

The app is nearly perfect, I gave it 4 stars because it's not possible to set any preferences. On every episode, I have to change the language. It gets annoying when I'm binge watching.
Adam Is The Worst
App keeps failing, won't track for continue watching, loses playback constantly. Won't play subtitles and pops up notifications about needing premium to view dubs (I have premium and don't watch in dubs) overall broken service.
Project Burn
This is stupid. The only reason I joined VRV was for HiDive and without warning, 75% of my Watch Next queue was wiped out. So now I'm paying extra for CR and have to pay even more to get this again?! That's just dirty. If HiDive wasn't the only streaming site w certain anime I enjoy, I'd actively boycott for how they gave NO notice, thus took my money and now demand more to get what I already paid for back. FYI, this is why pirating becomes viable. Stop hurting the consumer.

Buggy, no next episode button, pause button is far too small, rarely resumes from the right episode, all together terrible. Only reason I got it is because VRV is losing HiDive, this app makes me want to cancel before the trial ends.
