Im getting so frustrated with this app to the point where I dont want to do another year subscription. Over the last few weeks there has been so many issue and bugs. (The meditation just stops halfway through and says error. And the UI is difficult to navigate.) But of course, right before I go to bed it just give me a blank white screen. So I closed the app and waited a second and reopened it just for it to kick me out of my account. I cant find the pricing for students. Did they take it away?

app Unbelievably good. So underrated. I can't recommend the premium version enough. This app is so beneficial for improving your mood and letting go of what's bothering you deep inside. The different courses and the music and the monthly check ins, it all works. It's incredible, really. A lot of one star reviews because they downgraded the free version, but that's really unfair to the product. This is well worth the money.

itunes I used this app for almost 2 years, but in the past 6 months have been getting really frustrated with it. First, the push notifications. I turned off push notifications within the app, but it still gives me daily frivelous push notifications, which do not help me. Second, I've had more trouble loading the app lately, where it randomly kicks me out. Third, the content us not worth the price tag for me anymore. Enjoyed it at the beginning, but will not be renewing.

app store I downloaded it hoping it would help with my anxiety and helping my calm my mind, but as soon as I opened the app I found that I couldnt do anything without paying. Out of the many courses on this app there was maybe one or two the were free, everything else was paid. I understand making some things premium content, but at this point you may as well just make us pay for the app instead of a subscription service, if all of the content on your "free app" is required to have a monthly subscription

  5. egroeG-avatar

headspace meditation sleep youtube I used this app for more than a year. I use the free, didn't paid for it as long as all those practice you can find on web, for free, and besides, Basic 1 is on repeat all the chapters. Before, when started a session, there was a short video of explanation. Not anymore.. And I think the monthly/annual price is a little too high for the app. At some point, I really wanted to subscribe. Also you put the body exercises in an app called Headspace? Keep it up, but not on my money, sorry.

headspace meditation and sleep aid It works out to 24c a day. Not a big price to pay for peace of mind. Was recommended to me by my GP recently. I tried headspace many years ago. I'm so impressed with how far this app has come. The interface is so asthetically pleasing and the characters give this app more heart than others I've seen. The way the graphics and noises play is so playful and soothing. It makes me excited to meditate. I can't wait to see my results over time.

apk Headspace is a decent app. The meditations are good, but the app lacks features, such as a dark mode (the current white background strains my eyes even during the day), the ability to favorite/like certain meditations, and widgets for easy home screen access to my favorite meditations. If not for my annual subscription, I would prefer to switch to an app that has these features.

download Good app, but practically impossible to link a family member. Should be a lot more easy in this day and age or stop advertising it's easy. Multiple instructions at different places. Unable to login through the computer, unable to unlink Facebook. The development has major issues that need to be fixed. Won't recommend if you want to bring in family. It's not designed for that. And please don't reply with a generic " I'm so sorry" and all that please.

apple Only for premium users anymore. This used to be a good app that offered meditations for free as well as paid content but now you cannot dven do a single meditation anymore without paying upfront. Edit: the problem is that you have to subscribe upfront and actively cancel the subscription during the free trial or else you'll have to regularly pay for the app. And if you dont have enough money for the full monthly/annual fees, you cant even do the free trial

  10. Steven Kell-avatar

sleep meditation headspace The meditations are helpful, but when I open the app and the first thing I see is about woke activism, it makes me not look forward to meditating. I canceled automatic renewal and was ensured I would have access to all the content until the current billing cycle ends (my annual subscription ends next August), but now I don't have access to the meditation courses after I paid $96 for them. Absolute garbage customer service.

Earlier experience was better but in new update i noticed that some techniques and guidance and many other things in app went under subacription lock which i neither like nor understand. I know that change is evitable and all that, but too much of it and you are ruined. I dont like new interface either not user freindly nor its navigation are clear. So sad to see such an app going to such a waste in such a short time. Be clear what could you give complementary for lifetime for once in your app !

  12. Jean Haley-avatar

It was really good to start doing meditation. I even got the premium version and pay monthly. But lately some of the timers just stopped during the meditation while the screen is off which really pissed me off because I never know if it stopped running until I realized what happen and had to unlock the phone to find out I had been meditating for 40 minutes but the session is still at 4 minutes. There is no way to rewind or skip the audio to start over so I just close the app most of the time.

  13. The5ixx-avatar

I liked the app before the last major update. I don't think it was necessary for function, but it includes that stuff, that was free before is now for premium users only. If you are not a premium user, this app has become utterly useless, because you can't even acess one single thing from every catergory. It frustrates me and that is clearly not the point. I don't feel like paying for something I used to get for free before the update. Very sad.

  14. Tricia Oleson-avatar

    Tricia Oleson

This used to be a great app. Each update makes it harder and harder to find things. The organization of the app is horrible, messy, confusing, and not user friendly. Most of the good content (original stuff) gets lost behind all these banners, play now videos and additional click bate. I spend so much time searching and getting lost. When did meditation become workout sessions? I miss the layout from before Headspace became a sell-out, back when it was just Andy and fun characters.

  15. Nicole Dotlich-avatar

I got Headspace through a promotion with my job. I liked the option to try it out for free for a while. However, I think I'll be sticking with Calm after this trial is done. At least I never had an issue in Calm with a "Soundscape" having unwanted background noise (Rain on Canvas has at least two instances of dogs barking in the background for example) and there's no way to report this kind of thing either. I, also, am not a huge fan of the interface compared to Calm.

  16. Off Road Trip-avatar

    Off Road Trip

Very effective at helping you find some "headspace" and just a short break away from day to day stress. Really happy with how relaxing the sleep exercises are. My only complaint would be the need for more sleepcasts. Don't get me wrong there are a number of them but there could be a few more. Also, would like to see an option for the ambient sound to continue long after the cast is finished and the option to select the wind down. You guys are awesome.

  17. Angel.-avatar

The app is good, it has the whole package to start meditation in a good way, without so much complications. But it has one, little big problem, when i start a new session, i can't see the history, it just pass automatically, so, sometimes in the meditation they talk about the video that they have put in the history, and that, is really annoying because i can't fix it. Just, take care about that, please.

  18. Emili-Frederikke Rudbeck-avatar

    Emili-Frederikke Rudbeck

Far too much choice and no way to personalise the experience.. You cant even favourite sessions. Maybe it's just me, but scrolling through an overwhelming amount of content with very little differences doesn't seem very mindful. With the constant push notification adverts and a pretty expensive membership, it seems this company kinda lost its way

  19. Elizabeth Anderson-avatar

Headspace has been one of my favorite apps for meditation because of all the app offers, when I'm having issues sleeping the group meditation sessions really come in handy, and the night therapy stories are truly awesome and super appreciated, they help calm me down and at times put me right to sleep. I really thank the headspace team as well for offering this app to everyone that has been impacted by covid19, it really helps you deal with the daily stress of our current new norm. Thanks again

The free version really helped me getting started with meditation, better than Calm or Wake Up. I'm using the upgraded version now, and I love all the courses, I'm doing "Appreciation", "Happiness", "Controling Anxiety", "Transforming Anger", and I embarked on the "Headspace 365" challenge. The short videos are very explanatory. Overall it's the best meditation app I've used, and when I had a customer support issue, they solved it on the same day. I definitely recommend this app.

This will be my last review after being a user and subscriber since 2018. This app is now so bloated and full of features I don't want or need. It just keeps growing and further diluting its focus. Give me something in the range of $5-10/mo, keep it lean and focused... and keep celebrities out of it.

  22. Vicki-avatar

I rely on the soundscapes to help me sleep because I find it very hard to wind down without it, but it's not worth £45. I've been subscribed for a year and had a few technical problems with it, where the app kept crashing, logging me out, or just not even loading even though I had wifi/mobile data on.

Wonderful. Great for experienced and beginner meditators. Great educational value as well. Love how it was created by a former monk. The monthly price is well worth it. I use the app to meditate, educate myself on different techniques, and utilize sleepcasts. The app is multi-faceted and can be used for many people looking to aid their mind, spirit in body in a variety of ways. The sleepcasts always always always put me to sleep.

Deeply saddened and disappointed while writing this. 1. I recently updated headspace probably after a year. The UI is all messy and not at all user friendly. It's distracting and i regret that i even updated. 2. Meditation pauses itself after a little while and it's quite disturbing. This is despite allowing background activity on. 3. I like to put me phone on airplanes mode while meditating but the app don't even load. 4. Even with a good internet connection it takes forever to load. Limt rchd

Hi please let me know how do I deactivate the service. I can't from the app. It shows first I have to deactivate my google pay subscription. Subscription shows nothing is active. I don't want to be charged for the next year again. I have written quite a few times to headspace help to no effect. Please urgently look into it.

I'd prefer to see some ads in banner form just to get more free content. Currently they have less free courses than before. It's a pity. A great idea but a bad performance. Not everyone can afford paying subscriptions for everything. I know developers and the person who created this idea want to earn money, and that's why I suggest them to include ads.

I subscribed for a 14days trial and canceled my subscription after 5 days, however I was charged for the entire year, no refund apparently. Not cool, at least don't advertise it as a 14 days trial, that means you could use it for free during those 14 days. Well, not in my case... Dissatisfied and disappointed!

  28. Norwegemm-avatar

Terrible. I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. Let me start out on the ad. I absolutely loath the noise of phones buzzing, so much that I keep every device I have on silent. So when I'm trying to listen to music and draw and I get the most irritating ad of a phone buzzing, and I naturally get distracted, which is the exact opposite of what it's trying to do, I go and delete two hours of work. I caved in to see how bad it was and oh boy is it. The app is terrible, fullstop. Save your time.

Please give your users control over playback. I sometimes miss parts of the sleep stories but have no way to rewind without restarting the entire story. Edit: Explore tab is gone with new update so I'm updating this. I want to be able to browse meditations until I find one that I like. Currently, the courses and singles are just listed alphabetically. Lots of scrolling. The categories you used in the past were great at breaking that down. Please organize your content better.

I love this app but it does have a tendency to just kick you out. This is frustrating when you are meditating because you don't always know it's stopped working until you suddenly think there hasn't been any input from the instructor for a while! Not what you want when you are trying to be calm! My sister has the same issue and we have different phones so we know it's not that! But otherwise some great tools and my sleep has improved using the sleep podcasts.

The only thing I find annoying is the visualization technique, its alway some form of 'imagine sunlight filling your body and keep that warm feeling in mind' I dont understand why this is the only visulization. Ive been using this app for about 4months and Ive noticed that this technique is always in a 30day course, it never does anything, Im pretty certain its possible to create a new visulization. Other than that its really good.

This app has given me a window into my life that I previously could not enter. Meditation has changed my life for the better! I have tried other meditation apps, but headspace feels just smooth and polished, plus the additional updates. The wake-up, move and focus are excellent tools! THANK YOU HEADSPACE ❤️

  33. Rachel Modi-avatar

I love this app but I've previously requested Headspace to allow me to play a meditation session while Spotify is playing in the background. That changed was applied, but this new updated reverted it back to not allowing me to play both app at the same time. I live in a noisy environment, so while I fall asleep with Headspace, I also used to sleep with white noise on Spotify, so when a sleep cast is over, I don't wake up throughout the night. I can't do that anymore w the new update!! Please fix

I love Headspace. My friends gifted me a year's subscription after a 60-day trial and I'm so grateful. I use it every day to meditate, love watching The Wake Up and have recently explored the Move section for short work-outs during my lunch break or when I need a pick me up. There are so many elements to this app and a 4 week fitness programme on top of meditation courses, advice, videos and sleepcasts make it so worth the price. It can be glitchy but I forgive them when it's so well designed.

I got this app a couple months ago and i wasnt pleased that there is very little free content. After not being on it for a while i returned and found that now there is even less free content then there was before. I realize the app needs to make money but really? At first i thought i found an app that actually cares about it's users, but come to find out all they care about is profiting off of stressed people that can't sleep or relax. Absolutely disapointing.

This is a great app for learning meditation and before doing the last session I would have given 5 starts BUT! Update: add was not in basics 2 as I hop back on the train, so uped to 4 stars. The add was still a bummer though, like I have paid upwards of 300 dollars for this app over the years, bc It gunuinly helps me navigate life. In the meditation session was an add to subscribe, I am literally in the app paying for it ! D': WHY!!!!! ?????? Also bring back the my courses frature.

I really like the simplicity and aesthetics of this app but there are some bugs. The option to download meditations to listen offline is a fantastic idea but I discovered that the app actually needs an internet connection to load the homescreen in order to retrieve the downloads so it defeats the purpose. Unfortunately the app occassionally crashes which is a pain. I'd prefer a way of sharing this feedback within the app but I don't see any private message/chat options.

Got headspace bundled with Spotify subscription. None of the soundscapes work and the other playlists don't work, I get an error when trying to play them, even if they are downloaded before I try. The videos and main meditation files seem to work so far. Not really sure how to get the rest working, Spotify doesn't give any indication of what kind of headspace subscription you get but at the moment it seems about as much as the free version.

PLEASE UPDATE THE INSTRUCTIONS IN GOOGLE HOME. ITS ANNOYING! Widget with Google home is good but the introduction is too long. It says the same thing everytime you connect. Its too annoying. Just ask that we are connected what would you like to do? Also cant change the volume on google home between meditation.

This app is at first absolutely fabulous. The groovy style to all the little characters that help you get through meditations and podcasts with a soothing voice narrating is very nice. My past experiences all ended with me uninstalling the app, then reinstalling the app afterwards so I could use the free trail. I'm 13 years old so I don't really want to be asking my parents to pay for this app because I'd prefer something like minecraft lol. This app is truly great but sadly you do need to pay.

I am so disappointed, I really loved using headspace, there were a few free bedtime stories amongst other sleep aids, my favourite to listen to was midnight launderette.. However, when I logged on tonight I've found that there's only one free story now.. And midnight launderette isn't one of them. Rainy day antiques is okay but this became part of a routine for me so just really disappointed I can't listen to it now unless I have 50 rubs goings spare which I don't.

It's a great app! It has helped me a lot for a past few days to get deeper clarity and gentle encouragement every time I've tuned in... also it's a lot more than just a meditation app, it's really about creating headspace by helping you clear your head, and develop a deeper awareness and intention within yourself, or regarding whatever you are finding trouble dealing with. So just have a cool time with it!

  43. Ellie C-avatar

Majority of the meditations to listen requires a subscription. I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for something free. Had to uninstall because almost every page link to a bar that tells you to subscribe and I don't want to accidentally click it and subscribe to something I can't afford.

  44. Bee Rome-avatar

There's barely anything for free users, I get it. but if it's locking off that much, it feels better off as a paid app. Graphics are cute and guided meditations seem to cater to a lot of popular needs. It has guides to overcoming obstacles in meditation, great for beginners. As a free user it mostly feels like an intro to meditation app

Love this APP. IT IS FREE TO ALL LOS ANGELES RESIDENTS right now! One of the few companies that is TRULY there for me during this crisis. I started my 11th Step meditation practice after asking dozens of fellows what their meditations looked liked and they had no clue how to direct me except to "stop thinking" Head Space has guided me and many others in my "Anonymous" recovery programs! BREATHE! So simple. . .So Helpful!!!

The sleepscapes are very good for distracting a busy mind in order to get some sleep. The meditations are good for waking up. The support bot is terrible for a paid app. To be logged out for a month and not be able to talk to a customer service agent about it for days is bad business practice. The workout section should be a great addition, but the video transitions haven't been edited professionally. It really should have been tested on users first.

  47. Yusuf Isaacs-avatar

I love this app even though I don't use it that much (my goal is to use it everyday). The best part of the app for me is the "Move" section where you are given a different exercise to do each day. I feel refreshed and ready to take on anything after one of these workouts. I would recommend this app to anyone who needs a stress reliever or anyone that's feeling burned out.

Pretty disappointing that during a time like covid where people are having so much trouble with sleep the free sleepcasts are reduced from 3 sleep casts to 1. Also why such a big difference in price for monthly vs yearly? Money hungry. Way too expensive when you compare to to other services like spotify or nextflix etc. Especially one thats supposed to be for mental health

  49. lucy benoit-avatar

This used to be a big help but the developers are all about money now and have made most of the free stuff premium only. It's pretty useless now so uninstalled and using a different app. If it wasn't so expensive I'd pay but I can't afford it, even when offered a slight discount.

I was really enjoying the app's free version until the new update blocked a bunch of the free sleepcasts and wind downs, making it really limited now which really sucks! I hope they change this in the future because I liked the versatility and the different options, now I'm sad. :((( Not really happy about it.

I've tried mindfulness and meditating etc in the past but could never get the grasp of it. I love how headspace has very short guided meditations which I can engage with long enough to finish. The option the choose a female voice is crucial as well as male voices are not calming for me at all

I am very disappointed with this app. I heard from a friend that it was quite good so I downloaded it to help me get some sleep. I found that 90% of the options were pay-walled, most categories only had 1 or 2 free options. It seemed good, but there just isn't enough content.

I usually don't write reviews, but wanted to share this feedback with Headspace as "giving back" for the value it's been adding to my life. I like the new "today" section's video content and like to watch it before my everyday meditation. And while the content is always good, the UX for watching is terrible due to 2 reasons: 1. Loading time for videos are unusually long and simply doesn't seem to be engineered well. 2. The idea of copying the "story-like" UX for this hasn't translated well.

It's a good app with an interesting selection of meditations to choose from. There's obviously a lot more function with premium subscription, but it's not bad. Since the most recent update, it's constantly running a meditation that I can't end.. Or see if it's actually running on the app

I cannot listen to a single meditation or any other content without the app crashing or the experience endlessly buffering. I only have these issues with Headspace and have strong wifi signal. Really disappointing and probably the least relaxing thing to have the app crash every five minutes.

I keep getting push notifications saying that my meditation is streaming! Why? I don't know what you mean by that! Is someone in my phone going public? Tapping the push notification does nothing, accessing the app does not fix it. This does not put me in a good headspace

I personally love the meditation programs that this app offers but it's way too buggy for a paid app. Same bugs seem to last for months on end. I'm still unable to get the new layout with the workout section. This needs to be fixed.

Extremely disappointed at the very recent change where the sleepcasts available in the free version have been cut to almost nothing. I used the app sporadically when having troubles sleeping, but now will surely switch to something else. What a shame, the app used to be great

please create a widget that would allow to play the next session of the chosen course in one tap. right now there's a lot of friction to get to the next session: you open the app, get distracted by the videos playing on the main page, then scroll to see recent meditations among all recent activities, switch tabs, go inside the course, etc. additional content is good, but I'd really apprecite it if there was a feature that'd help me stick to the meditation habit and finish courses. thank you

Was loving this app until a very recent update made you have to allow it to run in the background to keep it from closed when your phone locks. 48 hours later, I'm getting fake lockscreen adverts and after diagnostics i'm certain it's from this app. Devious and deceitful and just plain against Google plays policy.

This app is curated with utmost care for its end users. I am very happy to use this app and call it my anxiety calmer. The sleep section is full of surprises. This app is very misleading.. It says that this app is free, but there's only a few exercises that you can do for free. Everything else is locked. To get them unlocked, you have to pay close to $70 a year. It's not worth it for 1 app. It is NOT free!

1 the app barely works offline and as you all should know its bad to sleep with WiFi on 2 there is 1 sound (rain) 3 it's a scam to get you to pay $150+ a month There is literally nothing to this app, so unless you want to spend nearly $2000 a year for rain basically a noise I can download for free then look elsewhere because at first appearance this is garbage

I wish there were more sleepcasts. I also wish you could choose which voice to listen to them in. I know that would mean recording them multiple times, but sometimes the voices are just jarring. I really like the older gentleman's voice for example, it's really soothing to me, but the younger female, while nice, just doesn't put me to sleep, so half the sleepcasts I can't use and there aren't many.

And then I'm thinking "wow that's a long pause for breathing" only to find out that I have stop meditation to press play again, or worse restart the app. I think that's a new bug because I haven't experienced it several mo ths ago.

This app has helped to make my daily routine less stressful since the beginning of 2020 (when things here in North America were still 'normal'). I highly recommend the paid version if you can get it. I was fortunate enough to have a family member buy a family membership for us. My only complaint is that I wish I could 'favourite' sleep casts, sleep music, etc. This way I don't have to realize 5 minutes in that I didn't prefer that persons voice a few nights prior.

Great! But could be improved I only use this app for it's sleep guidance and I particularly like the Sleepcasts. I listen to them most nights and often like to listen to a couple on a bad night. I really enjoy headspace, it's been helpful. I struggle immensely with mental health (Ptsd, bi-polar 1)it's like a mental prison so to say. The thing that's helpful for me the most is the group meditations every morning. I struggle with socializing so the lack of voice chat, with the feeling of others sharing the same safe space is just really motivating for me. Great app but extremely limited in the free version. I only ever use the soundscapes to help me sleep as two were freely available but as of the new update its been locked behind premium and it's not worth getting if you only use it for the sound of rain and nothing else which is a shame. I used to enjoy this app a lot, and much more before its makeover. It now looks like it time-travelled to the 90s, and is much less attractive and intuitive than it used to be.. Overall I absolutley love this app. I especially love that if you are currently unemployed right now its free for a year. It's been super helpful through this whole crisis we call 2020. My only gripe is that I can't set timers longer than 45 minutes for the soundscapes in the sleep portion of the app. 45 minutes is not enough time for me. There's only one other option that plays longer and it plays 500 minutes. It would be nice to have something in the middle and for the other soundscapes too.

This app is my favorite on my phone. It helps me sleep, it gets me through difficult situations, and I feel more emotionally connected with myself, as well as others. The narrator is absolutely amazing. The female narrator is nice too, but I'm more used to the male voice, so I tend to stick with that one as it keeps me focused a little better. With time, I find myself using it less, but taking the practices and lessons with me all the time. Definitely worth the money for the full version.

Not enough sleepcasts. I've had the app for about 6 months and they haven't added any. After a while they become too familiar and stop working. Calm, which is a similar app, which I use more often, has added about 20 in the past 6 months. One thing I do like about Headspace is the sleepcasts start with an exercise to relax you. Only their bodyscan 'visualisation' which invites you to switch off parts of your body, makes me anxious as it's like willing yourself paralysed.

Don't like the new layout. Hard to find anything. But more important, the sharing feature is completely broken. Normally I share my progress and streak on a regular basis with my friends in order to stay accountable. Not possible anymore. When attempting to share a meditation after doing it, it generates a black picture and the button to share it just doesn't do anything when clicked.

Used to be better, but over time too many features and courses became premium exclusives. I think more should be available to free users (i.e more than one course, timers, etc) to give me a better idea of what to expect from the app Edit! Due to Covid they have introduced new free content. This is admirable and I've given a bonus star. Thank you Headspace!

I used Headspace and tried their trial and loved it. When my trial was up, I was automatically billed for the next month ($12), no surprise, but I would have liked to get the year subscription instead ($90). I contacted Headspace and they said that I would have to cancel the current subscription, then wait to upgrade. This is where I lost trust in this company. They try to give monthly deals and trials just to get you by automatically billing the inflated month price.

I really liked headspace for its simple interface until the recent updates - when you open to meditate, you are now immediately distracted by the "featured" section that takes up the entire front page. Is there any way to have it made smaller so that it is less distracting? It's also too bad the "friends" part is now hidden - the visual was motivating! As for the "move" part, why try to do everything in that one app? It creates distractions... When that's precisely what we're here to reduce!

This app made a complete mess of the login credentials used for creating and accessing your account. It's why I haven't used the app in over two years since first testing it out. I imagine they've lost all sorts of money because of the issue, from many other user's. UPDATE: Once again can't log into app after resetting credentials. Tech issues abound, so deleting this and installing another app fm the long list of others that do the same thing.
