I've been using this for a few years and find out works very well. I like that you can copy and paste the grid ref into an external notepad or document. Also no ads much appreciated.

I'm having the same issue as alot of other people by the sound of it. This app used to be brilliant and worked straight away, now it just won't work at all.

Works when first installed. Completely fails to work when you try to use it later on. Instead you just get a red triangle that moves about a bit, the minutes pass but no grid ref appears. Would be really nasty if you actually needed the help of the app. Have had the same experience on two different phones. Think this is somebody's idea of a joke.

This app sounded like just what I needed to support compass and map work. Unfortunately I cannot get it to work on MotoG6 Play. All I get is a title bar and blank screen. I see that users of Moto G5 have similar problems from the reviews here. I would love to use this app as OS locate doesn't work either. Do I need to add any permissions or something. Hope you can help.

Good, simple and reliable app. Much more useful in the real world than "What 3 Words" to define a location, being based on open source data, readily available off-line, that integrates with traditional navigational techniques, such as map and compass. The only flaw is that it 'rounds up' a grid reference when moving from, say, 8-figure to 6-figure. Strictly speaking, this is incorrect. e.g.: NN 12345678 is NN 123567 or NN 1256 and not NN 123568 or NN 1257. Five stars if you fix this!

Generally does the job (keeping track of grid squares and recording grid references for botanical recording and locations of photographs), but lack of contrast under bright sky conditions is an issue - the control to copy the position to the clipboard is hard to see, and the toast announcing that the copy has been performed likewise. On occasion an intended copy to clipboard hasn't happened and I've pasted the wrong location into my field notes.

It's been brilliant (hence the stars), but I just opened it: was considering installing what3words but as it's quite big, I wanted to be sure that this was still ok. I'm not even getting the arrow. Have left it a few minutes & still nothing (hence only 3 stars). I have a basic phone on Android 6, it has enough space to work, just not a lot to put other apps on it. Please check it out as it's ideal for us. We go sailing (inland waters) & OS coordinates could literally be a life saver!

This is a great app, that works quickly and presents so simply and very clearly. I use it regularly and recommend it to others. However, it does rounding instead of truncating of references. I use 8 figure when I need 6 figure, which sort of steps around the problem. But no 5 stars until it is rid of the rounding problem.

I have a moto g6 (not the g6 play) and the app works fine although the compass doesn't seem to be very good - sometimes pointing totally randomly. ETA sometimes i get the black screen - reselecting accuracy (number of figures) fixes the issue.
