Poor choice and bad move Google. This app was perfect for audio files to played on my Google device. Not everything needs to be streaming these days. YT Music was/is trash. Went with a 3rd party audio player. Been a huge supporter of Google products and apps. This decision is by far the worst that Google has made to date.

app I had so much music on this app and the fact that Google Play music isn't available is so disappointing can you please fix this immediately, you can't listen to music on the YouTube music app, and if you wish to. Well you have to pay. I don't think a lot of people have the time nor money to pay

download This was an amazing app. Overall, the best audio player i've encountered. It's the only one i could stand using for any length of time, and i loved it. Years of add free music were enjoyed, even on the road where i know there were no towers anywhere around to get signal. This is now the case of, it wasn't broke; you shouldnt have tried to fix it. The transfer to YouTube music was not smooth. Lost most of my library somehow. The shutdown of this app is one of google's biggest mistakes.

kosten Much better than YouTube Music. Seriously, try them both. You'll uninstall YTM while you chuckle and shake your head. Now google "Google Play Music shutdown" and read how that pile of turds is supposed to replace GPM. No more GPM is an instant unsubscribe for me.

manager Plays and shuffles tracks I've bought without adverts. Does exactly what it needs to do. Ideal for running. And it's being scrapped, crazy decision! Maybe it's my age but I don't resent buying songs I like and this app is the perfect place to store them. I don't need adverts and I certainly don't want music recommendations, the radio does that. Then I buy what I like. It looks like I need to get an mp3 player to listen to my music now.

abo Hey, I have over 2000 songs from years of accumulation and I was very devout to the Google Play Music App, Youtube Music says that it isnt avaiable in my region (Trinidad and Tobago) I'm really concerned because I dont want to lose all my music Please rectify this please

desktop player I used to love this this app and platform. Over the last 10 years I migrated all of my music over from iTunes but for some reason this year Google has decided to pull the availability for people like me to purchase music from the Play store. Instead the are pushing people to move there music over a Youtube model. I like my music to be saved locally in a small MP3 format. Second, I like purchasing my music to support the artist. I like to "listen" to music without hearing ads or being forced to watch a video of a song that burns up battery life. I am migrating back to Apple.

mp3 I love Google Play, the most amazing music app I have ever used. Easy to use, I don't even mind paying the $18 a month to have the family plan. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this app, it is perfect for people who live music. HOWEVER You tube music is nothing by comparison, I'm losing content I've paid for, more than half of my extensive music list is missing. I DON'T WANT TO CHANGE ACROSS, PLEASE LEAVE THEM SEPARATED.

kostenlos This app allows you to listen to your music, and dose not bombed you with ad after as between songs. You can assess your music easily, so why are they transferring to the unusable mess known as youtube music. This app has shown to be a lot more favorable, and you can actually enjoy using the application. I feel like I need to risk my information to listen to my music, just because Google is transferring to a user-friendly services. Despite having a working one, that everyone loves(this app)

  10. VampireQueen247-avatar

youtube music I loved this app. I'm shattered that it's getting closed down. I'm really not enjoying YouTube music. You can't listen to music you brought to listen offline you have to be online to listen to them. I thought it would have been like Google Play that the song needed to download from online then you could listen to it offline but it doesn't. Why do they have to get rid of Google Play music. I used it for years and loved how it worked. Don't get rid of the app please. You will be missed GPM by many

I've used this app for I want to say 9-10 years and have never had anything to complain about it. You can store purchased music and music downloaded from other apps. It's ashame support for this app is going away. It's add free when listening to your own music. Hopefully we'll still be able to listen to music we have downloaded through the app after support for it goes away since it's a factor installed app. Youtube music already looks complicated. Other than that I have no complaints about it.

It's fun while this app lasted... Now it's turned into YouTube Music, and so many people will miss it, including me. I had my fun, but it's sad to see it go. I will miss the nostalgic theme of it, and that Google Play will turn into something else, more Google themed. Goodbye, Google Play Music, as YouTube Music will be the new home.

I found this app so brilliant in comparison to any other music app out there, and have been in love using this for years ever since I got my first phone. All these years and happy memories - and now you want to shut this down?! It feels like a breakup that I'll never be able to let go of. Being able to support artists that you love by buying their individual songs, or whole albums was the jam! Now for a rebound I'll have to revert to a CD collection. That's fine. But it's not Google play music.

So I've been using this app for years and have never had a problem with it. Worked great, did everything I needed it to, never failed on me. The thing that made it great is that it gives you the ability to play music thats already downloaded on your phone, even if you didn't download it through this app. Which is really great if you're not particularly into streaming music. This app has since been replaced by the trash YouTube Music app, which I will now proceed to write a terrible review of.

  15. Honey Finau-avatar

    Honey Finau

Not happy with the change!!! I loved this app as we were able to play music offline. The layout was easy to navigate through without any hassles and now we are forced to watch ads that are annoying and the layout is terrible and takes time to flick through. With GPM you just had to play and leave it. I cant even transfer all my music I had to begin with so another major fail there.

  16. Lenny K-avatar

I loved this app and it always worked great for me. We enjoy four wheeling where there isn't always service and it worked great for playing music stored on my Samsung S10+ (as well as many other Android phones before this one) I'm trying the YouTube music change but do not like it so far. I may have to just find a third party app to play the music stored on my phone now.

It will be missed. Ironically I've been trying to buy some albums from it for some time, but all I could find was "radio", which I would only be able to access online and I can't actually pay for. Congrats Google, you're sinking Play in favor of an inferior product. And you are the reason it never made money. When play goes, it will be uninstalled. And no, I will not use youtube music because I can't use it offline without a subscription, even though I own a copy of the music!

  18. Harley-avatar

Used Google Play music for years. Now unfortunately have to switch to another player app. Which works way better than Google Play did. Won't be using YouTube Music because I have to sit through an Ad after EVERY video on the YouTube app. So why would I subject myself to the same punishment with their music player? No thanks. I'll pass. All I can say is Good luck with the new service. ✌

Really great app. Loves it and had it since i got my phone, but then they're saying its going to be replaced by youtube music. Now i shouldve been fine with that but the thing is, youtube music isnt available in my area. What am i supposed to do. Im sure there are others with the same problem. Just have both apps. Dont take it away

I love this app so much, I had used this for about a year ago. But I have a tiny problem with Youtube Music it kept saying "Nothing to transfer" When I have 46 songs downloaded in my device and I also prefer Google Play Music better, I'm sorry if I may seem a little harsh but I'm just being honest. I'm hoping even if Youtube Music is here You'll still keep Google Play Music for users like me who have the same problem with "Nothing to Transfer" Thank you!

  21. Dan Lollio-avatar

Loved it, used it all the time! Now I'm forced to use YouTube music to play songs I've already had downloaded for years! Press the transfer option, can't find over half of my songs now, and it requires an internet connection to play my music. " For a limited time." Which means soon it'll cost me money to play song's I already own! Very upset about this, you wanna add YouTube music to your services? Fine but please allow Google Play Music to still be used.

  22. Shaquille Walker-avatar

Great until they replaced it with YT Music. I attempted to transfer my library 3 times and none of the music I purchased through GPM transferred over. Now its completely closed and I can't get to any of that music. My music is sacred to me and it really pissed me off that I paid for music that all got removed from my library. Can someone tell me what to do to get my damn music back!!!!

  23. Angela Ward-avatar

Very upset that now all my music I have had for years is no longer available. All of myy Playlist did not transfer and now I can't make new Playlist on YTMUSIC! As an active runner, this is very upsetting. No warning, nothing. Went to play my music and its gone! Ugh! Thought you was better than that Google! Maybe BING will come out with a music app.

It took me over 5 years to start using this app instead of Samsungs stock app, but I started purchases albums like crazy, and a year later, I had quite the library of legit purchased music (I used pirate Bay for the longest, is what it is). The app was easy to use, my music was all there from what I bought and what I already had on the device, downloading to my pc was simple as well. Stop trying to fix what isn't broke. YT music is trash. I will purchase my music from Amazon now, thanks Google.

  25. Leo Sanders-avatar

Great app. Really enjoyed using it. Navigation was always really simple and the "Recent" section allowed me to listen to albums that I would have forgotten about. However, the album list only holds so many albums on it, and while I still have all my albums downloaded on my device, and some albums have been removed from the list. This is obviously a part of Google's plan to make people switch to YTM. I'm rather annoyed that music I purchased on Google Play cannot be transferred to YTM.

Depreciated and Locked Up My Music Library Google has depreciated this app with YouTube Music (so now I have to listen to ads when trying to listen to my own paid-for music library). When attempting to download my existing music library, my phone defaulted the linked to my work account (it does not allow you to select which account even if you have multiple on the phone). As my work doesn't allow data downloads, I have lost access to several hundred, maybe thousands of $$ of music. Furious.

This app was good until I lost all my music without any warning. I live in a remote town that dosnt have signal and now I cant listen to my purchased music, that I have actually spent so much money on because I bought all of it with my own money! Not everyone can use youtube and I just lost all of mhy music. i have had this app for so many years now. Im so angry that this has happened and now I cant listen to my music. So pissed off!

This app was the center of my daily life for years. When I switched from iphone to android, this feature alone increased my appreciation for the app tenfold. Now, google wants to get rid of it in a bid to make us pay for streaming with YouTube Music. YouTube Music is the most rushed interface on the market. I have Spotify and will not make the switch to this unorganized mess. I'll just download my already saved library to my phone and listen to music there. Nice while it lasted though.

This app i used all the time. But now that its being replaced. I tried to transfer my items, now i just lost all of them. i transfered twice and nothing of my files are showing up. Even the upload audios i took time to put in playlists. Now i dont have that. I cant play music now while im on a different app without paying. So this change really sucks. And now i have to restart.

This was a great app until they ruined it by FORCING us to YouTube Music, which is a TERRIBLE app. I now have to now watch ads to listen to music I purchased. And cannot minimize app without the music stopping. The only way to keep that from happening is subscribing and paying for the "premium" version.... Once again, for music that I ALREADY OWN!!!

  32. T H A N O S-avatar

    T H A N O S

I love this app!, but no. Google just wants to shut it down to make youtube music more popular. Youtube music is terrible. The sound quality sucks first of all. You need internet to listen to music on there. Some people rarely even get internet to listen to music so they use this app and then that app gets shut down to make an even worse app more popular. Google just wants money. Atleast you didnt have to pay on google play music. A bunch of money hungry people im switching to spotify now.

  33. Brandon Reynolds-avatar

It's a five star app, and I'm very sorry that Google has decided to discontinue it. The biggest drawback being the collection of music I've gotten over the years, I can no longer lock my screen to play once this goes without having to pay for it. What once was free will be no more. And it's truly a shame, because I don't have the money a month to throw away just to be able to save my battery.

Really loved this app. Why do we have to transfer our music to YouTube? Also with the transfer not all of my albums transferred and now the Google play music app won't even open for me to see which ones didn't. How can this issue be fixed? I need to be able to get all my music transferred successfully. Plus the email I received today said we have until December to do so. Really frustrated!!

The journey on this app was fun till it lasted, until a fork in the road showed itself. So instead of downloading YouTube music, im just gonna listen to music on the regular YouTube app in picture mode and listen to SoundCloud. Based on what I read, im not spending money on that YouTube music app that replaced this one. Rest in peace my music library, you will never be forgotten.

The gold standard of music apps. I have tried ITunes music as well as YouTube Music. Though YouTube is ok, this app was 1000 times better in every way. It contained a sleep timer, the ability to edit uploads, faster access to downloaded music, smoother transitions between songs, and an easier platform to search through your purchases. It is also a tragedy that Google no longer sells music, as I have enjoyed a great deal of albums purchased through the play store. Why did Google picked YouTube?

  38. James Crawford-avatar

Years of love! Being forced to go to youtube music looks like being forced to go from XP to Windows 7, where everything goes straight into the crapper. It will be a dark day when GPM stops working and there is nothing but a swirling bowl of the youtube music crapper. I have no desire AT ALL to use my limited mobile data to stream music I already paid for. This is one more reason to HATE computer programmers.

  39. Benjamin Todd-avatar

It goes beyond the loss of free playable music, the YT Music collection and algorithms are just worse. The Google App worked better and cleaner and didn't feel like I'm being sold something I don't want. Half the songs I'm trying to listen to appear to be YT uploads with terrible quality and half of the playlists I had created have been destroyed after the transfer. Seriously.... Why did this happen, this app was perfect. How did you throw out all the best parts?

  40. Samual Colt-avatar

This was a great app for what I used it for, listening to music that was already on my phone. Now its getting shut down for Youtube music, seriously. Youtube music the crappy streaming service that can't play music thats already on your phone too well AND is not really even a quarter as useful as something like Spotify. You could have merged the 2, or left this just as a music player for the songs on your phone without the need to connect to the internet.

Google play music was great😁, but now that they had to make you switch to YT, it's really annoying and you need data and not everyone has data or WiFi.😠😠😡😡 And you can't even transfer your songs to YT. I hate it that they had to make us switch. Probably cause they wanted to make more money.😠😠 I just wish they didn't make us switch. I just wanna know why?!😠 Google Play Music was perfectly fine the way it was.

You'll be sorely missed Play Music, no you couldn't skip back to the last track from the first in a playlist, but you at least did have a store where we could directly support artists by buying their music and having it instantly available in an online collection, where it could be played and also downloaded as with traditional music stores. As a fan of supporting artists and not a fan of streaming, GPMS was one of my main music sources, so if/ when it dies, I'll be looking elsewhere; GG Google

I have had nothing but the best experiences with Google Music. I don't understand the conversion to YouTube music. It has literally butchered my playlists and songs. Having this app not working like before really sucks. I was able to purchase my favorite songs in this app. Now it has you go to YouTube music to move over your songs where you have to pay monthly instead. Really Google Play? The developers of this app are effing dumb to sell out to YouTube and NOT TELL USERS! I used this app for offline music until 10/16/20 I could not open it offline. (No cell service.) When I got to cell service, I get slapped with this unnerving news that it is no longer available. You know what? Eff you and YouTube. I'll go back to iTunes and Samsung Music.

This app was very very fun.. UNTIL they needed to switch to YT music which was REALLY MEAN. So I couldn't even transfer my Google Play music from before I had about 160, it didn't let me. Now I'm very sad and angry at this moment, idk what to do anymore without hearing offline and online music. If they can only bring the Google Play back as it was cause YT MUSIC is not worth it. I'M VERY SAD NOW I won't abble to hear my old music like it's a nightmare now. I hate it! It's not fair!

I like this app and it's functionality please don't get rid of it! I have several hundred songs that I bought and paid for! I had planned on making all my future purchases of digital music from here. YouTube music is a horrible idea... why would I want commercials in the middle of songs that I bought and paid for. Horrible business model I guess I will be going back to Amazon music even though I don't like their app at least their is not commercials in my personal music library.

I loved the app. So easy to use. I hate the fact that they're getting rid of it and forcing us to use YouTube music. YTM is horrible user friendly and a large portion of the music I PAID FOR didn't transfer over. I will not be using YTM....I'll have to find a good 3rd party music player. Bad move, google.

  51. REDHOOD410-avatar

This is a FANTASTIC app the fact that Google is switching over to YT music (which I will rarely if ever be using) baffles me. I've been searching for hours and trying out new music apps because YT music has a terrible layout it's clunky and hard to figure out. Google Play Music you will be missed when this app disappears I will have to rebuild a music library I've been building for almost 10 YEARS! If I wasn't so in love with my Google Pixel I would switch to iPhone.

Amazing app. So simple and easy to use. Very upset that they are getting rid of it. Got the YouTube app and hate it. Google won't even let you download your songs to your hard drive anymore. It was an amazing app while it lasted, truly one of a kind app. I spent a lot of time making playlists in this app, when all of the sudden I have to switch to an app that barely works, and is unable to transfer my playlists over. I'm speachless and heartbroken from this poor decision by the hands of Google, all in the same of pushing us ads in order to gain more money

It is good that they want to upgrade. But loosing all the good features and making them into Premium Pay is not right. How much money does Google need that it wants to change even music into paid platform. It doesn't play in the background in YouTube music. Google Play easily played in the lock screen as well. You move to any other app and the music stops in YouTube music. It should continue to play in background. Also why music transfer from Google Play to YouTube Music is a premium feature???

You know because some of us actually have a music collection that spans decades and want to listen to the music we paid for. Then they started asking for subscriptions which I tolerated. Finally they decided ... "nope going to remove this app". Yeah like I want to use YouTube to play music ! Then I had a forehead smack moment. "Hold one doesn't 'VLC for Andriod' play music ?" It does, no adds and as a bonus I can watch movies. So thank you Google ! You made me move to a far superior solution. P.S. Google you suck !

Transferring over to YouTube Music is a pain. It just cut out my music I had stored on my phone's SD card and said I had to make an account and a YouTube playlist to continue. I don't want my music online, I don't even want to be online when I listen to it. And as far as I'm aware, YouTube only allows offline use if you pay for it. Why couldn't this app just stay the same?

BRING GPM BACK!! Not giving us the choice of switching to another form of media is not fair. I know I am not the only one who spent over $150 in buying music for me not to even be able to listen to it without having to pay a premium on top of it. Thanks for asking what we think. If I wanted to use YouTube I would but so far this is a big mistake that y'all need to fix.

I am just very sad that you cannot listen to the music you like. You have to keep skipping on the radio and try finding it, but it might not be there and it would've been a waste of time. But I rated it 2 stars instead of 1, because at least you can listen to music. And other music apps dont have the radio. So if you like hearing the radio, install this.

Will be missed - this app did everything I needed it to. I bought all my songs and now I'm what? loosing access to songs I already paid for cos Google wants its own Spotify? Well nah, I'll take my audio files and find some other app to play music from. I don't need or want "daily lists" or recommendations, I just wanna buy songs I like and listen to them when I want to, is that really so much to ask for/ so unprofitable in the 21st century???

My experience with Google Play Music has been nothing less than absolutely amazing, perfection in app form. I am OVERWHELMINGLY UPSET having to "switch over to YouTube Music" where ALL THE SONGS I'VE BOUGHT THROUGH GOOGLE (and the few I'd brought from iTunes) now just feel like they are no longer my property. The ending of this app is a SLAP IN THE FACE to countless Google users, as we ALL now STRUGGLE to find a SUITABLE REPLACEMENT. YouTube Music is a PATHETIC replacement! WHY, GOOGLE?!

A perfectly great music app to play music going away is sad indeed. YTMusic isn't great at all without a subscription. Constantly tapping it to say you're there, doesn't play anything when either just using it as a music player with the screen off (especially when driving) or trying to browse other stuff. The switch isn't the best move, gonna have to look for other apps in replace of listening to music and not with one that decreased sound quality and playing ads after every song.

I have everything set up a specific way on this app, and now I can't even get into my playlists? When I got on there this morning? I loved google play music, I'm a delivery driver, so I would listen to music through my car radio while having the navigation on my phone open, now I've had to download all my music to youtube music, which means I have to stream, there are ads, and my music only plays if I have the app open, as soon as I try to switch to another app it stops playing. Ok, I love this app and definitely don't want to move to YouTube music yet, really, there's only issue with YT music and it's that unlike google play I can't listen to songs saved on my phone in the same place as my library songs. I have a lot of music from small independent artists that were only available to buy via mp3 from the Bandcamp so I want to be able to shuffle them into a play list like I can with Google play.

I could of continued to go on YouTube if i wanted to hear ads and waste battery. And I can't find some of my songs. Anyways just ask YouTube music to get the shuffle button for the users, and all my downloads from the device should be found!! I'm not switching to YouTube music because I don't want to have to get rid of my songs when I inevitably switch to a different app because YouTube music is playing 12 ads in between songs like it does with videos. The billions of users should have been consulted before pulling the trigger on this terrible idea. If we ban together and boost the ratings up on Google play music, maybe they'll change their minds. Boost the ratings and fill the review section telling them how we feel about this idea.

And I don't even know if everyone will eventually be able to buy songs or albums like in Google Play Music. None of that is available with YTM you even have to pay for continued playback with your phone off and to stream to other devices, on GPM it's free. Why did you have to mess it up google? Fix it.

Some days I just dedicate to one band and listen to all their best songs throughout the day. It keeps up with new album releases very well, Im always surprised when I see one of my bands create something under my radar. This was a great app for music lovers. It allowed you to mix your own music files with streamed files and download all these to your phone for offline use. Playlist could use both streamed and uploaded content. Sure, there were some niggles - hence only 4 stars - but still better than anything else and especially better than YTM. I've gone to Spotify but it's not as good as GPM. If it were still there I'd be back in a shot.

I didn't even use it to play music online, i just played music files i had already on my device, and i think it's unfair that i should "have" to move to something that i will most likely have to pay for to actually listen to in the background. Google Play Music is truly a #1 music player for playing uploaded/bought music offline without subscription nor ads (highly beneficial for airplane mode). I'm still using GPM (because Google Pixel) daily after I upload/bought the music from my computer (GPM site) and sync it to my phone. Additionally, all of your saved playlist can also be synced to your phone as well. So far, I don't have any issue with using this app. As Google Pixel user, I have to forcefully move to YouTube Music and this hurts me a lot due to the fact that this is my only standard/default music player in android.

If I could give YouTube Music less than a zero rating, I would. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've reached out to Google about this idiotic move from Play to Youtube music and all they tell me is that change is good. Play was and is so good, there was no reason to shut it down especially without asking us first. The new choice lacks so much that Play has. There are no genres! How can you have no genres? You can't edit anything anymore either like album art. I pointed this out to them and they told me they were still working on updating YTMusic. Well, here's a little suggestion Google. Don't go to a new format before you make sure everything is there. It's like moving into a newly built house in the middle of winter before the windows are put in. And unless I'm mistaken, they will charge us to listen to our music. What a ripoff! This is what I've found and it's called IBroadcast. You may even say it has more better features than Play but it still has some minor bugs to work out. No more searching for album art. It gives it to you and other choices. I like the gapless feature too. One song straight into the other. I was so, so angry when I found out Play was ending. Nothing we can do about it though. Try IBroadcast. It's good.

Discontinued today. I don't know why Google has to shutdown the play music entirely and redirect customers to YouTube musice. They could just stop updating it. All I wanted is a descent music player for my local files. Google play music did a great job. Apparently YouTube music cannot do that simple job. Google is not very customers obsessed. In this case, I will use Spotify if I want a music streaming service since I don't know if Google kills YouTube music suddenly one day in the future.

Ive been using play music ever since I've been using a smartphone. This app being replaced is like having a loved one die. Everyone i know uses this app because out its second to none. Now it's being replaced with an app that I do not like at all. I really think a lot of people don't like this switch. Boooooo!!!!

I love this app. It's so simple and user friendly. It can play songs from its app and my phone library without any issue, which is very convenient and no other app can do so smoothly. It is a HUGE MISTAKE to move to YouTube Music as it is horrible! I am very disappointed with this move. I have discontinued my subscription and moved to Spotify, which-to my further disappointment-is less convenient than Google Play Music, but at least it's better than YouTube Music.

This app is awesome. It allows you to play music from your device storage, offline, in the background and ad-free. I have had great memories of this app, but Google is actually going to replace this with YT musuc, which is worse than both this and Spotify. It's sad. How else am I supposed to play my library of Undertale music. Please Google, listen to the community and keep the app.

Does exactly what's required. I want to play my own music, ripped from CDs. I want multiple playlists, compiled from these. I don't want to stream (use data and pay again!) when I already have my music on my phone. I want Google assistant to recognise the player. Google Play Music does all this. YouTube music does not. I won't be switching, even though I'll lose the ability to use the assistant for music. Shocking disrespect for users; but it's Google, so what do you expect?

I love this app for certain reasons but then there's something that really disturbs me this app doesn't provide an option to add songs in my playlists all together(i mean in selecting version) we have to add one by one one by one and that takes a lot of time and it really hurts,so I would recommend to give that option where we can add all the songs in the playlists that we are creating at once and not one at a time.Could you just add a feature so that adding songs to play list would be easier.

5 stars for the app itself. I love it and have paid for it for almost 10 years. I love that I can set it to sleep, I love the ease of finding music I like, and I love that it has learned my styles quickly... I HATE that it is going away. I tried Google music for a couple months and hate it. It gets stuck on videos and doesn't have the ease. It also doesn't have the sleep function. I have now switched to spotify, which is what I tried before this and still hate it. Do not go away! PLEASE!

Google play music had been my go-to music app for about 3 years now and I love it! Literally so much variety with music and so much control on what YOU want to listen to. I'm completely upset with the switch to YouTube music. Sad to say but I'll most likely switch to spotify because of this unnecessary change. Too bad Google can never just keep a good thing going.

This app has had a great run but Google/Alphabet has decided to push the broken mess called YouTube Music upon us. I would rather go back to using a discman over this "replacement" Goodnight, sweet prince. As a devoted user since the first Android phone was released, the G1, you've always been there and done well. Once you are finally laid to rest, I'll be canceling my long-standing subscription and I'll give Spotify it's time to shine.

By far and away the best music listening app available on Android. I don't want to even mention the garbage app Google is forcing us to move to. Pretty typical Google, though. Make an app, it's super useful, get your customers to know it, then force them to use something else because Google loves keeping their customers on their toes and making it a bad experience. I've been using Google Play Music since it's been available, and I know the layout, functions, and the usability is much better.

I loved Google Play Music until now. Switching to YouTube Music was the dumbest idea EVER. I can not get all my music to transfer it is very AGGRAVATING !!!!! I have watched videos and read directions it is NOT working and I can't get them to load with a slide show. Why change it to something I don't want I just purchased a song that I can't even listen to. NOT HAPPY. I want my money back for the songs I have purchased through them. Why change what already works???????

Loved it! I hate to see it go as I have gained quite the collection of music that was so "Me" and now I get to use Youtube music for recommended songs or for playlists I haven't updated in years; tried to sync my music over to it and even though it finished I still have yet to see it happen. Don't like losing this wonderful app, however we can't control these things and I recommend to anyone who likes music to at the very least check it out and enjoy it while it's still here, rip google music

I really loved this App.... Thanks Google for taking it away and forcing everyone to you tube music.... You need to change the you tube music layout or format... google music was awesome ..told you a little detail about the artist/ group ... related artist..I used to listen to my Sirius /XM radio and I would hear a song I may not heard in year's... Then I'd go back search it on Google music and build my play list I just wanted you to know I love this Layout not the youtube music we're forced to

I too was a subscriber to Google Music Play for years as well, but now that you have to download all music to YouTube Music is bloody outrageous. I cannot purchase music anymore and I won't be able to keep my music as they are saying that "By the end of the year, all music on the Google Music Play app will be deleted if not downloaded onto YouTube Music". Absolutely fuming and literally pissed off about this.

The best flow of music I've heard from a music app hands down! I didn't realize it was free and useful and just scrolled pass it on multiple phones for years. The last three or so years have been wonderful being able to listen to this app. Please do not take one of the few things that makes me truly happy away. I was trying to see if I could install it on my firestick when I came across the disheartening news tonight. No good way to add it, but you can certainly mirror. Hold down home on remote.

Very enjoyable until the switch to Youtube. I've bought a good collection of albums over the years on Google Play, I'd rather pay to specifically have what I'm choosing to listen to. These streaming services add and remove content at a whim, I will not pay a subscription fee to have my content ripped away from me at a later date.

  133. JAVM-avatar

This app was great, I could Just say, google play music, and get my music off my phone, no streaming, no cost just play the music I own on my device. And then, Gone, Just removed. Now I am not saying google should continue to support it if they are moving their investment else ware, but removing it from my device and as such removing functionality, is a pretty poor action for google. To take

I really like this app but I'm so angry that it's being replaced. I've downloaded youtube music app but I hate it now I have to go through my songs, which I have over 100, to put them in playlists. Please do not take this app down there's nothing wrong with it, I prefer this over the app that is replacing it.

Google Play Music was very good. The new You Tube music is 'HORRIBLE'! Google wants you to pay to listen to your music that you uploaded or PAY THEM $120 year to listen to them unless you don't want to listen to THEIR AD every other song to buy their so called premium service. A lot of the features were free with Google Play Music. Google already sucks tons of data from most people already. They are just greedy now. I will now have to find a new BETTER streaming service for my music.. If you will be looking also I suggest trying to find a service that doesn't compress your music also. If I am going to have to pay I do not want my music compressed. Good bye 'Google Play Music'. R.I.P.

Absolutely fantastic app, one that Google should continue development of and can YTM for - it's so so good. Sound quality is awesome, radios are awesome, offline music is awesome. The UI is so easy and consistent, and it's so simple to cast to my host of Google devices around the house. Also, when I ask it to play a song, it *doesn't* default to the crappy live version like YTM does, it plays the proper studio version. **I cannot find a single fault in this app, but in YTM I can find plenty.**

Its a wonderfull app.I really love it.I can download so much of songs in it.But the reason why did i give 3 stars because: 1) when i wanna transfer my data to yt music it crash and said "You don't have any data to transfer".2)In yt music i cant hear my favourite song while i'm playing games.3)In yt music,i need to have yt music premium then i finally can download my favourite song.4)It always crash. So please fix my problem. Then i'll come back and give you 5 stars.😁

MUSICOLET IS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE! I really liked this app and have used it for playing my music library for about 8 years. It seems so pointless to kill it off but I guess Google are pushing the YouTube brand too hard now and there's no space for Play Music :'( I will not be switching to YouTube music (in fact I really hate what Google has been doing with YouTube generally).

I had a full working youtube channel thanks to this app, but with the recent change google made to switch to YouTube Music everything went downhill from there. I despise YouTube Music, we have had so much time with Google Play Music, and it's been like a way for me to get away from reality, but now I can't even do anything without feeling down cause of the switch!

One of the best music players. It automatically connects to your account so you can buy and stream music with ease, and is very easy to use, all free. Don't understand why it's moving to YouTube music, which crashes constantly removes music, and you have to pay to use 100%

This has been the best app i have found for me to listen to my music that ive downloaded over the years from third party apps. No other app has been free with no ads mixed in with the music i rightfully downloaded. Very disappointed google will be taking it down because ive used this app practically everyday since i got my first phone about 5 years ago.

  142. brybry251-avatar

Before the app shut down, I had full access to all 297 songs on my phone. But after opening it one day, and being told to migrate all of my music to YouTube music, every single one of my music apps (including others that I've downloaded to try) only show 262. What the hell happened to my other 35?

This was a very good app while it lasted.. now I have to transfer my music into what I hate. Even tho I transferred it and I'm still confused on how to use it.. it brings up old playlists that I don't even listen to . So use to just going to good play music and play what I already have downloaded

I loved this app, I have 864 songs to which I paid a thousand if not over dollars for, that way I can listen to my music offline. Now they are closing this one down and switching us to YouTube Music where all the music I paid for can't be listened to offline, even after uploading it to the new app. All that money I spent on my music and I feel like Google is telling me to suck an egg. I feel gypped!! Switching to Amazone Music... pretty sure they won't steal from me!!

This is the best music app out there. Why is Google discontinuing it, only to make its users go to an app (YouTube music) that doesn't hold a candle to it? Google, you are making a huge mistake. Since you clearly don't care about your paying customers, I switched over to Apple Music. It's 1000x better than that piece of garbage you call youtube music. If you weren't getting rid of Google Play, I wouldn't be going anywhere. But since you are... Bye

A great app for music. Especially on the Google home devices. I'm extremely disappointed in their switch to YTMusic. The new app won't allow self stored music to play along with the app music, in addition to its terrible new features. Sad to say I have to look for a new music store if they follow through. Another lost customer 😒.

This app is phenomenal. It's one of the epic google play apps. Then Google comes out of nowhere and says they're replacing it. I looked into it and now I understand (look it up). It's people who don't have mobile devices that go over to Youtube to stream music. People who do have mobile devices use other streaming apps like Spotify and Google Play Music. I don't think killing it would make anyone happy. I don't own a company, don't try to get me for that. But I'm just stating the obvious.

  149. Baegyum-avatar

Going for a YouTube music app is a big mistake. It is very concerning that Google is going to depend more on other platforms even with a basics-must-have music app and I'm afraid even the basic google apps are going to get changed to use the customers' time more and more on advertisement. I use this app for listening to the music in my collection from my storage. I don't want to change such a good app for another wasting time, money grabbing app. This is definitely not what I want as a user.

It was great and it is irreplaceable, intuitive interfaces and easy to handle and most importantly didn't crash after a few seconds nor randomly stopped playing or spammed the premium version ads. The point is the decision to move to You Tube Music has to be the worst decision ever made by Google. And, I think I am talking by everyone when I say that the worst part is that it is a forced change and not a user's decision.
