Reviews From google play store

I really like Google News. It looks great, is quick, has a dark mode and you can customise your news feed by letting it know about the type of news you want more or less of. And that's the problem, it doesn't seem to remember those choices. Many times I've clicked on less of Money Super Market, or Cricket, or Dancing on Ice, etc. But, like an unwanted visitor, those news subjects keep coming back, continuously. They won't stop. Please Google, respect my choices...

I like the app a lot overall. I use it as my go-to news source. My only complaint is that I keep seeing stories about topics that I have selected as not being of interest despite repeated selections. For example, I have chosen Star Wars, all related movie and TV show spin offs and their actors/directors as not of interest yet I keep getting stories on Star Wars related topics.

I like Google News. I like it's simplicity but at the same time it is that same element that frustrates me a jit, specifically when it come to curating your sources and topics. It feels that it doesn't matter how many times I do "show less like this" or "more like this", tge things In shown stay the same. I try to remedy this by adding individual topics although I would love it if it were easier to add topics suggested by the engine, something like suggested topics.

It provides a good variety of news from different portals. I read news for more than 6 hrs everyday (no points for guessing that I have some mental disorder) and this app never disappoints me with quality and freshness of news. Also I have noticed that news on this app are fast to open, even better than if you go to app of that perticular news portal. One example is economic times. see the difference by yourself. Thanx google. You are the best.

I like having all of my news filtering into one app. I dislike not being able "dismiss" stories but instead have to hide them or select that I am "not interested" in these topics. And I feel like the app tries to "pigeon hole" me in regards to interests. A simple search for dumbbells for home excercise (which I'm interested in) leads to multiple news articles about college weight lifters ( which I am not). Overall, I do like the app.

The Google News app is the ultimate, not only for the news sourcing & up to the minute headlines, but the Graphics. They truly are mizmerising! Precise design, combined with Dark Mode, I never want to quit reading or close the app! Sometimes I catch myself wanting to segue into a related story, but suddenly I'll stop-the related stories and harsh formats sometimes just aren't worth leaving the comfort of the Google News format! I haven't even gotten to the precise photos! Best News app! PD Ride

Great round up of all the news and sports I am interested in. Very in-depth, diverse outlooks/news sources, and user friendly. I like how you can still down on a particular subject. Almost seems endless when researching topics. The Google search algorithms do a wonderful job of populating more news and articles I am interested in. It's kinda of scary how quickly they understand my likes and dislikes and pull info to read.

So now things that I discuss in private are coming up as interests for NEWS stories. Targeting ads is one thing, but this is no bueno. It happens too often and subjects are too random to be a coincidence.... BACK OFF. Also, even though I have clicked "show fewer stories like this" 100 times... it still refreshes with more stories about game of thrones. thanks for spoilers! not cool. Also no matter how many times I tell it I am not interested in the NFL it still comes up every day.

Search doesn't return any results. No matter how many times I "tell" the app I don't want to see a certain subject, like basketball or the Kardashians, I end up w/ several articles on that each day. It's honestly a waste of time to discard each article when the app still shows them anyway. I've been using it for a few years now & I'm still suffering through articles I don't want to read. Moreover, the news "sources" can range from great to awful (ie. a blog). Tati Westbrook is NOT a news source!

App works well but really frustrating that my content is always based on my searches and last articles read. Hard to get any new topic information or contradictory information. This news feature could dangerously reinforce biases and I don't see a way to update settings to prevent it from using my data to just give me the same data. I would also like to to see less "opinion" articles and things from more reputable sources
