It seems that the "Add to Home Screen" bug has been recently fixed. It's back to being a great app for news. I like all the various options but it would be even better if it could allow the option to selectively prioritize outlets that don't have limits to article views. I'm going to submit this suggestion in the app's Feedback section.

Still would rather have real android app on my chromebook than the PWA you provide. After latest update some links or headlines wont open saying site refused to connect. Yet I can click the little chainlink icon at the top of the unopened article and go directly to the website and read it just fine. Please fix this.

VERY NICE I download it few days ago, since I am Android and Google user knows what kind of news, entertainment and tech I like and also gives me headline news, locals and all the things i like and interested right in front page, works smooth with my Samsung Note 20 Ultra ,just like the rest of the Google products loving it & No issues!! A++

For a world currently in a dark time with the news channels we trust actively out to literally drown us with fake news, Toxic reporters, and all around just Hate in the World it can feel hard on yourself. This app fixes that with one thing you can check to see what other news channels are seeing With one press of the full coverage button You are taken to everyone's perspective So you aren't ever misled I am saying WHERE WAS THIS IN 2016? It's truly worthy of 5 stars 10/10 would read again!

Hate the feature to click on the news twice for full story. Pointless. Hate some news from WOB. A different headline photo that never describe the headline. E.g. headline is about charity but headline picture is about suicide. The 'For you' news & the 'Headlines' news are almost the same! Some news doesn't respond to touch. No new news recommendations. Limited news. 1 news with 5 different sources is not needed. 40% news doesn't interest me.

The link/pages no longer open up in itself. It asks to open to browser. Please bring back old version. Edit - For Google DISCOVER homepage.

One of the best apps in this category. I would had rated it 5 stars but there is a bug in its widget on MIUI devices. On MIUI 12, the colors of the widgt do not change when the dark mode switches and vice versa. Instead the color of the main widget background stays the same as the UI color at the time of adding the widget. Text on the widget does change. This makes the text unreadable (dark text on dark background and vice versa). This behaviour is not influenced even if dark mode is off for it.

Not much review space here, but am disappointed in choice of 'lead' news stories (aka, my 'briefing'). Challenger shuttle disaster, for example, was 36 years ago. Also, really wish the setting to disable video autoplay had more effect on the news stories that autoplay ad videos. Not only am I NOT interested in watching cute dogs licking their owner's face to get to the sandwich they're eating, I'm up against my data limit for this month, which's rapidly devoured by 'cute' autoplaying videos!

I have been subscribed to a couple of magazines for a number of years now. It used to be easy and convenient to access them with the magazine reader supplied. This is not the case now, because they are so buried in the current app that I am often not able to even locate them in a reasonable time. The current system is definitely a substandard way of accessing subscribed magazines. It's 2021 and it is still a substandard way for accessing magazines compared with "newsstand"

Articles open in weird News browser that isn't compatible with most website features like Twitter links, comments section, even some websites don't even show the article until you open it in a different browser. I am fine with this being default, but the fact that you can't change it is frustrating. Also, if you watch a video and change phone orientation, you have to rewarch ads or start the video over. Very frustrating
