Reviews From google play store

I have tried multiple times the last four days to receive a payment, and have been unable to do so. Multiple calls to Google support for this app have not remedied this issue. I have been able to pay others with this app, but the one time I am to receive funds, I am unable to do so. This is a known issue as informed on my latest phone call. If you want your money, use a different application.

Was using Sumsung Pay and it royally sucked ba**s. Been using Google Pay for a couple weeks now and love it! Let's you pay even when battery is dead low unlike Samsung Pay which won't let you pay if your battery is below 20% which makes no sense. But yeah, Google Pay is the cat's ass for sure, 10/10 reccomend! Super fast when you hold your phone up to the reader and you don't even have to open the app.

It definitely works. It has all my accounts and I only need to unlock my phone to pay. Far safer when you realize a stolen phone can be located in like 2 minutes if your location history is on, and you could also erase the data from that device remotely. Not available for most places, but there will be a tipping point in the next 5 years, and itll be the main payment method. DiCaprio as howard Hughes would say "the way of the future"

Samsung S10+. I recently switched from Samsung Pay to Google. Since using Google pay, I have experienced inconsistency with how the app works. I have experienced this inconsistency at the same retailer. One day it works but the next day or later the same day it doesn't. At this point it has become more of an inconvenience and a hassle. Besides, it is embarrassing when the guy in front of you uses Apple pay without issue but when I use Google Pay, I get declined or it won't even read. Help!!!

App was pretty good and generally reliable until September, then it abruptly stopped working and all attempts at reloading the app, removing and re-entering information and payment methods have been in vain. Google is impossible to contact when things go wrong, so there has been no help from them. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this app in its current state.

Never worked for me. Any card (both debit and credit) give a error while paying. "The merchant does not support this mode of payment." Practically useless, rather an user installed bloatware variety. Would give it minus 20 stars if possible. Useless stock reply from support. Now I would rate it minus 1000 stars.

It used to be 5 stars but just got a new phone crossed everything over and now for some bizarre reason it wont accept my card and Google are the worst to get hold of when something goes wrong, all I get is make sure you have entered your details correctly I HAVE There was no help there, the app keeps saying my payment method is invalid but worked perfectly on my old phone I had a samsung s8 now have a samsung s10+

Samsung pay is miles better. These are the reasons: 1. Before paying, in samsung pay you need to authenticate by pin or iris. Here you just open the app and pay, which is less safe 2. You need to keep your Nfc always on, which is irritating 3. No analytics of your spending 4. You can use in less shops than samsung pay Too bad, I would really like google to match with the functionality of Samsung pay

This appears to be google's way of building obsolescence into android phones. My LG G7 was working fine for the longest time and then sometime in October there was a google pay update and now my phone no longer meets the software standards and can't be used for contactless payments. Apparently it's because "my phone is rooted or otherwise customized". The phone is an unlocked Rogers model, bought brand new that has never been rooted, never had the bootloader unlocked, and never had a custom ROM installed. I have factory reset twice now in an attempt to get it to work, the only thing I haven't tried is reflashing the entire kdz, but considering that it was working until the app was updated last month I'm not confident even that would work. I'm guessing Google has just decided it is too old to be supported, my bank has no problem allowing me to make contactless payments with it but google doesn't, and of course according to them it's for my own safety. My guess is that the next step will be to limit this app to pixel devices only with google claiming that they are the only secure android devices because they are the only ones google has control over updates etc. to. Google is the new Apple apparently.

App was working fine last week but now I can't pay for anything. I wake up my phone and place it near the terminal but the app just doesn't even start or engage with the terminal. I have unistalled and reinstalled it and even opened the app and selected the card I want to use but it still doesn't do anything. I had to leave my shopping at the shop the other day and go and borrow money off my naughbour until my wife returned home to pay them back. Very Inconvenient.

Makes paying with your phone super easy. Never takes more than a second to activate. It's nice to have data about the business included in the transaction but in my experience it's been horribly inaccurate. Often it will link up with a business across the street.

I tried to Google pay in MacDonald. Once I put my mobile phone close to detector, it immediately show up warning "you take away your mobile too quick" which I was not. Tried 3 times and get the same warning message. I have to give up because some many people are watching me in the queue. Will never try it again.

Used this app for the first time last week. Everything went well with the purchase than recieved an unathorized charge from google for $9.99.... With no explanation does it cost to use this app service.... Well after a quick email i recieved a satisfactory response and have updated my initial rating.....thank you for your response.

It tells me that my debit card is a prepaid card when it actually IS NOT! When I try to add my bank account, I get an error message. I read the reviews and and they are all pretty sad. Maybe I shouldn't pursue trying to use this app. All of the reviews in tge recent thread are pretty sad.

great idea but there is no security whatsoever. im not sure if its a region thing, but i am unable to enable the setting to require verification for sending money. this means that i CANNOT make google pay require my google PIN or fingerprint to protect my virtual card. a.k.a. someone can just press the lock button and without even unlocking my phone can make purchases. VERY UNSECURE :///

It keeps removing cards from contactless payments. Can't tell you how many times I have tried to pay only for it not to work, and how many times I have had to register my card again. Frustrating and unreliable, not what you want from a payment app.

The app can store your cards and reward program cards but fails to provide and form of display optimisation. No sorting functionality, ability to add notes like when you signed up or when the card expires. Limited ability to generate the barcodes and QR codes for reward Id's that have been manually entered. Overall use stocard or something else unless you need the link to other Google services to pay for subscriptions or in app purchases.

SUCKS!! ONLY WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO! It tries to tell you your phone is moving too fast when your phone is literally just sitting there on the terminal,. About 90% of the time it refuses to read the card. So you're standing there looking like an idiot at checkout because it never wants to work. I don't recommend this app!!

Sent money without my authorization that Google wouldn't return even with the recipients confirmation of what happened. Got an updated credit card, can't change it through app or website. Called Google support, gentleman said he took care of it. Just tried to use the card/Google pay, card declined.

Improving review rating - I have been able to use it to store more loyalty cards lately. Google, check "Eventbrite" they don't support your app like they said in early 2018 Please make it where I can add MORE apps, tickets, DRIVER'S LICENSE, etc. to my secure, Titan chip Pixel 3's encrypted wallet!

Such a convenience! I use this app for check in and check out at public transport, paying bills at restaurants and much more. Earlier i used to carry too many cards all for different purposes and managing them used to become difficult. But anymore :)

Cannot get myki to work on my s9+. Keep getting the message of moving too fast, even when mot moving at all. Have tried many times both in and out of phone case. No one can help me. Have basically lost money I put on myki as they will not give refund either.

Used to be brilliant and used continuously. Now it wants me to double check details of a card that I've used on the app for years and is unable to get past this, rendering the app useless.

It's been straightforward and painless with my credit cards. Google pay seems to set off the fraud alert and Shell station specifically. Other than that If you leave your card at the house this is an excellent backup.

Really useful app, can pay seamlessly and safely. It is easy to use and makes paying for in app purchases quick and safe. Ideal for if you don't have your card as well, instant payments are a breeze.

I installed it on my Android phone and at first I was really excited but then it went away as it did not give me an option to add my myki I am really disappointed please make it so I can add my myki which was the whole reason I installed it please fix this.

It was quick and easy but very difficult to know when it does not work. As there will be no indicator whether this app is actually working or it's that reading machine does not have required sensors

Easy and fun. The only problem is it is incredibly hard to maintain a mental tab on your spending, this is bad. Terrible shame I'm not rich, then I could give it 5*s!

Never had a problem with this, works every time. Up to the £30 contactless limit it requires screen on only, over that limit requires unlocking phone, which I use a fingerprint for authentication. Simple.

Updated review: Reinstallation took a while to figure out so I could update my information without freezing screens. Not sure how well it will consistently work yet, as I will update this review in a few weeks' time.

I can't even set up a single card. The more and continue buttons don't work, and the screen freezes randomly. I'm so confused. Is no one working on bug fixes for this product? Do better.

Its wonderful thing to have especially if ur going out and don't wanna bring along ur card because ur scared of losing it or just dont have a purse and etc. This works great. I love seeing that transitions come across the top.

I realized my phone doesn't have NFC but Google pay doesn't tell me that it needs NFC to pay when setting up a payment method or looking at an existing one. The app doesn't give much indication either way of whether contactless payment will work.

I was able to finish my verification process for linking my cashcard paypal mastercard onto google pay thanks to their customer service. I was taken through steps on how to finish my verification process when my verification code would not arrive to my phone number nor email. Now my paypal card shows up on google pay! Thanks!

Very quick and easy way to pay...I'd avoided this method for a while but going with the flow has been easy. I like that I can see a record of payments....useful.

This is a fantastic service and app that helps you and gives you peace of mind I have forgotten my wallet a couple of times and it has safe me. Is also very friendly to use and the information and security behind it gives some peace of mind.

Since I started using G Pay, I rarely take my wallet with me when I go out. Everything, I mean everything, I safely kept in G Pay: my point cards, my loyalty card, my library card, my credit cards, my debit card, you name it. I sometimes totally forget where my wallet might be these days, cuz I don’t need it anymore. Oh, how much I love the freedom this app gives me, and the comfort of not having to carry a heavy and bulky wallet with me everywhere any longer. Yaay!

Hello I'm bringing to your attention that the lastest update has a bug that keeps constantely showing a popup saying "Unfortunately Google Pay has stop working" even though I use the app and see that it is working.

This app seemed good until the time I forgot my wallet at home. The payment option was reset and it wanted me to verify my 16 digit in order to activate an already activated and unchanged card. You went full retard Google!

Works well, but security could be a bit better. Rather than security on the phone being open or closed, it should be a pin or fingerprint on the app itself!

It's good but I found my old iPhone experience better. It doesn't instantly show on the home screen a notification of the card and cost but it still work at the same terminals.

Really easy to use. Helps you organise and you don't have to go through all the trouble of converting my money into other currency when I'm away; because Monzo does it for me :)

It works as advertised, set up with the card you choose. Just hold your phone next to the vendor's terminal and it works just like swiping or inserting your card. Great app!

I am facing a problem with my saved debit card. Now application says that they have facing problems with my saved debit card. Same time other payment application do successfully payment. My all old history also not showing. Help required

I have love this app. It is very easy and convenient to use. It saves time as i can complete a financial transaction using this app within approximately 5-10 seconds.

Google pay is great, switching accounts is easy but there should be a pay bottum and conformation or at least that should be optional, also regarding the passes or royalty program, you should be also able to add a custom card for stores that are not shown

Please make contactless payments work on rooted devices and/or devices with unlocked bootloaders. If you're concerned about security, all you need to do is warn the user that they continue at their own risk. Rating will be increased when this has been resolved.

Google pay has made things a lot easier. Now, I don't have to take my wallet out every time I need to pay for something. Google pay keeps all my cards. Great app!

Very easy to setup and use, just wake up and tap as opposed to having to swipe up for application such as samsung pay. Would be nice to have more cards available.

This app keeps on disconnecting my card when I'm on the train. It also occasionally takes ages to resync my card so I cannot use it for travel services if I try to do it in that spot. So if I try to use it for opal, I'm in trouble.

I had a good first time using it but I can not use it now. I have a Google pay card and it will not let me pay. It is not a credit or debit card so it do not have a check number to get it going.

So far so good! Just trying it out. I love that it encrypts info from your bank! It also displays a transaction list for you. Very nice!

I used this app to receive money from another Google pay user and its taking 9 days to recieve the funds. This is useless to me. I don't see the benefit of this app when I can get my money instantly with the PayPal app.

I had TD Bank open for NFC pay, for some reason Googe Pay pops up instead and overides it. I checked my settings and it is not set to overide the default payment app. I ended up paying with the wrong credir card because of google

Used many times, works well and makes for a quick check out. Update no problem at all with Google pay and will continue to use.

Need to be able to add a custom pass. I have membership cards for places that are not listed in Google pay. No way to add them (except for Adding it to a wrong company)

Works seamlessly between stores and bank services that are linkable. Pin can be set up for in store purchases. 5 stars for ease of setup and in-store use.

I love google pay. Tech support could definately be improved though. I have experienced 2 'outages' and had to wait for a specialist team to fix my account.

I was dubious at first but being able to add all the loyalty cards has turned things around, my wallet has never been so empty (not just poor)

Works great. Easy to set up and to use. Very convenient when you don't want to pull out the wallet and swipe your card. A simple tap to pay and it's good to go. I love this app.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I've only been using it for a few days, this Gpay is great. Fast, easy & very convenient. Love it!

Love it and use it every day (for all purchases under a $100). Easy, quick and painless. Only issue (with most mobile pays) is that for security they create a virtual card number and if you return something to a store where they only refund to same card, you can't do it. Number on receipt will be different then your physical card and they won't go by phone, so sometimes store credit is all they will refund. A rare case for me but something to think about in case you may return an item.

This sucks. It's slow. Declines cards when they work just fine. Spams me with stuff that i don't care about. Dont waste your time... use your card and be done with it.

So easy! Just tap, grab receipt, walk away. Turn on/off with a click. Configurable to be as secure as you want it.

Pointless, it doesn't work. I tried to use it with my Note 9, and it did absolutely nothing at the register with and without my case on. I tried it along with two employees at Whole Foods where Google Pay its accepted.

It was a very in-depth setup, but glad to know that not anyone can set up my debit card to their google pay. Easy to use.

New to revolut, few weeks only,, I am still testing it. So far so good, no issues. Exchange from NOK to GBP ok. Payment in EUR ok. Checked the interbank xe rate, ECB vs revolut, quite close.

Google Pay is an extremely useful app and the record of purchases is a great function. A great way to pay and manage your credit cards.

I love this app for quickly sending money. Only thing I can think of to be improved is to filter by incomplete transactions.

I had used Google Pay to pay three bills from my phone. My card was compromised by a fourth that was not authorized. This bill was for municiple tax payments for another city all together. So much for all the security it toutes.

I used to have Samsung pay which I had to enter a password before each transaction but with this you just wake up the phone and hold it to the card reader and ur done. Love this

Adding cards can be frustrating depending on your bank. Once setup things work well. I can leave some of my cards at home now i guess.

I am very very happy about everything and how simple it to use the user-interface and how i can put my rewards cards on it and bot worry about losing them. 10/10 for perfection!

Great app no issues what so ever. Only thing I'd say is that you get some discounts once using it after a while but nothing major

Very easy to use, makes life alot easier for me and allows multiple payment in the same day with clear notifications of each payments including addresses.

Only had it a few days, but seems great so far. A few of my cards wouldn't work with Samsung Pay so I did Google. No issues yet

Getting there. I think it will soon be much more versatile with more cards. But for now it works smooth with the few cards I can connect with it

More convenient than a myki card and convenient when you don't want to take your wallet out. Lack of security on small transactions is a little unsettling

I'm trying to verify a paypal cash plus card to use in stores, despite changing the verification number to the one I use now, this app insists on using my old number that I can't access and it won't change.

Works well enough for NFC transactions but Google Passes is (still) woefully inadequate. Apple's Passbook came out in 2012 and it has had widespread adoption ever since. But with Google Passes, here we are in 2019 and you still cannot add your AMC Stubs card, AAA dropped their support, and there's a host of popular loyalty cards that are just not available. What gives?? After 5 years of using an Android this is exactly the kind of thing that makes me want to go back to an iPhone.

The app is fair. I find the deals good. It is convenient. It is slow running without cellular data, just using WiFi.

Suddenly the Google pay is not compatible with my phone and have had it for along time why is it happening?!!

Half the time it doesn't work. I need to restart my phone and update the app....e.g. whilst waiting at a self service checkout till....and even then I'm lucky if it works & I have a Google Pixel 2XL. Pretty poor from Google

Love this app! Has made the hassle of having a billion loyalty cards a breezeI don't even remind you to use the loyalty cards at the check out!

Extremly fast and reliable. Best way to pay. I have almost stopped using my physical cards because of this.

The app is very useful indeed but the security has to be improved. When making a purchase the user has to have the phone unlocked which I don't think it's secure enough. There should be an extra layer of authentication (asking for a code/fingerprint) in order to finalize paying with the phone. If you are affraid that people will stop using the app because "maybe there are too many steps" then you should give the users the possibility of choosing of they want to authenticate once more or not.

It is a nice and useful app to make purchases BUT I wish they add a lock to the app(fingerprint lock) so people who use my device can not access the app and make purchases with it....

Oh the consolidation! I am so glad my bank supports Google Pay. Great to have all my loyalty cards in one app. Now it just making sure the retailer's have tap 🤔

Useless unless you live in USA or Germany. If you have contactless cards you do NOT need this app. It will just make you an easier target for fraudsters.

All you need to do is yap your phone to make payments. Solid. Especially love the tactility of when it vibrates as you tap it on the. Contactless pad

This was working great until suddenly it began telling me that my phone was too old to use it after the most recent update. In app there's an update button, which brings me to the Play Store, which tells me I have the latest version. According to the app version number, I am updated, but apparently that's what broke it. Please fix this and stop embarrassing me when my payment won't go through!

Worked fine a few weeks ago, but now it won't even start, it just throws up a white popup box with a continuous loading icon in the middle of the screen, every so often if I leave it long enough it FC's (forced closes). I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it with the same results, (Samsung Galaxy Note 8). I may as well uninstall it permanently now.

I cannot get this to work on my note 10 plus , uninstalled reinstalled , added card removed card etc no joy . Real shame as I used this all the time for payment

Works like it should. Be good if you could require finger print activation for security, rather than just powering the phone.

One of the easiest apps to use, feels more secure than using my card with all the skimmers found in our area.

Extremely easy to use. Since I have used both, I can say its easier and better than Samsung Pay

Quick and easy. Handy if you have left your card at home. Obly drawback is £30 limit.

Would rate 0 if possible. Support does NOT exist that I have found. Update "What's new" description has been identical since at least early November 2018. Updated review three times, still same update listed. Online update descriptions are all the same: you can divide a bill between friends, blah, blah. Google Pay online help is no further assistance. No response via the numerous email requests to Google for update details, not even an automated reply. What is Google changing?

I used to use this app to pay for EVERY purchase.... I Recently switched to TD (checking) Account There doesn't seem to be any blockage.. Thank you! Kelly Pritchard

Works fine, but no app use security! If someone gets hold of your phone, all they have to do is wake the screen up to use it for payments. I hVe looked in the settings, but there is no way to set it up for, either, a pass code or fingerprint or facial recognition. Serious security problem!
