Works, but I now also have the same problem where you can not renew a line which is very frustrating. No way to search in texts. If your compose a text and then switch to a different app (to, say, copy a link) and then switch back to burner then the text is GONE forever, again very frustrating. If only they could fix these relatively small issue, would really be a great service. UPDATE 10/29/21: Yep, confirmed with the developer that they changed the policy without notice and if you have a prepaid line that you want to extend and you push the "Extend" button like you always have in the past - now it just does not work, and when you contact them, they tell you that you now have to buy a subscription plan. :(

Works seamlessly though we no longer have the option to create shorter term burner numbers e.g., ones that expire in a week or two. Instead, the shortest burner you may now purchase expires in 30 days. It's unclear what prompted the decision to limit prepaid burners to a minimum of 30 days but it's notable because shorter burners were sensible and cost effective options that are no longer offered, and that's too bad.

Got one line. Unable to activate or use the other two I'm paying for. Customer service is worthless. This is a ok app as far as functionality. But the bait and switch is thick... canceling account today. Good on the boiler plate customer service responses. That's what I've had the last month of trying to address and resolve this. And yes I sent an email to customer no service. Lol... Go scam someone else. Not me...

19 Nov: Still great, but is it now for SLEDDING - as in use of word "onboarding"? Great app for having a "private" number for calls and texts with lots of features. I've been using for 6+ months. My only gripe is that when in an SMS conversation with texts back and forth such as conversing w a Shipt shopper, only the FIRST txt has notification sound and have to watch screen for subsequent ones.

It was buggy and never notified me of calls or messages, even when I had the app open. I canceled my subscription through Google play, deleted my burner numbers and yet I'm still being charged for an active subscription. Miserable service.
May Day Plan
I used to use this app quite a bit but it no longer works very well at all. It's a nightmare just trying to purchase credits to get a line because you can't choose which Google account you want to use and the app won't add cards, keeps giving an error message, just a mess.

I just received a notice that my minutes were low so I selected "Extend" as Ive done the past four years. However it no longer offers you the prepaid pricing but only offers "subscription" This is a very sneaky way to try and force people to subscribe. Pissed!!!! I emailed Burner and they said they no longer offer prepaid pricing. I was correct that you are now forced to subscribe! They knew this when they responded to my review, they just dont want to publichly state it.

UPDATED REVIEW: This will be my last month using this app. Burner no longer works. Call Forwarding has been discontinued and incoming calls do not ring and shows as missed calll. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Great App! I have used all phone apps on market and Burner has no comparison, it's the best. My only issue is not being able to use a landline to make calls. You can setup to receive calls on landline but are limited to make calls only from the cell number used when registering the account.

READ!!! DRAINS BATTERY IN ZERO TIME FLAT!! The latest update not inly keeps app active but continuously contacts corporate servers! An extended battery which normally lasts 10 days now only lasts less than 1 day!!! Remove the app, back up to 10 days!! Serious flaw BUT they changed the software to do this on purpose!! Totally un-needed!!! STAY AWAY, DELETE + GO ELSEWHERE!! All the forums are talking about this and EVERYONE is beyond furious!!! You have been warned people!!

My friend explained how it works for him but it isnt working that way for me. For me, i use burner to make a call, it calls my number instead of the number i dial (confirmed this), and sends me a text while ringing, i dont answer it of course and yes my vm picks up. That is it. That's how burner works.
