The get me there app lets you buy selected tickets and travelcards for Greater Manchester’s Metrolink tram system anytime, anywhere, without the need to queue at a ticket machine. 

You can choose from a range of tickets and travelcards that either let you travel between two specified stops or anywhere on the Metrolink network. Make your purchase and download it to your phone before you board the tram and then all you need to do is display your ticket or travelcard on your phone if asked to do so by a member of Metrolink staff.

The get me there app also lets you store your payment details securely, so there’s no need to enter them every time you make a purchase. And if you make the same journey regularly, the app will store your last purchase so you can easily buy it again.

    This app has worked fine before but I'm experiencing the same problem recently that it's not letting me buy my normal ticket. On the homepage, I will click on the buy tickets button, it will take much longer to load and an error message will pop up saying it was unable to connect to server when my internet connection works fine. Don't understand why this is happening especially since the app notified users that they are improving the app and that it should affect buying tickets.

    Dont use this ap. There are plenty of times it will fail to load your ticket or to connect to buy a ticket. It also has a hide ticket function?!?!? Why?!? I got fined because I'd acidently pressed this, the inspectors didn't know as they didn't ask me to check and the appeals wouldnt even check if I had purchased. Stick to cash, use the machines, if there broke press the help button.

    Very basic app which frustratingly takes far too many keystrokes to do what could be a couple of them. I don't see why the app cant notify you of a season ticket going out of date, as I have to check several times to check if my ticket is still valid. Unreliable, which isn't great for a ticket app.

    I cannot rely on this app to get me a ticket. it works about 1 time in 3 re. i have had frequent conversations with support but they are uninterested in fixing the problem. Many weeks later. On a new phone, latest operating system, i installed the app first and it didn't work. They say the problem is with my phone. Ok don't see how it can be! When it does work it is really annoying that you can't just by the same ticketas yesterday with a couple of clicks.

    Totally disappointed. The issues being experienced by an ever increasing number of people has not been addressed. Despite being assured that the developers are working on a solution, the "cannot connect to server" issue still exists. Simply not good enough! App uninstalled yet again.

    Like others I've had a lot of issues with reliability. App used to work fine and saved time on going to ticket machine. However, recently can't get beyond the home page. Constantly says can't connect to server despite having full network connection. Customer service advised to uninstall and reinstall but still doesn't work. Spent more time trying to buy ticket on the app than at the ticket machine which defeats the purpose of the app! Also, when it does work the range of tickets is poor.

    Unreliable due to longstanding intermittent server connection issues (not fixed by reinstalling app or using different phone). Too many steps to purchase ticket. Why did the developers choose to use the android keyboard (small buttons) for numerical entries rather than the number pad (much bigger buttons)?

    Clunky, slow, usually pretends I haven't bought a ticket unless I close and reopen it a few times, which leads to some pretty suspicious ticket inspectors, no way to transfer tickets between devices, and they've increased my travelcard prices by 30%! It's almost not worth even buying one...

    App is unreliable as in it often gives message "can't connect to server, please check your network connection" while other services (e.g. Facebook, e-mail) are working fine, not even slow, so it's not a mobile data issue it's either performance of Metrolink server or app problem.

    Too many presses are required to select zones and tickets. Eg 6 presses to select all-day all-zone travel card. Basket screen has no payment option; that is on yet another screen. Even after saving your payment details they are not selected by default. Yet another two presses are required to confirm you eant to use them, even if there is only one card linked to your account. Does not seem to be compatible with Google pay.

    Mixed experience sometimes works others not. Often doesn't work on busy days. Recently had no connection error for over a week. Took customer service nearly a week to send the solution. Not a reliable app. Now same no connection error is permanently there- app hasn't worked for over a week- used the suggested fix procedure but still doesn't work.

    App crashes often and is quite buggy. It often doesn't show my 28day ticket everytime I go on the app. Luckily it shows if I go through the buying ticket options and then back out. I do worry everytime though that this may one day not work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to try and fix this issue to no avail.

    Crashes regularly and keeps saying you have no ticket until you refresh the list. Commuters want to keep their ticket valid, but of course there's no notification/reminder that your ticket has ran out. Hope you remember before the inspectors come round!

    Dreadful - literally doesn't work. All you get is an error message saying you're not connected to the internet when you are. Given it is meant to provide s public service it is appalling. Emailed the help details, no response. Stick to touching in and out. One star is generous.

    Doesn't accept cards starting in 2020 meaning you can't use it if you have a new card. Absolutely pathetic and shoddy development to not have this already selectable! Goes to show the general service people get and can expect from the metro link.

    Pointless. This thing can never establish a connection with the server despite me being connected to the internet. I downloaded a month ticket and the thing wouldn't even display half the time because it couldn't access the server. I can't even buy tickets now or even log in. Uninstalled.

    Sometimes doesn't show your purchases so either you panic when the inspector comes in the tram or think you haven't got a ticket and I've actually bought another ticket. Also sometimes very slow to load.

    This app is awful. Never connects to the server. Tells me to make sure I have a secure connection whether I'm connected to my Wi-Fi at home, in public, or using data. Just buy your ticket from the machine, this app is a waste of time and storage.

    Pretty Much Useless Got the "get me there" card and now using it for weekly bus travel and cannot register the card and manage my account, buy the system one weekly pass from the app and be able to use the get me there card. I have get me there card that's not linked in anyway to my get me there app, that's ridiculous.

    Unacceptable rubbish. People rely on this for their commuting and it's this bad. Takes ages to open. Often falsely says you have no tickets until you close and reopen the app. Sometimes tickets you buy don't show up on the menu immediately and you end up double-buying. No route planning.

    Never connects to server... ever. UX elements are atrocious. How can you have a DOB entry field that won't let you select individual year, or months, you have to scroll month by month through the years. Can't use PayPal. We are nearly in 2020 aren't we??

    1. Really needs a notification to remind user when ticket is running out. 2. Why do you need access to phone calls? 3. Suddenly just crashed and wouldn't open at all, so I had to uninstall and reinstall it. What was that all about? 4. If you like feeling constantly anxious as you're worried you might've forgotten to buy a ticket cause your ticket might've expired without you knowing or that the app suddenly stops working while the tram staff is checking your ticket, then this app is for you!

    When it works the app is ok, but it often stops working. This seems to be particularly true when they have done updates, meaning you have to uninstall, reinstall log back in and re-add payment details. There are also a lot of "Couldn't connect to the server" issues too. The devs need to come up with a better way than customers uninstalling etc. It's frustrating.

    Useless app, couldnt use it to buy a bus ticket despite the website saying its the easiest way to do so. There's no easy way to buy metro or bus tickets that work across all modes of transport and with different bus providers - travel across Great Manchester is a fragmented joke!

    To say this app is easy to use would definitely be a stretch of some kind of deranged imagination. The app does not show any attention to quality and most frustratingly the icon doesn't represent the name of the actual app. Get me there. 'My' doesn't appear in those words. The service is often unavailable and making a validation error on the payment screen forces you to restart the entire journey and it's been like that for MONTHS.

    I've had this app for a long time now and it just literally doesn't work. Can't "connect to server" after pressing the initial buy button and on the 1 time out of 20 you actually get past that bit, it still doesn't work when trying to checkout your tickets from the basket. I'm using a OnePlus 6 on Virgin Media. Not sure if it's one of these that the app can't deal with.

    It's great as a means to buy a season ticket and not having to carry an additional card around, however my main bugbear is that you can't fully switch your account from one device to another (as I've had to this month: broken phone/temp replacement/new phone). So if you've already bought a season ticket and, for whatever reason, you need to change devices, you have to call get them to sort it out. You also lose payment history in the process. They need to unify all of this to reduce friction.

    Don't rely on this app. I use it pretty much daily. Then one day the app failed to launch repeatedly right as a ticket inspector came on board. Eeek. I had the email receipt which wasn't really accepted ..... but lucky could show a pending charge with my Halifax banking app to show £7. The ticket inspector luckily was advised uninstall and reinstall. When I reinstalled I lost the daily ticket completely. I've stopped using this now and will purchase a more reliable way.

I used to use this as my way to buy tickets, but presumably an app update has now rendered it useless. Avoid, for now anyway.

    This is the worst app i have ever used, with no access for the last 5 days. I have tried everything, including trying to access it in flight mode (as suggested on their website). I have left feedback and emailed customer services but they haven't even had the decency to reply to me. At the moment i am stuck with it as i have a month's ticket on it, at the cost of £100. If there isnt an alternative I will have to find another mode of transport. I only gave it 1 to leave this review. It's a 0.

This would be hugely useful to me if it worked. Your tech/app people really need to up their game, massively. Not fit for purpose.

    Can't use on One Plus 5T. Installed several times and constantly receive the error "unable to connect to server" either on WiFi or Mobile. Noticed others with One Plus phones are having the same issue. The app loads but you can't buy, load tickets or click on any link despite strong, active connections. Please fix.

    Worst app ever, so slow you can miss your tram waiting for it to connect with it's ellusive server. If you so much as look at it wrongly it cancells your attempt and forces you back to the beginning. It is just easier to go to the tram stop and buy a ticket from the machine (if it's working of course).

    The worst app on my phone. Never, ever works - all you ever get is server issue when trying to buy a ticket. The very odd time it works and takes you to the next screen after pressing buy about 50 times in a row. 9/10 I end up buying a paper ticket after repeatedly trying on this shocking app.

    Relatively useless. Often crashes. One time after closing the app and reopened it, it decided to move its own time forwards and take away my ticket for no reason. If you're trying to use it on wifi, don't bother. Just use a ticket machine where they work.

    Would be nice if the app has notifications when the tickets ends since I get 28days pass and some time the app says I don't have active ticket when my ticket haven't expired and hard to explain to the people that check my ticket. And it doesn't work I normally get 28 days pass on my last 3 days they refuse to give me money back on those those 3 days so if you are getting 28days DO NOT get it from app

    Keeps crashing and keeps trying to connect to server almost daily. Also when i do manage to buy a ticket the damn thing sticks amd i have to install and uninstal and put card numbers in again etc. A real hassle... Three months down the line and still the same thing.

    Payment processing is slow and lagging on iOS and on android does not seem to work at all! Just wouldn't connect, even though I have access to internet, it would bring up the server access error and keeps asking to check the network connection.

    Easy to buy tickets and never had issues. Suggestion : All ok but wish we could buy passes in advance. Also, App doesn't offer reminders on expiring passes. We should avoid situations where we miss to recharge assuming a 28 day pass is still valid. Thank you.

    Personally I haven't had any issues with this app on my One Plus 5 and I've been using it regularly for coming up on a year. I've never had to uninstall /reinstall and only once had the correct to server issue that a number of people have referred to.

    The app has stopped working on my phone completely, after using it for over a year very frequently. Other than that it was a wonderful app, very convenient to have.

    Really sporadic in it's use, had loads of issues recently with not being able to use it on my Galaxy. When it works, it's fine but it's too unpredictable to be worth any more stars.

    This app requires access to make phone calls to run... No it doesn't. Clearly a case of incompetent development
