The get me there app lets you buy selected tickets and travelcards for Greater Manchester’s Metrolink tram system anytime, anywhere, without the need to queue at a ticket machine. 

You can choose from a range of tickets and travelcards that either let you travel between two specified stops or anywhere on the Metrolink network. Make your purchase and download it to your phone before you board the tram and then all you need to do is display your ticket or travelcard on your phone if asked to do so by a member of Metrolink staff.

The get me there app also lets you store your payment details securely, so there’s no need to enter them every time you make a purchase. And if you make the same journey regularly, the app will store your last purchase so you can easily buy it again.

App is down.. I did use this app to get my tram tickets but it's been down for nearly a week.. please fix it! The iOS app has a notification saying that the "servers are busy" but nothing on Android! You can also improve the checkout page by making it more intuitive (e.g. use keypad for entering CVC)

Horrendous. It's so unreliable I've uninstalled it. This means I'll have to make a trip next time I buy my monthly ticket, since the ticket machines only let you buy a ticket going from the stop they are situated on and I don't always set off from the same stop. I'm not sure what on earth metrolink spend all the money from their fare increases on, but I can guarantee they don't spend it on this app as it has gotten worse over time, not better.

This is the Get Me There app, so why doesn't it service the buses as well, the Get Me There card does! Useless, we currently have situation in Manchester where you can use this app to get the trams, a separate app for First Bus and Stagecoach has an app. As the buses have monopolies on the different routes it is not uncommon to have to use different companies to complete a fairly simple journey within the city. Why can't we have a fully integrated system on an app as well as the card?

The app is terrible. I've followed the instructions they give to make using it better. It constantly stops working, you can't open it. When you can it's loading time is ridiculous and causes no end of hassle. The interface at the very least should allow me to buy a ticket. That's the apps main purpose.

Terrible app, terrible service all round. So many steps involved to buy a ticket. Want to buy 2? Can't. Want to buy your off peak ticket just before 9:30? Can't. When it actually comes to it the app won't work and you'll be at the mercy of metrolink enforcers.

Terribly unreliable. Just missed a tram now: "Sorry we are unable to contact server.". Whenever one tries to buy tickets. Also the ticket price is too high (bus travel apps generally give a discount).

Needs work on interface. Eg to enter my date of birth required over 300 clicks backwards in the calendar. Buying a ticket takes far too many screens. Compare this with the Oyster card system!!

Not fit for purpose. Over the last few years, three different Samsung devices, sometimes it will open, sometimes it won't; sometimes it will connect to server, sometimes it won't. Should be given to a new developer. Also now has deleted my stored cards.

It simply doesn't work, with it constantly being unable to connect with the server or hanging on "wait a minute" messages. On the very rare occasions when it does work it's absolutely fine. Currently it's the worse app on my phone. I suggest they find a better developer.

Utter joke. App has been unable to connect to server for two weeks as of today. And in that time just one email from support that makes no promises of it ever being fixed. Another shining example of when outsourcing work diminishes accountability. Somebody please fix it so we can commute to work in ease and not queue for tickets.

Annoying I can't buy multiple tickets for multiple people... I. E. Myself my partner and my child... We all have to do It separately.. So delete the app and use the machines at the station.

Absolutely garbage. It was working fine but for the last 2 month's it has never been able to connect to the server. I have followed the advice of uninstalling and reinstalling the app but still doesn't work. Shame because it was a very convenient app. Unfortunately it doesn't work.

Let's start with what's good about this app; - Nothing And onto the bad; - Needs an internet connection to manage tickets and sometimes view for no reason. - Fails to work and ironically puts you at risk of being fined by Metrolink. - There's never a queue at any ticket machies so there's no benefit to this app (which actually takes longer to buy a ticket on vs a machine). - Tickets cannot be transferred without calling Metrolink. Service is great but there's no reason for this considering the lengths of verification you have to go through just to download a ticket. I really do not understand why the app is not integrated with the adequately named 'Metrolink' app and why it doesn't download a paper ticket replica or something along the lines of eTickets like trains offer. The current system is slow and depends on having an internet connection along with a functioning app (which this is not).

This is such an important everyday app yet TFGM cannot get it right. It never 'connects to the server' meaning when you need your ticket, you cannot buy it and risk getting fined. Hopefully when they change to the London zones fair ranking, they'll also get a professional person from London to redesign the app! Such a shame for such a simple task!

Doesn't work. Stuck on the first screen saying "hold on a minute" never loads. Then if by rare chance it does it will say "can't connect to network" but they'll never accept fault with their service and give you a fine regardless.

When it works its really good. It's just rare that it does. Needs a lot of work. Been using this for a year and it's starting to do my head in. Think I will just be sticking to paper tickets.

Can never use the app, all it ever says is that it can't connect me to the server, tried to uninstall and reinstall, use over WiFi or 4G and still doesn't work, absolute rubbish so metrolink trying to save money on paper by printing tickets is clearly not the case! All my other apps work fine so i know it isnt my problem.. Sort it out metrolink!

It simply doesn't work.... Can't connect to the server 10 out of 10! If an app can't operate the basic functions, then I don't really see the point of having one.

Absolutely dreadful. Considering how much of a busy city Manchester is this app is absolutely useless. I thought the First Bus app was bad at times but this is absolutely terrible! It never connects! Sort the f**cking app out already! Absolutely pathetic.

I constantly struggle to connect to server even when have good wifi or mobile data available!! Not reliable when you are attempting to buy a ticket last minute. I had to walk in the rain this morning as yet again could not get on.

Everything about your app is poorly designed and optimised. You can hardly use it without it saying it cannot connect for whatever reason.

It is very unreliable for an app that needs to be reliable. Big let down. But metrolink has communication issues so shouldn't have had high expectations.

When you actually get it open (Which is about half of my attempts) it too often fails to accept payment because either it can't verify my card, can't reach it's servers or it either locks up and needs to be forced closed or it force closes itself during payment processing. The only solution is to keep trying. You WILL eventually get your ticket, on your second attempt on a good day. I don't want to use this app but the ticket machines at my stop are ALWAYS broken. I can't remember the last time the card reader worked and they just covered over the notes in slot. Why? Well I actually asked and they told me to get this rubbish app as an answer.

Absolutely terrible app!!! I missed a tram because I couldn't buy a ticket on the tram stop, as the tram had already approached the stop. And this app only has one feature "servers are down" so I had to wait for the next tram and waste about 20 minutes and even missed my important lab! The most unreliable app ever!

Since the latest update it won't work, at all. Has been buggy for a long time but now is completely broken.

I've had this app for a couple of months and not been able to use it once, it constantly says it's can't process because I'm not connected to the internet, when I very much am. Waste of time.

The most unreliable app I have ever used. It constantly crashes, won't open, or connect to the servers. It needs a complete overhaul.

Continual crashing. Genuinely unusable. EDIT- emailed support, advised reinstalling app and now seems stable. Might be worth trying.

Simply fails to open. I bought a weekly ticket but risk a fine because I cannot open the app to prove it. Dreadful.

A shockingly slow app, prone to bugs and complete shut downs of service, for what should be a fairly simple function. Not good enough for a modern, growing city like Manchester!

I've paid £93 for my monthly pass. Now I can't open the App? It's on my Samsung j5. I've restarted my device several times and also uninstalled and the installed again nothing works. I can't get hold of get me there for any help. I've no idea what to do but I'm at risk of being charged the £100 fee as I'm on the tram now and can't open the app!!!!

it just doesn't work consistently enough. your at risk from buying a ticket just to then have to buy a paper ticket. fix it or close the app.

Hardly works. Again not working this morning. Supposed to help with not queuing and messing at machines. Maybe instead of using money on the app put more machines at stops

It's been so unreliable the last few months, it's unbelievable. Given the fact that they hike the prices up every year, you would think that they can afford to create an app that works.

I have to press a lot of buttons to buy a ticket. It only remembers the last ticket i purchased. If i need to change ticket type i need to enter all the details. Would be much better to have my standard start and end available and to change details. Plus would be good tonhave Google Pay not just Apple Pay.

Constant 'cannot connect to server' error, even with full 4G or Wi-Fi. Clunky, unreliable and frustrating. Not happy about having to waste paper buying a ticket. But this terrible app has forced me to.
