Global Epidemic Prevention Project(GEPP) is aimed to help the Republic of Ghana to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases. It simultaneously operates by informing Ghana Health Service of national travelers (app users) who travel to epidemic-prone countries or local areas by pushing app messages on disease information and prevention measures to its app users for pre-response during their stay in the concerned areas. The sole objective of the information collected shall be used to build a strong national public health system that is able to: i. Maintain active surveillance of diseases and public health events; ii. Rapidly investigate reports, assess public health risk, share information to allow implementation of public health control measures at national level; iii. Be prepared to rapidly respond to unexpected internationally spreading events; iv. Continuously assess the global picture of public health risks (global risk assessment)
