The app is good for finding the lowest-priced gas, but it's misleading - they compare prices with their discount. So it might look like one place has a lower price because they have a gasbuddy affiliation, and you won't get that discount without using the gasbuddy credit card. --- I've got the credit card, but have found that the discounts are often wrong, and always less. For example, it might show that a station has gas for $2.72 when in fact it's $2.78 with a 6 cent discount. The 6 cent discount is 3 cents for using the card, and another 3 cents for enabling the timed "deal". However, the "deal" will ususally end up being less. --- Here's an example: I saw a discounted price of $2.729, which was $2.789 at the pump with a 6 cent discount. I bought 15.531 gallons. You'd think there'd be a 93 cent discount, right? Nope - 47 cents for using the card (3 cents a gallon) and 30 cents for the "deal" which as far as I can tel lis 2 cents (not 3 cents) a gallon, rounded down. Net savings of 77 cents. --- 1 cent on a $3 gallon of gas is 1/3 of a percent. If you have a credit card that pays 3% cash back for gas purchases (or even 2%), that's 9 cents on a $3 gallon of gas, and you're much better off using that than the gasbuddy card. --- Oh, and don't fall for the "Premium" membership. It costs $10 a month and saves you an extra 20 cents a gallon with a limit of 50 gallons. In other words, the most you can save is $10 a month, and if you buy less than 50 gallons in a month, you lose. The best you can do is break even. My auto insurance policy includes roadside assistance for $1 a month ($6 in a 6 month policy), so this Premium thing is worthless.

Great way to find better gas prices near your. I'm surprised how much prices vary between stations just a few blocks apart, in some cases.

Not very useful for finding gas. Shows notifications with ads even when not in use.

I used to love this app. Not anymore! Almost all self service pumps now have a chip reader. You cannot "slide" your card. Emailed GasBuddy to ask how to use and they told me there is no way to use your card (obviously) in a chip reader and they have no plans to convert cards anytime soon. Oh but you can still use on the "deal alerts" by uploading your receipt. WRONG! They do not offer that option if it's less than 3¢ a gallon. It's always less than 3¢ without using their card.

It does a great job of helping me locate the best prices near my current location. That said, I had to turn off all alerts because of frequent, pointless, needy alerts when you don't use the card frequently enough. My vehicle gets good mileage so I only need to fill up about once every 2 weeks. Apparently that's an appallingly long time between fill ups from their point of view. This type of over-aggressive tactic makes me want to stop using them. No alert could possibly make me need more gas.

This app used to be my favorite app, but has now become almost useless because of all the fake prices reported. I have sat next to the gas pump and reported correct prices only to have them changed to completely wrong prices 3 or 4 minutes later. I have suspected that the management was doing it because when they jack the prices up 40 cents higher than the other stations in the area, people stop coming to their stores. But it just causes me to waste my gas driving to a place that has fake prices

It's a good app to find cheaper gas but could not get my card to work while out of town. Now there are several stations that list prices incorrectly, you arrive and gas is much higher. The price is not fluctuating that quickly, someone is reporting bad prices. At this point just go to your regular stations and see if they are on the app. Don't bother looking ahead to find which stations to go to. Too many incorrect prices.

This app was good earlier. Now the prices are frequently wrong, shown much lower than reality. Seems to me some people are deliberately reporting lower prices for some gas stations... probably to attract customers? There is no checks and balances here, it's all community sourced...so don't know how this problem can be resolved easily. Maybe have a rating system for people who report prices....and show the ratings next to the price reported by them. Maybe an algorithm should also be implemented.

I tried using the gb card at several stations and not one took it. I paid cash at a station that wouldn't take a card. GB wouldn't accept it unless it was on a card. VToday I found the deal at a station, activated it, SB card declined after entering my driver's license twice. Now there is no place that will accept a picture of the receipt on the site. No way to contact GB. Don't waste your time or space on your phone!

Prices less accurate than ever. The top reporters in my area have figured out that they gets points for ALL reports, accurate or not. There is no algorithm to catch this intentional gaming of the system. I report the people, but nothing happens. Why not have a system that recognizes when a price has been changed, then changed back to the original price, so the fraudulent price reporter in the middle can be warned, then have their point-earning or reporting suspended?
