Frequency Generator Sound player lets you generate a sine, square, sawtooth or triangle sound wave with a frequency between 1Hz and 22000Hz. It produces accurate tone while being simple and easy to use.

This sound generating app can be used in multiple use cases:

      ● You can test your hearing. Human being is capable of hearing frequencies in

average range of 20Hz-20000Hz. This range is getting smaller by the age.

      ● Testing your speakers for the high end (treble) and low end (bass) tones.

      ● Cleaning water from your smartphone speaker. Since sound is making small

vibrations it can help shaking of unwanted water from your speakers.

      ● Having fun and making experiments with sounds.

There is also an animated wave function which visually represents the sound for a given frequency.

You can change waveform by clicking on a round button at the left side and get different sound.

Adjust tone frequency using a slider, number pad or + and - buttons and press the play button.

In the App Settings you can choose if you want frequency sound to continue playing in the background when you minimize the App and also if you want to show an animation of the sound wave.

App ChangeLog

Since I have not used this app very often at the time of writing this review I am withholding 1 star. Although, my experience thus far has been very good. It has performed all its stated functions flawlessly without issue. I am currently using this app to check and adjust X-over points for active and passive X-over circuits in my speakers and other audio gear. I should point out that using this setup is very convenient due to the fact that it's portable and can connect wireless or with cables.

app It's great! I definitely recommend buying the pro version, because video ads are really annoying in an app that is useless if your volume is down.

  3. Trevor Eads-avatar

    Trevor Eads

pro apk Operates exquisitely. Boldly functional. Keep making these kind of related apps for functional tests/repair/exploration with hz difference in easy to wests standard reading. standard numbers display. 0 to infinity! And well beyond. Thunder and Lightning when you need a spark in a quiet room. It might urge you to make the next best soda pop or something.! Try it

apk App works fine, especially identifying 3-6-9 teslas & 432's but I paid $ for the pro version and still get bombarded with google ads. Thanks for robbing me of my $. Ripping people off is a poor business model.

  5. EGaming-avatar

pc There are some frequencies that are to dangerous for humans to hear. There needs to be a safety feature on this app to prevent people (like me) from harming themselves by accident. That said, app works great as it is supposed to.

  6. Brian Weeks-avatar

    Brian Weeks

download Inaudible below 120 Hz on sine wave setting. Well, my speaking voice averages around 65 Hz. according to voice tool app. I use that is reliable. When I sing my low chest voice down below 34 Hz and up to around 180 Hz . Not many singers can hit C1 but I do with volume. Uninstalling useless pile .

app download This works well, easy to understand interface, I use it to understand noises/sounds I can make and sound frequencies in my environment. Also good for testing your ears hearing frequency range by age(I like classical music so I do the best I can to protect my high frequency hearing). FUN TOOL, GOOD INTERFACE, WELL WRITTEN.

  8. DJClipBasslower-avatar

mod apk I use it for subwoofer testing and I would like to see above 20khz. These are called supersonic frequencies. Although not heard, like sub notes they're felt in the brain. Otherwise a dang good job on a material design and my choice for frequency testing. Seriously can't wait for more features. Maybe even a pro version could be possible?

  9. μbp-avatar

For those who don't want to sit through ads every time they turn off the tones follow these steps: open the app with internet connected, wifi/data, after the logo screen goes away turn on airplane mode. Now you will be able to play/pause tones without ads popping up every single time.

  10. Jamie Elton-avatar

Easy to use and runs in the background even with other apps running (Spotify, Google Podcasts etc) which is perfect if you have a Bluetooth speaker that keeps cutting off the start of sentences every time there is a gap of silence. Set this at 10hz and leave it running in the background and problem solved!

Super annoying ads, pop up in front of what you need to be doing. P.I.A. Try something else. Deleted after less than an hour.

My experience was amazing! The only thing is depending on ur volume level, the frequency 528 isn't 528.U'll have 2 dial tone it.U have 2 wear headphones & if u don't, u'll b close 2 frequency 528,but u need 2b exact. If u want it 2 do, what it's supposed to do.Many different frequencies can do a various number of things. It can literally help u out, with many different issues.I suggest look up what frequencies can do what,B4 u just start playing around.

  13. Alex Gubis-avatar

    Alex Gubis

It's helpful for tuning , but phones are unable to play some pf the frequencies. I would recommend a feature where you can draw the form of the soundwawe. (like in the nintendo cardboard piano , where you can cut out)

Easy to use tone generator. I use it to pick out headphone purchases by studying their frequency charts online and figuring out what spikes I'd be more sensitive to.

  18. PPP AAA-avatar

Works as described. I'll have it on and with a certain frequency going, I turn the volume down so I can hardly hear it. I do this for important meetings, as I've notice a better attitude of everyone in attendance.

  19. Matimba Ntsane-avatar

    Matimba Ntsane

hmm lets see, (this was only tested on one person, ie myself) i realised, you can access some parts of yourself, with the right tone and with some extra stimulation of your other sense, when equilibrium is reached, you can heal, it actually creates a mismatch for a brief moment, and a split second is all you need to confuse bacteria about the wound, and you feel somethings are hard to pin point in order to reverse, the key here is complimenting the every angle at once .....

  20. SirDella-avatar

Stupid app Dude, I'm testing a speaker set to max and you have the brilliant idea of blasting ads at full volume when turning off the generator? Use another app

  21. Steve Hughes-avatar

Very handy as it is. A cool upgrade would be the ability to use a different frequency in each ear simultaneously.

  22. York Hunt-avatar

I think this app needs more debugging done to it. I paid for pro and it said payment was successful and I didn't get ads for a few hours. I went back to using it later and I started getting ads at the bottom again and every time I exited certain menus. I closed the app, then reopened it and it started working again as though I paid for it. I hope the ads don't start popping up again. Also, I can't find any difference between Logarithmic and Linear control/display. They both look the same. Ns..

  23. Jay Sparrow-avatar

I build fiddles & I use this for tuning the top and back plates to final thickness and pitch. I've checked it against several different tuners. This is the best one I've found for free. It works very well through a loudspeaker as a reference tone, or to vibrate plates. Pitch from MY phone speaker is always sharp; how much depends on the frequency.

I love reading the reviews before I got this app, I wish there was a forum for users of this app to communicate with each other, because from reading the reviews, there are soooooooo many different uses for this simple, yet productive app! I got it to use with a pemf device, the mobile vortex tiny pulser and to learn more about frequencies, how they look and sound

This is awesome. I got it for my tinnitus. You can store presets with names and use a countdown timer to do set-length sessions. I saved three therapies, for my three tinnitus tones. You can also fine tune the tones using the +/- buttons. I updated to pro for the suggested $3, but you can choose your own amount.

Not bad so far its October 17.2020. Not sure if the lower waveforms are accurate like 1-5hz and 7-8hz. Will check back after my expensive military speaker comes, I already have a 14mic array specially designed and connected to Azure ML cloud running on a custom built program I have been developing for the past year. I will share the finished model on github in a couple weeks, or month , depending on my shipment arriving on time and not seized lol

Super cool app, worthy of an honest five buck donation in my world. If you enjoy mucking around with harmonics and frequency this is a decent way to go. Test how deaf yr dog is, find the frequency that your Nan can hear you at. Tune into the schuman resonance and experience vibrating as one with Earth, take your sandals off and let your armpit hair down.

Cool. I'm changing the review because of my own research ! Please don't use the same template as the answer for all the negative reviews! When pure sine waves are reproduced under ideal conditions and at very high volume, a human listener will be able to identify tones as low as 12 Hz. Below 10 Hz it is possible to perceive the single cycles of the sound, along with a sensation of pressure at the eardrums.

Exceptional! love it. 4 out of 5 - please let me pay you to get rid of the ads. ××× Revised ××× Thank you for your quick response. I did change my rating to 5. I do have a few humble suggestions: I would love to see an option to save or favorite a set of frequencies so that with the next run I can just find one of my presaved ones. Also, most times I use the app connected to a loud external speaker and the when the ads come on, my ears explode... please address this issue. Many thanks.

Excellent customization, i just downloaded this app and it is just what i was looking for. I've recently been benefitting from binaural beats but felt I was looking for something else, something simpler that I could dial in for me. I have been listening with headphones and the sound is amazing and clear. I would like to also say I downloaded this instead of others due to the open communication the developer seems to take with users over reviews and concerns. Nice job.

I think it's useful in finding the frequency of your tinnitus or reasonably close enough so that you can demonstrate what you hear to someone else. Ask first though. Compared the frequency of other apps to this app and it sounds spot on. Settings allows you to enable or disable running in background. Sitting through a 30 second ad was worth it.

Then I learned about the electrical grid being set to 60Hz in the United States and voilà! Science! This is a great tool for teachers too. In most other countries the grid is set to 50Hz just fyi

App does what I wanted it to do and that was to check different frequencies even going further by having different wave scales. Would give 5 stars if it allowed you to save say 10 frequently used so you could just tap a button and saved frequencies are there at another push of a button. Other than that small missing feature that I'm sure will be put in soon, 😉 thanks developer I recommend this to anyone looking to hear differences in sound frequencies it is simple 2 use.

A very simple and customizable tone generator. You can choose between a sine wave, a square wave, sawtooth wave or a triangle wave. Not to mention that you can adjust the output volume as well. Other apps restrict you by forcing you to use a sine wave or with a fixed loudness. This one gets 5 stars for implementing all basic features a tone generator should have. :)

As a quite old person, I was fascinated to find this. I remember being able to hear the line timebase frequency of B/W TV and for a short time that of the PAL system (15,625 Hz). I have always protected myself (I learned to do this as a technician on rocket motor testing: I was regarded as a strange person because I wore ear defenders. I gradually realised that apart from myself all my colleagues were all slightly deaf). This app should be recommended for self test for driver with loud music.

have always been looking for a reliable, true hz generator to test out systems I've installed in mine and other vehicles, and usually the other apps are all choppy and of very low quality. I was very surprised with how well and simple this app is to use and definitely comes in handy with car audio. I liked it so much, I even paid to remove ads, which aren't even a problem, just to donate to the developers! thanks guys!

Works very well. You can change the frequency with a slider and trim it with the + and - buttons which go in 1Hz steps. It can be useful having the slider rather than being limited to preset frequencies, for instance if you are looking for a resonance in a speaker cabinet. It's so useful to have this on my phone as previously I would have to carry a separate device. Well done and thanks to the people who designed this.

  96. Mircea Ban-avatar

This should be better named "The Ad-Storm generator". In 10 minutes of use after the first install I got at least 10 fullscreen ads, which take some time to download, so the phone became very slow and unresponsive. In fact, every time you press the Play/Stop button, you'll get an ad. Also, frequency adjustment is rather difficult. It turns out that the slider doesn't have a linear scale, so all the higher frequencies are crammed up at the right end. There are also other problems that I found.

This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for! A wonderful adjunct tool for my sound healing research. Love that I can shift wave patterns. Nice work!! If I could only make a wee suggestion to make this app the BEST in this category: *Ability to run 3 frequencies simultaneously* ⏩I'd give you 10⭐ & rave reviews!💜💙💛 Thank You to the fabulous developers👏

if you're running sound at front of house, checking your personal rig's audio response or such simple yet crucial audio concerns. This app is for you. checking against a professional sound generator, it really is pretty accurate. nothing fancy but it will impress anyone looking or listening. caution: do fool about with this application it will tend to upset some people in the very low or very high frequencies. work with it a while before using it in public. examined by //The Pricil Love Project//

Wow. This app is amazing. I know we can use frequencies to heal ourselves and each other and this frequency generator is the real deal. I turned it on when it was set to a ridiculously high frequency before I noticed. It was set to 11,000hz and my brother freaked out. It was horrible for him but I couldn't even hear it. He didn't know I was doing this so I know he could hear and feel it. I plan to research frequencies and how to use them for health benefits! Great app!

how can I get the pro, very good. I would like to eliminate ads. this is excellent, smooth 1hz steps. the square wave had a small tick in it every 2 seconds. it's gone away though, doesn't matter the sine is what I require and I cannot hear transitions from one frequency to another. good work.

I had problems with the neighbor's dog barking, this dealt with the issue through a wireless speaker, I have had problems with people parking in front of my house playing their music with extreme bass, this dealt with the issue, it is great for rodents, two-legged or four. Connecting up to an external speaker source, install ear plugs, stand clear of speakers 👍👍 I recommend this app to anybody with these type of issues, earplugs are a must.

Does exactly what it says. Doesn't have other features found in more advanced function generators (e.g., noise, loops, or oscillations) that I happen to need at the moment but keeping this app for when I just need tones because it's absolutely perfect for that purpose. Only ad I came across was when changing theme color (the only non-critical setting), and it was just a short video ad after agreeing to a polite request to view it to support the developer and am glad I could. Cheers.

This app is absolutely AWESOME !!! It is amazingly simple and intuitive. I RARELY pay the extra money for the "Pro" version of apps (which btw, you decide how much you want to pay .. another bonus, t/y !!) but I upgraded to the Pro version for this app without hesitation. Clean and pure. It is THAT GOOD !!! If ur looking for a great, feature rich, straight-forward audio tone generator, then look no further. This is it !!

an excellent app for testing the abilities of new speakers and the likes, but do be cautios with this and any other audio for that matter. i have an lgv40 Thinq and i destroyed the speakers on here with this app. i had no intention of using the actual speakers on the phone so it doesnt bother me much but just be smart. my phone was previously able to produce some noice at about 50 hertz, and now i have to go all the way to about 160 now to get anything out.

  109. Squib308-avatar

Hardware limits - with this or other apps, I can't get clean square waves on any device above about 1 kHz. (frequency depends on how "clean" you need/want the wave form). Some devices better than others, but not for more than 2 kHz square waves. Sine waves seem good. Triangle or saw tooth waves less so,again, getting above appx 1 kHz zone.

This app does exactly what I need it to do. I also am a really big fan of the fact that when I turn the app on I can play other sounds with the frequency playing simultaneously. All and all this is a very convenient app and I didn't expect to find something so easy to use when I wanted to start experimenting with sound frequencies. Great app.

I like the app. I just think there could be more features with it for a paid version. Like possibly a feature that can generate a soft clip for subwoofers. Or maybe a decibel meter built into it that uses the microphone on your phone. Yes I know they aren't always accurate, but it could give you a round about estimate for testing your entire car stereo system.

This is a well constructed and featured app. I have a few minor wishes (easier access to freq. increments), but it is very good as-is. Adding White and Pink noise would be welcome. I wanted this for use as an input signal source, both line input (via headphone jack) and Bluetooth; I also used it to estimate my hearing range; tried finding tinnitus frequency. I assume the smartphone speaker capability etc... may be uncontrollable factors. Very nice!

Very cool app! Doesn't go high enough for a dog whistle (23,000) but still Alot of fun to play with. Such a small fingerprint that everyone should download this, if for no other reason but to help the developer(s) so it can be upgraded for thoes of us who like this app. Give it a try right now & see what You can do with it. And no I'm not affiliated with this or any app. I just really like this one.

So simple to use. First thing I did was to do a hearing test. I got up to 14,000 Hz clearly with my left ear and barely heard it with my right ear. Great test for the upper frequency range for my Galaxy Note 8 speaker. Truly useful and easy to operate app.

Your app is violating the terms of service. I have seen another review saying the same thing that is happening to me. The app pops up full-screen ads even after i closed it and its not running in the background. I verified this after a couple of days where i deleted the app and downloaded it again and the problem came back in an instant. And i made sure it was no other app because i didnt delete or download anything. I have seen your reply to the other review saying its not possible but it is.

This app is perfect for mind training. You fire up sawtooth or square to hear beats from your phone speaker. Square fires double the beats, sawtooth fires what the number shows. I use this to entrain brainwaves. Alpha is about 8 to 12 cycles per second. So, set it to 8 or 10, sawtooth, and you are in alpha within 10 minutes. I find the single beats more effective than binaural. Also single beats are clear without headphones. The app is the best thing I've found since a long time.

Works extremely well considering the lack of high quality sound reproduction in a mobile phone or tablet. Eg the limited range of the speakers and the circuit providing the sound, it's a device for playing everyday sounds, it's a great app, it does exactly what it claims to do, it can't produce infra sound or bat calls etc because even if it could your device is incapable of reproducing that sound anyway..

Great app, the sine wave is 100% accurate in an s9+ tested on an oscilloscope with the headphone jack from 1hz to 22khz. The saw however is limited to around 5khz, hardware limitations most likely not the app. Didn't test the square or triangle but i do know the square is also limited just by the nature of it's implementation.

Does what it says it does. This is the perfect way to clear your speakers of water if they've gotten wet. I ran it through the frequencies slowly till it started spitting out water. Then I went higher till it started doing it again. Just keep repeating this process till the speakers aren't spitting out water or distorted on any frequency.

The app is extremely well-made and I was very happy to buy the pro version for just a couple of euros. One suggestion I would like to make is to implement the possibility to tweak the A4 more precisely; as of now, I can't really get the A to be 441.2 Hz like I usually do. Although the difference is almost unnoticeable, I don't see the point of not having this feature. Everything else is wonderful and easy to use.

Great app. Does as it says. Behaves great, with nice features and functions. Increment precision allows for 0.01 Hertz adjustments. Works in the background with is great. Limited by phone speaker as expected. I have not yet tested the accuracy with an oscilloscope, for this reason I must deducted a star until confirmed - 4/5 * * * *

I love this app! I started it 5 days ago, at a set range of 38 to 44Hz, the frequency meant to bother, repel roaches, fleas, rat mites and flies. I haven't seen a single roach since the moment I turned it on, playing it 18 hours a day. This app & setting seems to kill the adult mites, confuse the fleas though they're still biting and has no effect upon the flies. I also used it at 727Hz for the flu and it really helped. I tried 2 other similar apps and they sucked! Well done Hz developers! 😊

simple to use and exactly what i needed. kudos! regarding square and other non-sinusoidal peripdic waveforms, that's the physics of the waveform. a true square wave can only be made if the freq response of the audio system (here, a phone or tablet) is high enough so that overtones (sine waves of odd multiples of the fundamental frequency) are present and in the right proportion. example: 1 khz square wave has a lot of 1 knz sine added with some 3khz sine, some 5khz, etc. wiki Fourier series.

be careful... i tested it on earphones and i set it on the highest frequency (i haven't put on the earphones yet) and i tried to see if its working then i grabbed one of the earphones and brought it near my ear and it hurts so much... its a good app though just make a limit to where you can only go high enough so it wont damage your hearing..

I installed the App on my phone, and it appeared to work well, so I bought the Pro version. But when I installed it on my Android Head Unit (landscape screen), the UI does not work very well. When I press the "+" button, I can only see the frequency sweep option, and when I go into the freq sweep settings, I can only see the top half of the settings, it won't let me scroll down to see the rest of the settings, or press the OK button. I mainly bought this app for testing my car installation, I really hope that this can be fixed soon. Other than that, the App looks great, the UI is really nice.

Amazing. and really helpful. Most important thing is that there is NO disruptive ads. Introducing Frequency Sound Generator! Frequency Generator Sound player lets you generate a sine, square, sawtooth or triangle sound wave with a frequency between 1Hz and 22000Hz (hertz). It produces accurate tone & soundwaves while being simple and easy to use.

Tried it. great app and the Ads are not that annoying, but for privacy I don't use apps with ads as the app creator can't control the data collected by the ad feed company, so, I paid 99 cents to another great frequency generator pro. I know you will be going to a pay app when its possiblein your country and when you do get a paid version I'd think of getting it again.

It's the right app. I was testing out the headphones, and according to this my tablet goes all the way down to 35 Hertz. There was an issue listening to music, it sounds tinny, like there's too much cowbell. However, I don't think there's a hardware issue with my tablet. Thanks to frequency sound generator, now I know that it's working.

Very straightforward, simple, clean app. Does what it promises well. Ad system is fair & reasonable. Wishlist: automatic pitch sliding timer (to make a tone slide up/down, faster/slower, repeatedly) and to save as Wav/flac. For those of you worried about permissions, you do realize that your ISP tracks every website you visit & sells on the demographic info for ad revenue, right? This means your service provider has more tracking info on you than Facebook or Google.. Just sayin.. Calm down.

Very good app.....only wish it went to higher frequencies......those extremely painful to neighbors dogs who will never stop barking. Maybe also unlimited volume level. Your stupid ads cover my screen even when I'm not running your app. Lame AF. I verified by looking at the most recent app used. Yours was there as last executed even though it was not running and I had not used it for over an hour. As soon as I deleted your app, problem disappeared. So it looks like your app is breaking the terms of use.
