More details on challenges are contained within the app.
FODMAPs are short chain carbohydrates that are poorly absorbed in the small intestine, especially for people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, IBS, Crohn's disease, Colitis, Lactose Intolerance, Gluten Intolerance, other food intolerances and stomach sensitivities. They include short chain oligo-saccharide polymers of fructose and galactooligosaccharides, disaccharides (lactose), monosaccharides (fructose), and sugar alcohols (polyols).
The term is an acronym, derived from:
*Fermentable
*Oligo-
*Di-
*Mono-saccharides
*And
*Polyols
Although these specific carbs are naturally present in the foods we eat, diet restriction has been found to improve symptom control in people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGID), such as Lactose Intolerance, Gluten Intolerance, Crohn's disease, Colitis, and other stomach sensitivities. Prior to the formation of the FODMAP concept, diet was seldom used as first line therapy for management of IBS, Crohn's, Colitis, Lactose intolerance and other FGID.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a group of symptoms—including abdominal pain and changes in bowel movement patterns without evidence of underlying damage. The main symptoms of IBS are abdominal pain, discomfort in association with frequent diarrhea or constipation and a change in bowel habits.

Love it, quick and easy to understand. My gut health is much better when I avoid the highs. With this app I've quickly gotten use to what I should avoid, so now I use it just every now and then, but I keep it on my new electronics for a quick reference or reinforcement.

It's very easy to use this app if you want to know simply whether a food is high or low fodMAP. There are no details like in other fodMAP apps, but that's fine with me when I'm in a restaurant or something is cooking at home and I don't want details. Obviously, if something is "high" I know to eat as little of it as possible, unless I've already learned via the elimination-replacement process that for me it's not a trigger food. Request for foods is be added to the Diectory usually works.

Great app to know what you can and shouldn't eat. I've got this one, plus FODMAPer & Fast Fodmap installed because all three of them have a fee gaps in the databases. If I can't find it in one, it'll probably be in one of the other two. FODMAP Helper is the one I try first.

A great help, for me just coming out of 2 weeks of brutal symptoms. Being new to this IBS thing just feling on easy after a meal and checking I now know what not to eat or to drink diluted.

  5. Maya Kherani-avatar

    Maya Kherani

Edit: Even though I subscribed, I keep getting the "Premium Feature" block screen. Super annoying. It also seems to be missing a lot of common foods. Original review: Easiest lookup and food tracking without having to log all meals. You can track by individual food.

  6. Lauren Beres-avatar

Makes shopping and planning meals much easier, but have found many things not listed at all. Have submitted some foods for review, but haven't followed up to see if they were added or not.

  7. Khoury Humphrey-avatar

    Khoury Humphrey

Not much data and very rigid with organization and display. Very basic. Interface design is not the best. Overall, I feel this app is in a rough draft phase that got abandoned, similar to a man-child.

  8. K. Criswell-avatar

    K. Criswell

There are still some common foods I would like to see included. I have made suggestions previously but I have no idea if they have disappeared into the void or if someone actually read them.

  9. Connie Weikel-avatar

I loved the easy alphabetic list of high and low foods. I loved where I could add a food and have you add it to the list. Lije scallops and red clover sprouts.

  10. Ruben David-avatar

Simple app. Searchable database of common foods that tells you if it's okay or not. Does what I need, and doesn't try to do anything else.
