Update: the latest update July 2021) no longer crashes, and works fine. It's a shame it took so long, but finally I can use the latest features! Original: The most recent app doesn't work on my Android 11 phone. I was able to find an old APK (offering a "beta" mode, which also doesn't work), but this is not really acceptable for an expensive device!

Until now the resolution of the images was 1440*1080, now it is 640*480. I have purchased the camera with the description of making images at size1440*1080. How could this happened? This is totally unacceptable for me. I haven contacted the support alredy. After sending and receiving 40 emails simply NOTHING happened. This is totally unacceptable especially from a company like FLIR. I am totally disappointed.

So it appears that with the most recent update that we lost the ability to adjust the parallax after taking a photo. This really stinks as now if my images are off a bit when taking an MSX image, I can't adjust them to be inline. The new version does have some stability improvements, but also seems to never update GPS location. Spent all day yesterday taking images over a 2 mile span of corn field, and it said I was in 1 location the entire time. I had google maps up so I know I had GPS

This new update seems to lose alot of features like adjusting parallax after the picture is taken. Also pre-adjusting the parallax has less travel in the new version so the IR and visible light do not line up when looking at objects close up for diagnosing electronic components. It worked very well at this in the previous software version. Also the image looks more grainy since the upgrade. I do however like the hot-spot tracking in the new version.

Only recent update stinks, that's why I give it 3 stars. Otherwise the app is great, I love the ability to change the color pallet and the plug-and-use aspect of the app/ camera. The app is easy to use but was better before this update because of the ease and cool way to switch between the thermal and optical images; you merely would swipe up or down. And you could hold that swipe and get a half-and-half image. With this update, you can't do that and I prefer it that first way.

final update : 0/5.FLIR acknowledges it won't work on a Samsung A31 with Android 11, and have no timeline at all.returned for a refund.3 weeks wasted.they basically said 'have a nice life, goodbye'. update to my last post,back to useless-I received a replacement unit, but as everybody else reports, it does not work on Android 11 with Samsung A31. Customer support says they haven't received any other reports of issues on this phone, but can't offer any solution. complete waste of time and money.

I can no longer rotate my camera in the FLIR application. That's something I've relied upon as I use a USB-C extension cable to mount my unit in a different spot, upside down. I'm going to have to use a different application to use my expensive device because the DEVS couldn't keep standard features available because they're apparently lazy. 🍻

Slick interface and some very useful features so four stars for that but no option to rotate the image which is a pain if you want to connect the device via a cable. Also doesn't seem to be an option for capturing a time lapse which would be incredible useful for understanding longer term thermal issues.

I'll add to the low ratings. When is an app update/upgrade NOT one? When it's produced by FLIR. Nothing else to write that hasn't already been mentioned in the many, many poor reviews of this app. Seems more & more, companies are in a race to the bottom.

Edit 2 : finally, after more than one year they managed to fix the black screen issue. So I am upgrading to 4 stars. Original post from January 2021 : No longer works under Android 11, just a black screen. When using other apps the camera works, so it is clearly not a hardware issue. Sadly even there are many other users with the same problem, flir seems not interested to fix it.
