It does actually work, and not so badly, either. ...but, this was only possible after using the officially released firestick remote app to enable debugging, etc to set things up. It must be possible to connect without this detail, because the other app did so. The touch pad is a nice addition, but the app list menu crashes the app, Also, it's stupid to make vibration with every button press, but even worse is not including an option for user to turn it off!

This TV Remote App is better than the remote that came with my Element TV Edition Set. It acts more like an Apple TV Remote, yet surpasses even the Apple Remote App I downloaded. Every Game and App are arranged on a separate, easily accessible page on the Remote App, so theres no need to stop what youre watching and hit the home key until youve found the App you want. Ive also used this App in conjunction with a TV Cube on a different TV. Again, better than the native Remote and then some, since the Cube remote has no volume control. Highly recommended

I actually was not aware of this app until I lost my amazon fire tv stick remote. Unfortunately havent been able to find it but looked for this app and its awesome. Not only can you use a keyboard to text in search boxed but you can use your voice I LOVE this app. The only negative thing I can say is that amazon needs to advertise this app better because i had no idea it existed until i became desperate.

So so... when it works great. When it doesn't its the worst. It takes too long to connect and then you have to reboot sometimes it works but most times its a waiting game and i give up.

Well not the best but gets the job done. You'll need a firestick remote to get started first use. Once you get the debugger setting ON and select "do not ask again" for connection approval, you're good to go without remote next times. I suggest setting this up while you have the remote and not wait until one of the times the kids lose it and Netflix is asking "are you still there?" Right at a cliff hanger. Theres frequent ads which are annoying, but like I said it gets the job done in a pinch.

I lost my remote 2 weeks after I got it, but was able to use the app as a remote until my wifi changed and was in able to do anything with it, until........ This update Thank you so much for linking it to my Amazon account i am now able to enjoy it again Best update ever

Update: Dropped to 1 star bc now it doesn't work at all. Ever since my Fire TV had an update, this app won't connect. No matter how many times I reset or redownload, it does nothing. Old Review: Works great once it's connected but it disconnects a LOT. And sometimes it'll disconnect while rewinding or skipping ahead, which is very frustrating bc you miss your spot (sometimes the rest of the show) bc you can't connect back fast enough. If it didn't do this so much, then I'd give it more stars.

Waste of time. I downloaded this because even after new batteries, my remote didn't seem to work. Well... There is a tutorial on how to connect that basically stops at enabling debugging. That's it.. The end. When you hit another button, it says you aren't connected and opens the same useless information. So... Deleeeeeeeet timemaaaaa

First time opening the app, it took less than 5 seconds to connect and work. Ive never used a remote app that works this well. As usual, Amazon knocked it out of the park

I lost my remote about 4 months ago... Downloaded this bad boy and bam... No need for the remote anymore.. I was driving myself nuts looking for the darn thing.. Then when the remote finally turned up, the batteries died a few days later.. So again I turned back to the app.. My 11 month now uses the remote as a toy.. So double win for me
